The center that held Iraq together, repulsive as it was, is gone. But, the comment of Yuval Diskin, head of the Israeli security agency Shin Bet, may yet prove incisive: "I'm not sure we won't come to miss Saddam."
The Shiites have been the principle beneficiaries of our intervention. Liberated from Saddam's rule, under U.S. rules of "one-man, one-vote," they were, with 60 percent of the population, the certain inheritors of the estate. Yet, Shiite conduct calls to mind the remark of the Austrian prime minister after Tsar Nicholas I intervened to save the Hapsburgs from revolution in 1848: "We shall astonish the world with our ingratitude."

Home schoolers put classical back into education
Latin is alive and well with a group of Clarke home school students.
In 2001, Judy Taylor, Cindy Leahy and Dana Heidelberger were immersed in the educations of their own children. As home school mothers, they decided that they could provide their children with a better education than could the public schools.
To home-school in Clarke County, written notification of intent must be post-marked no later than Aug. 15. Intent must be re-submitted annually. You do not need permission, and the rule is based on state law, not county. At the end of the school year the law requires most individuals to show some evidence of progress for the child. This can be a portfolio of the child's schoolwork, an evaluation by a certified teacher or a standardized academic test. (Individuals who file intent based on religion or who are certified teachers are exempt from this by state law.)
"We are a progressive school district," said Matthew Eberhardt, Clarke County Schools assistant superintendent. "We established in 2001 a policy which allows any school-aged resident of Clarke County to take part in any classes as needed that the public school system offers. The Clarke County School District prides itself with a good relationship with the home-school community," said Eberhardt.
"Statistically, home school children score 15 - 25 percent above the average public school student on standardized tests. They also score higher on the SAT and ACT," Taylor said.
The three were so thrilled with the results they saw in the educational development of their own children that they decided to combine their efforts and resources. They joined forces with Susan Shearer, a retired Latin public school teacher with 30 years' experience, and formed "Classical Cottage," a home school cooperative.
The group meets every Wednesday at the Berryville Baptist Church from 8:25 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. This year's group is comprised of 160 students ranging in ages from 3 – 17, and also includes at least one parent per child (children at the school must be chaperoned by a parent).
"A classical education trains a person to be skilled at thinking, not filled with facts, by which one is educated in a modern curriculum," Taylor said.
The school's Latin-based curriculum was founded on the educational philosophies of Dorothy Sayers which are documented in her essay, "The Lost Tools of Learning" (1947). Sayers was a member of a group of renowned theologians and academics such as C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, J.R.R. Tolkien and Owen Barfield at Oxford. She was a scholar and an expert on the middle Ages.
"The sole end of education," wrote Sayers, "is simply this: to teach men how to learn for themselves; and whatever instruction fails to do this is effort spent in vain."
In the grammar phase, students at Classical College under age 10 focus on the grammar of language through the study of Latin and exposure to such living languages as French and Spanish. Powers of memory and observation are strengthened through the study of Latin which enhances the student's studies of English grammar, ancient history, mythology, geography and science.
Students between the ages 10 - 16 participate in the logic stage, which entails the intense study of Latin, independent writing and logic classes. A two-year writing program is offered, the Progymnasmata, and is recommended before formal logic. Students are encouraged to participate in the Junior Classical League and Certamen competitions in order to broaden their knowledge of classical history, mythology and culture.
Students between ages 14 - 18 study rhetoric and learn the art of articulating ideas for the purpose of persuasion. Previous study of Latin, logic and Progymnasmata courses in the grammar and logic phases will have prepared students for Rhetoric.
The curriculum does not include theology, as it believes religion is a family's responsibility. However, classes do reflect a Christian world view. For instance, history is cited as having occurred either "before the flood," or "after." Further, arbitration techniques listed for teachers in the school's handbook cite the Biblical pattern of confession, repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation, as well as biblical references to support it (Matthew 18:15, Galatians 6:1, Ephesians 4:15 and Romans 15:14).
Classical Cottage students have been successful at recent competitions. Shearer, who heads the Certamen team (Certamen is Latin for contest or struggle) led her team to many wins at the Jan. 18 Riverbend High School Tournament in Fredericksburg, Va. The competitions have four areas - Latin grammar, Roman history, Roman culture and Greek and Roman mythology.
"On the state level," Heidelberger said, "we have received numerous compliments and have been informally interviewed several times."
Classical Cottage's real-life success stories, however, will be read well into the future. Taylor's daughter, Joanna, is in tenth grade and will be the first student to graduate from the Trivium curriculum. "She will probably go on to Patrick Henry College," said Taylor, "which is a classical college. We will probably see the results then."

Level of disorder dropped dramatically after element removed from vaccines
A new study shows a direct relationship between mercury in children's vaccines and autism, contradicting government claims there is no proven relationship between the two.
Published in the March 10 issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, the data show since mercury was removed from childhood vaccines, the reported rates of autism and other neurological disorders in children not only stopped increasing but actually dropped sharply - by as much as 35 percent.

Up until about 1989, pre-school children got only three vaccines - polio, DPT and MMR. By 1999, the CDC recommended a total of 22 vaccines to be given before children reach the first grade, including Hepatitis B, which is given to newborns within the first 24 hours of birth. Many of these vaccines contained mercury. In the 1990s, approximately 40 million children were injected with mercury-containing vaccines.
The rate of autism skyrocketed between 1989 and 2003. Currently, there are more than a half million children in the U.S. who have autism.
In 1999, on the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics and U.S. Public Health Service, thimerosal was removed from most childhood vaccines as a "precautionary" measure. There was no admission of any causal link between thimerosal and autism.

The movie, which depicts the story of two young Palestinians in Nablus who were chosen by a local terror group to carry out a suicide bombing in Israel, and which trails their preparations ahead of the attack, infuriated many in the country, most notably publicist Irit Linor, who in an opinion column in Ynet called "Paradise Now" "a quality Nazi film."

In an interview with Yedioth Ahronoth, the Israeli-born director of the Golden Globe award winner for Best Foreign Film emerges as no less controversial than his recent production. At the beginning of our talk he demands that when quoting him I would refrain from using the term "terrorist" to describe people sent to explode themselves in buses and markets.
This is an act of terror, but this terror derives from another terror, Abu-Assad explains. Suicide bombings are a reaction to your terror, he says, and suggests the most accurate term to describe a suicide bombing would be "a counter-terrorist act."
The occupiers and the occupation are the real terrorists. The real terror is stealing the Palestinians' right to live free on their land, Abu-Assad claims.
Confronted with the statement that his words seem to come close to justifying the bombers' actions, Abu-Assad says that in order to stop terror, there is a need to look at the full picture.
'Jews forget they were victims'
Abu-Assad deeply resents Linor's article, which stirred a row of its own upon publication. Articles like this make it harder for me to fight prejudice against Jews, he says.
Someone dares speak up against your movie and already it's hard for you to avoid being critical toward Jews?
They are not just opposed to my film; they also claim to represent all Jews, he states. This is why such an article is "racist and fascist," he says.
Abu-Assad says Linor truly believes people who belong to another nation are different than her. She thinks people who don't accept the fact the occupation is the source for suicidal acts in effect says the Palestinian culture is the root of terror, evil, he explains.
It's hard to see the way Jews, who were once the victims of prejudice and paid a heavy price for anti-Semitism, today act the same, he states. "It makes you want to stop believing in humanity."
Even during the Holocaust, people did not strap on a bomb and set out to kill innocent people.
This was a different situation that only lasted six years, Abu-Assad replies, adding that in the first 30 years of occupation there were no suicide bombings. Who knows what would have happened in Germany had the oppression continued for 30 years, he asks rhetorically.
Abu-Assad stresses he is a pacifist who believes any killing is wrong, and that he advocates a non-violent struggle as the right method for obtaining one's goals. However, he states, while he currently has the privilege to make such a stand, in a different situation his moral position may have been different.
In other words, had you been living in the territories, you would have become a shahid (martyr)?
Abu-Assad hesitates for a second before replying, "yes." He recounts an episode in which he was humiliated by a soldier at the Kalandiya checkpoint near Jerusalem, and says this was what made him realize what runs through the heads of people who later become suicide bombers.
You feel like such a coward it kills you, he describes, saying this cowardice makes people start hating life and feel impotent.
I realized, Abu-Assad explains, that when a man systematically goes through such humiliation, he chooses to kill his own impotency by carrying out an act of "let me die with the philistines."

NAZARETH, Israel (AP) - A distraught Israeli couple, joined by another woman, entered one of Christianity's holiest sites Friday and set off explosions, police said, sparking a large riot in this biblical town in northern Israel.
At least eight people, including five police, were injured in the melee, which appeared to be under control by late Friday.
The assailants, who were not believed to be linked to any Jewish nationalist group, were disguised as Christian pilgrims when they entered the Basilica of the Annunciation, police said.
They remained barricaded inside the building for several hours before police broke through a crowd of several thousand angry protesters and took the three away.
A witness who identified herself only by her first name, Rouan, said the church was crowded with worshippers praying for the coming Easter holiday at the time of the blast, which apparently did not cause any major damage.
Police officials said the Jerusalem couple had been treated for psychiatric problems in the past and authorities had questioned them this week and threatened to place their children in foster care.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. No information was available on the woman who was with them.
Israeli Public Security Minister Gideon Ezra said the attack did not appear to have nationalist motivations. He said the husband was Jewish and the wife was Christian. He also said he had been in touch with local Christian leaders to calm the tensions.
The church is at the site where Christians believe the Angel Gabriel appeared before the Virgin Mary and foretold the birth of Jesus.
Nazareth, the boyhood town of Jesus, is in northern Israel. It is inhabited by Christian and Muslim Arabs and religious tensions have boiled over in the past, with the two sides in a dispute over attempts to build a mosque next to the church.

Supremacists plan local protest

The last time members of the World Church of the Creator and other white supremacists came to York, they clashed on the streets with armed and masked anarchists and anti-racists.
Those bloody encounters included beatings with sticks and clubs, rock-throwing, Mace-spraying and no small amount of invective-hurling.
Police in riot gear and state troopers on horses did their best to keep the peace during the downtown brawl that began after group leader Matt Hale gave a speech at
Martin Library in January 2002, but more than a half-dozen people reported being injured. One person was even run over by a vehicle amid the chaos.
But if the group, now called the Creativity Movement, makes good on its promise to return to York City on April 29 -- and bring members of other white-supremacist groups with them -- they will do so without Hale, their Chicago-based leader.
Part of the reason the self-described religious group wants to come to York en masse is to protest Hale's imprisonment, according to York County resident Michael Cook, national director of the York Creativity Movement.
"Matt Hale vowed to return to York, and that's exactly what we're going to do, even though Matt Hale is not going to be with us," Cook said.
Hale is serving a 40-year prison sentence. He was convicted in 2004 of soliciting an undercover FBI agent to kill Chicago-based federal Judge Joan Lefkow. Lefkow had ordered Hale's group to stop using the World Church of the Creator name because it violated the copyright of a Christian organization.
"Not only are we (trying) to potentially recruit people to the movement of Creativity, we'll also be there to stand strong for our illegally imprisoned leader," Cook said. "We believe that he is ... a political prisoner in this country, and we demand his immediate release."
Cook described the April 29 event, scheduled to start at noon in front of Martin Library, as a "Creativity revival and protest."
Masks optional: He sent out a press release to other white-supremacist groups, including the Aryan Nations, which posted the release on its Web site.
"Members of the Matt Hale Brigade be advised to protect their identities ... by concealing your face with a ... ski mask," the release states, and uniforms of black shirts, ties and pants are "mandatory."
The masks are to protect white supremacists' jobs, families and property, Cook said, but are optional.
"We're one of the most persecuted religions on the face of the earth right now," he said.
Cook said the core of the Creativity Movement's message is "the survival, expansion and advancement of the white race."
"We're a racial religion -- our race is our religion," he said. "We are anti-Christian ... and anti-Jewish. (But) we don't believe in exterminating anybody."
Cook said one of the movement's goals is to make the United States an all-white "homeland" that people of other races will simply leave willingly. Cook also said the group will not try to start confrontations.
"We don't want to turn this into a violent event," he said. "All of us are law-abiding citizens ... and we're here to bring the message of Creativity to our white racial comrades and to potential future members. We're not going to crawl back into any hole, like (Mayor) John Brenner said. We're already rooted here in York, and we're not going anywhere."
Still, he said, they will defend themselves if attacked.
Cook said he's already received a "firestorm" of calls from white-supremacist groups from around the country. He said he expects "hundreds" of people to attend the April protest.
Mayor says go away: But York's mayor isn't convinced white supremacists will come out in force, or even come at all.
"These individuals and organizations love to get media attention, and one of the things they may be doing right now is just that," Brenner said. "They all feed off this (publicity), and the more we give them, the happier they are. It is not our goal to make them happy. It's our goal to suggest they go to wherever the heck they came from -- and stay there."
But if white supremacists do come to York, "we'll deal with it," Brenner said.
"We've dealt with these things before. We'll make sure the citizens of York are protected, and that our property is protected," he said. "Right now, our focus is on monitoring these individuals, but we're not going to spend a lot of time worrying about them because, quite frankly, they're not worth it."
The York community isn't "buying into their message," the mayor said, and noted that the York County Community Against Racism's fourth annual meeting is set to begin at noon Saturday at the Crispus Attucks Community Center.
"Our community has stood firmly against hatred, against intolerance and against bigotry," Brenner said. "Particularly for the last five years."

In the aftermath of the public revelation of the presidential
"teleconference" and mounting criticism of the performance of Michael
Chertoff, Administration sources told HUMAN EVENTS today that the
secretary of Homeland Security has "only a few days left" in the Bush
Cabinet.
As one source acquainted with the former federal prosecutor and U.S.
appellate judge said under promise of anonymity, "They will give
[Chertoff] a little time so it won't hurt his reputation too much, but
he's probably got only a few days left."
For weeks, Chertoff has been under fire from Capitol Hill and in the
media for his performance during the disaster last year. In addition,
more criticism has been fuelded by his clash with former FEMA Director
Michael Brown in the so-called post-Katrina "blame game." (See HUMAN
EVENTS' exclusive report, "Brown: White House Made Me Scapegoat.")
Last month, however, when I asked White House Press Secretary Scott
McClellan if the President had confidence in the embattled Chertoff, he
replied without hesitation "Absolutely." Even Sen. Hillary Clinton
(D.-N.Y.), a very public critic of the Administration's handling of
Katrina, stopped short of calling on Chertoff to leave.
But with the release of the teleconference two days ago and resultant
media discussion of the President's apparent silence as Brown informs
him of pending disaster ("Is Brown Owed An Apology?" was the theme of a
debate on Fox News last night), criticism of Chertoff and calls for his
resignation have been enhanced.
Now, at least one source close to him says the end of his tenure as the
nation's second secretary of Homeland Security is near.

Imette St. Guillen Would Have Turned 25 Today
March 2, 2006 — - Police have released a sketch of a potential suspect in the rape and slaying of a New York graduate student, the same day her family offered a $30,000 reward for information leading to the killer's arrest.
Police found Imette St. Guillen's naked body wrapped in a floral blanket on the side of an East New York highway on Saturday after an anonymous 911 call. The 24-year-old woman had been brutally raped, her face had been wrapped in tan masking tape, and her hands and feet bound with shoelaces and wire. A sock was stuffed in her mouth, and her hair chopped off on one side.
The sketch shows a New York City cabdriver described as having a dark complexion, possibly Middle Eastern, and in his 30s. The driver allegedly sexually assaulted another young woman at knife point before dropping her off in the same area where St. Guillen's body was dumped. There is no hard evidence yet that links the two attacks.
St. Guillen was last seen alone having a drink at a trendy Soho bar around 4 a.m. Saturday. She reportedly walked there from another bar about 30 minutes earlier. Police are investigating the 25 security cameras she could have passed on her walk.
St. Guillen was studying forensic psychology at John Jay College in New York, and was four months' shy of a master's degree in criminal justice.
The college has established a scholarship in her name.
"Imette was an outstanding student at John Jay College," college President Jeremy Travis said in a statement on the school's Web site. "She was on our dean's list, and most certainly would have been a charter member of this new honor society. It is fitting that these student leaders have created this scholarship as one of their first official acts."
St. Guillen would have been 25 today. Her family is planning her wake.
"This heartache is unbelievable," said Alejandra St. Guillen, Imette's sister. "No family deserves this."

For the small, hardy band of right-wing Jews who attended this past weekend's American Renaissance Conference, the biennial gathering of white nationalists ended on a sour note.
The events Saturday, February 25, passed without major incident. But then, late Sunday morning, none other than former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke approached the microphone on the floor during the question-and-answer session for French writer Guillaume Faye. After congratulating Faye for stirring remarks that "touched my genes," Duke asked if there weren't an even more insidious threat to the West than Islam.
"There is a power in the world that dominates our media, influences our government and that has led to the internal destruction of our will and our spirit," Duke said.
"Tell us, tell us," came a call from the back of the room.
"I'm not going to say it," Duke said to rising laughter.
But Michael Hart, a squat, balding Jewish astrophysicist from Maryland, was not amused. He rose from his seat, strode toward Duke (who loomed over him like an Aryan giant), spit out a curse - "You f.ing Nazi, you've disgraced this meeting" - and exited.
..Faye, the French writer, offered a similar response to Duke's not-so-veiled reference to Jews.
"The danger of the Jews is not the same as danger of the Arabs,'' he said. He continued: "The Jew is" - and here he had to have Taylor interpret a French expression - "the hole in the dike."
"The water is immigration," he continued. "We must fight on two fronts, but not by the same means. We must be very acute in our strategy. The best thing is to not speak about the Jews. They don't exist. For me, they are like Eskimos."

Prosecutor fired after attending meeting of 'white preservationists'

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A Southern Tier attorney was fired from his job as a county prosecutor Thursday over his attendance at a conference of "white preservationists."
Michael Regan was terminated following an investigation by his boss, Allegany County District Attorney Terrence Parker, who said he had received numerous e-mails expressing concern about the assistant district attorney's presence at a meeting of the New Century Foundation in northern Virginia last week.
"It has become clear that his recent activities will continue to significantly disrupt and impair his effectiveness as an assistant district attorney and the operations of the entire district attorney's office," Parker said.
Regan did not immediately return a telephone message seeking comment.
Regan was quoted in Saturday's Washington Post as calling participants at the conference "white preservationists" rather than white supremacists, and saying U.S. policies on immigration, trade and demographics have put the country on the wrong path.
He declined to comment in the days that followed.
The Anti-Defamation League characterizes the New Century Foundation's ideology as "intellectualized, pseudoscientific white supremacy" and said the group promotes "genteel" racism.
The ADL's regional director for New York was among those who wrote to Parker, noting the article also quoted Regan as saying: "You can see European Christian Americans are an endangered species."
"Those kinds of comments are absolutely inappropriate for a public official," Joel Levy said.
A New York City lawmaker asked state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to investigate whether racism has "contaminated" the district attorney's office in the rural western New York county.
"An assistant district attorney within the boundaries of our state who openly ascribes to a racist ideology is a threat to every minority citizen in New York State," wrote Larry Seabrook, chairman of the New York City Council's Civil Rights Committee.
He asked Spitzer for an immediate investigation "to determine if racism has contaminated the prosecutorial operations and decision-making of the office."
Parker called Seabrook's request "political grandstanding."
"If the city councilman, who has no knowledge of the facts, is trying to make some sort of statement for his own political advantage without ascertaining the facts, I think that he is probably misguided," Parker said.
Spitzer's office did not immediately respond to the request.
The New York State Bar Association's code of professional responsibility says a lawyer has a conflict of interest if his personal interests interfere with his professional judgment on a client's behalf.
But "there is no per se rule that says a lawyer with any particular set of personal views can or cannot represent clients," said Joseph Neuhaus, chairman of the association's Committee on Professional Ethics.
In addition to his part-time work as a county prosecutor, Regan has been an adjunct professor in the Alfred University College of Business since 2003, the college said.
University President Dr. Charles Edmonson, in a statement, said Regan's future as a part-time instructor would be determined "by our needs and his capabilities."
Alfred doesn't hire or fire people because of their outside activities "unless those activities suggest that they represent a menace to the safety and order of the university," the statement said. "We have employees who are also members of diverse religious and social groups, political parties, school boards, various village and town boards, and county legislatures who sometimes take controversial public positions. Alfred respects the rights of free expression outside the classroom."

A small-town police chief was accused in a federal lawsuit Thursday of stopping a would-be rescuer from performing CPR on a gay heart attack victim because he assumed the ailing man had HIV and posed a health risk.
Claude Green, 43, died June 21 after being stricken yards from City Hall in Welch, a community of about 2,400.
The American Civil Liberties Union sued on behalf of his mother.
Police Chief Bobby Bowman called the allegations "a boldface lie." He said that he called an ambulance and that Green was taken to the hospital in "no more than nine minutes."
"No one refused him CPR as his sister and mom are saying. They can do what they want, but if they're saying I refused him CPR, that is no way true," Bowman said.

This comes under the heading: Everything I know about jews I learned from Star Trek.
I am always amazed at how the jew will give telling glimpses of how he views himself and his activities. Many years ago I saw a Star Trek episode that, at least for me, was a telling allegorical tale of how jews present reality to their host. At the time I had just donned the Hoffman lenses for the first time and like rowdy Roddy Piper, I was having a hard time believing what I was seeing. Somehow this episode hit me at exactly the right moment and it gave me a flash of enlightenment as to what the jew actually represents to their host. I never have been a fan of any jew media production and certainly not of any science fiction series - especially Star Trek. Until recently I never knew the name of the episode to which I refer, but the story line always intrigued me and has stuck with me over the years. During a recent whim, I decided to once again test my power to search the web for information for which I have only the most tenuous link and due to that effort I have finally learned the name of the episode was "Catspaw". For those who might be interested, here are the particulars:

Synopsis
On the planet Pyris VII, two beings known as Korob and Sylvia have been sent on a mission of conquest by their home world. Using a matter transmuter, they assume human form to welcome the U.S.S. Enterprise landing party.
When one member of the initial landing party returns to the ship dead, Kirk, Spock and McCoy beam down to find Scotty and Sulu transformed into mindless zombies. Sylvia and Korob appear as witch and warlock and use scare tactics to keep the officers from investigating the planet and their motives. Kirk, Spock and McCoy are taken prisoner and shown examples of Korob and Sylvia's "powers," which includes heating a small model of the U.S.S. Enterprise over a flame and having the heat transfer to the orbiting ship.
Sylvia takes an interest in Kirk and decides to abandon her original mission in order to learn about human feelings and experiences. When she finds out the captain is merely using her to gain an advantage, she becomes furious and retaliates.
Korob ultimately helps the crew to escape, but Sylvia turns into a giant black cat and crushes him. Kirk then uses Korob's wand transmuter to destroy Sylvia's source of power -- her amulet -- before smashing the wand. Their powers gone, the aliens revert to their true form -- fragile blue creatures who quickly die in the planet's atmosphere. With their demise, Scotty and Sulu return to normal and the landing party beams back to the U.S.S. Enterprise.
So what is the parallel hell found in this episode? The aliens are tiny, fragile, parasitical type creatures that uses a "transmuter" to project an overwhelming and terrifying image of themselves and their power. They use magical devices and mystical incantations to exert their power. Everything the aliens do is nothing more than a terrifying projection of their imagination. In the end when the transmuter is destroyed, the aliens are revealed in their true form and die from exposure to the light - get the drift yet? I do not know if the writer Robert Bloch was a jew, but the name certainly fits. It has been many years since I saw a Star Trek episode, so I may be not be quite spot on in my analysis but this is how I remember the story and this is the lesson it presented to me so many years ago.
There is also an excellent movie that I find has been overlooked by many white folk. The name of the movie is Brazil and it is quite prescient in its view of the future. This 1985 movie was a Terry Gilliam production and it's view of today is chillingly accurate. Terrorist are the bogymen used to manipulate the citizens, torture is the order of the day and none of the advanced technology actually works as it should. Brazil is not only technically excellent, but also quite thought provoking. Perhaps the reason for Brazil's lack of exposure was that the movie was not a jewish Hollywood production. In fact Brazil ran head to head with a real jewish cinematic stinker called Out of Africa. It is ironic that I went to see the jew's claptrap production Out of Africa and did not see Brazil until ten years after its release. Like many jew productions the cinematic efforts and technical aspects of Out of Africa were excellent, but the acting and the maudlin story line was enough to make an Aryan puke; needless to say, it was a most forgettable move. The only reason I remember it at all was because of the woman who accompanied me to the opening. Perhaps it was my lack of taste that later prompted her to refuse my proposal for marriage. Like any of Gilliam's movies you have to see Brazil many times over to catch all the nuances, but that's another story for another day.
