Israel slaps the U.S. - and slaps again

Israel has in recent days delivered not one but two slaps to its closest ally.
The first came in remarks by ex-Shin Bet chief and senior Kadima candidate Avi Dichter, speaking of negating the road map and moving on to a policy of unilateralism - in contrast to statements by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in her joint news conference with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.
The second was delivered via a USAID report, which corroborated the claims of Palestinians that Israel was failing to keep promises it had made to Rice, a situation which according to the study could bring about economic catastrophe, beginning with the destruction of the Gaza hothouses project, which Washington had so strongly supported.
Since her return from her first visit as foreign minister to Washington last month, Tzipi Livni has been boasting of her tight cooperation and ties of coordination with her counterpart Rice. However, it appears that she has no similar relations with Dichter, who is placed a few slots after her on Kadima's Knesset candidate list, because the former Shin Bet chief's plan to replace the road map peace plan with unilateral moves amounts to a slap in the face to Livni's new friend in the American State Department.
Here are the main points in Rice's answer to a question that came up during a joint Livni and Rice press conference, regarding the no-partner approach and the option of unilateral acts:
"We certainly hope that over the next period of time that there will be a partner for Israel to deal with," Rice replied. "That is everyone's hope for the roadmap. That depends on what happens in the Palestinian territories. The United States position on this is very clear and remains the same. No one should try and unilaterally predetermine the outcome of a final status agreement. That's to be done at final status," Rice said.
Rice made it clear that President George Bush's letter to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon regarding the need to take into consideration the demographic reality created in the West Bank since 1967 does not pave the way for anyone to "try and do that in a preemptive or predetermined way, because these are issues for negotiation at final status."
Perhaps Dichter is not the only Israeli politician who is not impressed by America's No. 1 diplomat. Bassem Jaber, CEO of the Palestine Economic Development Company (PED) is learning this from his own experience. The company he heads bought the Gush Katif hothouses, and because Israel closed the Karni crossing, it throws away thousands of vegetable crates every day and is sending its employees home.
U.S. envoy James Wolfensohn, Secretary of State Rice and the European Union "they all promised that the crossings would not be an obstacle," he says, and notes the millions of dollars invested in rehabilitating the hothouses, including donations from Israelis and American Jews.
According to Jaber, sleepless nights and determination bore fruit, mainly strawberries. The hothouses provide jobs for some 6,000 workers. All this is going down the drain because of Israel's decision to close the crossing. The direct losses amount to $70,000-$100,000 a day, and the total damage is much greater. Jaber expects that if Rice and other involved parties continue to ignore their obligations, he would have to close shop.
A recent World Bank report, which states that Israel is not carrying out the agreement regarding the crossing between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (Haaretz, March 6), confirms that Rice is not making any impression on Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz.

MPs urge leniency for young muggers in gangs

Young muggers who are part of a gang should receive more lenient
sentences because they are often under pressure from friends and
unscrupulous adults to join in, according to MPs.
The Commons home affairs select committee has suggested that
juvenile robbers should be able to plead lack of maturity in mitigation
and get a lesser penalty.
The MPs were commenting on new rules issued to the courts last year by
the Sentencing Guidelines Council, which advises judges and magistrates
on how to punish offenders.
The council proposed that juvenile robbers who use "minimal force"
should not normally go to jail and that the sentencing starting point
should be a community service order, an approach endorsed by the
committee.
But the MPs also argue that where children are involved in a group,
greater latitude should be given. "Peer pressure, the influence of
adults and the very uneven rates of development for 10- to 17-year-olds
might be mitigating factors for young offenders in particular," their
report says.
"Group activity, much more common among the young, may need to be
viewed in a different way."
The report adds: "Young offenders are capable of rapid change and
delayed development may be an argument for more intensive requirements
to tackle individual difficulties at an early stage and to encourage
individuals' progress towards maturity and responsibility."
The committee accepted that immaturity or challenging family
backgrounds should not necessarily result in a lesser sentence but that
"guidance should aim to ensure the sentence contains all the elements
necessary to ensure the successful rehabilitation of the offender".
The proposal was denounced by David Davis, the shadow home secretary,
even though there are Tories on the Commons committee.
"Peer pressure is virtually un-provable and this would represent a
virtual get-out-of-jail- free card for the cynical type of criminal that
would take part in violent robbery in the first place," he said.
Police chiefs say that most robberies are carried out by gangs of
youngsters after items such as 3G mobile telephones and Ipods. More than
half of convicted robbers are between 16 and 20.

not find anything illegal at all.

"March 10, 2006 - They came by the thousands from all over the Midwest, many of them immigrants, all angry about a tough new immigration bill proposed in Congress. Chicago police estimate as many as 100,000 people rallied downtown."
Is anyone taking a close look at this demonstration? Does this demonstration really appear to be spontaneous as the reports intimate? Does anyone out there in TV land understand the logistics of getting 100,000 people assembled for ANY reason, let alone a demonstration? Don't the American Tellitubies remember the sixties? Surely those who lived through those times remember the civil rights and anti-war protests. This might be a good time to go back and review how those apparently "spontaneous" anti-war protests were put together. The Jewish involvement in the planning and executions for the sixities demonstrations has now been made perfectly clear. Now that all that sixties stuff is ancient history, like their Russian revolution, jews take a great deal of delight in bragging about their critical role in staging these protests and how these demonstrations took weeks and sometimes months of carefully planning and yet were made to appear as a spontaneous, heartfelt, outburst by "the people". It was a small hard core group of jews that set up the protest and then it was their stupid, leftist, useful idiots who actually did the legwork of spreading the word and recruiting people for those protests. So lets take a closer look at this current protest; as the Mogombo might say, here is a Big Fucking Clue (BFC):

The rail system experienced an increase of 5,500 passengers coming into the city throughout the morning hours, according to Pardonnet.
Two additional trains, one on the Milwaukee West line and one on the Union Pacific Northwest line, were added during the 3:00 p.m. hour and more would be added if needed, she said."
Wait a minute, the 'skins are given a price break to accommodate their transportation needs to man the demonstration and then the Metra (is this some sort of Mexican feminine gender twist on Metro?) is ready and waiting to supply extra trains of necessary? Excuse the fuck out of me, but doesn't this smack ever so slightly of HIGHLY ADVANCED PLANNING on the part of the city?
Can anyone out there in TV land see the same modus operandi at work in this demonstration protest against Sensenbrenner 's immigration bill? However, I feel this particular dog and pony show goes one step further than the old protests of the sixties. I cannot say whether James Sensenbrenner is a jew, but the name seems to fit and the political action he is taking on this issue certainly does fit the jew MO. This whole thing was a setup to actively demonstrate to the white bovina just how hopeless it is to try stopping immigration by political means. Sensenbrenner plays devil's advocate by setting up a bill that he knows will spark a protest among the Mexicans. While Sensenbrenner is busy playing outraged politician, his staff is busy keeping the minority rabble rousers posted as to exactly how and when the bill will be introduced thereby giving the Mexican rabble rousers plenty of time to get the word out and recruit protesters. Then the whole act is brought together at exactly the right time and presto! the white bovina get a clear media moment, snapshoot of the massive protest showing the hopelessness of any politician actually addressing the issue of reducing or eliminating immigration. And then there are the ancillary benefits of getting plenty of exposure for brown nosed opinions from the crowd. Check out the comments,
"This law is against residents, against human rights, against everybody in the park," said Robert Herrera, supports immigrant rights. Those taking part in the march say the bill discriminates against people who want to be productive members of society.
"We work our way up. We want to be here, we love this country, and that's why we came here," said Norma Cornejo.
Protestors were draped in flags of their native countries, as well as the American flag. They were joined by busloads of people from all over the Midwest.
"We're in this country not to destroy it but to make it rich with whatever it is that we can," said Alberto Calvillo, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The crowd marched into the Loop for a rally at the Dirksen Federal Building, where politicians echoed their disgust with the bill.
"This is a fight that includes every American. Those who are undocumented, we're not gonna make criminals out of them. That is not what America has ever stood for and we will not stand for it," said Mayor Daley.
Not only does this protest clearly telegraph the hand-wringing over just how hamstrung politicians are due to overwhelming opposition, it also gives the brown nosed protesters a perfect platform to point out how the whole idea of anti-immigration is simply anti-American. I ask again, Isn't the dog and pony show evident in this carefully staged propaganda event?
Then there is this gem: "Before the massive march, another rally by those in support of the anti-immigration bill. They say the legislation is not racist and that it protects the country and its citizens." So where are the ten million anti-immigrant protesters? Or are we to believe that there simply aren't that many people interested in stopping unrestricted immigration? Perhaps the anti-immigration folks were all down defending the southern border that day - since they didn't have the protestor's inside line to the politico's schedule - ya think?
Now some bovina have to be weathermen to know which way the winds blows and since they aren't, weathermen that is, they might not catch on to the "hopeless" concept staged by this protest. For those who so dense as to miss the major point presented by this protest, the jews are standing by with a bitch slap to wake up the truly dense among the herd.
'The march tied up traffic Friday afternoon, making it hard for commuters to get home. Extra police were called in to help and Metra had to put extra trains into use."
Back during the sixties civil rights protests, the jews actually had to incite their Negro Golem to tear things up and burn things down. Not that the Negro needs any prodding to motivate their naturally destructive tendencies, but in those days the Negro still lived in mortal fear of white force. The jew had to convince their Golem that by and large, even if the po-lice weren't on their side, the courts were most supportive of their "plight" as blacks. Once the dumbass negro actually saw the lack of any real rope retaliation for their depredations, the party was on! And after a few burn down, drag out, city wide confrontations, Negro Golem violence became an effective means to cow whites into submission. In fact it was so effective that after a while all it took was the threat of violence to keep the whites submissively in line. Today the whites are so timid and mice like that all the jew has to do is tie them up in traffic for a few hours and make them late for dinner to demonstrate the "threat" presented by the muycheesmo Messikins.

The bovina have become so dumbed down and so timid that, unlike Avis, jews obviously don't even feel the need to try hard anymore. The jews are using the same tired, old, MO they used during the sixties protests, only this time they are simply setting up a stage show to demonstrate how politics MUST address this issue. Former German synagogue hosts performance artist, wants to spotlight 'banality' of Holocaust remembrance
A Spanish performance artist on Sunday transformed an unused synagogue into a gas chamber as part of a project to draw attention to the Holocaust.
According to German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur, Santiago Sierra directed the poisonous exhaust fumes from six cars into the former place of worship in the small town of Pulheim, near the city of Cologne.
Visitors wearing breathing equipment were allowed inside the synagogue one at a time in the company of a fireman to spend a couple of minutes walking around the carbon-monoxide-filled room.
The 39-year-old Sierra said in a statement he was trying to draw attention "'to the banality of remembrance of the Holocaust."
The agency said Sierra, an internationally known artist who lives in Mexico City, has staged other "provocative" exhibits in the past, including tattooing the backs of six Cuban men and dying the hair of Africans blonde in order to make them look European.
The Pulheim project, called 245 Cubic Meters, is scheduled to take place on Sundays except for Easter Sunday until April 30.
The former synagogue has not been used as a place of prayer since the 1920s. Annual art events have taken place there every year since 1991.
In an initial reaction, the Central Council of Jews in Germany condemned the action as 'an insult to the victims' of the Holocaust.

The setup to destroy America

Failure to recognize what's really happening and who is really behind current events is going to cost us our lives, our country and our planet.
Although the thought has been in my mind for decades, it took a trailer from the controversial new Turkish movie "Valley of
the Wolves" to jar my consciousness into really recognizing what is happening.
America is being set up to take the fall for everything that's wrong with the world.
In the movie, Americans are portrayed as heartless killers, reminding me of the way Germans were portrayed as the evil
perpetrators of World War II. And I sensed at that moment that very soon, if not already, Americans are going to be the
targets of a worldwide backlash that will be far worse than anything the Germans ever experienced.
And rightly so, because what Americans have done to Iraq, Afghanistan and so many other countries is far worse than
anything the Germans ever did to anyone.
But have you ever thought about the common factor that links Americans and Germans in their tragic fall from grace in the
eyes of the world?
Created from well-known accounts of real events, the principal scene in "Valley of the Wolves" shows ruthless U.S. soldiers
shooting up a wedding party in Iraq, butchering women and children, and then reveling in it, like they were slaughtering
beings whom they regarded as less than human. Wonder where that idea came from?
I remembered a similar story in the real news from Afghanistan a few years back that curdled my blood, and was mostly
covered up by mainstream media. And of course you've heard variations on this story for decades from that tortured
territory called Palestine, and more lately, Iraq.
But this sense of foreboding about what is happening to Americans - how they have become mindless killer robots who
enthusiastically rationalize the need to torture innocent people - led me to realize that the movie lacks one important
component.
Namely, who is behind this reversion to barbarism and senselessness? How did all this come to pass, where the country
known for its freedom and tolerance had suddenly turned totalitarian, and was even persecuting its own citizens who wanted
accountability and justice, or even wanted to ask legitimate questions?
And why is it almost no one can see or describe it, or, for most, even fail to recognize what has happened, never mind bring
it up in polite conversation?
How have Americans become so blind to the pain they are inflicting on the world, even as through draconian new laws they
are actually inflicting the same pain on themselves?
The process of the perversion of America from a nation of God-fearing, community-loving folks didn't happen overnight.
Some people say it took about a century and a half. But over the past 50 years, Americans has morphed from a
compassionate sanctuary for the oppressed into the world's worst oppressors themselves.
Why? And how?
It all involves the subject we can't talk about. If you mention a certain word, otherwise competent news organizations won't
touch the story. Ordinary people cringe at the mere mention of it. Many supposedly democratic countries have passed laws
prohibiting even discussion of this topic.
Yes, it's the elephant in the living room again.
What if the mysterious force behind all of these atrocities is the very same bunch that has provided all the information you
have ingested throughout your life? How will you ever detox from deception if the very tools you have been given to think
and act in this world were provided by the same folks? Which they have.
Think about the decline in morals we have experienced in the last half-decade that has turned young females from prim
ingenues committed to marriage, family and community into pill-popping prostitutes with no hope for anything except
luxurious servitude. How do you think that happened, or who made that happen?
Think about newspapers, TV, and movies, and how they're willing to tear down America, its people, and its religions, but
always fail to mention one particular group, the same group that is behind all the changes, and owns all these media outlets.
Think about politicians that have all been bought off by so-called special interests, but when journalists report on these
matters, they don't tell you who these people really are. They only use vague labels, like New World Order, Communists or
Illuminati, without telling you that these are all synonyms for the same group.
Think about supposedly progressive commentators like Noam Chomsky, Jeff Blankfort and William Blum, who will eagerly
describe every American depredation they can catalog, yet never mention the motivating factor that changed the behavior of
Americans. What factor do these three writers have in common?
Think about every elected official in this country, particularly in Congress, who won't make a single decision without first
checking with a certain group, because not to do, as everyone knows, would mean political suicide?
Do you see any connection between this subject that in your self-absorbed pragmatism you deem it imprudent (and
unprofitable) to mention, and the intensification of atrocities that are done in your name?
Because you are unwilling to do so, you are about to lose your life, your country and your planet.
And all because you didn't see that some people who pretend to mouth platitudes that seem progressive, compassionate,
and reasonable to you were simply being disingenuous.
You refused to see that some people say one thing but mean something else. And because of that, you have made their
agenda your agenda, without even noticing that your decision cost you everything and them nothing.
Do you think, at that moment when you draw your final breath, you will finally understand that you have been misled?
Now is the time to think about such things, because that moment draws ever closer and will arrive soon.
Don't you see that you have not done all this to yourself, but that someone else has? And that your failure to recognize and
identify who has deceived you, who has changed the shape of your life to suit their own needs, has robbed you of
everything you held dear.
The word you were afraid to utter, the group you were afraid to identify (for fear of loss of revenue), has become the very
factor that destroyed everything you hoped to love.
And still, in your fear, you do nothing, except maybe rail at the ready-made issues that have been constructed for you to
make you feel that you are doing something, when in reality they have been constructed to keep you from focusing on the
real problem.
Right now, if you harbor any hope of continued survival, you may wish to focus on that word you were always afraid to
mention, and understand what your fear of saying that word has done to you. In case you haven't noticed, it is about to
destroy your life, your country, and your planet.

Knight Ridder, the second-largest newspaper company in the United States, agreed Sunday night to sell itself for about $4.5 billion in cash and stock to the McClatchy Company, a publisher half its size, according to people involved in the negotiations.
The deal, which is expected to be announced Monday, comes as the newspaper industry is gripped by uncertainty. Readers have begun to drift away from printed newspapers as their Web sites have experienced sharp gains in use.
The sale could help assuage some investors who are nervous about the values of newspaper companies, however, because Knight Ridder commanded a premium of about 25 percent for its shares from the time it put itself up for sale in November under pressure from shareholders who were unhappy with performance of its stock.
Still, McClatchy, which is based in Sacramento and publishes The Sacramento Bee and The Minneapolis Star Tribune, among others, was the only major newspaper company to submit a final bid for Knight Ridder, publisher of 32 daily newspapers, including such venerable papers as The Miami Herald, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The San Jose Mercury News.
While it attracted interest from some big publishers, including Gannett, the largest chain in the United States, most major newspaper companies like The Washington Post Company, the Tribune Company and Dow Jones passed on the auction entirely, underscoring just how unsettled the biggest players are about their own business.
