      I remember reading a book by a girl who traveled to Russia in the early 2000s, and she couldn’t believe the crime that had exploded post-Communism.

      In less than two decades the country has regained it’s sense of pride, and sense in general. Crime down, economy up.

      I’ve heard idiots who watch a bit too much propaganda on tv say that the Russian people need to ‘get rid of their dictator’–he is one of the most popular leaders in Russian history. We certainly haven’t had a leader with that approval rating in any recent time. Putin was at almost 90% during the Trump campaign when people were making this ignorant statement.

      ‘Statesman’ is something you don’t hear said very often in the US, even in the State (Texas) where a newspaper bears that name.

      Other is Shah of Iran than you realized why these leaders were kicked out and politically destroyed.

      @Tina Carter: Good observation.

      John’s father, Joseph P Kennedy, openly stated we (USA) should stay out of WWII. He got the abusive ‘Lindbergh’ treatment for saying this.
