We have chosen "not" to renew our contract with CNN.
We have had a great partnership with CNN but it is not the right alignment for our future. The longtime partnership has been very helpful to The Gallup Poll as it put us "back big" fifteen years ago when our famous Gallup Poll had lost most of its national coverage. Our CNN partnership helped us make a great comeback. We had a great run as we just cut our 4000th segment this week.
The Gallup Poll will go on with more polling than ever, but with new distribution channels.
WHY. 1) CNN has far fewer viewers than it did in the past and we feel that our brand was getting lost and diluted combined with the CNN brand. We have only about 200 thousand viewers during our CNN segments.
2) We are creating our own e-broadcasting programs and we don't want to be married to one broadcast network. We don't want to move to another network like CBS or Fox but rather become our own network. We cannot do this while married to CNN.
3) By dissolving our partnership with CNN we believe that Frank and other Gallup analysts will be seen as more independent so they will be more likely to be invited on a wide variety of television shows rather than primarily linked to CNN. We believe with this new found independence, we will get covered by more broadcast media because we are not the poll of their competitor.
4) We have enthusiastically renewed our print partner, USA Today. They have arguably the best readership of any newspaper in the world. It has approximately 2.4 mil subscriptions and 7.5 mil readers per day. Far more than the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal. And it has substantial international coverage for being a US paper. We also believe that print is a much needed way to present our polls for those interested in studying a chart or reading analysis.
In the big picture, USA Today supplies more than 10x the users per day than CNN. USA Today is our 800lb paperboy. Or the primary distributor of The Gallup Poll. We want to have two primary distribution channels. 1) USA Today and 2) e-Gallup News. We will go on any regular TV show for guest appearances because it will help build our e-viewership. We also will be featured on AOL's front page for news. The AOL e-distribution will likely add more eyeballs per day than all of CNN.

The Los Angeles march and rally for immigrant rights has the support of a large number of organizations and groups. The event has the potential of being the largest ever in the city's history. A big boost for the march and rally is the participation of labor unions such as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the Catholic Church whose Cardinal Rogelio Mahony has instructed his priests not to obey the proposed anti-immigrant Sensenbrenner Legislation if it becomes law.
Organizers of the LA march and rally have made provisions to protect the marchers after a well known racist made a threat on his website. Glenn Spencer of the anti-Mexican "American Border Patrol" wrote on his website today, "The American people should not be surprised if the long-expected Second Mexican War starts this Saturday". Glenn Spencer is formerly from Los Angeles but moved to the Arizona/Mexico border to harass Mexican migrant workers. Spencer, whose ancestors are migrants from England, has long advocated for a war with Mexico and often sites Caspar Weinberger, former Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan, and his book "The Next War" in which Weinberger writes that the USA is headed for a war with Mexico. There are extremely dangerous White nationalist groups in the USA such as the Minutemen Vigilantes that are itching for a shoot out with Mexicans and Mexican-Americans. They are just waiting for the right time to start a civil war and experts have speculated that they may "stage" a provocation in order to justify doing it.
We are hoping for a peaceful march and rally this Saturday. We must however be very alert for racist agent provocateurs that may want to utilize the event to start a riot. The situation in Los Angeles is presently very tense and we must not allow for people like Glenn Spencer to spark a major violent incident. "Buffett, chairman of the [Berkshire Hathaway] insurance and investment
firm, has been betting the U.S. trade deficit would weaken the nation's
currency since 2002. Between 2002 and 2004, Berkshire made $2.96 billion
on Buffett's bet against the dollar. Last year the company had $955
million in losses as the U.S. Dollar Index advanced 13 percent.
"'It's the consumer action in the end. We have no governmental policies to
counteract that we are sending a couple billion dollars a day abroad,'
Buffett said. 'We are buying goods and selling capital.'

Minneapolis Police try to calm residents' nerves after Uptown robbery and murder
The fatal shooting of a college student by muggers in the Uptown neighborhood over the weekend has prompted police to rethink their approach to patrolling the streets in the popular nightclub and shopping area.
Officer Ron Reier appeared live on 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS MORNING Wednesday to talk about the investigation of the Uptown murder and to try and ease fears of residents. "The Uptown area is still a very, very safe area," Reier said.
"We have a lot of information, and a lot of investigators working on the case," Reier said.
Crimes like these are "still very uncommon in Minneapolis, but metrowide and nationwide…to have this happen and to then to have someone be killed, this just doesn’t happen," he said.
Reier did not directly respond to reports that the two male suspects were Somalian, or East African. He said the victims did exactly what they should have done when they were confronted.
Robberies in Uptown have spiked several times in the past year, but police and residents said they generally consider it a safe neighborhood for the thousands of people who are drawn every day to the area.
Still, "there's increasing concern about violent crime here," said Christy Devens, 41, chairwoman of a local volunteer crime patrol. She thinks the area is safe, but said she's worried that worse times are ahead.
Phillip Rauk, 46, who lives less than a block from the robbery site said he already avoids streets in the area that aren't well lit. "I am leery going out at night," he said.
He found it particularly disturbing that strangers apparently shot an innocent person. "In this case, you could be a victim just (by) walking around," he said.
On Saturday night, two men approached Michael Zebuhr's mother, Suzanne Strong, near the Calhoun Square shopping center, and demanded her purse. Police said she complied, and the victims didn't put up a fight, but the men shot her 25-year-old son in the head anyway.
The suspects fled on foot, and may have eventually jumped into a car with a couple other people, police said.
The Police Department announced Tuesday that Zebuhr, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died of his wounds late Monday night at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
Zebuhr was a graduate student in the bioengineering program at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. He was in Minneapolis with his mother to visit his sister, who lives in the area.
Zebuhr was a 2005 graduate of Davis and Elkins College, a private Presbyterian school in Elkins, W.Va. Officials there said he received B.S. degrees there in chemistry and math. They said he was a student leader as well as a member of the school's ski team and an avid mountain biker.

If history is any indication, this emerging angle of the Zionist agenda will take around between six months to a year and a half to play out; so it would probably be around the last six months of Bush's term before the actual sacrifice is necessary. In the meantime the jews will be able to use Bush for all the evil they have planned, because they now have a reliable and well advertised scapegoat to assume the sins of their wickedness. Now what better way to set the stage for this dog and pony show than with actors and ex-gruberment officials asking pointed questions? For the past 4 1/2 years none of these great minds have shown the least interest in what happened to the trade towers, suddenly inquiring Hollywood minds want to know what really happened? Don't make me laugh.
The real question behind this jewish bullshit is what exactly are the jews aiming for; is the stage being set for some kind of coup? Are they planning on presenting a new dictator who will promise to cleanse the system and save the nation from the evils the Bush regime has wrought upon Amerikwa? Very likely the truly unforgivable sin will be the use of nuclear weapons for a preemptive strike in the Middle East; for that sin alone a Bush will by necessity have to sacrificed. In fact from a global standpoint such an act will undoubtedly be considered a crime against humanity. For that reason alone, Bush may be required to be made a blood sacrifice to atone for such execrable and loathsome evil. Most likely Bush is completely unaware of the requirements for a blood sacrifice, along with the fact that he could well be the intended target.
Time will tell what agenda is to be played out with this "awakening" of the "enlightened intelligentsia", but one thing is absolutely certain, the jews are 100% behind this new dog and pony show and the clowns leading the band provide conclusive evidence of that fact.

newly employed workers exchange the IOUs they earn for the real goods
the rest of the world produces. However, recent government action
blocking a Dubai company from purchasing U.S. ports, following similar
actions which prevented a Chinese company from acquiring Unocal Corp.
last year, may result in the world's producers finally reassessing the
"wisdom" of exchanging real merchandise for American IOUs that can
neither be redeemed for consumer goods nor assets.

A Tale of Two Farmers
Farmer Chang only grows oranges. Farmer Jones only grows apples. Each
grows only the fruit that he produces most efficiently, trading the
surplus for the fruit grown by the other. Both farmers benefit from
comparative advantage and free trade. The sole reason that Farmer
Chang "exports" oranges is to "import" apples, and vise-versa.
Suppose that one year a frost wipes out farmer Jones' apple crop. Not
having any fruit to trade, but hungry nevertheless, he proposes to
trade apple IOUs for farmer Chang's oranges. Since Farmer Chang cannot
eat all of the oranges he grew anyway, and since farmer Jones' IOUs
will pay 10% interest (in extra apples of course) he agrees.
Farmer Chang only accepts farmer Jones' offer because of the apples
that Farmer Jones' IOUs promise to pay. By themselves, the IOUs have
no intrinsic value. Farmer Chang cannot eat them. It is only the
promise to pay apples that gives them value.
Now suppose that the following year farmer Jones' crop is again
destroyed, this time by a flood. He and Farmer Chang once again make
the same deal, with Farmer Jones getting more of Farmer Chang's
oranges, and Farmer Chang accepting more of Farmer Jones' IOUs.
Further suppose that similar natural disasters continue to besiege
Farmer Jones for several more years, with Farmer Chang continuing to
accept Farmer Jones' interest-bearing apple IOUs in exchange for his
oranges. Eventually it dawns on Farmer Jones that he is eating pretty
well, without actually farming. He therefore decides to turn his apple
orchard into a golf course, and simply play golf all day while enjoying
Farmer Chang's oranges. In other words, Farmer Jones now operates a
"service economy."
Farmer Chang on the other hand is so busy growing all those oranges
that he never gets a chance to play Farmer Jones' course. In fact, he
has been accepting farmer Jones's IOUs for so long that he no longer
remembers his original reason for doing so. He forgot about his
original desire to actually eat the real apples Farmer Jones had
promised to deliver. Instead, he now counts his wealth based solely on
his accumulation of apple IOUs. In fact, Farmer Jones had such a good
reputation within the farming community that Farmer Chang was actually
able to trade some of Farmer Jones' IOUs for goods and services
provided by other farmers and local merchants. Apparently no one
bothered to notice that Farmer Jones' apple orchard had become a golf
course, and that his IOUs were therefore worthless, as he no longer
possessed the ability to redeem them with actual apples.
Some might argue that the entire community now depends on Farmer Jones
and his worthless IOUs and that everyone will accept them indifferently
rather than acknowledging the reality of their folly. Of course, were
these revelations to occur, any unfortunate holders of Farmer Jones'
IOUs would officially be forced to realize their losses. However,
their true financial situations would improve, as any further
accumulation of worthless IOUs would end. As for Farmer Chang, he
would literally once again enjoy all of the fruits of his labor.
The real loser of course would be Farmer Jones, for without a viable
apple orchard or the ability to buy oranges on credit, he would starve.
It would take years to transform his golf course back into an orchard,
regain his lost knowledge of farming, and replace his obsolete or
dilapidated farming equipment (provided he hadn't already traded it in
for golf carts and titanium clubs). In the end, his only alternative
might be to sell his golf course to farmer Chang and take a job picking
fruit in his orange grove.

Polygamy, or its living-together equivalent, is the secret fantasy of every man, not merely because it expands the potential of the bedroom, but because there is nothing like an extra woman or two to raise a man's status in the eyes of his lustful fellows. And polygamy has started to get a better press of late, because it is a phenomenon of the Muslim world, and the Muslims are involved in a serious effort to replace Western whites with skins of a darker hue and cry that are loyal to the famous heavenly candy bar, Allah Ak. But no matter how you slice it, polygamy is a crock. For one thing, a normal man doesn't need another woman in bed to have good sex, and in fact may discover that it is a burden if he has to satisfy two women rather than one. But if a second woman is not really necessary -- except perhaps for a man whose sexual powers have begun to wane, and who could therefore make good use of the stimulating support of an extra pair of educated hands -- there is a congeries of downsides to polygamy, including the expense of supporting two women and their children, and the jealousy and arguments that are bound to accompany two women in a single household (the Chinese character for 'trouble' is an ideographic rendering of two women under one roof). The strongest argument against polygamy, however, is that the bond between the man and each woman will in general be weaker and of lower quality than the bond between a man and single wife. This, perhaps, would not make much difference where the relationship of the man with the first wife was already superficial, as in cases where the woman is considered property or the man is preternaturally dominant; but in the standard Western marriage where the man and woman are linked by mutual affection and respect, the introduction of a second wife would have a profoundly negative impact on the relationship. This is perhaps difficult to comprehend by young males who view marriage as a wet dream cum true, but for us older folk who know that sex usually occupies only one hour out of every 24, the importance of a good relationship for the other 23 hours has had time to sink in. The basic reason for the negative impact of a second wife on an established relationship is that the attention a man devotes to one woman is attention not devoted to another; so that even if a man devotes equal attention to all, each woman still gets less attention from the man than she would in a monogamous marriage. The polygamous relationship, then, is one of significant inequality in which the woman is forced to give more than she gets; and this not merely interferes with the quality of the relationship, but makes it more unstable. The problem of instability may be overcome if the man is highly dominant, or if the society is patriarchal, as it is in Islam; but if it is merely force -- whether of society or of a dominant male -- that holds a polygamous relationship together, such a relationship cannot attain the quality of the best monogamous relationships in which each partner is fully devoted to the other, and their intimacy is deeper and more profound because it is exclusive of all others.
Much unpleasant noise over 'women's liberation' has been made by cultural conservatives, who have seen the movement of women out of the home and into the workplace as subversive of cultural values and the biologically-destined role of women, and a subtle but profound effort to keep Western man from reproducing himself. While I am sympathetic to some extent with this view, I am also in significant disagreement with it. For one thing, I believe that women should be everything they can be, and I know that some -- and perhaps many -- women wish to make their mark in the world outside the home. In particular, I have difficulty in endorsing social customs that place a barrier in the way of talented or motivated women, and indeed, I do not wish to live with a woman who may be a good lover, a good mother and a good housekeeper, but who cannot understand or share my work, and whose lack of development means that she is not my better half, but merely a kind of dangling appendage. As to the attitude of cultural conservatives, we may surmise that it arises as a sort of cultural hangover from the time that women were chattel, or at least from the fact that, until recent times, the inability of women to have control of child-bearing made it difficult for most of them to look for a life much beyond the home. In addition, cultural conservatives may be reacting negatively to the fact that many women are now educated and empowered, and thereby pose a threat to men whose incompletely-developed masculinity makes it difficult for them to have a relationship with anyone who rises above the level of a doormat. In any event, it has only been a very short time in historical terms since women have achieved an equality of legal status; and while I have strong doubts about the wisdom of giving women the vote, I think that the National Socialist idea that women should be limited to 'kinder, kusche, kirsch' (children, kitchen, church) is pretty much Neanderthalian. I do believe that Western society should make a concerted effort to encourage childbearing, particularly in this time of dangerously-falling birthrates; but at the same time I am no enthusiast for the purdah and the burqua, or returning to arranged marriages, smelling salts and ducking stools. We may hail our Newtons, our Beethovens and our Jeffersons, but let us not forget our Mme de Staels, our Babe Didriksons, or our Catherine the Greats.

San Bernardino County Sheriff Deputy Ivory J. Webb was arrested and charged with the cowardly and brutal shooting of Senior Airman Elio Carrion who is assigned to the 2nd Security Forces Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. Airman Carrion, on leave from Iraq,
was shot three times on January 29 with no provocation in
Chino, California by Deputy Webb in an incident that was
caught on tape by Jose Luis Valdes. Mr. Valdes was later
arrested by the sheriffs on trumped-up charges in a ploy to
intimidate him. The criminal charges against Deputy Ivory J.
Webb in the shooting of Senior Airman Elio Carrion is the
first time that San Bernardino County prosecutors have
charged a cop in an on-duty shooting, District Attorney
Michael A. Ramos said in a news conference. Deputy Webb
was released on $100,000 bail and the criminal trial is now
pending.
