Prime Minister Tony Blair, who wrenched his party from the left to the center of the political spectrum, said he had been inspired to enter politics by a book about socialist icon Leon Trotsky.
At a World Book Day event at London's Commonwealth Club earlier this week, Blair said Isaac Deutscher's biography of the Russian communist leader was the book that meant the most to him.
Deutscher's three-volume work -- "The Prophet Armed," "The Prophet Unarmed" and "The Prophet Outcast" -- paints a sympathetic portrait of Trotsky, who helped Vladimir Lenin lead the 1917 Russian revolution but was later driven out by Joseph Stalin. He was murdered by an agent of Stalin in Mexico in 1940.
"I might as well make a confession now," Blair said. "There were people who got me very involved in politics. But then there was also a book."
Blair said the work "made a very deep impression on me and gave me a love of political biography for the rest of my life."
"My association with books has continued through the rest of my adult life but particularly with my children," Blair added.
He said the book he read most often was "Flat Stanley," a children's story loved by his 5-year-old son, Leo.
"I know more about Flat Stanley than I ever really wanted to."

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Walter Soehnge is a retired Texas schoolteacher who traveled north with his wife, Deana, saw summer change to fall in Rhode Island and decided this was a place to stay for a while.
So the Soehnges live in Scituate now and Walter sometimes has breakfast at the Gentleman Farmer in Scituate Village, where he has passed the test and become a regular despite an accent that is definitely not local.
And it was there, at his usual table last week, that he told me that he was "madder than a panther with kerosene on his tail."
He says things like that. Texas does leave its mark on a man.
What got him so upset might seem trivial to some people who have learned to accept small infringements on their freedom as just part of the way things are in this age of terror-fed paranoia. It's that "everything changed after 9/11" thing.
But not Walter.
"We're a product of the '60s," he said. "We believe government should be way away from us in that regard."
He was referring to the recent decision by him and his wife to be responsible, to do the kind of thing that just about anyone would say makes good, solid financial sense.
They paid down some debt. The balance on their JCPenney Platinum MasterCard had gotten to an unhealthy level. So they sent in a large payment, a check for $6,522.
And an alarm went off. A red flag went up. The Soehnges' behavior was found questionable.
And all they did was pay down their debt. They didn't call a suspected terrorist on their cell phone. They didn't try to sneak a machine gun through customs.
They just paid a hefty chunk of their credit card balance. And they learned how frighteningly wide the net of suspicion has been cast.
After sending in the check, they checked online to see if their account had been duly credited. They learned that the check had arrived, but the amount available for credit on their account hadn't changed.
So Deana Soehnge called the credit-card company. Then Walter called.
"When you mess with my money, I want to know why," he said.
They both learned the same astounding piece of information about the little things that can set the threat sensors to beeping and blinking.
They were told, as they moved up the managerial ladder at the call center, that the amount they had sent in was much larger than their normal monthly payment. And if the increase hits a certain percentage higher than that normal payment, Homeland Security has to be notified. And the money doesn't move until the threat alert is lifted.
Walter called television stations, the American Civil Liberties Union and me. And he went on the Internet to see what he could learn. He learned about changes in something called the Bank Privacy Act.
"The more I'm on, the scarier it gets," he said. "It's scary how easily someone in Homeland Security can get permission to spy."
Eventually, his and his wife's money was freed up. The Soehnges were apparently found not to be promoting global terrorism under the guise of paying a credit-card bill. They never did learn how a large credit card payment can pose a security threat.
But the experience has been a reminder that a small piece of privacy has been surrendered. Walter Soehnge, who says he holds solid, middle-of-the-road American beliefs, worries about rights being lost.
"If it can happen to me, it can happen to others," he said.

Holocaust survivor rapes children and claims victory!
When the West sided itself unanimously behind the Danish cartoon of the
Prophet Muhammad, the Arab world vocalized one clear reaction: "hypocrites!". One
honestly cannot defend freedom of speech for a dozen of lame cartoons while on
the other hand a dozen of dissident historians, chemists and authors are in
jail strictly for questioning the Holocaust-dogmas.
When the former AEL-president Dyab Abu Jahjah gave his bidding and
consequently published a cartoon about the Holocaust these "enlightened" Western
opinion molders became hysterical.
What surprised us most in this matter was the fact that the Arab reactions to
the Danish cartoon-affair (aside from the sad burnings, boycotts and the
like) without exception involved the hypocrisy of the West and its sacred
Holocaust-dogmas in the West. Questioning the 'Six Million Gassed Jews of Auschwitz
and Everywhere' implicates the severest form of persecution and state
repression. At the moment the Canadian Ernst Zündel, the German Germar Rudolf, the Swiss
René Berclaz, the Fleming Siegfried Verbeke, the Briton David Irving and tens
of lesser gods from the revisionist pantheon remain locked up in state
facilities. Their only crime is their different opinion about certain alleged
aspects of the Second World War.
The West which on one side demonstrates the greatest tolerance -- call it
unwillingness -- for recidivist and antisocial criminals such as thieves, rapists
and murderers, doesn't spare a chance to prosecute and silence the revisionist
school and to bring them for an Inquisitional court.
Those Egyptian, Iranian, Syrian and Lebanese columnists in this matter
clearly have a better understanding of the degree to which the free West allows
itself to be tyrannized and paralyzed than the bunch of sociological and political
experts who merely portray their hypocrisy over our democratic rights.
Worse is the fact that these international and mostly Arab commentators only
see the tip of the iceberg. Aside from the open repression of the dissident
revisionists and the institutionalized Freudian analytical lessons in state
schools where Germans are branded as "culprits" from the cradle to the grave, we
sadly see that the unmentionable, small and isolated cases of Holocaust
exploitation lead to the gravest excesses.
And so we read in the Flemish daily De Standaard (02/03/2006) about the trial
of an 80 year old man before a criminal court for charges of raping underage
children. As with many trials of a certain sensitive nature, this one was also
held behind closed doors. The reason for that appeared later on. In 2003 the
defendant molested up to seven children near a swimming pool of a recreational
domain and a play garden, seven children that were all under five years of
age.
This serial child rapist received an absolute meager five years in jail.
Five, that is about the average age of the children he raped and that will be
emotionally and physically scarred for the rest of their lives. Five, even less
than the amount of seven young children he raped. Belgium which internationally
still is associated with the drama of 1996 and which is also internally
struggling with a post-Dutroux complex (the serial pedophile who ran a prostitution
ring) committed the worst imaginable public relations. Although the tolerance
for pedophiles among magistrates and judges ended abruptly since Dutroux'
arrest, this 80 year old recidivistic child molester received an historically low
sentence of five years. Thanks to the Lejeune-legislation he most probably
will only have to spend one third of this sentence in a cell.
Then what is the reason that a recidivistic pedophile can account for so much
goodwill? According to the defense the culprit is "traumatized" of his
imprisonment at the Auschwitz concentration camp where he allegedly "had been
tested on". This completely prefabricated, fictitious account of an alleged
treatment by the miracle doctor Mengele could only hail from the Holocaust mythomania
of Lanzmann, Wiesenthal and others. The fact that a judge succumbed for this
fabric of lies and clearly disregarded the unmentionable suffering of these
seven children, proves once more the thorough psychological tyranny and
paralyzing of the West. Whoever mentions the magical code word "Holocaust" can
account for the biggest, unconditional understanding. At the same time the most
incompetent Belgian minister of foreign affairs, Karel De Gucht, felt the
insatiable need to criticize the Iranian ambassador in Belgium for the Iranian
tolerance of Holocaust revisionism and the promotion of anti-Zionism. That is the
psychologically disturbed and mentally colonized West the Arab commentators
should be criticizing whenever a Western country insults them.
Apart from the dozens of imprisoned revisionists we can observe an ever
larger plague coming over our heads: the conditioned Pavlovian reaction of
Westerners whenever a mythomanical Jew brings up the Holohoax and thus all rationale
must be abandoned. A serial child molester will be free again in one and a half
years, while his victims will bear the scars for a lifetime. The quest for
justice in the West colonized by Zionists seems a task for Sisyphus.

DAVID McCALDEN was born in 1951 into a working-class family in Belfast,
Northern Ireland. He was educated at the University of London, Goldsmiths' College
and graduated with a Certificate in Education (Sociology) in 1974. From 1972
until 1977 he was involved with various movements for the preservation of
British national integrity, traditions, wildlife and environment. In 1978 he moved
to California and established the Institute for Historical Review, and became
its Director and Editor-in-Chief. Since 1981 he was a freelance writer,

book Nuremberg & Other War Crimes Trials (1978) was written under the

The exciting new field of Psychohistory has opened up vast new opportunities
for those in search of enlightenment on the origins of contemporary social
problems. EXILES FROM HISTORY examines the synchronicity of events and attitudes

quickly degenerate into mobocracy and then into tyranny."
You're being badly informed. Our republic is a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC.

Jefferson knew that the far greater tyranny is minority rule: "How soon the

(1825), having seen laid out behind him millennia of despotic dictators and

"How long can households sustain negative savings?"
USA Today posed the same question yesterday that we did, but the USA Today
hacks had an answer: a long, long time.
Americans own about $62 trillion worth of assets, they tell us. Even if
they were to sell them off, mortgage them, and squander them at the rate
of $1 trillion per year, that would still give them 62 years. Then, the
Chinese might own every light bulb, trailer, and Elvis painting in the
entire country. But it would have been a fun 62 years, right?
If it only worked that way!
The trouble with wealth is that it is not distributed as neatly and
equally as the hacks tell us. Some people are flush with assets; others
have none. Most people have too few assets. There are millions and
millions of people who are already only a step from being paupers. They
already count on credit cards, mortgage refinancing, Christmas bonuses and
extra hours of work just to keep going. As the national savings rate dips,
these people do not calmly lower their own savings rate from, say 10% to
8%. They had no money to start with and now they will be forced to borrow
just to keep up with bills.
But why should they have to save for a rainy day, they asked themselves
distant years ago, when there is so much ready credit just lying around
begging to be given away? Hey, if they get themselves in a jam there'll
always be another shiny plastic card in the mail to bail them out. The
fine print can wait. They'll just borrow and borrow.
And why shouldn't they? They are urged by economists to do so. Americans
don't really need to save...because Asians save enough for themselves and
everyone else in the world. And these poor Asians desperately need someone
to take all that money off their hands. What could be nicer than doing
them a favor? It's as if we blasted a hole in the back wall of some Asian
bank and can take their money whenever we want.
"Suffering from the greatest domestic saving shortfall in modern history,"
explains Stephen Roach, " the United States is increasingly dependent on
surplus foreign saving to fill the void. The net national saving rate -
the combined saving of individuals, businesses, and the government sector
after adjusting for depreciation - fell into negative territory to the
tune of 1.3% of national income in late 2005. That means America doesn't
save enough even to cover the replacement of its worn-out capital stock.
This is a first for the US in the modern post-World War II era - and I
believe a first for any hegemonic power over a much longer sweep of world
history."
Well, there's a first time for everything. This is also the first time any
people have ever had such ready access to so much credit. But is a credit
card really as good as money in the bank? Are Asian savers really prepared
to lend us as much money as we want whenever we need it? On those two
questions dangles the empire's financial future. But who bothers to ask?
We do, dear reader. We will even bother to answer them.
If a rainy day were to come, the difference between savings and credit is
the difference between owning a snug pair of galoshes of your very own and
having to borrow a pair from that strange lady next door. Will she have a
pair that will fit you? Will she be home when you ring the bell? What will
she ask in return? Does she even have any galoshes?
You just don't know...
Which brings us to the second part of the question: can America count on
Asians for its savings needs? That question answers itself readily, too.
The Chinese, of course, are such dear and trusted neighbors. Helping rich
capitalists finance their extravagant lifestyles is what they live for; we
all know that. It just warms the heart of the Chinese laborer - a selfless
soul, working 12 hours a day in an unheated factory - to know that it is
his savings that help Americans pay for their air-conditioned garages and
for cable TV in every room. And the Japanese...have they not been reliable
allies and helpmates ever since Admiral Perry discovered them?
Yes, dear reader, you can stop worrying on that score. Asians have too
much money. They will always be only too happy to lend it to us at less

But wait, you say. At 5%, the poor fellows are losing money. Domestic
inflation in America is said to be 3%, but who believes it? And on the
world market, prices for the things Asians need - oil, copper, wheat, gas,

months. The U.S. balance of trade is $700 billion in deficit. The U.S.
federal budget is $500 billion in deficit. Why would he continue to lend
money to the world's biggest debtor at 5%...when his own hard costs are
rising at 10% to 20% per year and when he can get 30% just by holding
safe, sure gold?
Well, say the economists, because the U.S. dollar is the world's reserve
currency and because he needs it to buy oil and those other things. But
does he? This month, Iran has promised to start selling its oil for euros.
And even if oil were still sold for dollars, there's no guarantee that the
price won't change. The foreigner may be better off holding his money in
euros, yen, yuan or better yet, in gold. He can always exchange for
dollars at the last moment and at, perhaps, a better rate.
How long can Americans sustain negative savings? We don't know, but when
Asian savers figure out that that they are better off in gold than
dollars, U.S. householders are bound to start wondering about it.

They Just Don't Know when to Stop

The Executive Council of Australian Jewry are once again trying to
suppress Free Speech in Australia. Just a few years ago, they were
successful with putting Dr. Fredrick Toben behind bars for exposing
Jewish propaganda surrounding the Holocaust. They argued that it was
"hate speech" to deny their propaganda surrounding fictitious claims,
focusing on imaginary "homicidal gas chambers" that only ignorant
people on Prozac believe, though some liars and political plutocrats
feign belief.
I guess Australian Jews feel somewhat left out, as their cousins in
Europe are so busy locking up David Irving, Siegfried Verbeke, Ernst
Zundel, Germar Rudolf, etc., that they too feel they must turn the keys
on some Gentiles who dare to defy them. "Yes, let's imprison all who
dare to defy us!" the Jews seemingly proclaim to the world.
Now, Jews are trying to send Bro. Anthony Grigor-Scott to jail for
similar crimes as Dr. Toben. Bro. Grigor-Scott writes:
"For twelve years the Australian B?nai B?rith and their ADC, the
equivalent of the ADL in the States, have falsely persecuted and
defamed my Church and I through the national media on religious
pretexts. . . .
"We have always 'turned the other cheek.' However, for the past two
years they have taken their attack to the Human Rights and Equal
Opportunity Commission on racial grounds, as they cannot prosecute us
through the courts on the basis of religion.
"Since last August, we have been back and forth before the Federal
Court of Australia."
Sure--why not pick a Christian to torment? If you've ever opened up
the Bible and read the Book of John, you realize that it says some
rather unsavory things about Jews. Indeed, much of the Bible says
similar things as well, referring to the "Synagogue of Satan" and
people fearing Jews. So it should come as no surprise that Jews were
offended by Bro. Grigor-Scott, a Christian. First, they get Bro.
Grigor-Scott, then Jews can use that as a precedent to lock-up any
Christian who dares to defy them. After all, isn't the Bible "hate
speech," according to Jews? Pastors in Canada are already being locked
up on similar laws, so why stop there?
If you've ever wondered how utterly ruthless and hateful Jews can be
when they think that they have the upper-hand, using catch-phrases and
evoking sympathy and pity while on the attack, please take a look at
this diatribe of theirs below.
Of course, at the conclusion, they say that they merely want an
"apology," not that they deserve it, and the material that bothers them
removed; however, in reality, this is the same train-of-thought that
they used when they persecuted Dr. Toben for his thought-crimes, which
led to his imprisonment for about a year. They come in and feign
dignity yet engage in ruthless, underhanded, hateful measures to
suppress any who recognize their propaganda-filled lies.
You will see how they work, trying to erode Free Speech and send
anyone to jail who dares to defy them. Don't believe them for a minute
that they merely want an "apology"; look at what happened to Dr. Toben.
Why should he lose his job and spend a year in jail for these
ridiculous thought-crimes? And why should Olga Scully, Bro. Scott, and
others suffer similarly?
Jews say that Bro. Grigor-Scott's website "offends, insults,
humiliates, and intimidates Jewish Australians." Well, I think that's
just too bad.
When I was but a child, I heard a rhyme that Jews might heed:
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me."
Still, I suppose the mighty "Executive Council of Australian Jewry"
feels as if it's somehow special. After all, aren't they supposed to be
God's Chosen Race? Who knows why they think that they can just go
around like some sort of arrogant lords and tell us "lowly" non-Jews
what we can and can't say. They're just a little better than the rest
of us--aren't they?
Yes, it's OK if you're a Jewish editor and publish jokes about
Muslims. But, if you're not a Jew, you better keep your mouth shut when
it comes to Jews--they say. Ask the cartoonist Robert Edwards who had
to spend a year in jail for making cartoons about Jews.
These Jews just won't stop; they're like the Energizer Bunny on crack.
If people don't like Jews, perhaps Jews should take a moment and ask,
"Why?"
Of course, they never realize that their own actions are what really
annoy people, doing things like this and putting others in jails for
their thoughts; it seems that Jews forever live in a paranoid-state of
mind and somehow believe that no one likes them for no good
reason--just "blind hatred," they argue.
Now, logically, since laws are in effect in Australia to outlaw
"hate," the Jews' Talmud should be outlawed; and their synagogues
should be monitored by the Thought Police. After all, the Jews'
Babylonian Talmud is indeed a vile, supremacist, hate-filled jeremiad.
If you search the works of the KKK, the Nation of Islam, the National
Council of La Raza, the World Creativity Movement--the most
anti-Semitic works wherever they may be--you won't find any work as
hateful and mean-spirited as the Jews' Talmud.
Of course, for merely recognizing the fact--and it is a fact that
cannot be debated--Jews will of course come back and call me the
"hater." According to Jewish-logic, if you expose their hatred, then
you're a "hater." Typical nonsense. But you expect so much from these
Jewish supremacists nowadays, always whining and complaining about
something, lamenting to the world that they're some sort of Chosen Race
akin to God Himself and that to argue otherwise makes one an
"anti-Semite."
But it is the truth. The Jewish Talmud is vehemently anti-Gentile. The
Jews' Talmud says that Mary is a "harlot," and that Christians "inherit
hell." The Jews' jeremiad then promulgates that Jesus is boiling in
"hot semen" (their disgusting, hate-filled words, not mine). The Jews'
Talmud says that they can just leave Gentiles in a big pit to die, if
it so pleases them. Their Talmud says it's OK to cheat Gentiles. That
hate-filled jeremiad known as the Babylonian Talmud also has an area
referred to as Kol Nidre, in which it says all future vows are null and
void in the forthcoming year with Gentiles--a statement that they
recite every year, in their minds giving them tacit approval to rip
Gentiles off at jewelry stores, or wherever Jews might be in large
masses--and perhaps helping to explain the mentality of 1,000-percent
mark-up that is so prevalent among jewelers. It states that if a
non-Jew kills a Jew, then he gets death; if a Jew kills a non-Jew, no
death. Keep in mind that these same laws, these Jewish Oral Laws, also
govern Israel. The Jews' Talmud even says, "The best among Gentiles
deserves to be killed." Talk about hate! And, not only that, the Talmud
is disgusting and promotes pedophilia; it says that it's OK for Jews to
"mess around" with a three-year-old, and it says that in more than one
spot. I only wish I was making up this stuff; I only wish.
Indeed, it seems that Jews often pretend to be persecuted; but, while
moaning and groaning about this imaginary persecution, they
concurrently and secretly work to suppress anyone who recognizes their
hateful ways. In some cases, it has been demonstrated, Jews even commit
bogus "hate crimes" against themselves in an effort to elicit sympathy,
to get laws to "protect" them against the fictitious "haters," and, of
course, to raise significant funds that Jews can use to further
suppress any dissent--often using such money to get their way through
the plutocratic-process.
Take a look at the letter the Australian Jews sent directly below, as
it illustrates their mentality perfectly--that people who oppose them
or say things that they don't like should be sent to jail.

Dr. Baruch Kappel Goldstein (commonly called Barukh Goldshteyn in Israel) (December 9 or December 12, 1956 -- February 25, 1994) was a Jewish American-Israeli physician who killed 29 Muslims and injured 125 in a 1994 shooting attack in the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, West Bank. Born in Brooklyn, New York to an Orthodox Jewish family, Baruch Goldstein was a direct descendant of the Baal HaTanya, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of the Chabad Lubavitch movement. His family also had close ties to modern-day Israel, as members of his family were murdered in the Hebron riot of 1929. Goldstein attended religious day school, Yeshiva University and Albert Einstein Medical School. He was a charter member of the Jewish Defense League, founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane and, like many of his Zionist peers, looked forward to making aliyah and contribute to Israeli society. After emigrating to Israel, he served as a physician in the Israeli Defense Force, first as a conscript, then in the reserve forces. Here, he gained notoriety for refusing to treat non-Jews, even those serving in the IDF. When Goldstein was threatened with court-martial he declared:
I am not willing to treat any non-Jew. I recognize as legitimate only two [religious] authorities: Maimonides and Kahane.[1]
Following the end of his active duty, Goldstein worked as a physician and liv ed in the Kiryat Arba settlement near Hebron, where he served as the Chief Medical Officer. Goldstein is best known for having killed 29 Muslims during Friday prayers on Purim day, February 25th, 1994, in the Cave of the Patriarchs--the burial site of Biblical figures Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, and Leah--which is considered holy to both Muslims and Jews. After being subdued with a fire extinguisher, Goldstein was beaten to death by survivors. Rioting immediately followed the shooting , leading to the deaths of another 26 Palestinians and 9 Israelis.Testimony at the Israeli inquiry raised the possibility that Goldstein had an accomplice--two Israeli army guards testified that a second settler entered the Cave of the Patriarchs on February 25 shortly after Goldstein did, and that when Goldstein went into the tomb he was armed with a gun different from the Galil assault rifle found on his body. The second settler was carrying a Galil, they said. This testimony was never confirmed, and a commission of inquiry established by Chief Justice Meir Shamgar found that Goldstein had acted on his own. Goldstein is not known to have given any reasons for his actions. However immediately after the attack Mike Guzofsky, spokesman for Kahane Chai in New York and a close friend of Goldstein said, "He wanted to stop the peace process dead. He couldn't have picked a better day - Purim, when Jews fight back." [3]At Goldstein's eulogy Rabbi Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba, another of his close friends in the Kach group, stated, "Goldstein could not continue to bear the humiliations and shame nowadays inflicted upon us; this was why he took action for no other reason than to sanctify the holy name of God." The Goldstein family had requested that he be buried in the ancient Jewish Cemetery of the Martyrs in Hebron, but this request was not granted. Goldstein's tombstone reads:
Here lies the saint, Dr. Baruch Kappel Goldstein, blessed be the memory of the righteous and holy man, may the Lord avenge his blood, who devoted his soul to the Jews, Jewish religion and Jewish land. His hands are innocent and his heart is pure. He was killed as a martyr of God on the 14th of Adar, Purim, in the year 5754 (1994).
Over the years, the site became a pilgrimage site for those with right-wing political leanings. The Local Religious Council of Kiryat Arba declared the gravesite a memorial and a properly constituted cemetery. Sidewalks, spotlights, streetlights, a cupboard with prayer books and pedestals with candles were installed by supporters. Many of these were paid for by Dov Dribben. Eventually, the site had the appearance of a small shrine. An editorial in The Jewish Chronicle written by Chaim Bermant denounced the Kach organisation to which Goldstein belonged as "Neo-Nazis" and an American creation, funded by American money and a product of American gun culture.

Ku Klux Klan fliers that were distributed in a Suffolk apartment complex last week came from a black tenant who wanted to shock young African-Americans, Suffolk police said Thursday.
Fliers that have surfaced on doors at the Heritage Acres Apartments on Nansemond Parkway in Suffolk last week were not distributed by the white supremacy group. Tenants complained to police about the fliers, which contained a headline "KKK congratulates gang bangers for slaughter of black people" and racially charged comments.
In the wake of Suffolk's recent brush with youth violence, the woman who distributed the fliers wanted to shock young black people in the area, police said.
So far the woman is not being charged with a crime and may not get charged at all because of protection of freedom of speech, said Lt. Debbie George with the Suffolk Police department.
