WIKIPEDIA SEARCH ENGINE?

The founder of the vastly popular Web encyclopedia Wikipedia is planning on developing Wikiasari, an Internet search engine which will compete with Yahoo and Google. In an interview with The Times of London, Jimmy Wales mentioned that his web site search engine will utilize the same user-based technology that Wikipedia uses. Feeling that Google’s computer-based algorithmic searches can be sometimes easily manipulated, Wikiasari hopes that user-based human judgment will be significantly better.

Because spammers and commercial ventures are learning and adapting to be able to manipulate Google’s search methods, Wikiasari may have a viable alternative search method. In the same interview with The Times of London, Wales said: “Google is very good at many types of search, but in many instances it produces nothing but spam and useless crap. Try searching for the term ‘Tampa hotels’, for example, and you will not get any useful results.”

Man who killed child over Xbox now on trial Tyrone Spellman, the man charged with killing his own daughter over an Xbox, is now on trial. The accused claims he “snapped” when his 17-month old Alayiah pulled the Xbox’s cord causing it to fall over. In statement to the police Spellman said, “[he] popped her in the face. [He] picked her up and tossed her in a chair” when he thought the system was damaged.

Alayiah’s autopsy revealed “tremendous injury” inside her head “caused by at minimum three separate blows” to the right side, top, and back of her skull. Alayiah’s skull was so fractured a piece of bone had fallen out. Spellman was held for trial on charges of murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and related offenses.

CHRISTMAS TIPS FROM ED STEELE

The same as last year, but this bears repeating…. Here are your 2006 holiday eating tips:

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they’re serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can and quickly. You can’t find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It’s not as if you’re going to turn into an “eggnog-aholic” or something. It’s a treat. Enjoy it!!!! Have one for me. Have two. It’s later than you think. It’s Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That’s the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they’re made with skim milk or whole milk. If it’s skim, pass. Why bother? It’s like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people’s food for free. Lots of it. Hello???

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year’s. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you’ll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don’t budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They’re like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you’re never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, pumpkin and mincemeat – have a slice of each. Or, if you don’t like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it’s loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don’t feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven’t been paying attention. Reread tips: Start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by: “Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO-HOO what a ride!”

The Sanctions Against Iran

We find these UN sanctions against Iran interesting. Why? First of all, China is a member of the UN Security Council.

Why is a communist country a member of that council anyway? Didn’t China kill 50 or 60 million of its own people under the leadership of “Chairman” Mao? Does a rogue state like China have the right to sit in judgment of Iran – or any country?

Secondly, these sanctions are all about Israel. Iran is considered by the Jewish-dominated White countries to be a possible “threat” to Israel. Hence the sanctions.

Thirdly, isn’t it true that no Muslim/Arab country in the Middle East will ever be “allowed” by the West to have nukes, since 1) that would make Israel nervous, and 2) Israel has awesome political power in the West? Isn’t it time to realize that the de facto rule in the Middle East, according to the West, is: “only Israel shall ever have nukes?”

In other words: Zionism will continue with the West’s aid, regardless of whether that will anger most Muslims/Arabs. We think that the White countries are heading for a fight with Iran due solely to Israel. What do you think? And should White countries fight wars overseas for Israel’s benefit?

TWAIN ON JEWS

Mark Twain’s true opinion of the Jews is probably the best kept secret in American literary history. Immediately after his death, his eccentric daughter Ckara married a Jewish piano player, Otto Gabriilowitsch. Twain’s publishers were given speedy instructions to delete “Concerning the Jews” from the collected works, where it had appeared in the Book THE MAN THAT CORRUPTED HADLEYBURG AND OTHERS STORIES.

The following is taken from Harper’s Monthly Magazine, September 1899, as quoted in William Grimstad’s ANTI-ZION: CONCERNING THE JEWS by Mark Twain

Can fanaticism alone account for the persecution of the Jews? It is now my conviction that it is responsible for hardly any of it. In this connection I call to mind Genesis, chapter 47. We have all read the story of the years of plenty and the years of famine in Egypt, and now Joseph with that opportunity, made a corner in broken hearts, and the crusts of the poor, and human liberty—a corner whereby he took away the nation’s money to the last penny; took a nation’s livestock all away, to the last hoof; took a nation’s land all away, to the last acre. Then he took the nation itself, buying it for bread, man by man, woman by woman, child by child, till all were slaves; a corner which took everything, leaving nothing, a corner so stupendous that by comparison with it, the most gigantic corners in subsequent history are but baby things; for it dealt in hundreds of millions of bushels, and its profits were reckoned by the hundreds of millions of dollars. It was a disaster so crushing that its effects have not wholly disappeared from Egypt even today, more than 3,000 years after the event. Was Joseph establishing a character for his race which survived long in Egypt, and in time would his name be familiarly used to express that character—like Shylock’s? It was hardly to be doubted. Let us remember that this was centuries before the Crucifixion. In the U. S. cotton states, after the war, the Jew came down in force, set up shop on the plantation, supplied all the negroes’ wants on credit, and at the end of the season was the proprietor of the negro’s share of the present crop and part of the next one. Before long the whites detested the Jew. The Jew is being legislated out of Russia. The reason is not concealed. The movement was instituted because the Christian peasant stood no chance against his commercial abilities. The Jew was always ready to lend on a crop. When settlement day came, he owned the crop, and the next year he owned the farm, like Joseph. In the England of John’s time everybody got into debt to the Jew. He gathered all lucrative enterprises into his hands. He was the King of Commerce. he had to be banished from the realm. For like reasons, Spain had to banish him 400 years ago, and Austria a couple of centuries later. In all ages, Christian Europe has been obliged to curtail his activities. If he entered upon a trade, the Christian had to retire from it. If he set up as a doctor, he took the business. If he exploited agriculture, the other farmers had to get at something else. The law had to step in to save the Christian from the poorhouse. Still, almost bereft of employments, he found ways to make money. Even to get rich. This history has a most sordid and practical look. Religious prejudices may account for one part of it, but not for the other nine. Protestants have persecuted Catholics—but they did not take their livelihoods from them. Catholics have persecuted Protestants—but they never closed agriculture and the handicrafts against them. I feel convinced that the Crucifixion has not much to do with the world’s attitude toward the Jew; the reasons for it are much older than that event… I am convinced that the persecution of the Jew is not in any large degree due to religious prejudice. No, the Jew is a money-getter. He has made it the end and aim of his life. He was at it in Rome. He has been at it ever since. His success has made the whole human race his enemy. You will say that the Jew is everywhere numerically feeble. When I read in the Encyclopedia Britannica that the Jewish population of the United States was 250,000, I wrote to the editor and explained to him that his figures were without doubt a misprint for 25,000,000. People told me that they had reason to suspect that for business reasons, many Jews did not report themselves as Jews. It looks plausible. I am strongly of the opinion that we have an immense Jewish population in America. I am assured by men competent to speak that the Jews are exceedingly active in politics….

Secret of Borat’s fluent Kazakh – it’s Hebrew Sacha Baron Cohen’s antics as Borat may have made him and his backers the target of lawsuits and screening bans, but he’s going down very well in one rather unexpected place: Israel. That’s because Israeli film fans understand what the anti-semitic character is saying when he’s supposedly spouting Kazakh – Borat is actually speaking fluent Hebrew.

The 35-year-old British comic is an observant Jew whose mother was born in Israel and whose grandmother still lives in Haifa. In high school he belonged to a Zionist Jewish youth group, Habonim Dror, and upon graduation spent a year working and studying on a kibbutz, or collective farm, in northern Israel, according to the Associated Press. The irony of a Hebrew-speaking anti-semite is not lost on the admiring Israeli audience, which has made the movie a huge hit in the country.

“It is extremely funny and kind of cool to realise that you are understanding something no one else does,” said Gaby Goldman, 33, of Tel Aviv. “It’s not just the Hebrew but also the way he speaks. He sounds almost Israeli, he sounds like one of us.”

The film is peppered with Hebrew expressions and Israeli slang, inside jokes only Israelis could truly appreciate. In one scene, Borat sings the lyrics of a Hebrew folk song, Koom Bachur Atzel, which means “get up lazy boy”. Later, he refers to a Kazakh government scientist, “Dr Yarmulke,” who proved that a woman’s brain is the size of a squirrel’s. Even Borat’s signature catchphrase – “Wa wa wee wa,” an expression for wow – derives from a skit on a popular comedy show and is often heard in Israel.

Some American Jews fear Borat’s humour will go over people’s heads and reinforce bigotry. But in Israel, Borat’s fans are clearly in on the fun. “It was sort of like a wink to the Hebrew speaker,” Oded Volovitz, 32, said. “It was a message that basically said, ‘Although the movie is very anti (Jewish), I am still with you, I am still the same Mr Cohen. I’m just trying to send a message here and I hope you guys understand it.”
