and al-Queda, derailed the careful plans that were
drafted by Presidents Bush and Fox at Rancho San
Cristobal, Guanajuato on February 16, 2001.
Today, 911 is being utilized by both Zionists and
anti-Mexican bigots in the USA to advance certain
agendas beneficial only to them. During the time that
Paul Wolfowitz was advancing the lie of Saddam's
"Weapons of Mass Destruction" , other Zionists were
utilizing the 911 terrorist attacks to justify a
concerted effort to pressure Mexico to join the so
called "coalition of the willing" against Islam and
more specifically against Iraq. The Zionists went as
far as to threaten Mexico with "interning Mexicans in
Aztlan as was done to the Japanese during World War
II" if Mexico did not vote favorably for Zionist
interests in the UN Security Council. These same
Zionists, in high levels of the USA government, are
today using the "security card" to stop Mexican
trucks from importing products that compete with
Israeli imports to the USA.

border. Vile border vigilantes like the convicted

the Zionist controlled media in frightening the
American people into supporting "The Mexico/Aztlan
Apartheid Wall" and sending US Marines to the border.
Glenn Spencer, a card carrying member of the
terrorist Jewish Defense League, has been in the
forefront of disseminating propaganda that maintains
that al-Queda is planning to bring into the USA
nuclear bombs and other weapons of mass destruction
through the US/Mexico border. Time Magazine has now
published, verbatim, the same lies espoused by
Spencer.
Today, the Mexican government denied that the
Mexico/USA border is vulnerable to being utilized by
al-Queda to bring weapons of mass destruction into
the USA. Santiago Creel, Mexico's Secretary of
Foreign Relations, stated that Mexico has received 14
terrorist alerts from the USA and other countries
since September of 2001 but that none of these turned
out to be of any consequence. Secretary Creel said
that the thorough investigations by Mexico of the 14
alerts indicate that there is no evidence of an
organized effort by al-Queda to transport WMD's
across the border.
The real danger to the safety of the USA is that
posed by local terrorist groups like the Jewish
Defense League and racist militias like the one led
by the foul and vile bigot Glenn Spencer. We are
today in danger that these characters will commit a
serious terrorist act in order to blame it on the
Mexicans and justify closing the border. This is
routinely done by Zionists in Israel against the

Recently I read a book called 'Russian Messianism:
Third Rome, Revolution, Communism and After' by a
British scholar, Peter Duncan, that features an
informative section on Dostoevsky's views on the Jews.
The section focuses primarily on Dostoevsky's 'Diary
of a Writer,' which contains a chapter from March 1877
called 'The Jewish Question.' I will spare you
Duncan's "analysis" of the reasons for Dostoevsky's
attitude towards the Jews, largely drawn, as it is,
from the work of Jewish academics, and I will instead
primarily quote Dostoevsky himself. The following
quotes from Dostoevsky's 'Diary of a Writer' are from
pages 38-40 of 'Russian Messianism.'
"And surely the truth is that the Yid (Zhid) has again
begun to rule everywhere, and has not only 'begun to
rule,' but never even stopped ruling."
The dislike of the Russian for the Jew "arises not at
all from the fact that he is a Jew, not from any sort
of racial or religious hatred, but it arises from
other reasons, where the guilt lies not with the
native people but with the Jew himself."
Those in the Russian borderlands would say that the
Jews "have been moved for so many centuries only by
pitilessness towards us and only by the thirst for our
sweat and blood."
Duncan writes that Dostoevsky believed that "[t]he
Jews were more prejudiced against Russians than the
Russians were against Jews. The Jews looked forward
to world domination; this required them to maintain
their own close-knit identity. If they were given
equal legal rights, but allowed to keep their 'State
within a State,' they would be more privileged than
the Russians. The consequences of this situation were
already clear in Europe." Dostoevsky states:
"Thus it is not for nothing that everywhere there [in
Europe] the Jews are reigning (tsariat) over the stock
exchanges, not for nothing that they control capital,
not for nothing that they are masters of credit, and
not for nothing, I repeat, that they are the masters
of all international politics, and what will be in the
future is known also to the Jews themselves: their
reign is approaching, their complete reign!"
Dostoevsky nonetheless claimed that he would support
"full and final equalization of rights" for Jews but
with the qualification, "insofar as the Jewish people
themselves will show their ability to accept and
exercise these rights without detriment to the native
population."
In what is perhaps his strongest statement on the
Jews, Dostoevsky perceived that the Jews were behind
the socialist movement in both Europe and Russia:

"I would define crunk as more of a spirit," explains rapper David Banner. "Have you been to a Baptist church in the South? It's similar to that. ... It's that feeling in the club that gets you through life."
But the Southern-based church of crunk also relies on R-rated chants and drink-and-toke party themes popularized by its leader: Lil Jon, a dreadlocked, metal-toothed producer whose trademark shouts of "YEAH!!!", "OOOO-KAAAAY!!!" and "WHAAAAATTTTT???!!!!" are saturating pop radio.
"The energy from these records, that's what makes crunk so popular; that's why it's winning, because it makes you move a certain way," says Lil Jon, sounding far more mellow than his bellowing stage shtick during an interview in the Manhattan offices of his record label. "Like when you hear Aretha Franklin sing -- it touches your soul. Crunk music, it makes you just wanna lose your mind -- just be free and wild out."
And there's plenty more wilding ahead.
On Tuesday, Lil Jon and his cohorts, the East Side Boyz, released "Crunk Juice." It's the follow-up to their 2002 double-platinum "Kings of Crunk" album, which included the infectious hit "Get Low," which crossed over from nightclubs to frathouses.
The new album, which includes guest appearances from Usher, R. Kelly, Nas, Ice Cube and others, includes the typical hollering, body-slamming anthems crunkheads crave. But Lil Jon wants to give them a little more substance -- like what he bills as the first crunk song with a story, a collaboration with esteemed producer Rick Rubin (jew). The track tells the tale of a simple man struggling to fight against the problems the world puts upon him.
The title? It would get bleeped on MTV, but let's just say it asks to simply be left alone.
"With this album, we've grown as crunk artists," boasts Lil Jon, who did most of the talking during a group interview to promote the album (his counterparts, Lil Bo and Big Sam, may have been slow to respond due to the variety of self-medicating elixirs lying on the table).
"The music is, like, evolving," he adds.
Though crunk music has been around for more than a decade, Lil Jon -- a former record executive by the name of Jonathan Smith -- may be most responsible for its skyrocketing popularity. Either as an artist, collaborator or producer, Lil Jon is behind many of the genre's biggest crossover successes: "Get Low"; Petey Pablo's deliciously dirty-minded "Freek-A-Leek"; the Ying Yang Twins shamefully catchy "Salt Shaker"; Ciara's enticing "Goodies"; and, of course, the year's biggest smash, Usher's superstar-making "Yeah!"
"The thing I give Jon credit for is putting it all together and giving it a name and giving it a face," says Banner, a longtime friend. "The spirit has always been here. He defined it."
And he's personified it with his court jester image and antics. His wide, metallic grin stays at full wattage as he shakes his long, dreadlocked mane and sneers his trademarked chants, which have become the catch phrases of the moment. Add the gold-and-diamond studded pimp cup he uses to imbibe onstage (and off, for that matter), and you've got yourself a character -- and a caricature.
Dave Chappelle famously parodied him on his comedy show, and during last year's MTV Awards, host Chris Rock joked that he resembled a "black Cousin It."
But unlike Michael Jackson, Lil Jon doesn't get his feelings hurt -- Chris Rock makes hilarious cameos on "Crunk Juice," and Lil Jon is grateful for the exposure Chappelle's show has given him.
"Dave helped us to touch people that we would never touch with the music. You got 50-year-old white people coming up saying 'YEAH!' 'WHAT!' 'O.K.!'," says Lil Jon.
The idea that frat boys would be swaying to "Get Low," or that R&B crooners like Usher (and even novelty wannabe singer Paris Hilton) would count on Lil Jon for the jam of the moment, demonstrates his sudden rise in the music world.
Though Lil Jon got his big start as an executive at Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Records in 1993, he soon realized that the career he wanted to guide was his own, not others. Joining with Lil Bo and Big Sam -- two DJs who were old school buddies -- they became the East Side Boyz, performing at tiny dives, selling their own records and supplying their crunk energy to the clubs and anyone else who wanted to get it off the streets. Eventually he left So So Def, and while he brags that the trio was selling hundreds of thousands of records, they were still an Atlanta phenomenon with roots reaching only the southern states.
After inking a deal with the New York-based TVT Records, and releasing the album "Put Yo Hood Up" in 2001, their profile started to grow. Still, it was a slow climb. The trio recalls when they couldn't even get on stage on BET's "106 & Park" -- they were relegated to the audience.
"They hadn't gone out and partied with us," explains Lil Bo.
"(But) they saw how the records made people lose their minds -- they had not seen that before. That's what made everybody come around," says Lil Jon.
The more success the group had, the more other artists started asking Lil Jon for some of that crunk juice -- and his production career soared.
Banner says his skills have long been underrated.
"I don't think people know how intelligent Lil Jon is. Lil Jon is actually a genius. People think Lil Jon goes to the studio and start hollering. There is a method to his madness," Banner says.
While he may be a skilled producer, part of the madness includes getting crunk -- which usually means getting at least a little drunk. Sitting in the label offices, Lil Jon and his Boyz offer up a fragrant marijuana blunt and a Crunk Juice tonic -- their new energy drink mixed with top-shelf vodka. Not exactly standard interview behavior, even in the drinking and drugging music industry.
While Lil Jon constantly refers to the unit, it's clear that he's the Beyonce of group. Even when questions are posed to Lil Bo and Big Sam, Lil Jon somehow finds a way to answer them. And when a reporter asks to hear the new album in advance, he says, "Nobody's got a copy -- they don't even have a copy," he says, gesturing to the Boyz. "I'm like the only one that got a copy of the album. We don't even want it to accidentally come out."
Although the new album can piggyback on Lil Jon's success, he worries that "Crunk Juice" could also fall victim to it.
"We gotta not just outdo ourselves, we gotta outdo all the records that I produced!" he says. "It's too hard, it's too hard making this album."
Ah, the price of fame and celebrity. But you won't hear Lil Jon complaining much. After all, he still has plenty more to accomplish in the world of crunk.
"I look at Timbaland, I look at the Neptunes -- look how many records they sold, how many hits they got," he says of the production powerhouses. "The little accomplishments I got ain't (nothing), I got a long way to go. So, we're still grinding -- shaking hands, kissing babies.
"It's gonna always be like that, because that's where we came from."

It's my opinion, and I've not met too many others who actually share this view, that the Beasties greatest contribution to Hip Hop beyond the fact that Def Jam used them to open up a white audience was that they brought a snotty bratty punk attitude to hip hop.
I feel that without the Beasties there could have been no Public Enemy, NWA and perhaps the whole West Coast gangster thing would not have shot forward like it did. I can't be too far off here because the Beasties moved west themselves and you know easy it could have been easy for bands like NWA or Public Enemy to dis them for being white, rich, Jewish and successful, but they never did.

Eleven Christians will go to court in Philadelphia in December to learn whether they will have to go to trial, charged with committing a "hate crime" when they peacefully protested a city-sanctioned homosexual event in October.
A preliminary hearing has been set for December 14 at the Philadelphia Criminal Justice Center. The charges include three felonies and five misdemeanors and could result in a total of 47 years' prison time. (For a news report, see

"The doors are open in America for the persecution of Christians under these new 'hate crime' laws," said Michael Marcavage, director of Repent America, the Christian group that staged the protest. "Control of our government, in some places, is now in the hands of those who hate God."
The Christians were arrested October 10 for singing hymns and carrying banners near the entrance to a homosexual activist street fair called "Outfest." They were charged with three felonies: "ethnic intimidation" (the alleged hate crime), "criminal conspiracy," and "riot."
They didn't expect to be arrested, Marcavage said, "and we certainly have no idea whether they'll really send us to prison. We'll know more on December 14."
What's the Philadelphia Story?
Repent America made news in August when they were ejected from a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game at Citizens Bank Park, where they protested the ballpark's "second annual Gay Day." Their banners were torn down, and as the protesters were escorted from the park, two men jumped onto the field and kissed -- while the crowd cheered.
"There are thousands of churches in Philadelphia," Marcavage said, "but I'm afraid most of them have failed to be a light in the darkness.
"Meanwhile, Christianity is being criminalized by the homosexual agenda. First they demand we tolerate them; then accept them; and now they insist that we praise their way of life."
This spring, the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation launched a multimillion-dollar cable TV ad campaign to attract more homosexual tourists to the city.
"I can't tell you why all this is happening," Marcavage said. "All I can tell you is that our churches, for the most part, have been silent."
Repent America
Marcavage, who holds a degree in broadcast journalism and mass communication, founded Repent America three years ago, after making his personal decision for Christ. (See the organization's website, www.repentamerica.com.) His work as director of the group has grown into a full-time job.
Repent America -- "calling a nation in rebellion against God to repent" -- has an office in Philadelphia, a website, a dozen local volunteers, and some 5,000 members nationwide ("and growing by the day," Marcavage said). It is funded entirely by voluntary contributions.
Members belong to Presbyterian, Baptist, and home churches. It has not yet attempted to state a particular theology, beyond trying to be faithful to Scripture. "If it's supported by Scripture, we're for it," Marcavage said.
"We need to use our sword, which is the Word of God," he said, echoing St. Paul in Ephesians 6:17. "Too many Christians in America are woefully ignorant of God's commands."
What good does it do to confront homosexual militants in public?
"Our message is that there is hope for the homosexual, as there is for everybody," Marcavage said. "But beyond that, we are achieving a lot of good just by witnessing for God's law. The law of God needs to be given to those in rebellion. Not just homosexuals; although, this seems to be the issue that's giving Christians in America the most in-your-face opposition."
Earlier this year, Marcavage attended a national atheists' convention in Washington, D.C.
"One of their speakers said something that I'll always remember," he said. "This atheist warned the others, 'The church is a sleeping giant.'
"Well, we're trying to wake up the giant before it's too late."

Two Marines from Indiana killed in Iraq, families say

Two Marines from Indiana were killed during combat this week in Iraq, their
families said.
Lance Cpl. Lance Thompson, 21, of Marion, died Monday during fighting at
Ramadi, said his father, Gregory Thompson. He said he was notified of his
son's death by two Marines who visited his home Monday night.
"They told us he was killed in an explosion, and we were told a report would
be filed later," he said. Lance Cpl. James Swain, 20, of Kokomo, was killed Monday during the fighting in Fallujah, his grandfather said Wednesday.
Ed Swain said his son and daughter-in-law were notified of the younger
Swain's death Monday by the Marine Corps. Swain was a 2002 graduate of
Kokomo High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2002 and was
based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
The military said that at least 37 Marines and soldiers had been killed
during the recent Fallujah offensive.
The deaths of Thompson and Swain increase to 33 the number of people from
Indiana to have died after being sent to the Mideast since the buildup for
the invasion of Iraq began in early 2003.
Thompson had been in Iraq since September on his second, seven-month tour of
duty, his father said.
"Last year, during the run up to Baghdad, he was stationed at Hillah at the
mass grave. He told me about seeing a young mother clutching a small child.
He thought they had been buried alive. He saw that and thought he was doing
the right thing," Gregory Thompson said.
Thompson was a 2001 graduate of Eastbrook High School near Marion, about 60
miles northeast of Indianapolis.
Guidance counselor Dee Billinger said Thompson had talked about joining the
Marines when he was in high school.
"It's heartbreaking for our community," said Billinger. "It's consumed a lot
of our thoughts today (Tuesday). He was such a great kid. A very pleasant
young man."

Angel Garcia Seoane, mayor of Oleiros in northern Spain, removed venomous signs
against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Israel from municipal billboards
Wednesday, following intense public pressure, including a direct request from
Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos.
Jackie Eldan, the spokesman at the Israeli embassy in Madrid, said Seoane
replaced the signs that read "Let's stop the animal!!! Sharon the assassin,
stop the neo Nazis," with others that read "Oleiros is for peace and supports
the Palestinian people." Oleiros is a town of some 27,000 people in the Galicia
region.
Eldan said that following a conversation Tuesday with Foreign Minister Silvan
Shalom, Moratinos issued a strong statement calling for the removal of the
signs.
"I define as unacceptable this type of initiative taken by the mayor of
Oleiros, which is gravely insulting to the democratic prime minister of a
nation friendly with Spain. I turned immediately to the head of Galicia, and to
the president of the federation of municipalities, calling for immediate steps
to stop this campaign," the statement read.
Eldan said that Moratinos also called the mayor.
In addition, heads of the opposition party in the city held a press conference

NEWPORT BEACH -- Hot Pockets millionaire Paul Merage has launched a second nonprofit foundation, dedicated to improving trade between Israel and the United States.
"I firmly believe that Israeli business demonstrates tremendous entrepreneurial spirit and skills," Merage said in a written statement.
"Israel has the intellectual capital and the business leadership to significantly expand exports to the United States. It can, and indeed must, do so to sustain a vigorous, growing economy and to provide a better life for its citizens."
The Merage Foundation for U.S.-Israel Trade will bring Israeli executives and MBA students to Orange County to study how American business and marketing works.
It will hold two two-week sessions for executives each year and one 21-day program for MBA students.
Professors from UC Irvine and elsewhere will teach the sessions.
Merage came to America from Iran when he was 16, entered the frozen-food business and figured out a way to keep dough crisp in a microwave. His Hot Pockets went on to phenomenal success, and Merage sold his company, Chef America, to Nestlé in 2002 for $2.6 billion.
Merage, of Newport Beach, is ranked as one of the 10 richest people in Orange County, with a net worth estimated at some $600 million.
He launched his first nonprofit earlier this year. The Merage Foundation for the American Dream aims to debunk what it calls the misconceptions and mythology surrounding immigration. It awarded $300,000 to 15 promising immigrant university students in June; has produced free DVDs and educational materials for high schools telling the stories of prominent immigrants; and commissions scholarly papers on immigration issues.
Merage plans to launch two more foundations here as well: one putting retired baby boomers to work where they're needed, and one targeting improvements in higher education.

Vandals spray swastikas on Jewish gravestones in England

gravestones at a Jewish cemetery in southern England, police said Wednesday.
They said the anti-Semitic graffiti had appeared on the gravestones in
Aldershot, Hampshire, over the past month. "This is about the lowest thing
anybody can do," Police Constable Andy Gardiner of Hampshire police said. "Any
sort of vandalism would be bad enough but to put symbols like these on Jewish
graves is a despicable act."
As well as swastikas, the vandals had sprayed SS on some of the graves - a
reference to the Schutzstaffel, a paramilitary unit of the Nazi party. Attacks
on Jewish graves have been relatively rare in Britain, home to around 265,000

So in conclusion, it is United States policy, not very much different from brutal United States policy elsewhere in Latin America, Asia, Native Americans, etc., the support of "free markets by force" that is at fault. The United States should extend temporary protection to 20,000 Haitians
illegally in this country. Forcibly returning them to their war-torn,
storm-battered home country would be akin to signing death warrants for
many. It also would worsen conditions on the Caribbean island, where the
world community is struggling to cope with a massive humanitarian crisis.
Haiti was already the poorest nation in the Americas before being wracked by
storms and political violence throughout much of the year. Nearly 5,000
people have been killed in the fighting over the ouster of former President
Jean-Bertrand Aristide and in the aftermath of storms and flooding that left
another quarter-million Haitians homeless.
Police and security forces have fled many areas, leaving armed gangs to take
over. The chaos has compounded Haiti's difficulty in attracting and
distributing aid from the world community. Throwing thousands more desperate
Haitians into this environment of disease and disorder would be a heartless
action on the part of a neighboring superpower with a moral and political
imperative to help, not hurt.
As the Times' David Adams reported this week, immigration advocates in Miami
want the Bush administration to grant "temporary protected status" to an
estimated 20,000 Haitian aliens in the United States. The move would protect
them from being forcibly removed until conditions on the island improve
enough for Haiti to take its nationals back. Haiti's government asked the
White House for TPS in a bid to buy time to stabilize the security situation
and address the severe housing shortage. The request has bipartisan support
from South Florida members of Congress and partial backing from Gov. Jeb
Bush. The governor is right to be concerned that any relief effort not
overwhelm private aid and government agencies or inspire an exodus from the
island to Florida.
Giving a targeted reprieve to a small, dispersed crowd - most are in Miami
and New York, with smaller concentrations in Tampa Bay and elsewhere - will
not tax local authorities. Patrolling the waters off Haiti can curb any
potential refugee crisis. Returning thousands of people to crowded, unsafe
conditions might be more likely to spark a new Haitian boatlift. It also
would aggravate existing shortages of clean water, sanitation, housing and
other amenities throughout the country.
The Department of Homeland Security says the Haitian request is "still being
reviewed." That language, Adams reports, may suggest new flexibility from
the agency. Granting temporary status would show Washington's good faith to
a country suspicious of U.S. motives. It also could attract more nations to
join Haiti's reconstruction effort. Only massive help over many years can
begin to reverse the ecological destruction and build Haiti's civil
institutions to the point the country can handle its own crises. Only then
will Florida and all of the United States be free of the threat that a
Haitian crisis will become an American crisis, too.

afflicted with FD cannot swallow properly, so they must be fed through
feeding tubes and have water pumped directly into their stomach. They have
an unsteady gait and, because their eyes do not tear or cry, must use eye
drops many times a day. Their skin becomes blotchy and red when they are
excited. Children with FD can hold their breath for a long time and may not
realize when they need oxygen, risking drowning if they so much as put their
head under water. They do not feel pain. They might bleed for hours on end
and not know it. Because of their weak immune systems, FD patients are often
bed-ridden with double pneumonia. FD-children also may go into a "crisis"
state -- a traumatic period of violent retching, high fever and other
symptoms -- at any time and without warning.
The gene for FD is found in fully 4% of the Ashkenazi Jewish population -- a
figure as high as that of the more familiar and more widely feared Tay-Sachs

Thanks for your enlightening article. It's heartening to learn that those
darn liberal Dutch are finally beginning to admit that multiculturalism is
not such a wonderful thing. As you mention, many Netherlanders have known or
noticed this for some time now. After all, stuffing one's small, White
European homeland full of Mohammedans, who's Holy Koran forbids living
under a non-Islamic government, does not seem like a very wise way to keep
one's homeland either White or liberal (or Dutch, for that matter) --
especially when one's ungrateful "guests" are prone to deadly violence
against those with whom they disagree. Especially when one's alien visitors
seek to outbreed one, instilling all sorts of unpleasant, illiberal, and
downright hateful ideas into their numerous alien offspring! Especially when
one's "guests" despise the "host culture" as "ungodly," and seek to mete
out the retribution demanded by said God.
Unfortunately, you fail to inform your readers about several items of
critical information, crucial to gaining a real understanding of the
situation in Holland and in other European nations.
Do you understand that the Dutch (and most of their European neighbors) are
simply not allowed to voice their conscience about multiculturalism, or
about racial or "religious" differences? No. In the Netherlands (as in most
European nations), expressing one's thoughts about such subjects is against
the law and can actually earn you several years in prison. It happens all
the time! Perhaps you are aware of that, but cannot or will not tell your
readers about it (if I'm wrong, forgive me). Apparently, only after a number
of horrendous incidents are the Dutch at last beginning to express their
dissatisfaction and anger about a situation that has been forced upon them,
which has been spiraling wildly out of control for years.
Now, it would also help if you told your readers WHO's to blame for the
current state of affairs (including forced multiculturalism and prison
sentences for free speech). This, however, you certainly cannot reveal, at
least not in the "pages" of Joseph Farah's "World Net Daily."
Happily, Prof. Kevin MacDonald has done a thorough and wonderful job of
exposing the Jewish influence in wrecking White European Nations (including
Canada, Australia, and the USA). If you aren't familiar with this brilliant
Evolutionary Psychologist, he teaches at CSU's Long Beach Campus. Here's his

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli officials said on Tuesday they expected no
major change in Washington's strong support for Israel after a main
architect of the policy, Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites), takes over as
secretary of state.
Palestinians said they hoped Rice, President Bush (news - web sites)'s
national security adviser, would pursue more vigorously a violence-stalled
peace "road map," charting negotiations with Israel leading to the creation
of a Palestinian state.
Bush, seen as the most pro-Israel U.S. president ever and a supporter of
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites)'s unilateral Gaza pullout
plan, was expected to nominate Rice on Tuesday to replace Colin Powell (news
- web sites), who announced his resignation on Monday.
"For us it does not make much of a change," a senior Israeli official said
about Rice's appointment.
"We have a friend in the White House, and this is important. The strategic
ties between Israel and the United States have never been stronger."
It is conventional wisdom in Israel that Powell was, in the words of
commentator Nathan Guttman in the Haaretz daily, "a figurehead, not a
player" and that Middle East moves were directed by Bush and Rice, seen as
friendlier toward the Jewish state.
As national security adviser in Bush's administration, Rice has spearheaded
U.S. dealings with Sharon since he became prime minister in 2001, holding
frequent meetings with his chief adviser, Dov Weisglass.
Rice has been a vocal advocate of a policy that adopted Sharon's refusal to

With the Middle East landscape changed by the death of Arafat, Nabil Abu

President Rawhi Fattouh, urged Rice to speed up implementation of the road
map.
"We hope the American administration will resume its direct contacts with

Rdainah said.
A U.S. official said Powell will visit Ramallah, the West Bank seat of the
Palestinian Authority, and meet Israeli leaders in Jerusalem this month.
It will be his first such trip since 2003 and follows U.S. pledges to help

Looking ahead to Rice's stewardship in the State Department, Palestinian
cabinet minister Saeb Erekat called her "a very dignified person, with an

"I think we will be working closely with her in the hope of implementing
President Bush's vision of a two-state solution in his second term," Erekat

Bush said last week that Arafat's death presented a new opportunity for
peace and vowed to use the next four years to help establish a Palestinian
state alongside Israel.
"(Powell) was a friend of Israel and so is his successor. I see a continuity
rather than a change," a senior Israeli official said.
Rice brought a glint to Sharon's eye from the start.
"I must confess, it was hard for me to concentrate in the conversation with
Condoleezza Rice because she has very nice legs," Sharon was widely quoted
as saying several years ago about his first meeting, in 2000, with
then-presidential candidate Bush's foreign policy adviser.

which he hurt two people. He served two years in

Haitian national. An appeals court upheld the
deportation, however, the Supreme Court overturned
that ruling.
But there is more to it. The ruling of the Supreme
Court also overturns the Justice Department's
"Aggravated Felony under the Law."
"It does not make sense that immigrants should be
deported for that offense."
Yes, it does! Drunk driving is a premeditated attempt
to hurt innocent people. It is a fact that illegal and
legal immigrants commit most drunk driving incidents
from third world countries. Cars have become a
dangerous tool for the wave of immigrants. They are
used for drive-by shootings, transportation of illegal
drugs and stolen goods, driving without a license, and
drunk driving. The Supreme Court ruling is giving
these immigrants a license to kill.
For many of these primitives, a car is an extension of
their manhood, a status symbol, and the means to show
off masculinity.
Add on that in most cases of drunk driving injuries
these immigrants have no insurance. Now, the threat of
deportation is gone. Be afraid - be very afraid - out

Monday demanded that Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo stop
his "calls for an anti-white witch-hunt."
She said his first responsibility was to "re-establish calm." Alliot-
Marie told Europe I radio that "racist and xenophobic" propaganda
was being put out by the official radio and television and by
politicians close to Gbagbo, and said the president had an
obligation to "stop such manipulation."
She also said he must rein in young supporters who, she said, were
responsible for a spree of violence, looting, aggression and, in
some cases, rape.
Thousands of whites have been evacuated from the former French
colony, which was once a star among the Francophone countries.
President Jacques Chirac earlier said Gbagbo's regime had created
a "disastrous" situation by persecuting whites and other foreigners,
including citizens from neighbouring countries and mixed-race
Ivorians.
Ivory Coast has been divided into two warring camps since September
2002, when northern soldiers mounted a rebellion against Gbagbo's
rule. The present crisis erupted earlier this month when Gbagbo
forces launched an assault against rebel positions, and then bombed
a French army base on November 6, killing nine French soldiers and
an American civilian, and injuring 28, according to Alliot-Marie.
The raid prompted France to retaliate by destroying Ivorian air
force jets and helicopters, seizing Abidjan international airport
and sending in more troops to protect the local population, in
addition to a 4,000-man force mandated by the United Nations to
separate the warring government and rebel sides.
In turn, violent anti-French protests welled up Abidjan in which,
according to Ivorian authorities, 62 people were killed and more
than 1,200 injured.
France has denied accusations its troops fired on the crowd and said
deaths were caused in clashes between Ivorian troops and Gbagbo
supporters.
France was supporting a UN resolution, to be discussed later Monday,
that would impose an arms embargo and other sanctions against the
Ivory Coast within a month unless the violence is brought to a halt.
In comments published in several French dailies Monday, Alliot-Marie
said "the risk of a humanitarian crisis on a large scale is real.
"The instability could spill over into neighbouring countries. It is
time to find the path of reason," she added.
Chirac has pledged that France would continue its UN-mandated action
in the Ivory Coast and would not stand by while a situation of
anarchy or fascism developed there.
The two sides in the Ivorian conflict have been in a tense standoff
since early last year, when France and West African officials
brokered a ceasefire deal and launched a political process aimed at
curbing Gbagbo's power and bringing former rebel fighters into a
unity government.

A tri-national task force, chaired by former Liberal Party deputy prime minister John Manley, with the full backing of all three governments, is plotting the roadmap for this new, bolder alliance meant to compete with the European Union. William Weld, former governor of Massachusetts and Pedro Aspe, former Mexican finance minister, join Manley on the panel that reports directly to the Council on Foreign Relations. The mission has the formal blessing of Tom Ridge, U.S. Homeland Security secretary, who is close with President Bush. The committee is scheduled to issue its report next spring. The elimination of borders along the lines of the EU experiment seems to be high on the agenda of the panel.
"I think we've had 11 years of incrementalism, and during that time we've seen the EU expand its borders, eliminate borders among (member) countries and launch a common currency," explains Manley in the diplomatic magazine Embassy. "We're going to have to provide a vision that is more bold than incrementalism. What's the choice? Europe has made enormous steps in the years since NAFTA was signed. China has been going through a transformative process. In Canada, our only leverage is access to the U.S. market. If we're not going to develop and pursue how we use our advantage of location to be the foundation for future prosperity, then we are going to have to figure out another vision."
The "NAFTA-plus" plan has also been referred to as "deep integration." Skeptics see it as a plan to eliminate national sovereignty and erode the American concept of representative government accountable to the people under the framework of the Constitution. Discussions so far indicate that Canada, under the new agreement, would immediately sign on to the U.S. strategic missile defense initiative. Canada would also make its vast lumber resources available to the U.S. and Mexican markets and provide more open access to the northern neighbor's oil, natural gas and hydro-electric power resources. Other members of the task force include: Canadian Finance Minister Michael Wilson and Nelson Cunningham of Henry Kissinger's consulting firm, Kissinger McLarty Associates.

"I was five months pregnant when I visited the Kopat Holim center for a
medical examination. I was told that the fetus inside me was deformed. I
sought a second and third opinion at Hadassah Ein Karem and Hadassah
Jerusalem, and each time there was a different diagnosis. I was told the
fetus' brain was not fully developed one time, and then I was told the
baby was a Mongol and that I would have to abort immediately.
"My husband and I decided to keep the baby. I had registered to give
birth at Hadassah Jerusalem. I had the baby, a girl whom we named Israa,
and to my surprise, there was nothing wrong with her. The doctors
examined her and found no problems whatsoever."
The mother of Israa Al-Bayaa, now five months old, continued, "I refused
to accept the diagnosis. I was afraid when I heard my baby would be a
Mongol and began to worry about how my life would be and how I would
raise her." She directed a piece of advice to expecting mothers, telling
them not to visit Israeli hospitals, before expressing elation that she
was blessed with a healthy child.
This and similar cases have created a sense of trepidation and concern
for many Jerusalem families that undergo the so-called "fetal organs
examination" in Israeli hospitals, which has resulted in the loss of
several fetuses. The concern grew stronger after many families refused
to abort the child for religious reasons only to find that the baby
suffered none of the deformities the Israeli doctors had predicted. In
many cases, the Israeli doctors denied families medical reports
detailing the diagnosis after the baby was born.
What is the reality of the situation? Is the concern associated with the
issue unwarranted or is it justified? Have political motives come into
play? With the following interviews, we will try to reveal the truth.
The mother of the child Fakhriyya Ali said, "I underwent several
examinations to check the fetus at the Kopat Holim center in Jaffa
Street. The doctors said the fetus had a punctured heart and should be
aborted, adding later that it was too small to survive. I was terrified
but refused to abort the baby. I carried it to term while still afraid
and worried. I asked for medical records but was refused them and felt
terribly depressed. After my girl was born I was delighted to hear that
there was nothing wrong with her." The mother said she would never again
go to an Israeli hospital or clinic, adding, "I lost trust in everything
they say and do."
Jamila Bakr, aged four, was saved by her father, who refused to allow
her mother to abort her. After Jamila was born, her father distributed
the meat of an entire cow he had bought to family and neighbors in
celebration of a safe birth and healthy baby.
Said Jamila's mother, "I underwent a medical exam in my fifth month
followed by another to test the fetus. They told me the child would be a
Mongol and should be aborted. My husband refused. I then went to
Al-Dajani Hospital, where the fetus was pronounced healthy and free of
defects. Jamila is a normal child." Jamila's mother said she was
terrified throughout the pregnancy and thanked God that she did not heed
the advice of the Israeli doctors.
Intisar Al-Risheq, 35, inhaled teargas during clashes between Israeli
settlers and Palestinians in the Old City of Jerusalem. She went to
Hadassah Jerusalem for a checkup and was told her fetus had a punctured
head and should be aborted. "They gave me an injection that made
breathing very difficult.
I yelled but no one heeded my pleas. When I recovered, I asked to see
the baby. They refused, but I insisted. They brought the baby, and I saw
there was no hole in his head. I asked for a medical report but was
denied one. Following pregnancies resulted in miscarriages.
I really believe that they gave me something to prevent me from having
more children. I went to Al-Maqased for my previous nine deliveries, and
going to Hadassah this time was the decision of my husband, who now, of
course, regrets having made it."
Risheq complained of the maltreatment she and other Palestinian
expectant mothers received at the Israeli hospital. They were all told
their fetuses were deformed. Continued Risheq, "There was a sense of
deep sadness in the ward. Several women began to cry. We all suffered
psychologically. While I was at Hadassah a nurse came to me and said,
'You are Arab dogs! Why do you come here?'"
Fear and confusion: Said Amal Hasheem, "I was pregnant and went for a
checkup. The doctors said the fetus would not survive and that an
abortion was needed. I had the abortion. I asked about the fetus and was
told it was undergoing various experiments. I went to my Arab doctor and
told him what happened. He said my fetus was normal and advised me to
take my case to court, but I did not. I have already lost my baby, what
would the court do for me?"
Hasheem added that cases like hers are common, with pregnant women being
told their fetuses are Mongol or lack a kidney or a limb, which in most
cases has proven untrue. She said she underwent examinations for her
latest pregnancy at Arab hospitals.
Recently, more specifically in the past three months, Palestinian
doctors have noticed an increase in the number of women wishing to
undergo tests and deliver at Palestinian hospitals and clinics. Said Dr
Mahmoud Olayyan from Al-Hilal Hospital, "We have had 300 deliveries in
the past three months, with some days witnessing 20 deliveries.
This has never happened before. People are sometimes ignorant of the
right thing to do; they do not understand that a normal delivery can be
handled by any legally qualified nurse. We receive many women wanting a
second opinion after being told by Israeli hospitals that their babies
are deformed."
Reports in Hebrew Dr Nabeel Thawabteh, a gynecologist and fetal disease
and deformity expert at Al-Maqased Hospital, said that Israeli hospitals
and health centers conduct a compulsory examination during a mother's
five month of pregnancy. "The same test is optional in Palestinian
hospitals, which leads people to believe Israeli hospitals are superior,
although we posses the same resources and skills. We receive women that
seek a second examination after being informed that their fetuses are
deformed. Often the mufti cannot make a decision because the medical
report is written in Hebrew. Israeli doctors suggest an abortion when
they have the slightest bit of doubt, but we neither do that nor approve
of it. When we are sure that an abortion is necessary we send a report
to the mufti and the abortion is carried out."

WASHINGTON --- The government promises anyone with a computer will have
access within a few years to millions of pages from old newspapers, a slice
of American history to be viewed now only by visiting local libraries,
newspaper offices or the nation's capital.
The first of what's expected to be 30 million digitized pages from papers
published from 1836 through 1922 will be available in 2006.
"Anyone who's interested -- teachers, students, historians, lawyers,
politicians, even newspaper reporters -- will be able to go to their computer
at home or at work and at a click of a mouse get immediate, unfiltered
access to the greatest source of our history," said Bruce Cole, chairman of
the National Endowment for the Humanities. He announced the project in a
speech at the National Press Club.
Now, the only way to view the old papers is to pore through many thousands
of microfilm reels at the Library of Congress, regional libraries and
newspaper offices.
The Library of Congress already has put together a small sample. It has
digitized issues of the U.S. military newspaper "Stars and Stripes" during
World War I, February 1918 to June 1919.
Cole said the National Digital Newspaper Program is to further the founding
fathers' belief that knowledge of history was a necessity for government by
the people.
"American amnesia is dangerous," he said. "Democracy is not self-sustaining;
it needs to be learned and passed down from generation to generation. We
have to know our great founding principles, how our institutions came into
being, how they work, what our rights and responsibilities are."
The National Endowment for the Humanities is working on the project with the
Library of Congress, which has embarked on a broader project to preserve
records of American newspapers dating from the late 1600s.
The span of the joint project is limited because type faces of printers used
before 1836 are too difficult for optical scanners to read, and copyright
restrictions are in force on papers published after 1923.
Cole said the new program is a cornerstone of an undertaking called "We the
People," supported by President Bush and Congress to improve the teaching of
American history at all levels of education.

It has been a long road for Bush and Rice since she tutored the then- Texas governor on foreign policy before his 2000 presidential campaign, a time when war was far from everyone's mind and Rice thought that being provost of Stanford University at 38 was the toughest job she'd ever had. Since then, Rice, now 50, has been at Bush's side as national security adviser through the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the invasion of Afghanistan, nuclear brinksmanship between India and Pakistan and a war in Iraq that has fractured alliances with Europe and whose future remains a dangerous unknown.
Rice's elevation to the State Department is widely seen as cementing the aggressive foreign policy stance that has been the Bush administration's hallmark. Whether Rice will continue that direction or use her close relationship with Bush to shift U.S policy in a more moderate direction is yet to be seen. "Above all, Dr. Rice has a deep, abiding belief in the value and power of liberty because she has seen freedom denied and freedom reborn," Bush said in announcing her nomination in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. "As a girl in the segregated South, Dr. Rice saw the promise of America violated by racial discrimination and by the violence that comes from hate," Bush said. "But she was taught by her mother, Angelina, and her father, the Rev. John Rice, that human dignity is the gift of God and that the ideals of America would overcome oppression. That early wisdom has guided her through life, and that truth has guided our nation to a better day." An important hearing in the legal fight by Ernst Zundel to revoke his
February 2003 deportation from the United States is set for Thursday
morning.
The "application for habeas corpus" hearing is scheduled for Thursday,
November 18, at 10 a.m., in Eastern Tennessee District Court, 800 Market
Street, Room 4, Knoxville. It is open to the public.
Zundel, 65, is a German-born graphic artist, publisher, historical
revisionist, and civil rights activist. In August 2000 he moved from
Canada, where he had lived for 42 years, to Sevierville County,
Tennessee, to make a new home with his wife, Dr. Ingrid Rimland, a US
citizen. Seeking to live permanently in the US, the INS had accepted his
"application for adjustment of status."
On Feb. 5, 2003, INS officials, accompanied by local law enforcement
officers, seized Zundel without warning or arrest warrant at the
couple's eastern Tennessee home. Two weeks later he was deported to
Canada, allegedly for having "overstayed his visa" and having "missed a
hearing."
In August the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati overturned an
earlier court decision and ruled that Zundel is entitled to a "habeas
corpus" hearing on his deportation.
For more than a year and a half Zundel has been held in solitary confinement
at the Metropolitan West Detention Center in Rexdale, near Toronto. His
ordeal has attracted international media attention. Demonstrations
demanding freedom for this "political prisoner" and "prisoner of
conscience" have been held across Canada and in Los Angeles and Seattle.
At the hearing on Thursday, Zundel's attorney is expected to submit in
evidence a recently videotaped deposition in which Zundel reviews the
facts of his case and refutes US government accusations.
His former immigration attorney, Rehim Babaoglu of Memphis, is also set
to testify. He is expected to explain that at the time of his arrest
Zundel was carefully complying with all relevant regulations and
procedures, and that US government claims that Zundel "missed a hearing"
and "overstayed his visa" are demonstrably false.
The United States Attorney is now claiming that the Knoxville Court has
no jurisdiction to hear the case because Zundel entered under a
specialized "visa waiver" program giving authority to the INS to seize
and deport him without hearing. In fact, the government's visa waiver
authority had lapsed at the time he entered the USA.

new politics that might provide a realistic and enactable
alternative to the familiar sorry political scene around us that has
just ratified its decadent and corrupt nature with the re-election
of George W. Bush. We are convinced that the American empire, now
imposing its military might on 153 countries around the world, is as
fragile as empires historically tend to be, and that it might well
implode upon itself in the near future. Before that happens, no
matter what shape the United States may take, we believe there is at
this moment an opportunity to push through new political ideas
and projects that will offer true popular participation and genuine
democracy. The time to prepare for that is now.
In our deliberations we considered many kinds of strategies for
a new politics and eventually decided upon the inauguration of a
campaign to monitor, study, promote, and develop agencies of
separatism. By separatism we mean all the forms by which small
political bodies, dedicated to the precept of human scale, distance
themselves from larger ones, as in decentralization, dissolution,
disunion, division, devolution, or secession, creating small and
independent bodies that rule themselves. Of course we favor such
polities that operate with participatory democracy and egalitarian
justice, which are attainable only at a small scale, but the
primary principle is that these states should enact their separation
and self-government as they see fit.
It is important to realize that the separatist/independence
movement is the most important and widespread political force in the
world today and has been for the last half-century, during which
time the United Nations, for example, has grown from 51 nations in
1945 to 193 nations in 2004. The break-up of the Soviet Union and
the former Yugoslavia are recent manifestations of this fundamental
trend, and there are separatist movements in more than two dozen
countries at this time, including such well-known ones as in
Catalonia, Scotland, Lapland, Sardinia, Sicily, Sudan, Congo,
Kashmir, Chechnya, Kurdistan, Quebec, British Columbia, Mexico, and
the Indian nations of North America.
There is no reason that we cannot begin to examine the processes
of secession in the United States. There are already at least 28
separatist organizations in this country-the most active seem to be
in Alaska, Cascadia, Texas, Hawaii, Vermont, Puerto Rico, and the
South-and there seems to be a growing sentiment that, because the
national government has shown itself to be clumsy, unresponsive, and
unaccountable in so many ways, power should be concentrated at
lower levels. Whether these levels should be the states or coherent
regions within the states or something smaller still is a matter
best left to the people active in devolution, but the principle of
secession must be established as valid and legitimate.
To this end, therefore, we are pledged to create a movement that
will place secession on the national agenda, encourage nonviolent
secessionist organizations throughout the country, develop
communication among existing and future secessionist groups, and
create a body of scholarship to examine and promote the ideas and
principles of secessionism.

The apology was issued after receiving complaints from viewers and from the NFL, the Associated Press reported.
The news service reported the segment featured a naked actress, Nicollette Sheridan, jumping into the arms of the Philadelphia Eagles' Terrell Owens. The Eagles played the Dallas Cowboys in Monday's game.
The feature was meant to spoof the ABC's hit show "Desperate Housewives." Owens is seen in an empty locker room with Sheridan, who stars in the show, wearing only a towel.
According to the report, Sheridan provocatively asked Owens to skip the game for her. After she dropped her towel, he agreed to be late for the contest and hugged her.
The scene then pans out to two other stars of "Desperate Housewives," Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman, who had been watching the scene on a monitor.
"We have heard from many of our viewers about last night's MNF opening segment and we agree that the placement was inappropriate," ABC said in a statement. "We apologize."
AP reported the NFL called the intro "inappropriate and unsuitable for our 'Monday Night Football' audience."

The bloodletting has begun.
I'm not referring to the latest attempt to reconquer Iraq, but rather the wholesale political revenge campaign being waged by the hard-liners in the Bush administration against anybody and everybody inside the government who challenged the way the second Persian Gulf war in a decade was marketed and run.
Out: Secretary of State Colin Powell, whose political epitaph should now read, "You break it, you own it" for his prescient but unwanted warning to the president on the danger of imperial overreach in Iraq.
Out: Top CIA officials who dared challenge, behind the scenes, the White House's unprecedented exploitation of raw intelligence data in order to sell a war to a Congress and a public hungry for revenge after 9/11.
Out: Veteran CIA counterterrorism expert and Osama bin Laden hunter Michael Scheuer, better known as the best-selling author "Anonymous," whose balanced and devastating critiques of the Iraq war, the CIA and the way President Bush is handling the war on terror have been a welcome counterpoint to the "it's true if we say it's true" idiocy of the White House PR machine.
Meanwhile, incompetence begat by ideological blindness has been rewarded. The neoconservatives who created the ongoing Iraq mess have more than survived the failure of their impossibly rosy scenarios for a peaceful and democratic Iraq under U.S. rule. In fact, despite calls for their resignations - from the former head of the U.S. Central Command, Gen. Anthony Zinni, among others - the neocon gang is thriving. They have not been held responsible for the "16 words" about yellowcake, the rise and fall of Ahmad Chalabi, the Abu Ghraib scandal, the post-invasion looting of Iraq's munitions stores and the disastrous elimination of the Iraqi armed forces.
As of today, the neocons on Zinni's list of losers - Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul D. Wolfowitz; the vice president's chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby; National Security Council staffer Elliott Abrams; Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas J. Feith and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld - are all still employed even as Bush's new director of central intelligence, Porter J. Goss, is eviscerating the CIA's leadership.
This is the culmination of a three-year campaign by the president's men to scapegoat the CIA for the fact that 9/11 occurred on Bush's watch.
So far, half a dozen of the nation's top spymasters have been forced out abruptly - a strange way to handle things at a time when Bin Laden and Al Qaeda are still seeking to attack the U.S. Ironically, this all comes as Goss is suppressing a lengthy study, prepared for Congress by the CIA's inspector general, that, according to an intelligence official who has read it, names individuals in the government responsible for failures that paved the way for the 9/11 attacks.
Thus Bush, with Goss as his hatchet man, is having it both ways: He can be seen to be cleaning house at the CIA - when he is simply punishing independent voices - while denying Congress access to an independent audit of actual intelligence failures.
We should remember that as flawed as its performance was under former Director George J. Tenet, the CIA at least sometimes tried to be a counterweight to the fraudulent claims of Rumsfeld's and Dick Cheney's neoconservative staffs. All of the nation's traditional intelligence centers were bypassed by a rogue operation based in Feith's Office of Special Plans. Feith was given broad access to raw intelligence streams - the better to cherry-pick factoids and fabrications that found their way into even the president's crucial prewar State of the Union address.
Now, by successfully discarding those who won't buy into the administration's ideological fantasies of remaking the world in our image, the neoconservatives have consolidated control of the United States' vast military power.
With the ravaging of the CIA and the ousting of Powell - instead of the more-deserving Rumsfeld - the coup of the neoconservatives is complete. They have achieved a remarkable political victory by failing upward.

Tanks and fighting vehicles had smashed through the southern Falluja neighborhood of Shuhada, the last major rebel stronghold in the city, on Sunday. But a die-hard band of the insurgents hid in some of the houses and other shelters at the furthest southern edge of Shuhada and emerged this morning, after the tanks had left, setting off a five-hour gun battle when ground troops arrived.
The wave of guerilla assaults rolled across the Sunni triangle, with the sharpest surge in violence coming in the morning in Baquba, 35 miles northwest of the capital. There, insurgents laid siege to a police station downtown and to one in a southern suburb.
Guerillas fired from a mosque at American soldiers and piled out of a bus to take up positions on a rooftop in a part of town called Old Baquba, said Capt. Bill Coppernoll, a spokesman for the First Infantry Division, charged with controlling the area.

EBay to Ban 'Racially Derogatory' Search Terms

(CNSNews.com) - The Internet auction giant eBay plans to implement a "pop-up" notification when "racially derogatory" search terms are entered on the website. EBay will formally announce the change on Wednesday, which the National League of Cities has been pushing.
John Pionke, a media relations official with the National League of Cities (NLC), declined to offer specific examples of the derogatory words in question, but explained that the campaign was started about a year ago by a member of the organization.
Philadelphia Councilwoman Marian Tasco "was doing a search on eBay and something came up that offended her greatly," Pionke said. Tasco chairs the NLC's National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials.
A CNSNews.com search of certain "racially offensive" terms on the site did produce a page of items for sale containing the "n" word. Most of the results were in the form of book or artwork titles.
When asked if such items or their titles would be prohibited from eBay listings, Pionke explained that, "There's going to be like a pop-up on eBay saying that ... the words are not acceptable for usage on eBay."
Pionke said his organization was not pursuing the censorship of sexually or religiously derogatory search terms. The CNSNews.com search produced items for sale that contained the phrase, "bible thumpers," as well as a derogatory term for homosexual.
"I think at this stage we were concerned about certain words that were popping up," Pionke explained. "They might expand that themselves, eBay, but we're targeting this particular area (racially offensive terms) right now."
David Almasi of the conservative Project 21 said the move could restrict the buying power of customers.
"Certainly you don't want to have people using the n-word in an eBay listing," he said, "but if it's something that has to deal with it ... someone can't sell that anymore," he said. Almasi used the example of Randall Kennedy's book "N****r," which bills itself as a scholarly study of the word. Kennedy's book came up during the CNSNews.com search of the eBay listings.
"If you're just making words illegal simply because of their past, especially in eBay's regard, they're potentially knocking themselves out of some commerce," Almasi said. While you're trying to save some people's feelings, you're hurting some other people's collectible options," he added.
While eBay's current listing policies prohibit "profanity or patently offensive language," they do not apply specifically to "racist" words.
Neither Marian Tasco of the National League of Cities, nor representatives from eBay returned telephone calls from CNSNews.com seeking comment for this report.

CIA whistleblower sees 'long war'
The CIA agent who headed the hunt for Osama Bin Laden in the late 1990s has
called for a national debate in the US on the cost of support for Israel.
Mike Scheuer quit the CIA last week, as did CIA deputy director John
McLaughlin, fuelling rumours of serious internal rifts and low morale.
In a BBC interview, Mr Scheuer said US policies risked "an extraordinarily
long and bloody war" against al-Qaeda.
Al-Qaeda's antagonism to the US was based on "a specific set of US policies
that have been in gear for 30 years and have not been reviewed, have not
been debated, have not been questioned", he said.
Instead, both contenders in the recent US presidential election had told
voters that al-Qaeda was opposed to American values on women's rights or the
sale of alcohol, warnings that sidestepped many major issues.
Al-Qaeda's hostility stemmed from US government's "unqualified support for
Israel" and desire "to manipulate the price of oil" in favour of Western
consumers, he said.
Confronting big issues
In his view, "there should be a debate over support for Israel", alternative
energy and how the US manages its relationship with the Muslim world.
He offered no policy blueprint, saying that US citizens might decide to
continue to support existing strategy, but would then be able to do so
knowing the risks.
"The American people would be going into the future knowing that they were
faced with an extraordinarily long and bloody war to be fought because of
those policies", he said.

declares Oriana Fallaci in her new book, La Forza della Ragione ("The Force
of Reason"). And the famed Italian journalist is right: Christianity's
ancient stronghold of Europe is rapidly giving way to Islam.
Two factors mainly contribute to this world-shaking development.
- The hollowing out of Christianity. Europe is increasingly a
post-Christian society, one with a diminishing connection to its tradition
or its historic values. The numbers of believing, observant Christians has
collapsed in the past two generations to the point that some observers call
it the "new dark continent." Already, analysts estimate Britain's mosques
host more worshippers each week than does the Church of England.
- An anemic birth rate. Indigenous Europeans are dying out. Sustaining a
population requires each woman on average to bear 2.1 children; in the
European Union, the overall rate is a one-third short, at 1.5 per woman, and
falling. One study finds that, should current population trends continue and
immigration cease, today's population of 375 million could decline to 275
million by 2075. To keep its working population even, the EU needs 1.6
million immigrants a year; to sustain the present workers-to-retirees ratio
requires an astonishing 13.5 million immigrants annually.
Into the void are coming Islam and Muslims. As Christianity falters, Islam
is robust, assertive, and ambitious. As Europeans under-reproduce at
advanced ages, Muslims do so in large numbers while young.
Some 5 percent of the EU, or nearly 20 million persons, presently identify
themselves as Muslims; should current trends continue, that number will
reach 10 percent by 2020. If non-Muslims flee the new Islamic order, as
seems likely, the continent could be majority-Muslim within decades.
When that happens, grand cathedrals will appear as vestiges of a prior
civilization (the jahiliya?) at least until a Saudi-style regime
transforms them into mosques or a Taliban-like regime blows them up. The
great national cultures Italian, French, English, and others will likely
wither, replaced by a new transnational Muslim identity that merges North
African, Turkish, subcontinental, and other elements.
This prediction is hardly new. In 1968, the British politician Enoch
Powell gave his famed "rivers of blood" speech in which he warned that in
allowing excessive immigration, the United Kingdom was "heaping up its own
funeral pyre." (Those words stalled a hitherto promising career.) In 1973,
the French writer Jean Raspail published Camp of the Saints, a novel that
portrays Europe falling to massive, uncontrolled immigration from the Indian
subcontinent. The peaceable transformation of a region from one major
civilization to another, now underway, has no precedent in human history,
making it easy to ignore such voices.
There is still a chance for the transformation not to play itself out, but
the prospects diminish with time. Here are several possible ways it might be
stopped:
Changes in Europe that lead to a resurgence of Christian faith, an
increase in childbearing, or the cultural assimilation of immigrants; such
developments can theoretically occur but what would cause them are hard to
imagine.
Muslim modernization: For reasons no one has quite figured out (education
of women? abortion on demand? adults too self-absorbed to have children?),
modernity leads to a drastic reduction in the birthrate. Also, were the
Muslim world to modernize, the attraction of moving to Europe would
diminish.
Immigration from other sources. Latin Americans, being Christian, would
more or less permit Europe to keep its historic identity. Hindus and Chinese
would increase the diversity of cultures, making it less likely that Islam
would dominate.
Current trends suggest Islamization will happen, for Europeans seem to
find it too strenuous to have children, stop illegal immigration, or even
diversify their sources of immigrants. Instead, they prefer to settle
unhappily into civilizational senility.
Europe has simultaneously reached unprecedented heights of prosperity and
peacefulness and shown a unique inability to sustain itself (one
demographer, Wolfgang Lutz, notes that "Negative momentum has not been
experienced on a large scale in world history").
Is it inevitable that the most brilliantly successful society also be the
first in danger of collapse due to a lack of cultural confidence and
offspring? Ironically, creating a hugely desirable place to live would seem
also to be a recipe for suicide. The human comedy continues.

Last week I received the final decision of the INS Board of Appeals regarding my case: They simply refused to look at it and confirmed the decision by the INS court "without opinion".
The decision of the INS court was handed down in summer 2003: They claim I filed a frivolous application, resulting in: unvoluntary departure (=in handcuffs to Germany), banned for a lifetime (I can never return to the US), and no remedy (even my current marriage or anything else can change that). This verdict is similar to what Ernst Zündel faced in February 2003.
We now have to file an appeal to a Federal Court until early December. There is a slim chance that this court will refuse to hear my case as well. If that happens, I will be in a German dungeon early next year. In case they do hear my case, they will probably decide later next year. Whether it will result in a chance of having a remedy (my marriage) needs to be proven. Theoretically they have to throw all due process laws into the dust bin to deny me that right, because legally speaking I was sentenced for a crime (frivolous application = forgery of evidence) of which I was neither accused during the trial, nor does the verdict claim to have any evidence for it. To compare what the INS has done with a penal parallel: They accused me of theft during the trial, but in the written verdict they suddenly sentenced my for murder, without even claiming that there is any evidence that I murdered anyone. But it would not be the first time that courts break the law in order to do exactly that: getting rid of revisionists. I therefore do not have too many illusions.
Since all of my IDs have expired, I sit in a trap here without another chance to go elsewhere. So if that appeal to the Federal Court fails, the worldwide productivity of revisionism will go down 90% for five years to come (I hope they put all of my thought crimes into one case, or otherwise it may result in ten years plus...).
During the next several days I will get in touch with some of you in order to make sure, that my website and all other vital life signs of revisionism as created by me keep buzzing should I go lop-sided.

Search for Jewish survivors subject of documentary
Tott matter-of-factly says the documentary researchers have become
engrossed in the story of how the 18 black-and-white photos he took on
April 10, 1945, have changed dozens of lives.
In 1995, an Ahlem survivor wrote a letter in an Army newsletter,
looking for the soldier who had taken those pictures, which had been
gathering dust in Tott's basement for 50 years. Tott saw the letter,
contacted the man, and a strong friendship was born.
Since then, Tott has helped locate 30 Ahlem survivors. They honored
him a year ago by having his name engraved in the U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.
An Associated Press story about the ceremony caught the eye of
producers at the University of Florida's Documentary Institute.
"We were intrigued by that element of chance and this intense
friendship that's developed," said Sandra Dickson, the film's
co-director. "First and foremost, we're interested in his quest.
Despite failing health, he continues to search for these men."
Once completed, "Angel of Ahlem" will be shown at film festivals. The
two most likely destinations for the film will be either public
television or cable channel HBO, Dickson said. It could also appear in
Sioux City movie theaters.

Poland to show solidarity with the Polish people

French political leaders also displayed solidarity
with the wild hoaxes of anti-Semitism in France.
Laws to protect the predatory behavior of third world
immigrants are popping up everywhere. Not just in
Europe, in the U.S. as well.
Famous former sex symbol Brigitte Bardot is currently
doing time in a French prison for her criticism of

Great Britain has a special force that listens in on
private conversation to detect "anti-immigration

But worst of all is the U.S. The land of the free and
the home of the brave. The country that is bringing
freedom and liberty to half of the world is
prosecuting its citizens on hate crime laws. Like with
animals, the world has created the "Endangered Human
Act." Anything that is not white is included in this
protection act. Hate crime laws have been passed in
all states and the federal government has reinforced
them. "Racism, bigotry and anti-Semitism" are the
anchors of these laws.
The husband who defended his wife against the sexual
advances of a black guy is in prison. The high-school
student who got fed up with the gang violence on his
campus is doing time in juvenile hall.
A new war has been declared and it is probably the
most important one the Western world has ever fought.
It doesn't look so good for Western culture. Third
world immigration has already eroded standards in most
European countries and the U.S.
For example: Diseases long cured are back; public
parks, forests and beaches are closed down because of
health hazards due to feces contamination; cities,
states and federal governments have invented
affirmative action programs and en mass hired totally
unqualified third world immigrants; education
standards have been lowered so these immigrants could
keep up; today you'll find dentists, doctors, city
managers, state counsels, directors and even ceo's in
the colorful landscape of business. The results have
been devastating.
With this many unqualified people in charge, public
services are at a new low. Emergency rooms are filled.
City, County and State budgets are mismanaged.
European countries, as well as the U.S., are offering
immigrants elaborate welfare benefits at the cost of
the native citizens. Paris, London, Munich, Amsterdam,
Berlin, Wien, L.A, New York, Washington DC, Seattle,
and so many more have now become metropolitans of
crime and violence.
Inner cities are abandoned and are now the
headquarters for diverse street gangs. Huge housing
projects have turned big cities into ghettos. You can
find these symptoms all around the world.
In the Netherlands, the native had finally enough.
While in the U.S. the white are fleeing to the states
they deem to be safe, the Dutch decided to fight back.
As you know, I am opposed to senseless violence,
however, when it comes to defending my life and that
of my family, I am all for it. The choices are very
little for the Europeans. Imagine, open criticism of
Muslims gets you assassinated! Here, violence turns
into self-defense and self-defense is a must in order
to survive!!!
We Americans have no idea what it means to stay
because there is no choice. America is so big that the
fleeing can continue for another few decades. On the
other hand, Germany, for example, fits twice into
California. There isn't anywhere to go for the
Europeans. There is only one choice, become a slave to
Muslim terror or fight.
And some of the Europeans have decided to fight. In
Germany, recent election results favored parties that
are opposed to immigration. The Dutch are fighting
fire with fire.
The re-election of George W. Bush wasn't so much an
endorsement of his presidency than a vote of
desperation. You've heard all the conspiracy theories
- they come all from people who have no relation to
the real world. I've been involved with the
conservative community for years. They are all ready
for us. They oppose immigration, they are against
affirmative action, against Christian bashing and they
are against the elimination of their constitutional
rights. However, the extreme agenda of third party
candidates keeps driving them to the Republican
candidates.
No matter what you say, there was no choice for the
conservatives in the last election. At least, the
Republican protects Christianity and the Second
Amendment, cuts taxes and gives the appearance of
hope. A hope that our movement has not been able to
give them. So they continue to flee to the furthest
corner of the U.S. and vote Republican.
In Europe, this is not possible. The cage is so small
and with their backs against the wall, only one choice
is left. So, maybe those who say things in the U.S.
still have to get worse before it gets any better, are
probably right!!

BACKGROUND: This Uhland poemalso known as "Der gute
Kamerad"was written in 1809 and later set to music by
the German composer Friedrich Silcher in 1825 (using
an old folk melody, "Ein schwarzbraunes Mädchen hat
ein'n Feldjäger lieb"). Uhland's poem (or Lied) was
inspired by the Tyrolian freedom fighters and their
struggle against Napoleon. It was popular enough
during World War I to be parodied as "Ich hatt' mal
Marmelade," reflecting the soldiers' hunger and lack
of rations. Although it was written much earlier, the
poem/song is often quoted/performed in memory of the
veterans of the two world wars and for the German
veterans day observance known as Volkstrauertag (on
the third Sunday in November).

"We're going to have to provide a vision that is more bold than incrementalism. What's the choice? Europe has made enormous steps in the years since NAFTA was signed. China has been going through a transformative process. In Canada, our only leverage is access to the U.S. market. The "NAFTA-plus" plan has also been referred to as "deep integration." Skeptics see it as a plan to eliminate national sovereignty and erode the American concept of representative government accountable to the people under the framework of the Constitution.
Discussions so far indicate that Canada, under the new agreement, would immediately sign on to the U.S. strategic missile defense initiative. yesterday, I wrote to a man in Sweden that Jurgen was a true historian.
He gives undue credit to the Jewish "partisans". They were not fighting the

where the Jews hid. By saying that they fought the Germans, Jurgen is
promoting Jewish propaganda.
Jurgen says: " ... ... or the 180,000 Poles who died in the crushing of
the uprising of the Warsaw ghetto. ... ... " - What utter nonsese!
It did not happen!!!!
The "uprising" in the ghetto was in April 1943 and it started ONLY because a
small group of young Jews were to leave the city led by Poles from the
Underground. But the Germans entered the ghetto to evacuate it and the
Jews, who were then armed by the Poles, started shooting. That's how their
"uprising" started. It was not planned. The term "uprising" was then given
by the Poles in sympathy with the Jews.
Approximately 180,000 (but that number varies) Poles were killed by the
Germans in Aug.- Sept. 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising when the Red Army
stood on the right bank of the Vistula watching the city being murdered. As
the Red Army approached Warsaw, the Poles started the Uprising with the hope
of preventing the Communists from establishing a Communist government in the
capital. The German Army, which was then already leaving Warsaw in a hurry,
stopped, and the Red Army stopped advancing. In effect, the Germans killed
that many patriotic, antiCommunist Poles and destroyed their capital for the
Soviets. I was in Warsaw at that time. I witnessed the ghetto "uprising"
and took part in the Warsaw Uprising.

"I cannot make any promise to the audience other than this: This show ain't changing at all," he said. "I can't promise that I won't say something that will be truly offensive to many, as my comment that created this entire situation, was."
Members of Milwaukee's Latino community protested the radio host after the remark, and he sarcastically apologized and then joked about the issue for several days. Belling later issued a written apology in a local newspaper.
WISN Radio took Belling off the air last week amid continued protests and the withdrawal of several advertisers.
"The comment that I made was an aberration, and everyone who listens to the program knows that," Belling said Monday. "This does not mean I should get a pass for it. I don't believe in passes. I am a strong advocate of personal responsibility and I should be held responsible."
Belling, an occasional fill-in for national conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh, has been on WISN for 15 years and consistently draws top ratings for his target audience of men ages 25 to 54.
The coalition that formed to protest Belling said it intends to target the station's owner, Clear Channel Communications, and still seeks to have Belling permanently taken off the air.

First, let us distinguish between Judaism and Zionism. Judaism is an ancient religion going back to antiquity; its bible is the Old Testament. Modern Zionism is a political movement going back 150 years; its bible is the Protocols of the Members of the Elders of Zion. The success of Zionism is due to the immense sponsoring wealth of the Rothschild Dynasty and its astonishing political genius and cunning. It concocted a homeland in Palestine to unify World Jewry for its purposes. Very few people have read the Protocols; this was their undoing. There is no question that the Protocols accurately predict, as of a century ago, exactly what is happening in the world today. And Zionism is the thread that links all events. Zionism means to rule the world from Jerusalem.
Historically, Jews have had a poor reputation. It is their culture of money. They have never learned that humanity is fulfilled by Nature, Love, Art and Effort. They think it is Money and Power. They never assimilate in a society; they always strive for preference and superiority. Most commentators on the Israeli-Arab conflict usually apply political,
historical and/or sociological analysis in order to arrive at a meaningful
argument. Although I appreciate the importance of these analytical fields,
I will
argue that there is another layer of reasoning that has been
systematically or
even intentionally ignored. I refer to the analysis of 'Jewish
understanding'. I
suggest that uncovering the philosophy behind a number of fundamental
Jewish
precepts will clearly manifest the terrible truth that the Israeli-Arab
conflict is conditionally unresolved.
For many years I have experienced deep feelings of disappointment and
disenchantment with my own people. As we all know, identity can be a
complicated
issue. One does not have a say regarding one's parents, place of birth,
gender,
racial origin or even religious inheritance. Nobody asked me if I wanted
to be
born a Jew or an Israeli. Nobody consulted me when I was just eight days
old
about whether I wanted to sacrifice a part of my body in order to
determine my
identity. When I was just over a week old, without proving any superiority
or
excellence in any given domain, I became 'chosen'. I have to admit that
most of
the Jewish people I have ever came across are more than happy with their
given identity and are proud to be Jewish. Unfortunately I am not. On the
contrary, the older I get the more I find myself ashamed of my own people
and this
paper is about my shame.
First, I must emphasise the important distinction to be made between
Judaism
and Jewish Understanding. While Judaism is a religion, a collection of
thoughts, laws, ideas and rituals, 'Jewish understanding' is what Jewish
people make
out of those concepts, what Jewish people make out of Judaism. The
difference
between Judaism and Jewish Understanding is similar to the distinction
between
ideology and praxis or Marxism and Stalinism or Christianity and the
Inquisition.
I would like to address the concept of "choseness". I believe that
"choseness" is one of the most fundamental characteristics of 'Jewish
understanding'.
One can remove a substantial amount of religious law and ritual from
Jewish life
(e.g. the Reform movement) and one can even remove the whole of religious
practice without really affecting Jewish identity (as we know there are
many
secular Jews). But whenever one removes "choseness", there is very little
left
with which the Jew can identify. In other words, by removing "choseness",
the
Jew, in effect, becomes converted to something else (converted into
Christianity
or, more generally, into an ordinary human being ) . The concept of
"choseness" is bound up with many Jewish concepts of self-alienation or
even positive
discrimination such as Kosher food, Minian as well as the process of
conversion.
These concepts share a common denominator that suppress any experience of
social interaction with the Other. In other words, Jews are discouraged
from
assimilating with their non-Jewish environment (the Hebrew word for
assimilation
is Hit-bo-le-lout which comes from the root word Blil which is commonly
understood to mean 'mass' or 'confusion', hence le-hit-bo-lel , to
assimilate, means
to get confused, to be one of the mass, to lose your authenticity ). The
result of this is that the possibility of "loving thy neighbour" is
denied.
In general, as we shall see, 'Jewish understanding' (unlike Judaism) leads
to
ignorance of the Other. When I talk about the Other, I refer to that which
is
conditionally different from myself. The Other is the one with whom one
can
empathize because, and only because, he is different. An interaction with
the
Other tests one's tolerance. The Bible calls you to love the Other as much
as
you love yourself (Leviticus 19;18) but who is the Other? Can he be a
black
man? An Arab? A man in general? Can he be a goy (a gentile)? Should I
empathize
with the goy? Should I be tolerant of him? This is where we face a major
distinction between Judaism and 'Jewish understanding'. While Judaism can
live
peacefully with the general and broad concept of 'loving thy neighbour',
'Jewish
understanding', in most practical cases, opposes it completely. As we
know,
Christ as a Jewish spiritual leader, interpreted the Jewish notion of the
Other as
friend or brother. We are all sons of God and equally loved by God. Hence,
I
should love my neighbour as if he is my brother. In other words,
unconditionally (Jews, as we all know, never accepted Christ's
interpretation of tolerance
and equality ).
Nowadays, this concept of love of the Other is rejected by many Jews and
if I
am wrong please explain to me why it is so difficult for the goy to
convert
to Judaism? Why in the Jewish state, after more than 35 years of invasion
and
oppression, is there hardly any Jewish voice calling for compassion to be
shown
to the Palestinian population? Why is it that there is hardly any call
from
Jewish communities throughout the world to stop the racially motivated and
inhuman attacks on the Palestinian civilian population? Why is it that the
Jewish
world hardly ever condemns Israel for its brutality? We must therefore
learn
to interpret the notion of "choseness" in its common 'Jewish
understanding' as
anti-humanitarian.
Master Slave Dialectic
One way to reflect upon the concept of "choseness" is through a deep
understanding of the Hegelian concept of the 'Master-Slave Dialectic'.
According to Hegel, attaining 'self-consciousness' (self -aware) is a
process
which necessarily involves the Other. How am I to become conscious of
myself
in general? It is simply through desire or anger, for example. Whenever I
am
angry it is 'Me' who feels angry. But unlike animals that overcome
biological
needs by destroying another organic entity, human desire is a desire for
recognition.
In Hegelian terms, this is accomplished by directing oneself towards
non-being, that is towards another desire, another emptiness, another I.
It is
something that can never be fully accomplished. "The man who desires a
thing humanly
acts not so much to possess the thing as to make another recognise his
right.
It is only desire of such recognition, it is only the action that flows
from
such desire, that creates, realizes and reveals a human, non biological
I." (
Kojeve A., Introduction to the Reading Of Hegel, 1947, (Cornell Univ.
Press,
1993), p. 40 ) Following this Hegelian line of thinking, we can deduce
that in
order to develop self-consciousness, one must face the Other. While the
biological entity will fight for its biological continuity, a human being
fights for
recognition.
In order to understand the practical implications of this idea, let us
turn
to the 'Master-Slave dialectic'. The Master is called the Master because
he
strives to prove his superiority over nature and over the slave who is
forced to
recognize him as a master.
At first glance, it looks as if the master has reached the peak of human
existence but as we shall see, this is not the case. As we have learned
already,
humans fight for recognition. The master is recognized by the slave as a
master
but the slave's recognition has little value. The master wants to be
recognized by another man but a slave is not a man. The master wants
recognition by a
master but another master cannot allow another superior human being in his
world. "In short, the master never succeeds in realizing his end, the end
for
which he risks his very life" . So the master faces a dead-end. But what
about
the slave? The slave is in the process of transforming himself since,
unlike the
master who cannot go any further, the slave has everything to aspire to.
The
slave is led to transform the social conditions in which he lives. The
slave
is the embodiment of history. He is the essence of progress.
A Lesson in Mastery
Now after such a philosophical introduction, let us apply the Hegelian
concept to the "choseness" mechanism. While the Hegelian 'Master' risks
his
biological existence to become a master, the new-born Jewish infant risks
his
foreskin. The chosen infant is born into the realm of mastery and
excellence without
(yet) excelling at anything. The chosen baby is awarded his prestigious
status
without facing any process of recognition by the Other. The title of
"choseness" is given to Jews by God rather than by the Other.
If we try to analyse the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the Hegelian
mechanism of recognition, we realise the impossibility of any dialogue
between
the two parties. While it is more than clear that the Palestinian people
are
fighting for recognition which they declare at every possible opportunity,
the
Israelis avoid the whole recognition issue completely. They are convinced
that
they are already fully recognized in the first place. They know who they
are -
they are born masters. Israelis refuse to join the 'meaning
transformation'
game and instead divert all their intellectual, political and military
efforts
into demolishing any sense of Palestinian recognition. The battle for
Israeli
society is to suppress any Palestinian symbol or desire, whether material,
spiritual or cultural.
Strangely enough, the Palestinians are managing quite well in their fight
for
recognition. More and more people are starting to understand the just
nature
of the Palestinian cause and the injustice of continued Israeli military
occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The world finds the
Palestinian people
and spokesmen very easy to empathize with. The Israelis, on the other
hand,
are completely untrained in such manoeuvres. They are out of the game. The
public finds them almost impossible to sympathize with. While a
Palestinian will
call you to share his pain and misery, talking straight to your heart in
order
to convert you, the Israeli spokesman, usually (but not necessarily) an
army
officer, will order you to accept his strange views. He will insist on
selling
you a ready-made historical scheme; a repetitive poem that starts
somewhere
around Biblical Abraham, continues with the Holocaust and leads towards
more
bloodshed. It seems as if the Israelis always present the same faceless
(Can one
imagine the faces of six million victims or the face of Abraham. Israeli
propaganda appears to be an analytical argument built upon faceless
characters )
story (Can Abraham and the Holocaust justify Israeli inhuman behaviour?).
Following Hegel, we learn that recognition is a dynamic process, it is a
type
of understanding that grows in you. While the Palestinians will use all
their
available resources to make you look them in the face, in their eyes, to
carry you into a dynamic process of mutual recognition, the Israelis will
try to
convince you that there is no Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian
entity, there is no Palestinian history or culture.
My way of interpreting this bizarre ideological and political Israeli b
ehaviour is based upon the Israeli lack of a 'recognition mechanism'. The
Israelis
lack an understanding of history as a flux, as a dynamic process, as a
progression towards 'realizing oneself', a meaning transformation game.
Israel and
Israelis view themselves as if they are external to history. They do not
progress
toward self-realization because they have a given, fixed identity. While
the
Palestinians see themselves as a nation progressing towards meaning and
self-realization, the Israelis are struggling to fix meanings and to
oppose any
possible process of re-naming or re-writing. In other words, the Israelis
will
oppose any possible change. I assume that this kind of traditional Israeli
fixing
of meanings is inherited from the Jewish tradition of re-reading. Judaism
is
a culture based upon a continuous re-reading of the biblical text whilst
obstinately refusing to engage in re-writing, criticising (Jews are more
than
welcome to interpret the Bible but not to re-write it. ) or reforming (As
we know,
Zionism, in its very origin, is not a religious movement. If anything, it
is
very much a secular movement. Zionism's confinement of Jewishness to an
ethnic
group enables the birth of a nationalist movement. Zionism takes out of
'Jewish understanding' different patterns of 'mastery' and 'choseness' ).
It seems that people who are not trained to recognise the other are unable
to
let themselves be recognised. The Israelis are not equipped with the
mental
mechanism needed to recognize the other. Why should they? They have done
so
well for many years without having to do so. According to Hegel, one
becomes
aware of oneself via the Other. However, the 'chosen' type is already
self-aware
to start with. He is born into mastery. Israelis are not practicing any
process
of dialogue since they are born masters. In order to be fair to the
Israelis,
I have to admit that their lack of recognition mechanism has nothing to do
with their anti-Palestinian feelings. As a matter of fact, they cannot
even
recognize themselves - Israel and Israelis have a long history of
discrimination
against its own people (Jews of non-European descent such as Sephardi Jews
are
discriminated against by the Jewish elite, those of Western descent ).
Historic Materialism
If one cannot establish relationships with one's neighbour based upon
recognition of the other, there must be another way of establishing a
dialogue. If
one cannot form a dialogue based upon empathy with the other and the
rights of
the other, one must pursue another mode of communication. It seems as if
the
alternative 'chosen' dialogical method reduces any form of communication
into a
materialistic language. Almost any form of human activity, including love
and
aesthetic pleasure, can be reduced to a material value. The Chosen People
are
well practised in using this method of communication.

Following the recent legal battle between major Jewish institutions and
the
Swiss Bank, I tend to agree with Norman Finkelstein ( "The Holocaust
Industry",
Norman Finkelstein, Verso 2000, In the book Finkelstein discovers the
terrible story of Jewish organizations who turn the Holocaust memory into
an
industrial act i.e. profit making ) that, these days, very little remains
of the
Jewish Holocaust apart from various industrial forms of financial
bargaining for
compensation. According to Finkelstein, it is all about profit- making.
Without
any criticism intended by me about financial compensation, it appears as
if
some people are quick to translate their pain into gold (it is important
to
mention that pain as well as being transformed into gold, can be
transformed into
other values such as moral or aesthetic etc). However, the possibility of
transforming pain and blood into cash stands at the heart of the Israeli
false
dream - that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, especially the refugee
problem, is
resolvable. Now we know where this assumption originates. The Israelis are
fully convinced that if they were happy to come to a financial settlement
with
the Germans , the Palestinians must be equally happy to sell their lands
and
dignity. How do the Israelis arrive at such a strange conviction? Because
they
must know better than the Palestinians what the Palestinians really want.
How?
Because the Israelis are brilliant, they are the Chosen People.
When you talk to Israelis about the conflict, one of their most frequently
used arguments is the following: "When we (the Jews) came here (to
Palestine),
they (the Arabs) had nothing. Now they have electricity, work, cars,
health
services etc." This is obviously a failure to recognize the Other. It is
typical
of Chosen Israelis to expect the other to share the importance they attach
to
the acquisition of material wealth. Why should the other share my values?
Because I know what is good. Why do I know what is Good? Because I am the
best.
This arrogant and completely materialistic approach lies at the heart of
the
Oslo accords. The "new Middle East dream" shared by Shimon Peres and his
blind
assistants was about turning the region into a financial paradise in which
Israel would stand at the very centre. The Palestinians (as well as other
Arab
states) would supply Israeli industries (representing the West) with the
low cost
labour they need. In turn, they would earn money and spend it buying
Israeli
(Western) goods. Israel has tried to establish a dual coexistence in the
region
where the Palestinian people would be the eternal slaves and the Israelis
their masters. These ideas, generated by the most prestigious ideological
leaders
of the Israeli 'Labour' party, are quite surprising considering the fact
that
one would expect Labour ideologists to be familiar with the basic
principles
of Hegelian and Marxist thought. According to Hegel, it is the slave that
moves history forward. It is the slave that struggles towards his freedom.
It is
the slave who transforms himself and it is the master who eventually
vanishes.
One way of explaining why Israel ignores this understanding of history
relates
to the conditional detachment of the 'chosen' state of mind.
Welcome to Cuckoo land
Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, a Palestinian doctor who lives and works in the
occupied West Bank, referred to Israel as "trying to be David and Goliath
at the
same time" (Dr. Barghouti was speaking at a debate at the House of
Commons, 22
Nov. 2000 ). According to Dr. Barghouti, this is impossible. He also
claimed
that "Israel is probably the only state that bombs a territory it
occupies". He
found this very strange and even bizarre. Is it really strange to be David
and
Goliath simultaneously? Is it really strange to destroy your own property?
Not
if you are insane. Not if you are suffering from a disturbed mental
condition
or have lost contact with reality. The lack of mirroring (Again, seeing
oneself through the other) can lead people and nations into strange dark
corners.
The lack of a framework which would allow you to discern your own image
through
the Other, the lack of a corrective mechanism, appears to be a very
dangerous
state of affairs.
The first generation of Israeli leaders (Ben-Gurion, Eshkol, Meir, Peres,
Begin) grew up in the Diaspora, mainly in Eastern Europe. Being a Jew
living in a
non-Jewish environment forces one to develop a sharpened self-awareness
and
imposes a certain kind of mirroring . This was not enough to restrain
those
European leaders from aggressive acts (e.g.. Dir-Yassin, Nakbah, Kafer
Kasem, the
'67 war etc.) but more than enough to teach them a lesson in diplomacy.
Since
1996, Israel has been led by young leaders who were born into the state of
"choseness". Whilst in their earlier years, they were imbued with an
intense
traditional Jewish anxiety, as they grew up this was overtaken by the
legacy of
the 1967 "miracle", an event that turned some of the "chosen" ideologies
into a
messianic mission . This fixation with absolute power exacerbated by
Jewish
anxiety coupled with ignorance of the 'other' leads to epidemic
schizophrenia,
both of mood and action; a severe loss of contact with reality that gives
way
to the use of excessive force. Israel retaliates with machine guns in
response
to children throwing stones, with artillery and missiles against civilian
targets following a sporadic uprising and so on. This typical Israeli
violence is
a direct result of the complete ignorance by the 'chosen' of the Other's
basic rights. This behaviour should not be explained by using political or
sociological analytical tools. Much greater understanding could be gained
by
situating the conflict within a philosophical framework which allows a
better
understanding of the origins of paranoia and schizophrenia.
The Israeli Prime Minister, representing both 'David and Goliath', can
talk
about the vulnerability of Israel, Jewish pain and Jewish misery in one
breath
and about launching a massive military offensive against the whole region
in
the next. Such behaviour can only be explained by a form of mental
illness. The
funny/sad side of it is that most Israelis do not even realise that
something
is going terribly wrong. Being a born master leads to the absence of a
'recognition mechanism'. This lack of a recognition mechanism results in a
split
psyche, being both 'David and Goliath' at one and the same time. It seems
that
neither Israel nor Israelis can any longer be a partner in meaningful
dialogue.

killed by her captors, her family and diplomats said on Tuesday after a video
tape surfaced apparently showing a hooded gunman shooting her in the head.
Diplomats said the video, sent to Arabic news channel Al Jazeera, appeared to
show the killing of Margaret Hassan, Iraq country director for aid organization
Care International, who was seized in Baghdad last month. If confirmed, the
murder of Dublin-born Hassan would be the first killing of a foreign woman
taken hostage by militants in Iraq.
