Jewish Front Group Urges EU to Monitor 'Hate' TV
The EU should set up a watchdog to monitor Arabic-language television stations broadcasting in Europe to prevent the dissemination of hate messages, a Jewish-funded Brussels-based think-tank said. The Transatlantic Institute, funded by the American Jewish Committee, said Middle East-based satellite stations were broadcasting anti-Western programmes that dismiss women, threaten Jews and advocate violence to further radical Islam. Former FBI Director Louis J. Freeh slammed the 9/11 Commission Thursday saying it ignored -- or "summarily rejected" -- the most critical piece of intelligence that could have prevented the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001.
Writing in the Wall Street Journal's opinion page, Freeh gave a blistering review of the Commission and says new revelations indicate it is "a good time for the country to make some assessments of the 9/11 Commission itself."
The former Bureau Director, who resigned his position just months before Sept. 11, 2001, points out that the U.S. government had learned of the identity of Mohammed Atta the year prior to the attacks. Atta was one of the ringleaders of the group, and piloted an American Airlines plane that slammed into one of the Twin Towers.
Freeh recounts that military intelligence operation code-named "Able Danger" concluded in February 2000 that military experts had identified Atta as an al-Qaida agent operating in the U.S.
"Subsequently, military officers assigned to Able Danger were prevented from sharing this critical information with FBI agents," Freeh writes. "Why?" he ponders, suggesting the failure to share such intelligence may be a smoking gun pointing at federal malfeasance in the case.
Freeh maintains that the Able Danger intelligence, if confirmed, is "undoubtedly the most relevant fact of the entire post-9/11 inquiry . . . Yet the 9/11 Commission inexplicably concluded that it "was not historically significant."
Two members of the House, Curt Weldon (R-Pa.) and Dan Burton (R-Ind.), have reported that shortly after the 9/11 attacks they provided then-Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley with a "chart" displaying pre-attack information about al-Qaida that had been collected by Able Danger.
But a spokesperson for the White House said that "a search of National Security Council files had failed to produce such a chart."
The final 9/11 Commission report, released on July 22, 2004, concluded that "American intelligence agencies were unaware of Mr. Atta until the day of the attacks."
Writes Freeh: "This now looks to be embarrassingly wrong."

Best intentions weren't enough to make a home
Hurricane Katrina survivors and their Montevideo hosts parted ways after disagreements.
In the devastation after Hurricane Katrina, this Minnesota story appeared to epitomize how disasters bring out the best in people.
Stunned by the evacuees' desperation, a white Montevideo family of five opened its hearts and home to an impoverished, three-generation black family of eight from Louisiana.
The Singleton family -- a mother, grandmother and six children who had never left the South -- arrived in September to a red-carpet welcome in the western Minnesota city of 5,300 residents. But the best of intentions weren't enough to bridge differences in background and the strain of having 13 under one roof.
Barely a month after arriving in Montevideo, Nicole and Dorothy (Dot) Singleton, the mother and grandmother of the Louisiana family, broke ties with their hosts, Tracey and Tanya Thornbury, and moved to the Twin Cities.
The parting was painful and sometimes ugly.
The Thornburys called the Montevideo police to their home. When it was time to take the kids out of the Thornbury home and to the Twin Cities, Dot Singleton asked Chippewa County Family Services to assist.
Each family still feels bruised, though calm has come with time and distance. At this point, the families talk by phone and hope they can forge a new relationship despite the disastrous end to their old one.
"We still love each other. You can have a family feud and still love each other," said Tracey Thornbury, 38, a trucker who still calls the Singleton kids frequently from the road.
Dot Singleton, 52, the children's grandmother, said she holds no grudges. "I have nothing against the Thornburys," she said. "They've done a lot for us. They brought us out of poverty. But it was two different cultures. We just didn't click."
From different worlds
No agency tracks how many families have privately sheltered Hurricane Katrina victims. It's unclear how many other offers like the Thornburys' have unraveled.
But as altruism abounded in the weeks after the storm, it was clear that caring for storm victims would be challenging, especially when aid was far from New Orleans and from people very different than those they assisted.
The families had connected after Tanya Thornbury, 36, e-mailed a Louisiana shelter offering to take in a displaced mother and child. Nicole, 33, the children's mother, contacted her by phone. The Thornburys, a same-sex couple, agreed to take the entire family of eight.
Tracey Thornbury, who drove to Baton Rouge to pick up Dot and the children in early September, saw immediately that her family and the Singletons came from different worlds.
As Tracey drove a donated RV north, she discovered that the Singletons had never been outside Louisiana. At one point, Esaw Singleton, 11, asked about the furry creature in a field they just passed.
It was a cow.
As they clambered out of the RV in front of their Montevideo home, the wide-eyed Singleton kids took in the mayor and other city officials, there to greet them with balloons and toys.
What really impressed them was the quiet. They could safely go outside to play -- unlike their old New Orleans neighborhood.
Calm, then tension
In the first few weeks, the newness of the situation and the excitement of having the town rally around them helped things run smoothly. Donations of clothes, toys, furniture and money arrived every day for a time.
At night, Ryan Thornbury, 12, and Esaw Singleton, 11, would sneak out of bed and gleefully play video games.
But goodwill gave way to tension.
About a week after the Singleton kids arrived, there was a dispute over Tanya's computer.
Having given up her office so Dot could have a bedroom, Tanya had tucked her desktop away in the laundry room so she'd have space of her own to cruise eBay, the online auction site.
After finding that the area didn't have radio stations playing the hip hop and rap that they liked, Nicole and Helen wanted to download music from the Internet. Tanya said no, partly to protect the computer from viruses and partly to preserve a teeny area of private space. Nicole and Helen didn't understand.
In the crowded house, which has five bedrooms but limited space in the living room and dining room, tensions built.
There were charges that the Singletons weren't doing their fair share of the chores. There were differences over what types of movies the kids could watch.
Then there were letters from Nicole's boyfriend, in jail for felony burglary in Louisiana. The Thornburys worried that the boyfriend would get out on parole and come to Montevideo, so they read the letters.
On Oct. 5, Nicole left for the Twin Cities, taking some of the donated money with her.
She is living at a Roseville motel and working as a housekeeper at another area hotel. She did not return phone messages seeking an interview.
Dot stayed behind with the kids. The Thornburys grew concerned about her, too, and believed she was drinking a lot of whiskey every night.
Things came to a head on Oct. 16 when Montevideo police were called in to check out a domestic situation.
On that night, Tracey and Dot acknowledge, Dot had been drinking. The women got into an argument about the donated money. Tracey took offense, feeling that Dot was implying that the Thornburys weren't sharing the money.
The women said that they yelled at each other and that Dot encouraged 16-year-old Brittany to begin hitting Tracey.
After getting Brittany under control, Tracey angrily searched Dot's room. She found an odd-shaped cigarette, thought it was marijuana and called police, who determined it was a regular cigarette.
Dot acknowledges that she did start drinking again in the Thornburys' home.
The domestic violence that happened also was the result of strain, she said. "It just had got to that point. And the Devil, he just got in there between everybody with a match and set things off."
Moving to the Cities
Shortly before Halloween, Nicole Singleton found a Twin Cities church offering a north Minneapolis house rent-free for a year to hurricane survivors.
Dot and the kids arrived in the Twin Cities on Oct. 28. Their new home has a large dining room and kitchen and a big yard. The kids, she said, are settling in and enrolled in Minneapolis public schools. The family plans to stay in Minnesota.
Dot said she misses Montevideo and appreciates how much the town did for her and the Thornburys. That few black people live in the area -- 23 in the entire county, according to the 2000 census -- had nothing to do with deciding to leave.
Dot said she has prayed a lot and has found peace about how their stay in Montevideo ended.
The Thornburys took in far more people than they originally intended, Dot said. It was a generous offer, but it simply couldn't work to have all those kids in one house and two different parenting styles.
In Montevideo, Tracey and Tanya Thornbury are still sorting through their emotions but hope to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Singletons.
They don't regret offering to help but said they wouldn't open their home in the same way.
"I'm not sure what God is thinking about at this point," Tracey said. "If it had any positive effect on the kids that they will remember at some point, that's a good thing. They'll know there are people who care."

Probably realizing how the mainstream media--best exemplified by Teen People's parent organization, Time-Warner--typically lies about any type of organization that is pro-white in an effort to generate publicity to itself, the Gaede-twins' parents had the foresight to ask that Teen People not engage in slander, in exchange for their cooperation. Typically, the media will use such key-words as "hatemonger," "Nazi," "racist," "supremacist," and "hate" in their articles to describe any organization that opposes Jewish supremacy, Zionism, or even Israel's Apartheid Wall. And April Gaede, the Gaede-twins' mother, did not want her children to be a victim of such smear-tactics.

Arms trade
The revelation that Mr. Wallace is intimately connected to the Washington-Bush military-industrial complex and whose employer develops weapons used in the Iraq war will come as an embarrassment for the so-called "socialists" in UAF, many of whose members are trade unionists, "peace protestors" and students who are also actively involved in the "Stop the War" campaign.
Ben Wallace was until recently the EU & Overseas Director for Qinetiq (pronounced kinetic) which is Europe?s largest military research and technology organisation and was formed out of what has been described as the "rushed" part-privatisation of the Ministry of Defence's military research arm, the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) in 2002.
Qinetiq researches and develops a wide range of military and security systems; armaments, guidance systems and computerised surveillance systems including equipment for US Humvees and Black Hawk helicopters, both of which are used in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of the equipment finds its way to unsavoury regimes across the world from the Middle East to Indonesia where military regimes and despotic rulers tyrannise and repress their own people.
Also embarrassing for the UAF leaders who advocate an open borders immigration policy is the revelation that Qinetiq has developed an impressive piece of kit which scans trucks disembarking from container ferries for unauthorised passengers, i.e. illegal immigrants.

Public trough
Shareholders and directors of Qinetiq have made a mint from the public trough. In the summer of 2005 it was announced that QinetiQ is to be floated on the stock market -- early estimates value the company at around --1bn. Carlyle Group and QinetiQ, executives are likely to make around $300m and $145m respectively from the sale of shares, which may have been undervalued at the first stage of privatisation.
Police attacked
In 1993 the Anti Nazi League, the violent extreme left wing mob from which UAF emerged held a protest outside what was then the BNP administration office and bookshop in Welling in north east Kent. The protest became a riot as police lost control of the situation with up to 50,000 protestors on the streets.
One police officer, PC Leslie Turner was dragged to the ground and severely beaten by an angry mob. Racist abuse was hurled upon the officer as he was repeatedly beaten and kicked. PC turner was targeted by the thugs simply because he was BLACK! He was called a "fascist", and a "Nazi". Only the swift response of his colleagues prevented the mob killing him as he lay unconscious on the ground. He suffered a fractured skull and was on a life support machine for several days.
These are the kind of people Ben Wallace is now associating with; street thugs and police beaters -- not very appropriate bedfellows for a man whose party supposedly champions law and order.
Observant readers may be aware that Leslie Turner has been in the news recently. Despite being a SAS trained Royal protection officer for several years Sergeant Turner was suddenly dropped from protecting the Duchess of Cornwall earlier this year and he is now pursuing a claim of race discrimination against his employers the Metropolitan Police.

In an interview for the Virtual Lancaster News website following his election success in May this year, the MP said that the BNP "should have the same rights as any Party in law".
He was asked "How do you respond to the challenge of far right parties such as the BNP in the area?"
He replied "If they are a legal Political Party then they have to have the same rights as any Party in Law. I would, however, always stand against them and we should ensure that the electorate see the hate behind their message they often spread."
He has clearly lied to his constituents about his true feelings for the BNP. He despises the BNP and fears for his own political career to the extent he is prepared to conduct subterfuge and work in a thoroughly undemocratic and potentially illegal manner to stop the advance of the BNP which is the only serious rival to the Conservative Party for the votes and support of hard working taxpayers in Lancaster and beyond.
The BNP will fight to ensure that we will have the "same rights" as every other party, the same rights that are given to the likes of Sinn Fein yet denied to us. Sinn Fein have bank accounts with High Street banks in Ireland and the UK, the BNP has been denied a UK bank account. Sinn Fein can get its newspapers printed without hindrance and disruption. Left wing militants have threatened British printing companies with violence and blackmail if they undertake work for the BNP. The full use of the law should be used to protect our rights and MPs including Mr. Wallace should be prepared to back the law in this regard instead of siding with the very same people who spend their time trying to stop the lawful activities of a registered political party.

Israel Upset as Russia's Chief Rabbi Holds Talks with Anti-Semitic Politicians
Russian Chief Rabbi Berl Lazar met this week with Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Dmitri Rogozin, the heads of two Russian nationalist parties that disseminate anti-Semitic propaganda, the Haaretz daily reported Thursday.
During the meeting, Lazar reportedly told Zhirinovsky and Rogozin that many Russian Jews who had immigrated to Israel were now returning, and that this year, more Russian Jews had left Israel than had moved to it.
Zhirinovsky, who serves as deputy speaker of the Russian parliament and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, expressed satisfaction with this, saying: “The Jews are talented people and it's good that they are returning because they can contribute to Russia's development.”
Both Zhirinovsky and other members of his party have frequently expressed anti-Semitic views. And Rogozin heads the Rodina (Motherland) Party, several of whose members signed a petition by 500 public figures urging that the Jews be expelled from Russia.
The petition also urged the Russian prosecution to ban dissemination of the Shulchan Aruch, a classic Jewish legal text, claiming that it incites to racism. The prosecution indeed began an investigation into the book, but then closed it under pressure from Israel and Jewish organizations.
Due to such incidents, Israel has long boycotted Zhirinovsky, Rogozin and their parties, so the meetings sparked outrage at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, which said that such encounters only served to boost the nationalist parties.
"Through these meetings, the chief rabbi confers legitimacy on people and parties known for clearly anti-Semitic positions," said one ministry official.
Following the meeting, a statement on the official Web site of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS, which Lazar heads, declared: "There is common ground. Both sides [the Jews and the nationalist anti-Semites] adopt patriotic positions."
Officially, the Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the meeting. "The rabbi holds no official Israeli government position, so he is not subordinate to the government's policy," said a ministry spokesman.
Off the record, however, ministry officials were furious.
"The rabbi's obsequious meetings with individuals tainted by blatant anti-Semitism and Russian nationalism arouses anger and disgust," said one.
"[The meetings] grant them legitimacy and undermine the Israeli government's policy of rejecting them and avoiding contact with them."
A spokesman for Lazar, who was in New York on Wednesday, said: "The Foreign Ministry forgets that the rabbi is committed to the well-being of Jews in Russia. The meetings were public and demonstrate the status of the Jews to all the supporters of these parties; moreover, the two leaders with whom he met undertook not to persist with their [anti-Semitic] declarations."

Although he is now a deputy speaker of the Russian parliament, many Russian voters see him as an entertainer, not a serious politician.
Anger targets
There are also signs that Russian anti-Semitism, which survived the transition from tsarist to Soviet rule, is now on the wane.
The chief rabbi of Russia's Federation of Jewish Communities, Berl Lazar, says it has become fashionable for people who formerly hid their Jewish roots to advertise them publicly.

Looking at a chart of the dollar is like looking at an EKG of a dying man.
From 1800 until 1935 the lines go up and down. A dollar bought a dollar's
worth of goods and services in 1800...in 1850...in 1900...and up until
about 1935. At that point, the line begins to fall. It does not rise
again. Instead, each and every year it loses purchasing power, so that by
2005 the 1800 dollar is only worth about 5 cents.
We are not ancient, but even we can recall a much stronger dollar. In the
autumn of 1972, we drove across the United States. We remember gasoline
stations advertising: 25 cents a gallon!
It seems so long ago...another world...a dream-world. It makes us long for

after the "Los Angeles Rebellion of 1992" that resulted in 57
people dead, over 2,700 injured, 10,548 arrested, over 3,600
fires, 1,129 buildings destroyed and an estimated $1.2 billion
dollars in damage, then Mayor Tom Bradley met with leaders
of the marginalized communities that exploded into riots. The
purpose of the L.A. mayor's meetings was to determine the
root causes that culminated in the utter devastation of many
L.A. neighborhoods.
Though the "spark" that started the riots was the shameful
acquittal of three white cops that savagely assaulted Black
motorist Rodney King by an all white jury, the primary causes
where deeply ingrained racism, hunger, homelessness, drastic
unemployment, lack of medical care and general economic
exploitation of both the Latino and Black communities. These
meetings with Mayor Bradley gave birth to a wonderful idea
which was to establish a 14 acre farm collective, on L.A. city
owned land, where families could grow their own food and
essential medicinal herbs. This would establish a sort of
economic self-sufficiency for one of L.A.'s the poorest
communities known as South Central Los Angeles.
[IMAGE] The farm collective has now been successfully
cultivated for 13 years by 347 families that operate the
farm collective as a "Mexican Ejido". Each family shares in
the cost of operating the collective and vote democratically
concerning its management. Most of the farmers are
immigrants from Mexico and Central America who have menial
jobs during the day but who work on the farm on evenings and
weekends. The farm collective is located on the southwest
corner of the 41st and Alameda intersection and is divided
into smaller plots for use by the 347 families. (See Google
Satellite Photograph below ). The farm collective provides
essential fruits and vegetables for families that would go
hungry if they could not cultivate their own food. The farm
collective also provides medicinal herbs for families that
have no medical insurance and can not pay for medical care.
This effective project which has provided economic
self-sufficiency for marginalized people of color is today threaten
by a greedy Jewish Mogul from the super-rich LA. community of
Brentwood. The City of Los Angeles, unbeknown to the families
that farm the collective, secretly sold the 14 acre parcel, from
underneath the families, to a well known land developer by the
name of Ralph Horowitz. Horowitz now wants and is demanding
through court proceedings that the families that farm the land be
evicted by the brutal Los Angeles County Sheriffs. "We have to
throw them off," said Horowitz, who runs his own real estate
investment company. "They're not going to walk off voluntarily.
They have to be thrown off by the sheriffs." he added. These
comments are no different than those made by the Jewish Interior
Minister Nicolas Sarkozy of France that added fuel to the fire there.
This may be a recipe for another major rebellion that may eclipse
the one in 1992. The Los Angeles city government and its city
council today, as is the Los Angeles School Board, take orders
from extremely wealthy Jews that reside in the west side of the city.
The "campesinos" and others who work the land are today
camping out on the farm collective in constant vigil against the
Los Angeles County Sheriffs who may attempt to forcefully evict
them any day now. They are committed to a program of
"civil disobedience" and are asking for the help of community groups
who are willing to join this struggle for self-determination. If you can
make it to 41st and Alameda Streets in LA , bring a blanket, a pillow
and and your ideas and join "la resistencia" at the "People's Urban
Farm" (Colectiva Campesina). There will be free food and water
from a Food Bank across the street.
The situation has made news all the way to Mexico City. Yesterday
the daily "La Jornada" published an extensive article on the imminent
forced eviction of "los campesinos" that has the potential of exploding
into new riots such as those occurring in France. The daily "El Universal"
published an article titled "Could riots such as in Paris occur elsewhere?"
in which Dr. Ana Maria Salazar writes, "Many of the factors that lead up
to the rioting in Europe are present in the growing Mexican communities
in the U.S., such as poverty, racism, unemployment, cultural and
language discrimination, and a growing frustration that their needs are
not being addressed. Unfortunately, the only way society listens to
these young desperate youth is when they resort to violence and
destruction."

BRUSSELS — EU lawmakers refused Tuesday to grant immunity from prosecution
to a French far right-wing deputy for remarks about the Nazi gas chambers,
in a case threatening to embarrass the EU assembly.
After four times delaying a vote on Bruno Gollnisch, number two in France's
extreme right National Front, the parliament's legal affairs committee voted
overwhelmingly not to give him protection as a member of the European
parliament (MEP) from court proceedings.
Gollnisch was charged over his comments at a press conference last year which
trod a fine line on the edge of French laws against calling into question crimes
against humanity.
The committee chairwoman, British MEP Diana
Wallis, said her panel felt that the
way Gollnisch had acted "was not fairly and fully and squarely within the member's
exercise of his duties as a member of this parliament."
"We are not in any way entering into a debate on the nature of the charge in
France or the nature of the law in France," she said.
Speaking in Lyon, France, in October 2004, Gollnisch said: "I do not deny the
existence of deadly gas chambers. But I'm not a specialist on this issue, and
I think we have to let the historians debate it."
He did not contest the "hundreds of thousands, the millions of deaths" during
the Holocaust, but added: "As to the way those people died, a debate should
take place."
Four days later, then French justice minister Dominique Perben, who is now
transport minister and intends to run against Gollnisch in 2007 municipal elections,
ordered police in Lyon to launch an inquiry.
They found he had no case to answer but Perben insisted charges be laid.
The trial of Gollnisch, who claims he is being persecuted by Perben, was scheduled
for September but was pushed back until November 29 so that parliament could
rule on his immunity.
The EU assembly will vote on the committee's recommendation in full session next
week. In the unlikely event that it votes against the committee's advice, the
case against Gollnisch would probably have to be dropped.

Holocaust survivor to be reunited with rescuers' family

Ruth Gruener removed a decades-old photo of her kindergarten class from between two plastic sheets, pointing to herself, a cherub with short brown hair in the top row, sixth from the left.
Three years after the black-and-white picture was taken at the private Jewish Day School in her native Lvov, a city in eastern Poland, the Nazis invaded and occupied the country, shooting and deporting to concentration camps as many Jews as they could find, starting with the children.Gruener's entire kindergarten class was wiped out. All of them, that is, except one.
"My story, it should probably be called `Destined To Live,'" Gruener, now in her early 70s, said late last week.
As painful as looking back at the Holocaust can be, Gruener rarely shrinks from recounting her survivor's story, particularly to children, "just so it shouldn't happen again."
Wednesday she will span the years with more than words and photos. She is to be reunited at Kennedy Airport with a daughter of the Christian family who sheltered her from the Nazis and their Ukrainian nationalist supporters for eight long, lonely and harrowing months of her childhood.
Gruener and Joanna Zalucka, who is in her 80s, will embrace for the first time since Gruener was 8 and Zalucka 18, a time when 1.5 million Jewish children were murdered outright by the Nazis or deported to concentration camps, where they died of illness or hunger.
Zalucka is traveling from her home in Wroclaw, Poland, as a guest of Manhattan-based Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, a charitable organization begun by a California rabbi in 1986 to sponsor one such reunion a year. It also supports 1,600 aging non-Jewish rescuers known as "righteous Gentiles" in 28 countries with stipends amounting to $1.3 million a year.
Zalucka will spend two weeks in the Brooklyn home Gruener shares with her husband, Jack, a survivor of 10 Nazi concentration camps.
What will Gruener say when the only surviving member of her rescuers' family arrives? "I don't know -- what can I say?" Gruener said.
But she soon returned to the question: "Only that I wish my parents and her parents could be here to share in the pleasure of seeing us together, that we survived that horror," she said.
Before the Nazi era, Zalucka's parents, the Szczygiels, were long-time customers of the sweet shop run by Gruener's parents, Barbara and Isaac Gamzer. Zalucka's mother, Irena, took a shine to the Jewish proprietors' daughter, who was called Luncia and changed her name to Ruth only after moving to the United States in 1949.
As Gruener tells it, the Szczygiels took a grave risk by sheltering her, punishable by death. She arrived at the house the day after her father snuck her past murderous guards and out of the Jewish ghetto under his overcoat late in 1941.
She said she cried for weeks, confined to the darkest corner of the three Szczygiel sisters' room so she wouldn't be detected by neighbors. She spent nights under a bed as Zalucka slept, stifling her moans, conversations with imaginery friends and her wimpering with a handkerchief wet from tears. Through it all, Zalucka bathed her guest, combed her hair and taught her to read and write.
But it became too heavy a secret for the Szczygiel family to bear.
Unable to move around for the months in hiding, Gruener said she had to learn again to walk before Irena Szczygiel, frightened by several close calls, escorted her by streetcar to the home where her parents were hidden by another Christian family.
The Gamzers rode out the occupation together, avoiding the fate of scores of their relatives killed by the Germans. Eventually the family moved to the United States and opened a candy shop at Avenue U and East 23rd Street in Brooklyn.
Gruener and her husband, Jack, whom she met later in New York, started an interior decorating business, raised two sons and have four grandchildren.
"The world is so beautiful, and I'd so much like to live," Gruener remembers blurting out upon seeing her father, and the outdoors, for the first time after she went into hiding with the Szczygiels for eight months.
To that her father replied: "You will, kitten, you will."

Rabbis from Britain's Jewish community have become the first mainstream
religious grouping to authorise a gay marriage service. Liberal Judaism,
which counts Tory Party leader Michael Howard and TV mogul Michael Grade
among its adherents, has produced a new liturgy, Covenant of Love, to
coincide with the Civil Partnership Act, which takes effect on December 5.
In accompanying literature, Liberal Judaism says the ceremony may be
described as a "wedding" by rabbis and follows the format of a traditional
Jewish wedding service under the chuppah or canopy and with the ceremonial
breaking of glass symbolising the brokenness of the world. It also includes
a same-sex version of the seven blessings said at heterosexual Jewish
weddings.
The service, in a booklet read from right to left and printed in Hebrew and
English, invokes God as the "divine presence" who embraces both male and
female. It warns the happy couple as they begin their new lives as
consecrated partners: "We remember that we live in a world as yet
unredeemed, where joys and sorrows, love and hatred, acceptance and
prejudice are commingled."
There are 33 Liberal congregations in the UK, and the community numbers
about 12,000. Of the 31 rabbis who belong to the movement's Rabbinic
Conference, four are lesbian and two are homosexual. The flagship Liberal
Jewish Synagogue in St John's Wood, North London, is one of the best-known
synagogues in the world.
Rabbi Alexandra Wright, senior rabbi at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, said
she would be offering the new liturgy to anyone who asked for a homosexual
wedding. "It is consistent with the religious and ethical principles to
which Liberal Judaism adheres, namely that each individual is created in the
divine image and that, regardless of sexuality or gender, all are equal. It
would be unethical for us to discriminate against members on grounds of
sexuality."
Rabbi Roderick Young, a member of both the Reform and Liberal movements,
this year went to Canada, where homosexual weddings are legal, to marry his
partner David Mooney. He said: "I applaud the Liberal movement for doing
this. It is fantastic."
Rabbi Danny Rich, chief executive of Liberal Judaism, said: "We are not
worried it will be controversial although we expect it may be. It is a

British Paper Gagged Over Aljazeera Memo
Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper has been ordered to cease publishing further details from an allegedly top secret memo revealing that US President George Bush wanted to bomb Aljazeera. The gag order from Attorney-General Lord Goldsmith came nearly 24 hours after the paper published details of what it said was a transcript of talks between Bush and the British Prime Minister Tony Blair. In those talks, which took place during the prime minister's April 2004 visit to Washington, Blair is said to have talked Bush out of launching "military action" on the television channel's headquarters in Doha, Qatar. "No 10 did nothing to stop us publishing our front page exclusive yesterday (Tuesday)," the Daily Mirror said on Wednesday, referring to the British prime minister's office. High level security talks have been held between Trinidadian Prime Minister Patrick Manning

Prime Minister Manning who was on a visit to Israel is looking for that country's help in finding
more ways of protecting the Trinidad and Tobago borders from drug and gun trafficking,
which Prime Minister Manning says is one of the main causes of crime in Trinidad and Tobago.
The visit to Israel follows ongoing discussions and the purchase from that country of a 360-
degree radar system to monitor Trinidad and Tobago's coastal waters.
High-speed interceptor boats, armed helicopters, closed-circuit TV cameras on some streets
along with a reorganized police service and support from the army and coast guard are all
part of a massive security plan the government's hopes to put in place to fight crime.

A draft immigration bill from Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter calls for dramatic increases in legal immigration, far beyond any of the other major proposals now before Congress.
Immigration and border security have become the hottest issues in Washington, with senators and members of Congress filing bill after bill to address them. The Senate is preparing for a major debate early next year on an overhaul, including creating a new flow of foreign workers like that contained in the bill by Mr. Specter, Pennsylvania Republican.
The House, meanwhile, is pushing toward a vote this year specifically on border and immigration enforcement.
"What we want to do is go home saying we've taken a first step, and it's not just at the hearing level, and we've voted on something," said Rep. Jack Kingston, Georgia Republican and vice chairman of the House Republican Conference.
The two approaches underscore the difficulty Congress will have in putting together a bill for President Bush to sign, especially when, Mr. Kingston said, the politics of immigration have now joined "race, guns, school prayer, religion and Social Security" as the most volatile issues of American politics.
As chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Mr. Specter might be able to control flow of the debate in the Senate with his bill. His measure combines provisions from several of his colleagues' bills, including requiring illegal aliens to return home, but only for a short period of time before being let back into the United States on a path to citizenship.
His biggest addition, though, is the increase in green card totals, or legal immigration.
A review by NumbersUSA, which advocates lower immigration levels, found that the level of legal, permanent immigration could double from its current level of more than 900,000 in fiscal 2004.
Rosemary Jenks, the group's director of government affairs, said Mr. Specter increases the cap on family-preference immigrants by 254,000 a year, raises the cap on employment-based visas by 150,000 a year, "recaptures" unused visas and exempts hundreds of thousands of family members from caps as well.
"My best estimate is more than doubled, so another million a year," she said.
A brief analysis by Michael M. Hethmon, a lawyer at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, also showed big increases.
"In terms of mass immigration, they decided the 'something-for-everybody' approach would work," he said.
Mr. Specter's goal in putting out a bill was to jump-start the argument and assert his committee's jurisdiction over the issue. In a letter accompanying his draft, he said he does "not necessarily endorse every provision included."
In the House, meanwhile, dozens of bills have been filed targeting the current flow of illegal aliens. The House also seems more willing to take up the thorny issue of targeting employers who hire illegal aliens.
Mr. Kingston said farmers in his district are torn because they don't want to hire illegal aliens but they feel they have to in order to compete with other farmers who hire them.
"If people can escape from a maximum security prison, they darn sure can get into the U.S.A.," Mr. Kingston said. "The question is why are they getting in. They're getting in because they want a job, and what you have to do is dry up that source."
The House Homeland Security Committee has approved a bill that would boost personnel and end "catch-and-release," the policy of allowing non-Mexican illegal aliens to go free in the hope they return for a deportation hearing. The bill also expands expedited removal, which should reduce the time needed to send those aliens home.
Among the other House measures introduced are bills to end birthright citizenship, which grants children of illegal aliens automatic citizenship; to build a barrier system along the border -- either with a fence, or technology, or a combination of the two; to allow local law enforcement to detain illegal aliens for immigration violations and force federal authorities to pick up the aliens; and to increase penalties for employers who hire illegal aliens.

If "important" women who work in corporate offices panic when they encounter insects, are they really qualified to run America? To hold reigns of power? After all, if they can't control their emotions when faced with lowly invertebrates, how will they be able to function during a real emergency - like if, say, a gal's company is required by a court order to hire more White males? (Now there's a crisis. A whole box of tissues - and a Jewish psychiatrist - couldn't make that problem go away).
The existence of powerful female bosses in America is like a joke and we men are waiting for a punchline which never arrives. (Of course, that existence shouldn't be too surprising - after all, most men are now pussy-whupped. They obediently take orders from their women, because if they don't, they know that they will have trouble getting that important nooky-nook).
Here's the point: part of White males' regaining control of American culture involves taking it back from the people who don't deserve to be in control anyway, who cry during deodorant commercials, who embrace racial diversity, who always compromise in their decisions (leaving all parties unfulfilled) and who take everything personally. Women are no more qualified to run the West than Jews are. The West was built by White males, and only they can run it properly. Wearing pants and carrying briefcases doesn't make women qualified to run America. Nearly anyone can form thoughtful-sounding sentences when the need arises. Women are verbally gifted in the Darwinian sense. This makes them seem more capable than they really are. That doesn't mean that there are no smart women around, it simply means that chicks seem more important than their actual skills allow - sort of like negroes wearing human clothes but not quite as bad.

Irving stays in jail on Holocaust charges
British historian David Irving, known for his controversial views on World War Two, must stay in custody in Vienna while he is charged with denying the Holocaust, a court ruled on Friday.
Vienna's state prosecutor this week charged Irving with denying the Holocaust in two lectures he gave in 1989. Denying the Holocaust is illegal under Austria's law prohibiting the Nazi Party. It carries a sentence of one to 10 years in prison.
"His lawyer filed for his release from custody and offered bail," said a spokesman for the Vienna criminal court.
"The judge dismissed his motion, ruling that there was a risk of escape and risk of committing the act (of denying the Holocaust)."
Irving has three days to appeal against the ruling. The court will reconsider whether he has to stay in prison every month. The next scheduled court ruling is on December 27.
Irving was arrested two weeks ago -- under a warrant issued in 1989 -- after visiting Vienna to speak at a meeting of a far-right student fraternity called Olympia, he told Austrian weekly magazine News.
When driving to the meeting in Vienna, one of the students noticed plainclothes detectives waiting near the fraternity's house, he said. Irving changed plans and drove to Graz in the southern province of Styria to visit one of his publishers.
Police stopped him on the motorway and detained him.
Irving has two weeks to object to the charge. The court proceedings could start next year, the court spokesman said.
A British High Court ruling in 2000 rejecting Irving's libel action against an American professor and her publishers who had declared Irving "an active Holocaust denier ... anti-Semitic and racist."

A confidential Foreign Office document accuses Israel of rushing to annex the Arab area of Jerusalem, using illegal Jewish settlement construction and the vast West Bank barrier, in a move to prevent it becoming a Palestinian capital.
In an unusually frank insight into British assessments of Israeli intentions, the document says that Ariel Sharon's government is jeopardising the prospect of a peace agreement by trying to put the future of Arab East Jerusalem beyond negotiation and risks driving Palestinians living in the city into radical groups. The document, obtained by the Guardian, was presented to an EU council of ministers meeting chaired by the foreign secretary, Jack Straw, on Monday with recommendations to counter the Israeli policy, including recognition of Palestinian political activities in East Jerusalem.
But the council put the issue on hold until next month under pressure from Italy, according to sources, which Israel considers its most reliable EU ally.
Israel has described a recommendation for moving EU meetings with the Palestinian Authority from Ramallah to East Jerusalem in recognition of the Arab claim as "negative occurrence". It claims the eastern part of Jerusalem it occupied in the 1967 war is part of its "indivisible capital". Almost all governments maintain embassies in Tel Aviv because they do not recognise the Israeli claim.
The document, drawn up by the British consulate in East Jerusalem as part of the UK's presidency of the EU, says Israeli policies are designed to prevent Jerusalem from becoming a Palestinian capital, particularly settlement expansion in and around the city. It says Mr Sharon's plan to link Jerusalem with the large Ma'ale Adumim settlement in the West Bank by building thousands of new homes "threatens to complete the encircling of the city by Jewish settlements, dividing the West Bank into two separate geographical areas".
It adds: "Israeli activities in Jerusalem are in violation of both its Roadmap (peace plan) obligations and international law."
The Foreign Office also concludes that the vast concrete barrier, which Israel asserts is a security measure, is being used to expropriate Arab land in and around the city. "This de facto annexation of Palestinian land will be irreversible without very large-scale forced evacuations of settlers and the re-routing of the barrier."
The document says stringent Israeli controls on the movement of Palestinians in and out of the city are an attempt to restrict Arab population growth. "When the barrier is completed, Israel will control all access to East Jerusalem, cutting off its Palestinian satellite cities of Bethlehem and Ramallah, and the West Bank beyond. This will have serious ... consequences for the Palestinians," it says.
"Israel's main motivation is almost certainly demographic ... the Jerusalem master plan has an explicit goal to keep the proportion of Palestinian Jerusalemites at no more than 30% of the total." All of this, the document says, greatly reduces the prospects of a two-state solution because a core demand of the Palestinians is for sovereignty over the east of the city.
"Palestinians are deeply alarmed about East Jerusalem," the document says. "They fear that Israel will 'get away with it', under the cover of disengagement. Israeli measures also risk radicalising the hitherto relatively quiescent Palestinian population of East Jerusalem."
The Israeli foreign ministry spokesman, Mark Regev, said: "Israel believes that Jerusalem should remain the united capital of Israel. At the same time Israel has committed itself that Jerusalem is one of those final status issues."
