US President George W. Bush said he hoped to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran with diplomacy, but warned Tehran he would "use military might" if necessary to defend Israel.

On the atomic dispute, Bush said he hoped "to solve this issue diplomatically" with a "united message" to Tehran from Washington, London, Paris, Berlin as well as Russia "hopefully" and China.
The message would be that "your desire to having a nuclear weapon is unacceptable," he said, adding, "While it is true that Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons and does not allow inspections, Jews are a special people. They can do whatever they want."

A 25-year-old man leaving a restaurant in Minneapolis' bustling Uptown area was shot in the head late Saturday, moments after his mother gave up her purse to two robbers without resisting, according to Minneapolis police and witnesses.
Authorities called the brazen and unprovoked attack near Calhoun Square the latest in a surge of violent robberies in the southwest Minneapolis precinct that includes the popular entertainment district.
The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. as the man and his mother, sister and a female friend were walking toward their car, which was parked on a residential block of Girard Avenue South near the Calhoun Square parking ramp.
Citing the family's preferences, police declined to identify the man, who was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Authorities said he was in critical condition Sunday.
Minneapolis police spokesman Ron Reier said the three women were not injured. He said police are asking for the public's help identifying the attackers. The suspects were described as wearing dark, hooded sweat shirts. [What race? They can take off their sweatshirts, but not their skin.] The men fled on foot, and at least one of them may have jumped into a white car parked in a nearby alleyway.
Police inspector Kris Arneson called the shooting unprovoked.
"What we know is there was not a struggle," she said. "The suspects ran, and there was a white car seen leaving the scene."
Family members were returning to their car after dining at a restaurant at the corner of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street with the man's mother, who was visiting Minnesota from Virginia, Arneson said. Police did not identify the restaurant.
Some Uptown residents said muggings and robberies have escalated throughout the busy entertainment district and asked for greater police protection.
"People flock from the suburbs to come here," said 23-year-old Mitch Skinner, a recent college graduate who moved into the area last year. "It's just creepy that it was a family going out to dinner."
Arneson, the precinct commander, said robbery reports in the southwest Minneapolis precinct have jumped about 67 percent since this time last year, climbing from 60 to 100. Aggravated robberies involving weapons or violence increased even more dramatically during the same period, doubling from 27 to 60, she said.
The precinct is bounded by Interstate 35W on the east, Interstate 94 to the north and the city limits on the west and south.
At a news conference Sunday, City Council Member Ralph Remington joined Reier and Arneson in promising greater numbers of officers in the area.
We are increasing the police presence," Remington said. "We have to be sure we find these suspects ... and we bring them to justice."
Officials said they did not know yet how many more officers would be deployed. That came as disappointing news to Ronald Barry, 36, who said he heard the shooting from his Girard Avenue apartment.
Barry said he immediately forced his two children and two visiting nephews to lie on the floor and then called 911. He ran out to find the gunshot victim bleeding profusely from his forehead and lying unconscious in the street, with one of the women screaming.
"There was no need to shoot the guy," said Barry, who was still shaken Sunday afternoon. He said he grew up in the neighborhood and had never witnessed such an act of violence. He said he had not slept since the incident. The robbers "obviously got what they wanted."
Arneson encouraged residents and visitors in the Uptown area to take precautions at night, such as walking in groups, carrying a cell phone, parking in ramps or lighted areas and staying alert.
Girard Avenue resident Justin Ellis, 22, said he fended off an early-morning mugger last August and wished police would step up patrols.
"You've got college kids walking around here drunk," Ellis said. "It's a prime target area."

Man defies state with private refuges
Minneapolis man's nonprofit ownership of wetlands for waterfowl breaks state law

BISMARCK, N.D. -- James Cook says running afoul of North Dakota law is worth it to protect ducks.
The 67-year-old Minneapolis precious-metal dealer and duck hunter is not giving up his fight to retain three private waterfowl refuges in North Dakota that the state says he obtained illegally.
Cook says his refuges were not ill-gotten. And he wants to buy even more wetland-rich parcels to protect ducks.
Cook, who lived in North Dakota as a boy, says the state is not doing enough to protect prime duck habitats. So he got out his checkbook. He is the sole member of two nonprofits that purchased land in the Dakotas and Minnesota for waterfowl protection.
The refuges are off limits to hunters.
"Since I was a youngster, I've seen the great flocks of waterfowl diminish," Cook said. He blames the reduction on over-hunting and fewer wetlands, which are "under attack all the time by agriculture interests."
"This is hugely important," Cook said. "Without waterfowl production from North Dakota, I don't know if you'd have much waterfowl hunting left anywhere."
The number of nonprofit groups allowed to buy land in North Dakota is limited under state law. The law, added to the state's ban on corporate farming in 1985, also requires government approval for land purchases, with the governor having the final nod.
Cook said North Dakota is the only state that does not allow private landowners to sell land to whomever they want.
Robert Carlson, president of the North Dakota Farmers Union, said the restriction is needed to stop groups from buying large tracts of farmland and taking it out of production.
"People don't want the state's resources owned by foreign corporations, basically," Carlson said.
The state says Cook bought three parcels of land without government approval, the most recent in 2003 and 2004. The state sued after Cook ignored Gov. John Hoeven's order to get rid of the land. The state is now asking a judge to force his nonprofit to give up property in Cavalier, Griggs and Ward counties.
"My foundation has owned the refuge in Ward County for over 20 years," Cook said. "They're asking us to divest something owned for about a quarter-century."
Cook retaliated by filing a lawsuit in federal court challenging part of North Dakota's corporate farming ban. He argued that North Dakota is violating the U.S. Constitution's protection of interstate commerce by regulating nonprofit groups' land purchases.
A federal judge dismissed Cook's suit late last year. The state's case likely is headed to trial later this year.
"I'm willing to take this to the Supreme Court, but I'd much rather have a positive settlement," Cook said.
Cook's Investment Rarities Inc. of Minneapolis deals in gold and silver coins, bullion and sterling silver flatware. Investment Rarities' Web site claims the company has done $2.5 billion in business in the past 30 years.
The Web site also features opinions by Cook and others on what he calls "Libertarian political viewpoints."
Cook's Crosslands Inc. owns 320 acres in Ward County, about 1,000 acres in Griggs County and 480 acres in Cavalier County.
Cook also is president of the Cook Waterfowl Foundation, a separate nonprofit that he said owns land in Minnesota and South Dakota.
The organizations have just one member: Cook.
"There are no contributors," Cook said. "I don't have anybody giving me money. It's my money."
Cook could end the legal battle by transferring the land from his nonprofits to himself, said Charles Carvell, an assistant state attorney general in Bismarck.
Cook said that's not an option. He said he wants to ensure the properties are never sold and are "kept as refuges for perpetuity."
Carvell said he does not doubt Cook's motive of protecting waterfowl. But he said Cook did not follow state law.
"He did not get the governor's approval," Carvell said. "Our job is to enforce the law and the wisdom of the Legislature."
Cook is well-known in duck hunting and wetland-protection circles. He said a number of groups support him but not publicly, "probably because they don't want to ruffle the feathers of politicians."
Ducks Unlimited, a hunters' group that buys and preserves wetlands, also would like to see an end to North Dakota's law that limits land sales to nonprofits, said Jim Ringelman, director of conservation programs for the Dakotas and Montana.
"It is onerous," Ringelman said.
Ringelman said his organization owns about 160 acres of land set aside for waterfowl habit. The land, he said, was a gift.
Ringelman called Cook a "highly principled conservationist." But he said his group has decided against joining Cook in his legal fight against the state.
"We felt he had his act together and in some ways didn't require our help," Ringelman said.
Ringelman and state and federal waterfowl biologists say ducks are doing well in North Dakota.
Mike Johnson, a biologist with the state Game and Fish Department, said a decline in the red fox population and mostly wet conditions in areas of prime duck habitat has helped boost duck numbers in the past decade.
"At the present time, it's as good as it's ever been," Johnson said.
Cook disagrees.
"The duck population is only a fraction of what it has been in my lifetime," he said.
Ron Reynolds, a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, said North Dakota has about 2.3 million acres of wetlands.
"We've pretty much lost half of the wetlands since settlement" of the state, he said.
Cook said North Dakota is out of step with other states, which want to protect wetlands.
"There is not a farm in eastern North Dakota that doesn't have a drainage ditch on it draining some little pond or wetland," Cook said.
His refuge in Ward County, in western North Dakota, "is an oasis of wildlife surrounded by nothing but farms," he said.
Doing battle in a state where he is considered an outsider won't be easy, or cheap.
"It's a real uphill struggle," Cook said. "I'm not a North Dakota guy."
But he wants a jury to hear his argument.
"By and large, most people in North Dakota have a good conservation ethic," he said. "I don't think anybody interested in wildlife conservation would be opposed to my attempts to secure more land for wildlife."

The menu at Beijing's latest venue for its growing army of gourmets is eye-watering rather than mouth-watering.
China's cuisine is renowned for being "in your face" - from the skinned dogs displayed at food markets to the kebabbed scorpions sold on street stalls - and there is no polite way of describing Guo-li-zhuang.
Situated in an elegantly restored house beside Beijing's West Lake, it is China's first speciality penis restaurant.
Here, businessmen and government officials can sample the organs of yaks, donkeys, oxen and even seals. In fact, they have to, since they form part of every dish - except for those containing testicles.
"This is my third visit," said one customer, Liu Qiang. "Of course, there are other restaurants that serve the bian of individual animals. But this is the first that brings them all together."
Guolizhuang's owner, who set it up in November, is proud to combine his own surname (Guo), his wife's (Li) and his son's nickname (Zhuang) into its title.
A booking comes with a trained waitress and a nutritionist in attendance, to explain the menu and to boast its medicinal virtues.
In China, you are what you eat, and The Daily Telegraph's nutritionist, Zhu Yan, said the clients were mainly men eager to improve their yang, or virility. Women could benefit, too, she added, although she told the Telegraph's female photographer: "I wouldn't recommend the testicles. The testosterone might interfere in fertility. But many women say bian is good for the skin."
Some dishes appear unexceptional, such as the simple goat penis, sliced, dipped in flour, fried, and served skewered with soy sauce.
But Guolizhuang also has its showpieces, such as the elegantly named "Head crowned with a Jade Bracelet" (provided by horses from the western Muslim region of Xin-jiang), for ?20 a portion, or "Dragon in the Flame of Desire" (yak, steamed whole, fried and flambéed) for ?35.
For beginners, Miss Zhu recommended the hotpot, which offers a sampling of what the restaurant has to offer - six types of penis, and four of testicle, boiled in chicken stock by the waitress, Liu Yunyang, 22.
The Russian dog was first. It was julienned, and rather gamey.
The ox was, of all six, the most recognisable for what it was, even though it had been diced. In texture seemed identical to gristle.
The deer and the Mongolian goat were surprisingly similar: a little stringy, they had the appearance and feel of overcooked squid tentacles. The Xinjiang horse and the donkey, on the other hand, were quite different. Though both came sliced lengthwise, and looked like bacon, the horse was light and fatty, while the donkey had a firm colour and taste. The testicles were slightly crumbly, and tasted better with lashings of the sesame, soy and chilli dips thoughtfully provided.
One speciality, Canadian seal penis, costs a hefty ?220, and requires ordering in advance. Miss Liu confessed that Guo-li-zhuang was an unusual place to work, partly because of her training - she has to recite tales proving the vigour of the animals in question as they are being eaten - and partly because of the interaction with the clientele. "I did find it embarrassing at first," she said. "And sometimes the customers take advantage of me by asking rude questions."
As for the supposed health benefits, Mr Liu, the most regular customer, was uncertain but hopeful. "I can't say I've noticed any difference yet," he said. "But it's a long-term thing."

for prescription drugs as a way to win votes, and then so botched the
execution that the elderly are just itching to go to the polls in November
to vote Democrat."

I thought this particular usage not only hilarious, but quite accurate.
In grade school we always had to use a new word in a sentence to demonstrate our understanding of its proper usage, so I will now attempt to demonstrate my proficiency at using the word "enormity". The enormity of the jew's complicity in the destruction of the trade towers is perhaps only exceed by the enormity of their lies about the holocaust.

Pirate radio's hip-hop tunes finding way to pilots' ears
These days, pilots at Miami International Airport are hearing something unexpected in their headphones: hip-hop from a pirate radio station.

It began with airline pilots reporting hip-hop songs playing on two frequencies from a station calling itself Da Streetz.
Authorities pinpointed the source of the transmission: a stucco-and-brick, two-story warehouse in Opa-locka. Joseph Zeller, a state agent, discovered a large radio antenna mounted on a tower next to the building.
Armed with a search warrant, he confiscated three computers, a monitor, a mixing board, a stereo compressor, a microphone, a two-deck CD player, a telephone, a DSL modem, two stereo speakers, three gray three-ring binders and 10 cases filled with CDs.
But no radio transmitter. And no disc jockey.
''No arrests. This is still an open case,'' said Paige Patterson-Hughes, a Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokeswoman.
Meanwhile, Da Streetz remains on the air.
The music from the pirate radio station has been so troublesome over the last month that a federal engineer who specializes in frequency transmissions has arrived in Miami to help investigators locate the signal.

(CNSNews.com) - A Second Amendment group calls it a "stunning reversal." After denying it for months, the City of New Orleans on Wednesday admitted that it does have a stockpile of firearms seized from private citizens in the days following Hurricane Katrina.
The city even took lawyers to the place where some 1,000 firearms are being stored.
"This is a very significant event," said attorney Dan Holliday, who represents National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment Foundation in an on-going lawsuit seeking to stop the city from seizing privately-owned firearms.
The city's disclosure came as attorneys for both sides prepared for a court hearing on a motion to hold the city in contempt. (On March 1, The Second Amendment Foundation and the National Rifle Association filed a motion to have New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and Police Superintendent Warren Riley held in contempt of court for refusing to comply with an injunction to stop illegal gun confiscations and return all seized firearms to their rightful owners.)
"We're almost in disbelief," said Second Amendment Foundation Founder Alan Gottlieb on Wednesday. "For months, the city has maintained it did not have any guns in its possession that had been taken from people following the hurricane. Now our attorneys have seen the proof that New Orleans was less than honest with the court."
Under an agreement with the court, the hearing on the contempt motion has been delayed for two weeks, and during that time, the city reportedly will set up a process to return the guns to their lawful owners.
"While we are stunned at this complete reversal on the city's part, the important immediate issue is making sure gun owners get their property back," Gottlieb said.
"What happened in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina was an outrage," he added. "Equally disturbing is the fact that it apparently took a motion for contempt to force the city to admit what it had been denying for the past five months."

In its continued effort to fight hate on the Internet, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today announced the release of ADL HateFilter Filter 2.0, a completely redesigned version of the League's unique software that blocks access to hundreds of hate sites on the Web. Powered by the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA), the free program is available at the League's Web site at www.adl.org/hatefilter.
"The explosion of growth in Internet use over the last few years has brought with it an increasing number of anti-Semitic and racist Web sites operated by hate groups," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "Since the release of the original HateFilter in 1998, the number of sites we routinely monitor has grown exponentially along with the number of Americans going online. While the Internet continues to be a boon for information and education, unfortunately there is a dark side of the Web that remains only a click away.
"ADL HateFilter Filter 2.0 is a free software tool that can be used by parents to ensure that their children do not stumble into a hate zone," Mr. Foxman added. "We are giving parents and caregivers the option to keep hate out of their homes."
ADL monitors hate on the Internet and provides information to law enforcement, the media and the public. In 1998, building on more than eight decades of experience in tracking hate groups, ADL made available its original filtering software, enabling computer users to block access to racist and bigoted sites. ADL HateFilter Filter 2.0 employs the same, carefully compiled list of hate sites used by the original HateFilter and blocks access to the dozens of bigoted sites that have appeared since.
Installation and configuration of the program is both quick and easy. ADL's Internet Monitoring Unit will provide regular updates of the software, which will be available free of charge on the League's Web site. To update the program, users can simply download a small file that installs itself in the filter.
ADL HateFilter Filter 2.0 uses the technology of ICRAfilter, a powerful filtering program that can block access to pornographic, violent and other online content that parents may find unsuitable for children. Though ADL is responsible only for its list of hate sites - which includes those run by neo-Nazis, white supremacists and Holocaust deniers - users of ADL Hate Filter 2.0 may use the program to block access to other sites. Parents may choose to activate rules that block or allow sites on the basis of the way those sites describe themselves, or use lists developed by other, trusted groups similar to ADL.
The filter was created as part of an international initiative to develop standards for responsible Internet use. ADL has an ongoing relationship with IRCA, a public-private international partnership that includes such Internet industry leaders as AOL, IBM and Microsoft.

We have a news flash for American women: the U.S. military doesn't exist to prepare you for college via financial aid and training. In fact, you shouldn't even be going to college anyway. You should instead be at home raising children like women did for many hundreds of years, until feminism showed up in force around 1970. And, do we need to remind you of which race birthed the feminist movement, of who convinced much of the public that men and women are the same except for their private parts? [1].
Finally, we wonder if the U.S. government will ever apologize to the public and especially to veterans for what it has done to our military - which is now a politically-correct social experiment when it isn't fighting high-tech wars for the Jews.
