Elites vs. Normal People

“Spare the rod, spoil the child.” Yes! We learned in Political Science class in college that “rich, powerful elites” are usually very corrupt people because they were never disciplined as children. They were raised mostly by nannies and so were rarely or never punished for wrongdoing. They “got away with murder,” so to speak, as children, and so they think they can get away with murder as adults, too. And they do, usually! Their money and their power allow them to act like assholes and get away with it. You might say that rich elites are “pre-disposed to be corrupt jerks.”
