    1. Antagonistes Says:

      Everyone is pre-occupied with his own business; not even the sheep notice the fall of Icarus. Even the man at the lower right is in white, like the sheep.

      Creators are mostly ignored. Their way is perilous and lonely. But they are the mainspring of human progress, and people use the things that are created, like the plow and the ships, with no idea of how long that progress took, and at what cost. Even the domestication of horses is taken for granted.

      But Bruegel seems to be hopeful here—the multitude of ships show that just as humans left land for water, so they will leave land for the air. Just as the wind propels the huge ship across the water, it will propel humans across the sky.

    2. Thom McQueen Says:

      Brilliant, as usual, Ant.

    3. Antagonistes Says:

      Thankyou, Thom.

      What I really wanted to say is that masters, such as Sri Sreggin Das, can travel (through the air, I suppose) without airplanes. We both saw him de-materialize at Carrie’s funeral, and then he calls us from the other side of the world.

      Sri Sreggin Das has always taught that technology is just a material way of doing what the great masters have always done. Telecommunications, for example, is just a materialistic way of doing telepathy, which has been done for thousands of years.

      There is no better art ANYWHERE on Earth than Europe.

    5. Tina Carter Says:

      @Jürgen

      Arts & Music is past way of wasting time like today’s coach potatoes.

      While our better for drinking wine, and eating exotic food in Museum. Jewish took our my continent.

      Better nation don’t waste time on arts, and museum. They invest on the survivor on their race. Jews have done better job because they don’t waste their over sentimentality and piece of paper hanging on the wall.

      As for these so called arts. I doubt that most of it is “European”.

      Take a look at “Mona Lisa” picture. I mean take a long hard look at it. What kinda of people have that kind of a nose. As for her smile, she is not even smiling, when I saw the picture in real life. I am like why does she have slanted eyes (outside of asian only jews have those shapes).
