Walter Mueller (see "Undaunted by history," Feb. 24) is the type of man that should be considered a threat to America. He, like Saddam Hussein, should be given a "playing card" surname or pursued by the U.S. military like Osama bin Laden. What most people don't realize is that this coward is a terrorist. His fictional claims and unfounded beliefs published in his little tabloid act as propaganda for hate. His freedom of speech infringes on the human rights of a group of people and a way of life. A direct parallel can be drawn between Mueller and suicide bombers - both willing to sacrifice personal and moral character based solely on hateful intolerance and personal fear.

Concerning your buddy Amendt's attempted character assassination of Herr Mahler and his correct delimitation of the Jews as satanic, the question is, despite how THEY beat their breasts and say "Lord, Lord," is their Yahweh really a manifestation of their own Self-Will as racially "chosen" ones? Yes, he is! This is why Christ Jesus directly called them "Children of Satan" (and why they killed Him).

True Philosophy accurately teaches that Self-Will is the essence of Evil--it is therefore Satan and nothing less that resides in the hearts of the Jews, as long as they persist in their perverse claim to racial superiority and lyingly call it religion. If Amendt doesn't like this, he can argue with the great Hegel, not with humble Herr Mahler! He will get the headache of his life but his soul will be the better for it.

Alex---I'm a big fan of your website, VNN. I always think that you are on the right side of every issue. I think your description of the Jews and their influence on our society is absolutely correct. I say this as a Christian because we are commanded by our Lord, Jesus, to be on the watch, permamently for his return, and also to love the good and hate the evil. That is why VNN is a spiritual, and I think, Christian website. Your website is a warning to all peoples, whites, Christians, of the evil the Jews represent in the world today. Jesus told his apostles that even if someone heals other peoples in Christs name, even if that person is not a christian, even if that person is a heathen, Jesus will recognize the good of that person. VNN, and you, Alex Linder, are healing others of the spiritual disease with which the Jews are infecting us. In an odd way, this healing, this racial healing, makes you and your website, very Christian.

And now for the worlds best review of Passion and a little enlightenment or something missing as usual from other reviews. Forget all the other bullshit including VNN.

VNN ends their review with "the jews murdered jesus" ( duhhh) getting the gist Gibson was trying to display since afterall who else but Gibson would be more qualified to know who the jews really are having been their main man in Hollywood the past decade and making them billions while making him millions.

While Gibson is not a jew he is as close to a jew as jew can get and closer than 99% of jews themselves being in on the big picture of who they really are.

The same thing can be said about the jesus guy who also 50% jew raised a jew and broke away to become an ex-jew so he knew everything about the jews even predicting they would kill him.

No question this guy was begging the jews to kill him though constantly degrading them and making them evil murderers knowing their dark shady past and knowing their love of the root of all evil. In the end he got what he was asking for.

To play devils advocate though its really far fetched to blame jews 2000 years later for what their ancestors did to a simple peasant guy who was some sort of folk hero and created a new religion that broke away from judaism.

Can jews today be responsible for what their ancient ancestors did even if it was all real? Is it really fair to blame kikes in 2004 AD for some deed bad deed done in 32 AD by their own kind and even this is questionable since todays jews mostly have Caucasian traits and features nothing like the ancient jews who looked more like their Arab blood brothers and even passed as Arabs as Joseph and Moses did in Egypt in the Pharoahs palace?

And to get more technical it was only a small group of jews who voted to have the Romans kill him in Jerusalem and mainly a perverted weird bunch owho hung around getting their kicks off watching executions.

Wouldnt most of the regular jews in a city of probably 300,000 in ancient times of Jerusalem been at home taking care of raising families or other deeds and not sicko pervs who loved watching crucifictions?

In addition the jew religious leaders could have had a hand in hand picking a group to vote to kill off jesus knowing these people would do what they wanted.

When speaking of the jews calling them vipers, murderers, liars etc wasnt jesus really referring to the elitist leaders who were rich and help all the power anyway? He did not refer to the jew masses as being the guilty ones but their leaders.

Also 2000 years ago Israel stretched 90 miles long and 30 miles wide with probably 2-3 million total jews in many small villages and remote communities so in essense less than 1% on jews in Israel even knew what was going on since all this took place in a short 24 hour period from his arrest to execution and entombment. Also out of 300,000 population of Jerusalem only a fraction was aware of of this and completely uninvolved although knowing they couldnt refute anything their elitist ruthless religious leaders said or did anyway risking death themselves if they did.

Bottomline playing devils advocate blaming all jews for the actions of a tiny elite handpicked voting mob who were controlled by the powerful evil jew religious Pharisees or Saducees who had to even bow to their leader, is a stretch.

In the end Gibsons movie will fade out but Mel will be pocketing 500 million or more as it will become the best selling film of alltime while the real jew problems are ignored of today.

The real reason the elite jew lords of today are so pissed off has nothing to do with their anti-semitism bullshit spin or anything else they diver too but the fact that they of all people have been outjewed and will miss out on their cut of the loot that could even eventually hit a trillions bucks once the whole world see it 50 times making other jew productions like Gone With The Wind, Jaws, etc pale in comparison.

$26,556,573 Ash Wednesday Bonanza for "Passion"

We are living in times of extreme social and religious polarities! While hundreds of sodomites are making a mockery of marriage on the San Francisco city hall steps, hundreds of thousands of families crowded in over 3,000 theaters nationwide to see "The Passion of the Christ" yesterday. This makes "The Passion" the third largest single-day grossing film of all times. This is extraordinary considering the hurdles Mel Gibson had to transgress to bring the film to the screen.

Our publisher, Hector Carreon, wrote an article on January 16, 2003 titled "Mel Gibson's Film on Jesus Christ: "buono per l'anima, non buono per il portafoglio" referring to a Gibson statement during an interview in Matera, Italy. The Italian phrase means "good for the soul, not good for the wallet". What a pleasant surprise this first day grossing must be for the Director-Actor.

Hopefully Mr. Gibson can make more films of this genre. A sequel on the extreme hardships experienced by the disciples soon after the "Resurrection" would be extremely interesting.

I've recently begun reading up on all the myths, legends, and music of my People (such as Tristan und Isolde, and Der Ring des Nibelungen) No, I don't believe these myths are real, but they are part of my heritage, so they have a special significance to me; they're in my blood, so to speak (kind of the way the Bible has special significance to a Jew). I just wanted to bring a new show to the attention of White America. On Wensday the 25 a show called T.V's Illest Minorty Moments will be reairing, despite the protest of many. I recomend you watch the show an see the anti-white propaganda. The show actually used phrases like 'kill whitey' and 'cracker' throughout the 1 hour show. The worst part was when they spoke of a show called 'Slappy Days' where white people would get slapped by black people, because they thought it would be funny. When I asked VH1 why they showed this show they answered with 'it was just a joke.' Sorry It has been so long since I last wrote in to the worlds greatest Internet site. I've been busy, unfortunately. But I have continued stopping in to read articles and letters whenever I can steal (yikes, I must be a kike) time. BUT, I just had to write in and compliment Constantin Von Hoffmeister for his great review. I have not seen the movie yet and will only go, with no interest or enthusiasm, just to fuck the jews. I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do than experience this years phony sensation. These bizarre matings of voyeuristic cost-free religiosity, self-pity and Sunday school pageants makes me barf. Like the 9/11 bullshit - 'oh isn't it sad...we poor wonderful Americans, ah...Christians.' Look how he suffered and in juicy close ups too - where is the popcorn?' Yeah, it will bring back people's 'faith' - in a stinking multiplex until its 15 minutes of fame fades away to be replaced by the next low-brow thrill to come along on the talk show circuit. We are 'proud to be Americans' too, and 'we all came together', too, and boy, don't 'we support our troops! As long as it doesn't get in the way of shopping at the mall or watching the big fucking game on TV. More bullshit to keep the idiots content for the next half hour.

Indeed - the Romans as Hollywood Nazis. But, what else could a shit hole like Hollywood (I.E., kiked ex-America) come up with but grotesque sentimentality and cardboard heroes to match their cardboard villains? The debased rabble that used to be an electorate is incapable of differentiating shades of meaning after generations of dumbing down, and there is good ol' Hollywood to not only do most of the dumbing, but to reap the rewards of an idiot ticket buying public that is so much less discriminating than the old, discerning, educated pre-kiked one used to be.

I'm sure the movie totally sucks -- since most do and Mel Gibson is nothing but an actor -- virtually the lowest form of life, which is one reason jews tend to do so well that profession. His knowledge of and finesse with direction is risible. I've seen chunks of Braveheart - just enough to tell me that I have no interest in anything Mel Gibson does behind the camera.

But anyway, Thanks Herr Von Hoffmeister for saying it straight. Europe - I.E., human civilization -- is the marriage of Rome and Deutschland and every thing else can fuck itself.

What Goes Around . . .

I've been in India for only a few days and I am already thinking about reincarnation. In my next life, I want to be a demagogue.

Yes, I want to be able to huff and puff about complex issues - like outsourcing of jobs to India - without any reference to reality. Unfortunately, in this life, I'm stuck in the body of a reporter/columnist. So when I came to the 24/7 Customer call center in Bangalore to observe hundreds of Indian young people doing service jobs via long distance - answering the phones for U.S. firms, providing technical support for U.S. computer giants or selling credit cards for global banks - I was prepared to denounce the whole thing. "How can it be good for America to have all these Indians doing our white-collar jobs?" I asked 24/7's founder, S. Nagarajan.

Well, he answered patiently, "look around this office." All the computers are from Compaq. The basic software is from Microsoft. The phones are from Lucent. The air-conditioning is by Carrier, and even the bottled water is by Coke, because when it comes to drinking water in India, people want a trusted brand. On top of all this, says Mr. Nagarajan, 90 percent of the shares in 24/7 are owned by U.S. investors. This explains why, although the U.S. has lost some service jobs to India, total exports from U.S. companies to India have grown from $2.5 billion in 1990 to $4.1 billion in 2002. What goes around comes around, and also benefits Americans.

Consider one of the newest products to be outsourced to India: animation. Yes, a lot of your Saturday morning cartoons are drawn by Indian animators like JadooWorks, founded three years ago here in Bangalore. India, though, did not take these basic animation jobs from Americans. For 20 years they had been outsourced by U.S. movie companies, first to Japan and then to the Philippines, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The sophisticated, and more lucrative, preproduction, finishing and marketing of the animated films, though, always remained in America. Indian animation companies took the business away from the other Asians by proving to be more adept at both the hand-drawing of characters and the digital painting of each frame by computer - at a lower price.

Indian artists had two advantages, explained Ashish Kulkarni, C.O.O. of JadooWorks. "They spoke English, so they could take instruction from the American directors easily, and they were comfortable doing coloring digitally." India has an abundance of traditional artists, who were able to make the transition easily to computerized digital painting. Most of these artists are the children of Hindu temple sculptors and painters.

Explained Mr. Kulkarni: "We train them to transform their traditional skills to animation in a digital format." But to keep up their traditional Indian painting skills, JadooWorks has a room set aside - because the two skills reinforce each other. In short, thanks to globalization, a whole new generation of Indian traditional artists can keep up their craft rather than drive taxis to earn a living.

But here's where the story really gets interesting. JadooWorks has decided to produce its own animated epic about the childhood of Krishna. To write the script, though, it wanted the best storyteller it could find and outsourced the project to an Emmy Award-winning U.S. animation writer, Jeffrey Scott - for an Indian epic!

"We are also doing all the voices with American actors in Los Angeles," says Mr. Kulkarni. And the music is being written in London. JadooWorks also creates computer games for the global market but outsources all the design concepts to U.S. and British game designers. All the computers and animation software at JadooWorks have also been imported from America (H.P. and I.B.M.) or Canada, and half the staff walk around in American-branded clothing.

"It's unfair that you want all your products marketed globally," argues Mr. Kulkarni, "but you don't want any jobs to go."

He's right. Which is why we must design the right public policies to keep America competitive in an increasingly networked world, where every company - Indian or American - will seek to assemble the best skills from around the globe. And we must cushion those Americans hurt by the outsourcing of their jobs. But let's not be stupid and just start throwing up protectionist walls, in reaction to what seems to be happening on the surface. Because beneath the surface, what's going around is also coming around. Even an Indian cartoon company isn't just taking American jobs, it's also making them.

New Film May Harm Gibson's Career

OS ANGELES, Feb. 25 - Mel Gibson's provocative new film, "The Passion of the Christ," http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=290960 is making some of Hollywood's most prominent executives uncomfortable in ways that may damage Mr. Gibson's career.

Hollywood is a close-knit world, and friendships and social contact are critical in the making of deals and the casting of movies. Many of Hollywood's most prominent figures are also Jewish. So with a furor arising around the film, along with Mr. Gibson's reluctance to distance himself from his father, who calls the Holocaust mostly fiction, it is no surprise that Hollywood - Jewish and non-Jewish - has been talking about little else, at least when it's not talking about the Oscars.

Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, the principals of DreamWorks, have privately expressed anger over the film, said an executive close to the two men. The chairmen of two other major studios said they would avoid working with Mr. Gibson because of "The Passion of the Christ" and the star's remarks surrounding its release.

Neither of the chairmen would speak for attribution, but as one explained: "It doesn't matter what I say. It'll matter what I do. I will do something. I won't hire him. I won't support anything he's part of. Personally that's all I can do." No Christians. Just Right.

The chairman said he was angry not just because of what he had read about the film and its portrayal of Jews in relation to the death of Jesus, but because of Mr. Gibson's remarks defending his father, Hutton Gibson. Last week in a radio interview the elder Mr. Gibson repeated his contention that the Holocaust was "all - maybe not all fiction - but most of it is." Asked about his father's Holocaust denial in an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC, the movie star told her to "leave it alone."

The other studio chairman, whose family fled European anti-Semitism before the Holocaust, was less emphatic but said, "I think I can live without him." But others said there would be no lasting backlash against Mel Gibson. "If the movie works, I don't think it will hurt him," said John Lesher, an agent with Endeavor. "People here will work with the anti-Christ if he'll put butts in seats." Mr. Lesher added, "He put his own money where his mouth is. He invested in himself."

As Mr. Lesher implied, Hollywood is also a place of businesspeople, and Mr. Gibson is a proven movie star, popular with audiences. There are few actors with that kind of bankability, no matter their personal views. Mr. Gibson is also a capable director. So some of the initial reactions to his film may fade over time.

Mr. Gibson not only directed and helped write the $30 million film, but he also paid for it, including production and marketing costs, out of his own pocket, which Hollywood has filled.

As an actor and successful director, from "Mad Max" (1979) through "Lethal Weapon" (1987) and its sequels to the Oscar-winning "Braveheart" (1995), Mr. Gibson has long been a Hollywood pet. But he has also been known as a prankster and a self-confessed abuser of various substances. Many in the relentlessly secular movie industry see his recent religious conversion - he practices a traditionalist version of Roman Catholicism - as another form of addiction.

Last Friday the media billionaire Haim Saban, former owner of the Fox Family Channel, sent a concerned e-mail message to friends about Mr. Gibson and his father.

The message forwarded an article by the journalist Mitch Albom calling on Mr. Gibson to repudiate his father's denial of the Holocaust. Mr. Saban sent the article to, among others, Roger Ailes, who heads Fox News; Norman Pattiz, who runs the Westwood One radio network; and Michael R. Milken, the securities felon turned philanthropist.

Amid the daily dealings of Hollywood, the film and the star have been fodder for unfavorable gossip. Dustin Hoffman has talked to friends about what he called Mr. Gibson's "strangeness" during the ABC interview. The producer Mike Medavoy said Mr. Gibson's religious zealotry made him feel uncomfortable. Mr. Hoffman is Jewish; Mr. Medavoy is the child of Holocaust survivors.

"One question is, `What propelled him to make the movie about the passion of Christ?' " Mr. Medavoy said. "It makes me a little squeamish. What makes me squeamish about religion in general is that people think they have the answer: `I think my God is the right God.' How do you argue against that?"

But many non-Jews in Hollywood have also been unhappy about the religious divisions that the movie has exposed and could deepen. A public relations expert who usually works closely with Newmarket, which is distributing the film, said she declined to work on the film, though she is Roman Catholic. "This kind of thing tends to bring out the worst in people," she said, insisting that her name not be used.

The director David O. Russell, who described himself as areligious, said that although he had not seen the film, he was disturbed by the prospect that "The Passion" could feed anti-Semitism. "There are so many wonderfully provocative things about Jesus' life and death that challenge us to be better people," he said. "If it stirs anti-Semitism, then what a wasted opportunity."

Melisa Richter, a publicist who worked for one of the largest Christian movie production houses in the country, Cloud Ten Pictures, wrote in an e-mail message that the film "feeds into the culture of anti-Semitism that is out there, repeating it again and again in a popular format (the film medium), lacking vital historical context and background."

Several prominent people interviewed for this article said they were curious about the film but would not buy tickets to see it.

Still, some of Mr. Gibson's Jewish friends have been defending him and the movie. The producer Dean Devlin, who is Jewish, said, "It's a phenomenal movie about love and forgiveness, and I personally didn't find it anti-Semitic whatsoever."

Mr. Devlin said that he thought those in Hollywood who were angry would get over it. "I think it's a big issue today, as the movie is opening, but over time it will be seen as one of many beautiful renditions of the story," he said. "My hunch is this will pass, this film will be remembered as a beautiful film, and Mel will go back to making movies. That's my hope."

Alan Nierob, Mr. Gibson's publicist, is himself the child of Holocaust survivors. "I think Hollywood appreciates good art and will embrace the talent of a filmmaker," Mr. Nierob said. "I don't see a negative reaction."

Five Reasons Not to Go See The Passion of Christ

On February 25, 2004 Icon films, will be releasing Mel Gibson's much anticipated film The Passion of Christ. The date of the release was deliberately chosen to coincide with the Roman Catholic holy day of Ash Wednesday, and is indicative of the fact that for Gibson, his film was more of a work of devotion than a money-making enterprise. In an interview on the Roman Catholic Television Network EWTN, Gibson candidly stated why this movie is so different from all his others, "It reflects my beliefs--I've never done that before."(1) He is also quite open about his desire to see his movie used for worldwide evangelism. Many noted Evangelicals including James Dobson and Billy Graham have also come forward to endorse The Passion of Christ and recommend its use as a teaching tool. Currently, The Passion of Christ is riding a groundswell of nationwide support from both Evangelicals and Roman Catholics, with many well-known Evangelical congregations, such as best selling author and Pastor Rick Warren's Saddleback Church which purchased 18,000 tickets at seven theatres, doing everything they can to ensure that The Passion of Christ will be a smash hit amongst Christians and "seekers". Expressing a widely held view amongst the film's supporters, Lisa Wheeler, associate editor of Catholic Exchange, a Web portal dedicated to Catholic evangelism, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution "It's the best evangelization opportunity we've had since the actual death of Jesus."(2)

But should Evangelicals be supporting The Passion of Christ and endorsing its use as an Evangelism tool? Is this really the best evangelization opportunity we've had since the actual death of Jesus? After careful consideration my conclusion is an unequivocal "No." Here then are five reasons why I believe Evangelicals should not see or recommend the Passion of Christ.

1) Its Origins: Even though Evangelicals are promoting The Passion of Christ, it is not an Evangelical movie. As Mel Gibson, a devout Roman Catholic put it so well; "It reflects my beliefs." The Passion of Christ is a Roman Catholic movie, made by a Roman Catholic director, with Roman Catholic theological advisers, and which gained the endorsement of Pope John Paul II who said after viewing it "It is as it was."(4) This is in marked contrast to the Jesus film, which is unabashedly Protestant and Evangelical in its production and message and which has been widely used in evangelizing Roman Catholics. It is largely for this reason that the Jesus film has not been utilized or endorsed by Roman Catholics. By contrast, The Passion of Christ has already proven its effectiveness as an evangelism tool in producing Catholic conversions and encouraging Catholic devotion:

"In his first nationally broadcast interview about his starring role in Mel Gibson's much-anticipated film "The Passion of Christ," James Caviezel - Gibson's Jesus - detailed on Friday the ordeal of filming the Crucifixion scenes, noting that the overall experience prompted many in the crew to convert to Catholicism."

... "Noting "the amount of conversions on the movie," he said the experience of filming Christ's story "really changed people's lives." "Caviezel recalled telling Gibson, "I think it's very important that we have mass every day - at least I need that to play this guy." "I felt if I was going to play him I needed [the sacrament] in me. So [Gibson] provided that."(5)

2) Its Script: Although it is widely thought that the script for the movie is based entirely on the gospel according to John, this is not the case. The script for The Passion of Christ contains much extrabiblical material, and is based in part on a mystical Roman Catholic devotional work by an 18th century German Nun (Sister Anne Emmerich) entitled The Dolorous Passion of Christ. Gibson stated on EWTN that reading Emmerich's book was his primary inspiration for making the movie. By introducing extrabiblical elements, not only does The Passion of Christ change some of the theological emphases of the Biblical account of Christ's crucifixion, but it will also create a false impression amongst the very "seekers" that Evangelicals are trying to reach, that things were said and done at the crucifixion that did not actually happen. For Evangelicals, who would feel very uncomfortable with a version of the Bible that put words into the mouth of Christ that he never spoke, to endorse a movie that does the very same thing seems hopelessly inconsistent. Protestants traditionally rejected the Apocrypha precisely because these books were fabricated and contained inauthentic material, despite the fact that these books might have been useful for evangelism. For modern evangelicals to embrace a vehicle that is inauthentic in order to achieve evangelistic ends indicates a serious decline in faithfulness.

The script for The Passion of Christ not only adds things that didn't occur in the Bible, it cuts out other things that did. The most widely known example of this being the important declaration: "His blood be on us and on our children." (Matthew 27:25)

The script for The Passion of Christ was translated into Aramaic and Latin by Father William Fulco, an old friend of Mel Gibson's. This was not done for reasons of making it more authentic.(6) The language decisions in the Passion of Christ were made for theological reasons:

"It is crucial to realize that the images and language at the heart of "The Passion of the Christ" flow directly out of Gibson's personal dedication to Catholicism in one of its most traditional and mysterious forms - the 16th-century Latin Mass.

"I don't go to any other services," the director told the Eternal Word Television Network. "I go to the old Tridentine Rite. That's the way that I first saw it when I was a kid. So I think that that informs one's understanding of how to transcend language. Now, initially, I didn't understand the Latin. ... But I understood the meaning and the message and what they were doing. I understood it very fully and it was very moving and emotional and efficacious, if I may say so."

The goal of the movie is to shake modern audiences by brashly juxtaposing the "sacrifice of the cross with the sacrifice of the altar - which is the same thing," said Gibson. This ancient union of symbols and sounds has never lost its hold on him. There is, he stressed, "a lot of power in these dead languages."

Thus, the seemingly bizarre choice of Latin and Aramaic was actually part of the message."(7)

The script of The Passion of Christ was specifically intended to link the crucifixion of Christ with what Roman Catholics believe is the re-sacrificing of Christ that occurs in the mass. Gibson's intent is to show us that the sacrifice of the cross and the sacrifice of the altar (the mass) are the same thing. Protestant Evangelicals have historically rejected the idea that Christ can be sacrificed again and declared it "abominable." Speaking of the concept that the Crucifixion and the mass is the same thing, the Protestant Westminster Confession declares:

"In this sacrament, Christ is not offered up to his Father; nor any real sacrifice made at all, for remission of sins of the quick or dead; but only a commemoration of that one offering up of himself, by himself, upon the cross, once for all: and a spiritual oblation of all possible praise unto God, for the same: so that the popish sacrifice of the mass (as they call it) is most abominably injurious to Christ's one, only sacrifice, the alone propitiation for all the sins of his elect."(8)

3) Its Theology: Gibson's comment about the sacrifice of the altar and the sacrifice of the cross shows the indispensable link in this movie between the Catholic view of Christ's sacrifice and the portrayal of the Crucifixion in The Passion of Christ. The fact that Evangelicals have uncritically endorsed it speaks volumes about how far the Evangelical Protestant understanding of Christ's death and the related subject of Justification have slipped since the Reformation. In Roman Catholic theology the intense physical suffering of Christ's Crucifixion is the focus along with the emphasis on physical sacrifice. This is one of the reasons why in Roman Catholic iconography we have so much imagery related to Christ's physical pain and that crucifixes show him still suffering on the cross (the sacrifice of the mass means that Christ's declaration that his once for all sacrifice is completed "it is finished" (John 19:30) never actually comes, and that his suffering has to be constantly repeated). This emphasis on Christ's physical agony is repeated in Roman Catholic devotional material, prayers, and of course the Passion of Christ. The theology of the bible however points out to us that the grand importance of Christ's crucifixion lay not in his physical suffering, but in his once for all propitiation of God's wrath (1 John 4:10). Lest we forget, the greatest torment that Christ experienced on the cross was not caused by the nails driven into his flesh, but in his being made "sin for us" and vicariously suffering the righteous punishment of the Father in our place. Even the worst physical torments inflicted by the Sanhedrin and the Romans upon Jesus were nothing by comparison to the anguish of having the sins of all the elect imputed to Him and making full satisfaction for them. Satisfying the justice of the Romans on a cross was comparatively easy, thousands of condemned men and women including Spartacus and several of the Apostles did that, but only Christ could satisfy the justice of God.

Also central to the Christian Gospel, but missing from The Passion of Christ, is the concept of Christ's active obedience. Christ not only died for the sins of His sheep on the Cross but he established their righteousness through His perfect obedience to God's Law. It is only if His passive obedience in dying on the cross and His active obedience in keeping the law are imputed to believers per 2 Cor. 5:21 that believers will be justified before almighty God. The Passion of Christ does not even make any pretence of teaching the active obedience of Christ, the entire notion of which is alien to Roman Catholic theology. Therefore if Evangelicals intend to use this as a Gospel teaching tool, they must understand that at best they are teaching only half a gospel, and that the half they are teaching is defectively presented.

The sacrifice of Christ was a glorious event in which, in accordance with God's plan, full satisfaction for sin was procured by Christ on behalf of His people (Acts 2:43). The Passion of Christ leaves us with a vision of the sacrifice of Christ that is only dolorous (Dolorous: Full of grief; sad; sorrowful; doleful; dismal) and which puts into sharp relief the Roman Catholic notion not only of the importance of Christ's agony, but that of Mary in "offering her Son." In an interview with Zenit, the Roman Catholic News Service, Father Thomas Rosica, the priest who oversaw World Youth Day 2002 and its Way of the Cross through the streets of Toronto, illustrated how The Passion of Christ, in keeping with Roman Catholic theology, uses extrabiblical content to massively exaggerate the role of Mary:

"One scene, in particular, was very moving. As Jesus falls on the Way of the Cross, there is a flashback to his falling on a Jerusalem street as a child, and his mother running out of the house to pick him up. The interplay of Mary and Jesus in this film is moving, and reaches its apex in the scene of the Pietŕ.

The Mother of the Lord is inviting each of us to share her grief and behold her Son."(9)

This use of extra-biblical material, emphasis on physical suffering, exaggeration of the role of Mary, and explicitly Roman Catholic theology should not surprise us however as these are all hallmarks of the primary inspiration for this movie: The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Let me give two examples of what I mean especially as concerns the replacement of physical pain for the far greater agony of sin bearing:

"He will not stretch himself out, but we will help him;' they accompanied these words with the most fearful oaths and imprecations, and having fastened a rope to his right leg, dragged it violently until it reached the wood, and then tied it down as tightly as possible. The agony which Jesus suffered from this violent tension was indescribable; the words ‘My God, my God,' escaped his lips, and the executioners increased his pain by tying his chest and arms to the cross, lest the hands should be torn from the nails."(10)

... "The hour of our Lord was at last come; his death-struggle had commenced; a cold sweat overspread every limb. John stood at the foot of the Cross, and wiped the feet of Jesus with his scapular. Magdalen was crouched to the ground in a perfect frenzy of grief behind the Cross. The Blessed Virgin stood between Jesus and the good thief, supported by Salome and Mary of Cleophas, with her eyes riveted on the countenance of her dying Son. Jesus then said: 'It is consummated;' and, raising his head, cried out in a loud voice, ‘Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.' These words, which he uttered in a clear and thrilling tone, resounded through heaven and earth; and a moment after, he bowed down his head and gave up the ghost. I saw his soul, under the appearance of a bright meteor, penetrate the earth at the foot of the Cross. John and the holy women fell prostrate on the ground."(11)

Emmerich's book is literally filled with scenes like those above, and includes many extra-biblical sayings of Jesus which Sister Anne say she personally heard in her visions.

4) Its Medium: Many Evangelical Pastors are hailing movies like The Passion of Christ as part of a new and better way of spreading the Gospel:

"This is a window of opportunity we have. Here's a guy who's putting his money into a movie that has everything to do with what we do," said pastor Cory Engel of Harvest Springs Community Church in Great Falls, Mont.

"Churches used to communicate by having a little lecture time on Sunday morning. People don't interact that way anymore. Here's a chance for us to use a modern-day technique to communicate the truth of the Bible," the Rev. Engel said."(12)

It is indeed true that we live in a highly visual and increasingly anti-literate society that places a premium on sound bites and easily assimilated visual imagery, but does this mean that we should abandon preaching in favor of using movies or dramatic presentations? We need to remember that the last time dramatic presentations replaced preaching as the main vehicle by which the truth of the Bible was communicated was during the middle-ages when the church refused to allow the translation of the Bible into common languages and when in place of the preaching and teaching of God's word, the common people were given visual presentations such as Passion Plays, statues, relics, and icons. These things were designed, like most visual imagery, to play upon the emotions and stimulate a response; but the ability to evoke an emotional response via imagery or drama is not the same as successfully transmitting the Gospel. The means that God has ordained for the transmission of the Gospel, was neither drama, imagery, nor even "lectures" – it is preaching. Preaching involves the communication of the Gospel in a way that patiently convinces, rebukes, exhorts, and teaches (2 Timothy 4:2-4). The bible teaches us the awesome importance of preaching and why it cannot be replaced by another medium:

We must preach God's Word regardless of how unpopular it is because we are commanded to do so: "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

We must preach God's Word because it always accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." (Isa.55:9-11)

God does not command us to produce dramatic presentations of Gospel themes, He commands us to preach. Though this option was freely available to the Apostles as they brought the Gospel to cities with amphitheaters and a long tradition of using the dramatic arts to convey religious and moral themes to the populace they did not do so. The wisdom of the Apostolic methodology has been borne out by the fact that it was when the Gospel was being transmitted primarily by Plays and Symbolism that true Christianity began to sink under the weight of superstition. We are in danger of returning to precisely that state of affairs by reviving the teaching methodology of the medieval church. Even though it was produced in the 21st century, The Passion of Christ is identical in all critical aspects to the Passion Plays of the Roman Catholic Church in the Middle Ages.

5) Its Main Character: Billy Graham in his endorsement of The Passion of Christ said, "Every time I preach or speak about the Cross, the things I saw on the screen will be on my heart and mind."(13) This is unfortunately part of the problem with all visual representations of Jesus. Although we may intend for them only to have a role in teaching, they inevitably become part of our worship and adoration. As a result of seeing this film James Caviezel, the "Jesus" of The Passion of Christ, will become the figure countless thousands if not millions of people think of when they worship Jesus Christ. To do this is to fall into the trap of changing "the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man" (Romans 1:23) and to violate the Second Commandment.

Every visual representation of Jesus is inevitably a lie. There are two main reasons for this.

The first reason why all visual representations of Jesus are lies is because the only wise God went to great lengths not to leave us with any physical description of the physical appearance of His Son lest we fall into the sin of image making. Therefore all of our representations of Jesus are inevitably speculations usually based upon our own desires. We create an image of Jesus that says more about the Jesus we want than the Jesus whom God sent.

For instance, isn't it remarkable that the Jesus of The Passion of Christ, as in almost all physical representations of Christ, is tall, slim, and handsome? Why should not The Son of David (Luke 18:38) have been a relatively small man like his great ancestor? It never seems to have occurred to most image-makers that Jesus could be relatively short, or stout, or even have had a receding hairline. This is in spite of the fact that one of the few details the Bible does give us about Christ's appearance is that "He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him." (Is. 53:2b) The fact that we have any concept of what Jesus looks like and that Gibson's Jesus looks like the traditional Jesus, is a testament to the abiding impact of past iconography. While the Gospels, purposely leave out any description of Jesus that we might use to construct an idol, people have created an image of Jesus that has become almost an industry standard, and it is solely for that reason rather than any basis in fact that audiences would have been outraged had Gibson cast Danny DeVito and not James Caviezel in the leading role.

The Second reason why all visual representations of Jesus are lies is that they can never hope to represent the glory of Christ in His true nature. The best an image of Jesus can do is to represent him as a man, and while Jesus was truly a man, he was not merely a man. Jesus was also God, and no artist or filmmaker who has ever lived could hope to create an image that captures the true Glory of Jesus as God. While this may not appear to be a problem to us, the separation of Christ's manhood from his deity is actually a grave heresy called Nestorianism. We must not therefore attempt to separate what God has forever joined together.

For the first four centuries of its existence the church did not use pictures of Jesus as an aid to evangelism. This was despite the fact that they were bringing the gospel to highly visual cultures that had always used imagery to convey religious ideas. The initial movements towards making pictures of Christ were initially strongly opposed, and the practice was formally condemned by the church as late as 753 AD. Unfortunately, once they had taken hold of the public imagination, the practice of making visible representations of Christ proved difficult if not impossible to eradicate and gradually, pictures and dramatic representations of Jesus became quite commonplace in the church. At the time of the Reformation, Protestants overwhelmingly rejected the practice of making images of Jesus as a clear violation of the Second Commandment. They also rejected the notion that such images had a necessary role as "textbooks for the laity" and then proved that notion false by producing generations of other Protestants well versed in the word and familiar with their Savior although they had never once owned or seen a representation of him.

Rather than visual imagery, they relied on the preaching of the Word to save souls, and the gospel made great advances. If we return to the use of imagery and begin endorsing movies like The Passion of Christ, we will be returning to the very state of affairs the first Protestants struggled and died to reform. We must not think that merely endorsing one form of visible representation of Christ will not lead inevitably to others. For instance, it is impossible to make a coherent argument against the use of the crucifix in teaching the Gospel if we have already endorsed the use of a movie that portrays the crucifixion. Merely because one display is static and the other moving does not change their essential nature at all. The Passion of Christ is in essence, an animated Crucifix.

In closing, let me address a common objection, namely that we must use tools like The Passion of Christ in order to reach the lost and that if we don't we are "missing a great opportunity."

Are we really missing an opportunity though? If we are convinced that using a Roman Catholic movie to present the Gospel is in essence a violation of God's law, how could we possibly use it? Should we sin that grace may abound?

Also, are we really certain that this will be as effective as we think in saving souls? J. Marcellus Kik in his Pictures of Christ addressed that very question and gave us some wise advice, which I think all Christians would do well to heed:

"But can it not help in the saving of souls, it is asked. But how? Looking at a picture of Christ hanging upon the cross tells me nothing. It does not tell me that He hung there for sin. It does not tell me that He hung there for my sin. It does not tell me that He is the Son of God. Only the Word of God does that. And it is the Word of God that has been given us to tell the story of salvation through the blood of Christ. It is not through the foolishness of pictures that sinners are converted but through the foolishness of preaching.

It is amazing how slowly unscriptural practices enter the Christian Church. We must at all times go back to the Scriptures. The Bible is our infallible guide. And if our practices and doctrines do not conform with the teachings of the Scriptures then we must eliminate them. The Bible instructs the Church not to make any likeness of Christ. The present day pictures of Christ are false and no one would make a serious claim that they resemble Christ upon earth. They separate His humanity from His deity. They do not at all give us a glimpse of His present glory. They are not condoned by the inspired apostles.

God has ordained the foolishness of preaching to evangelize the world. He has promised to attend the preaching of the Word with the power of the Holy Spirit. The so-called pictures of Christ are a hindrance and a temptation to idolatry. Let us cleanse the Temple of God from them."(14)

Perhaps The Passion of Christ will provide Evangelicals with a great opportunity after all. They are being given a rare opportunity to reject the world's methods and to recommit themselves to fulfilling God's commission to preach the Gospel and to trust that that preaching will always accomplish what He pleases. Let us hope that they will seize it.

GOREFEST OF THE DEFEATED JESUS

Released by Icon Productions and Newmarket Films. In Aramaic and Latin, with English subtitles. Running time: 120 minutes. Rated R.

We live in the age of Judaic supremacy. In such an age Judaics cry "Holocaust!" when they stub their toe on a fire hydrant and Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" is that fire hydrant. The Zionists of our time are accustomed to calling the shots -- in the White House, the European Union, the Vatican, in American finance and education. The silver screen has been their bailiwick since the original gentile inventors and pioneers like Thomas Edison and D.W. Griffith were elbowed out of the way by quondam glove merchants, furriers and sons of ragmen such as Louis B. Mayer, Samuel Goldwyn and Kirk Douglas. Years ago this sorry fact was denied, but in our Age of Judaic Supremacy the moguls can afford to celebrate their dominion with a certain amount of public gloating.

The gang, the crowd, the cartel, the crime syndicate--call them what you will--are accustomed to having the goyim work in the motion picture industry at their sufferance. Into that totalitarian fiefdom enters Mel Gibson, seeking to expiate on screen for various sins he feels he has committed in the past. He chooses for his expiation a movie about Jesus Christ's trial, torment and execution. By so doing, he trespasses on the sole proprietorship of the high caste that predetermines how Christ, Pilate and Caiaphas will be portrayed in the approved manner.

Because Gibson shows, for a few on-screen moments, the villainy of the Chief Priest Caiaphas, and the existential angst of Pilate, "The Passion of the Christ" has been adduced as only slightly less bigoted than the Nazi movie, "Ewige Jude." The goyim see the smoke of this customary Judaic hyperbole and assume that Gibson has lit some kind of fire that illuminates the Gospel Truth about Jesus.

Would that it were so. The fact is, there are only three incentives for seeing this movie: 1. Watching Pilate rehabilitated and restored to his rightful New Testament role as a ruler who sought to avoid Christ's execution. 2. Witnessing for a few moments the rare sight of the chief priests depicted as vengeful and reprehensible. 3. To satisfy one's curiosity concerning the hoopla and hype surrounding the movie. With regard to the first two incentives, these scenes represent approximately ten or fifteen minutes of footage out of a total of 120 minutes.

Political Correctness

Even Gibson's portrayal of the Sadducees and Pharisees is not without compromises with political correctness. Caiaphas and his priestly entourage, for example, are shown as saddened by the scenes of Jesus' torture by laughing Roman soldiers. The leaders of the Jews take no pleasure in Christ's torment, unlike the Roman soldiers.

One of the most egregious betrayals in the film is when Christ, from the Cross, is shown asking for forgiveness for his Judaic tormentors, "because they know not what they do." But this forgiveness can only pertain to the Romans, since only they were ignorant of the spiritual contests of the Jews. But Gibson makes it patent that Jesus is beseeching God's forgiveness for Caiaphas as well, in spite of Christ saying to Pilate, speaking of Caiaphas,"He that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin" (John 19: 10-11).

But if Caiaphas did not know what he was doing, as Gibson implies, and Caiaphas was ignorant of the fact that Jesus was the Messiah, how then did Caiaphas transgress by demanding Jesus' death? If the high priests didn't know what they were doing and truly believed Christ to be an impostor, then they were only being faithful to the law of God in requiring that He be put to death, and thus, the founders of Judaism are vindicated. We observe Gibson's confection of a new theology, which he expanded in his conversation with Diane Sawyer on national television, with the unscriptural proposition that "we're-all-equally-guilty."

Jesus had said of the high priests, the Pharisees and Sadducees, that they were the murderers of the prophets and responsible for the spilling of all the righteous blood since Abel, and were damned to hell: "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zechariah son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar." In I Thessalonians 2: 14-15, Paul decreed they were deicides, "contrary to all men" and "under wrath." How are they then forgiven on the basis of "not knowing what they do"? Why does Gibson seek to conflate the chief priests with the Romans and absolve them all, when Jesus did not?

When Gibson first came under fire from Zionists, he shot a new scene and inserted it into the movie, a scene of Jesus preaching forgiveness for one'e enemies. Gibson has stated in interviews that he did this so that viewers would understand that Jesus was advising forgiveness for the Pharisees and chief priests, but there is no Biblical warrant for this novel interpretation. Jesus clearly stated that the Pharisees and Sadducees were "the children of hell." How could my forgiveness or your forgiveness spare them from their fate? Jesus was preaching to us a about forgiving our own enemies, those who steal our merchandise or punch us in the nose. To extrapolate an authority or mandate for humans to forgive God's enemies is an imposture.

As part of his political correctness, Gibson sought to imply that Jesus was requesting that we forgive His sworn ideological foes who, after His death, committed the heinous oral "traditions of the elders" to writing, and founded the antichrist religion of Judaism. They should be forgiven for this? Who among us may usurp the role of God and forgive these counterfeiters of the religion of Israel? This is bogus and reveals the extent of either Gibson's woeful theological confusion, or his futile attempt to appease the commissars of Hollywood.

Political correctness comes to the fore again when the crowd of Jews screams "Crucify him!" Well, I surmised that's what they were screaming, because Gibson did not allow subtitles for that historic, spine-tingling scene from the New Testament. The Jews scream in Aramaic and we must guess what it is they are saying. A monumental icon of the Passion story is thereby vitiated.

Another politically correct Gibson vignette has one of the Roman soldiers swear contemptuously at Simon, the man who helped Jesus carry His Cross, "Come, you Jew!" Obviously the Roman soldier was intended as a stand-in for a German SS trooper, and Simon was substituting for some Khazar in the Warsaw ghetto, the intent being to "combat anti-Semitism."

Gibson confirmed the intent of this scene in an interview with Bill O'Reilly (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,112436,00.html). In that interview he also nullified the good he had done in portraying Pilate fairly in his movie, by telling O'Reilly that Pilate was "a monster."

Almost all of the Israelites in the movie are either played by Italian actors who look like Khazars or by actual Khazars. Peter has a big nose and Mary, the Mother of Christ, the subject of so many portraits of tender pulchritude by the Renaissance painters of serenity and light, resembles a gypsy fortune-teller. Obviously Gibson imagines that today's Khazars, who run around calling themselves "Jews" are genetically the same nation that peopled Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. I don't think so. Gibson is not afraid to have the devil personified by a Nordic-looking woman, however, there being no powerful Nordic Anti-Defamation League to mollify.

"The Passion of the Christ" starts with Christ's agony in the garden. Here Gibson portrays Jesus as a blubbering, effeminate cry-baby, exhibiting no manly characteristics until the very end of the scene, when he stomps on a demonic snake.

With a couple of exceptions, actor Jim Caviezel is not convincing in the role of Christ. He lacks the authority, the presence, the inherent spirit. When he speaks to Caiaphas or Pilate he seems like a weak, perhaps demented man who is without a spark of command or divinity about him.

The Process Advances: Gorefest of the Defeated Jesus

The violence in the movie is dehumanizing. It is not opposed to, but part of, the hyper-violence of the modern media. As part of the alchemical processing of humanity by the Cryptocracy, the entertainment industry has become ever more violent. Each successive film must surpass the previous entry in terms of gore and bloodshed, or risk leaving the insatiable audience drowsy and distracted. For this reason, Gibson has to out-Herod Herod and blast us out of our seats with an unprecedented level of bloodshed. This movie is a veritable blood freakout. Western Europeans have typically not obsessed about blood, but blood is known to be a documented fascination for Talmudic Judaics and those spiritualized Judaics who wear the habiliments of gentiles.

In the 1940s and 50s, the highest cinematic artistry consisted in the suggestion of violence, not its actual full-fledged realization, and there lies the authentic artistic norm of western civilization. Gibson's movie violates those norms. There is nothing traditional about "The Passion of the Christ." It is revolutionary cinema; Antonin Artaud would have recognized it as the "theater of cruelty." Gibson's flick would have been denigrated as strictly infra dig fifty years ago.

"The Passion of the Christ" does not represent a restoration of a hallowed vision or a return to a venerated tradition, but rather a revolutionary departure from the cinematic canon of John Ford, the early Alfred Hitchcock and Elia Kazan. Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" is the next stage in the devolutionary process from Videodrome to Matrix to Kill Bill. It exhibits a morbid sado-masochist obsession that borders on psychosis.

Appeal to Satanists

The movie quotes from Isaiah 53:5: "By His wounds we are healed." But this film is a negation of that prophecy, since the wounds of Christ are never allowed to heal. The victorious Christianity of Vivaldi and Bach, Raphael and Da Vinci, is nowhere to be seen. Instead, we are shown a relentless series of images of a defeated Christ. I can envision "The Passion of the Christ" being shown at Satanic get-togethers where for an hour or more, the diabolists cheer and giggle at scene after scene of the relentless beating, whipping and torture of Christ.

Indeed, in Stanley Kubrick's 1971 movie, "A Clockwork Orange," the anti-hero, Alex, a rapist and murderer, fantasizes that he is a grinning Roman soldier deriving ecstasy from flogging Jesus. Kubrick's footage of these cruel fantasy sequences, wallowing in technicolor sadism directed at the person of Jesus, were the only footage of this type extant, until Gibson's film debuted.

As part of its Jesus-on-steroids ambiance, the movie relies heavily on melodramatic, Exorcist-like music, computer-generated sound effects and slow motion camera work, which gives "The Passion of the Christ," a feverish, psychedelic quality that detracts from, rather than enhances, our lucidity.

On the rare occasion when Gibson departs from this digital overkill to show us the Last Supper and the Sermon on the Mount, crafting the peace and stillness of a divine milieu, Caviezel does appear Christ-like, does seem to possess a certain authority and the scenes work beautifully, with cinematographer Caleb Deschanel coming close to his aim of imitating the painterly quality of a Carvaggio portrait. But if you blink you'll miss these fleeting moments of authentic hagiography and insight into the nature of the Christ. We are all-too soon whisked back to the ponderously telegraphed, digitally enhanced abattoir.

"Dangers of anti-Semitism"

"Dangers of anti-Semitism" as a result of this film? How so, when nearly everyone in it is shown to be equally culpable, with only the Nordic Romans and the Nordic Satan serving as the standout paradigm of evil. Moreover, I know of no movie critic, no Catholic bishop, no Protestant TV preacher who ever worked themselves into a lather over the possibility that one of the hundreds of "Holocaust" movies that have been churned out over the last four decades would result in persecution and hate being directed at Germans. In the case of the Germans and the "Holocaust" movies that denigrate them, it is always a matter of, "Too bad if the truth hurts."

I don't sucker in for any special pleading for the Zionists on this count. They should learn to take their lumps like everyone else. They've dished it out to the Arabs and the Germans on TV and in movies for years with shameless impunity, and hardly anyone in the Establishment has ever raised a whimper of protest.

The racket being raised about Gibson's movie is just the usual Judaic paranoia over the slightest deviation from their anti-Roman, anti-Christ dogma; part and parcel of their religious fanatic mentality. If in the weeks and months ahead we learn that Gibson has been boycotted by Hollywood, or attacked by some other means, it will not be due to the fact that he is a genuine enemy of Judaism or Zionism. Indeed, the gentile shills for those murderous ideologies, from Pat Robertson to Cal Thomas, are full of praise for Mel and his movie.

Rather, if Gibson is targeted, he will be targeted because the least deviation from the Judaic party line cannot be tolerated, but must be publicly punished as a warning to other, perhaps far more daring, would-be rebels and dissenters. Gibson is not an enemy of Churchianity or the Vatican. He shares their reductionist, universalist theology. But he has exhibited an iota of independence in his portrayals of Caiaphas and Pilate, and even this tiny bit of autonomy is a stone in the shoe of such Hollywoodberg capos as Jeffrey Katenzenberg and Stephen Spielberg.

But for us to become embroiled in rivalries between two wings of the same dialectical synthesis, is a waste of time and energy. It causes us to derogate substance and elevate tinsel, to mistake the chimera for the cause.

The fact is, we've been had. "The Passion of the Christ" is an over-rated, politically-correct bore (unless gore is your bag). Gibson must be one seriously troubled soul to have made this mess. His movie will appeal to Biblically-illiterate "Christians," the Marquis de Sade set, and to the staff and management of Icon productions, who will realize a handsome return on their investment.

Witnessing this gorefest's immense popularity among the churched, I can only wonder at the degraded state of Christendom in 2004.

Attending this movie, whether the moviegoer fully understands it or not, is a great, massive, silent rejection of all that AmeriKwa an the jews who produce it stand for. The jews, no matter the asterisks and appendages and renunciations they've exacted, understand this. Jews have great antennae for hostile vibes, and you'd better believe they get the deep message here. They don't care about the fine points where Gibson shows them as they aren't any more than the Christians do. They "feel" the real message, and they are wroth and afraid - and right to be so. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices.

If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at this Point, keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. This week, hundreds of Jewish media outlets across the country are regurgitating the story of local tramp, alcoholic, and ex-con James Byrd, who was dragged to his death by White racist John King, in Jasper, Texas. Some of the articles are marking the 5-year anniversary of the event, headlined 'Today in History,' while others teach the public that hate is White under the guise of "Black History Month."

The purpose of the Jewish media bosses is to make Whites feel guilty, so that they won't oppose the Jews' campaign for more "hate crime" legislation, the same sort of "hate speech" legislation which the Jews have succeeded in having imposed on the people of Canada and Britain and France and Germany and Switzerland and a dozen other countries, where it is now illegal to say or write or publish anything Politically Incorrect. John King, although a criminal, did not deserve to be raped and sodomized by sub-humans while in prison. Upon release, he was looking for some payback. I can understand that. While John King was being tried in Jasper, Texas for the dragging death of James Byrd, Francisco Martinez was being tried in Denver, Colorado, for the rape, torture, and murder of 14-year-old Brandy Duvall.

Duvall was kidnapped from a Denver bus stop by Martinez and six other members of the mestizo gang to which he belongs, the Bloods. They took her to a house where one of the gang members lives and gang-raped her for several hours. The gang members then took turns sexually torturing the White junior high school student. Martinez slit Ms. Duvall's anus open with a butcher knife so that she could be more easily sodomized, and repeatedly rammed a broomstick into her vagina while she screamed and begged for her life. Then, after they had finished amusing themselves, Martinez and the other Mexicans handcuffed the girl, placed a hood over her head, and drove her to a drainage ditch. Unless you live in Denver, you haven't heard a word about Brandy Duvall. Had Duvall been Black and the gang White, her photo would surely have been splashed on front pages of newspapers across the country, and the story run in the first segment of every evening news show. Nazi Items, Porn Found at Priest's Home

NEW YORK -- A 64-year-old priest pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal possession of $50,000 stolen from his Long Island parish -- cash police found at his apartment along with a pistol, pornography and Nazi paraphernalia.

John Johnston, who entered his plea before Queens Criminal Court Judge Robert Raciti, was ordered to pay back the money to St. Martin of Tours Church in the Nassau County hamlet of Bethpage. The Roman Catholic priest is expected to be sentenced on April 14 to five years probation on a charge of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The $50,000 was swiped between 1998 and last October from Sunday collections at the church, where the priest celebrated Mass for three decades as its pastor. Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Johnston had let down the members of his church.

"His conduct represents a betrayal of the trust of his parishioners, who looked to him for spiritual guidance and moral leadership," the prosecutor said. Authorities found the cash in Johnston's apartment in Queens' Jackson Heights neighborhood. The priest had kept 20 envelopes marked with the words, "St. Martin of Tours, Weekly Sacrifice," along with his parishioners' names and dollar amounts contributed. At the apartment, investigators also came upon an unlicensed .38-caliber pistol, pornography and Nazi paraphernalia, police said.

Last week in Nassau County, Johnston pleaded guilty to one count of grand larceny related to the church theft, county District Attorney Denis Dillon said. He is to be sentenced in Nassau on April 16. The priest was arrested in October at the Rikers Island jail, where he was being held on other New York City charges, including aggravated harassment and weapon possession. Johnston is suspected of making harassing telephone calls to the staff at a Brooklyn high school. He is to appear in Brooklyn Criminal Court on March 17 to face those charges. Johnston told authorities he stole between $60 and $100 a week from the counting room of St. Martin of Tours.

Funny you should mention math. I think religion and math are very similar. Math represents, in itself, nothing beyond itself. Numbers are merely symbols. But they are not arbitrary in that they are symbols of patterns found in nature. But a number represents only one feature of phenomena- its numerical value.

I would say the same of religious symbols. They may not "exist" in the sense of not being historically true. Like, Siddhartha may not have been any one particular fellow who was a kshatriya and sat under a tree etc. Or Jesus, maybe just a composite of messiahs and magicians who were well frequent phenomena in the area. But maybe "resurrection" represents a "real" emotional-spiritual idea which is why it crops up from Osiris to Mitra to Jesus to Baldur...

I'm not interested with proving historical facts. I leave that to historians. After a fashion, I dont care about whether or not he rose from the dead or even if he existed. Years ago, I just told myself, dead men dont rise. I dont fear any invisible God sending me to any invisible hell because I cant make myself belief in what defies the laws of the visible. I spit on Pascal's wager. That is for cowards. But after years of being an atheist, I got around to contemplating similarities between Greek and Norse mythology. And then, similarities between Greek, Norse, Hindu mythology-- and "Christian mythology." Yesterday, I was very affected by the Passion, more so than I ever have been before hearing the story many times growing up in the Presbyterian Church or plenty of times in recent years in Catholic masses before Good Friday. I was thinking mostly about being a parent, seeing your own kid go through this kind of torture, and being able to do nothing, and how awful that could be. Must be for any parent watching a child suffer. That part of the film, the perspective of Mary, I was totally unprepared to encounter. Amazing how he worked that in. I think you picked up on this a bit in your review, and once the Jew-furor dies down, others will appreciate this aspect of the film as well. I havent fussed one second over whether or not Santa Claus exists.

But what does the Idea of a dead man rising do? What does thinking about it, mulling it over, trying to believe the unbelievable do?

What about the square root of negative one? Unsolvable. What about Zeno's paradoxes? What of the arrow or turtle? Impossible. We know the hare overtakes the turtle, we know the arrow hits the target. And yet the "math" humbly tells us, that cant be so.

Probably in materialistic terms, "paradoxes" do something to your brain which as Edgar suggested might not be so different from LSD. Maybe too much of it all can make you into a nut. Maybe the right amount can make you into something good. I wouldnt have wasted so much time either reading Julius Evola or Revilo Oliver or kicking it around at VNN for years if I didnt think it might help.

I keep on thinking about that scene in Camp of The Saints where the French army guys are sitting there, watching the shitskins trample the Catholic monks into the sand on the beach. "Maybe that's what would have saved us" said one to the other. "Fanatical, unreasoning belief in the rightness of our cause." Somebody look it up and tell me if I'm off target on that paraphrase.

Hell yes Santa Claus exists. He exists in our heads. We need to own our heads and not the Jews. Gibson pulled off a thumbing of the nose at the Jews that demonstrates their weakness and our strength. I think more and more we have been defeating ourselves and most of Jewish power is imagined on our part. That we have "internalized our oppression" as a friendly professor told me. The Passion is the biggest "crack in the Propasphere" that has appeared in a long time and it bears present and future attention. Pastor Creates Furor With Sign Blaming Jews For Crucifixion

I'm no historian but I know that to the last conscripted soldiers on the walls of besieged Rome their predicament seemed immediate and of recent origin. They didn't have the benefit of time and objectivity to see what led to their fate.

Imagine what it would be like if someone made movies in which the criminals were always Hasidim or other Jews, instead of Blacks as criminals, and Muslims as terrorists.

The thing to me about the Passion and what determines one's reaction to it and to Gibson's depiction of it is that it depends on whether Jesus is indeed the Son of God. More than a few Bible scholars and historians say that spin is preposterous. Pilate, they argue, was a brutal dictator who used slaughter and crucifixion as a means of crowd control. Thousands of Jews, including Jesus, were tortured and nailed to the cross for causing trouble and sparking insurrection.

Gibson's screenplay, however, goes way beyond the Bible in its depiction of the Jewish authorities as the bad guys. While the Roman soldiers are depicted as inhuman brutes, Pilate and his wife (who is not even mentioned in the Bible) come off as sympathetic characters just trying to do the right thing. Caiphas and his cohorts are seen as the cunning, ruthless manipulators who pull the strings and, ultimately, control the whips.

Does that stereotype sound familiar? That depiction -- along with Gibson's almost pornographic obsession with the physical torture of Jesus -- come, not from scripture, but from a controversial, nonbiblical source. While it's not mentioned in the press handouts, Gibson has told interviewers that he was heavily influenced by a 19th century book of visions, "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ," by Anne Catherine Emmerich, a German nun and mystic. Emmerich's visions about the torture of Jesus are known for their extremely negative depiction of Caiphas and the Jewish crowds. In her vision, Emmerich describes "the cruel Jews almost devouring their victim with their eyes" and a "crowd of miscreants -- the very scum of the people.'' While Caiphas is painted as the incarnation of evil, Emmerich sees Pilate as "that proud and irresolute pagan, that slave of the world, who trembled in the presence of the true God.'' Both Emmerich and Gibson -- not the Bible -- portray Pilate's wife as a secret supporter of the tortured Jesus and include the same nonbiblical scenes, such as one where Jesus is tossed off a bridge and yanked back up by his chains.

Emmerich's descriptions of the tortured body of Jesus often read as if they were the actual instructions given to Gibson's makeup artists. "The flesh was so torn from his ribs that you might almost count them,'' the German nun wrote. "His whole body covered with black, green and reeking wounds ... shoulders so violently distended as to be almost dislocated.'' Scenes of such carnage are what earned "The Passion of the Christ" its "R" rating. It is not always easy to watch, but Gibson's creation is nevertheless a strangely compelling, mystical and moody vision of a story you think you know but have never quite seen in this troubling light. His portrayal of Satan -- a force always lurking in the shadows of the film and the minds of its characters -- is stunningly brilliant.

Conservative evangelical Protestants, not traditionally known for their devotion to the mangled body of the Christian savior, nevertheless hope Gibson's "Passion" will rally the troops for a new crusade to bring fresh followers to Jesus. Will it work, or will the movie, as some Jewish leaders fear, fuel the fires of anti-Semitism? Yes, it will -- on both counts. Those viewers already predisposed toward hating Jews will no doubt find something to like in Gibson's stereotypical portrayal of conniving Jewish priests. Those in the audience who already love Jesus will forge an even stronger bond with the man who died for their sins and perhaps find new resolve to spread the news to nonbelievers. In the end, there's nothing and everything new about "The Passion of the Christ." For centuries, Christians have put on Lenten-season "passion plays" that recount this timeless story and, sometimes, spark hostility and violence toward Jews. Then, and now, these productions resurrect that complicated, unanswerable and perhaps meaningless question: "Who killed Jesus?" Blaming "the Jews" for that crime makes about as much sense as blaming "the Italians." But then bigotry, like belief, never does makes a whole lot of sense.

The carefully seeded media storm has done its job: Believers as well as non-believers are talking about Mel Gibson's ``The Passion of the Christ.'' So is the thing any good? Should you round up the spouse and kids and make your way to the neighborhood megaplex for what is being touted as the most realistic Passion play ever?

Sure, if your idea of an inspirational evening out is a religious snuff film that's being flogged as an important statement on the meaning of Christianity but is, in fact, two hours-plus of almost unrelieved torture and agony. Is it, as some have charged, anti-Semitic as well? Yes, absolutely. Gibson's Christ, played by Jim Caviezel under tons of caked fake blood, not only dies for our sins, he also seems to glory in the excruciating pain, giving the entire enterprise the unsavory feel of something closer to sadomasochistic Caligula than ancient Scripture (rendered here in subtitled Aramaic and ``street Latin'').

The Gibson camp undoubtedly will fire back: All the bludgeoning and whipping and public ridicule is supposed to be unbearably horrific. It's there to show filmgoers, for the very first time, what Jesus of Galilee endured at the hands of Roman guards on the climb to Calvary.

This argument is fine as far as it goes. Unfortunately, Gibson severely undermines it by detailing the suffering of a cardboard icon. His Christ looks like the Christ of other movies (bearded, scrawny, soulful) but even with the obligatory flashbacks (to childhood, carpentry shop, Sermon on the Mount, Last Supper), there's no sense of the man behind the Messiah, his ministry or his hold on his disciples and Mary Magdalene (Monica Bellucci). He is first a frightened, then an impervious cipher, some anonymous victim of a witch hunt. Minus even a shred of empathy, the film leaves us to wince and squirm in an emotional vacuum. We feel for this man, but only as we would for anyone so mercilessly and endlessly beaten.

The extreme violence does not teach a lesson; it's an end in itself, more suited to the S&M crowd than to anyone seeking an uplifting sermon on everlasting redemption. One exits feeling depressed, enervated, beaten down. So, on to the $64,000 question: Who is responsible for Jesus' arrest, torment and execution in this retelling? Safe answer: Judas Iscariot (Luca Lionello), who fingers Jesus for 30 pieces of gold and then, plagued by demons (portrayed by hectoring children), hangs himself.

Gibson's answer (culled from his interpretation of the New Testament Gospels): The temple priests who fear that Jesus' growing popularity will undermine their own authority. Spurred on by Caiphas (Mattia Sbragia), who leads the chant of ``Crucify him!'' the Jewish elders are depicted as biblical-era McCarthyites who con Pilate (Hristo Naumov Shopov) by playing on his political insecurity. Gibson's claim -- that his Temple leaders are just an extreme splinter group, and in no way meant as a blanket indictment of ancient (or modern) Jewry -- is contradicted by what we see. Pilate is the tragic hero of this piece, torn between his conscience, the wishes of his wife (Claudia Gerini) and the exigencies of his outpost command. While it's the sadistic Roman guards who overstep their charge to ``punish him'' and beat Jesus to a bloody pulp, it's clearly Caiphas who is calling the shots and rousing the rabble, most of whom are calling for Jesus' head.

If there's still doubt about Gibson's allegiance, check out where he implants Satan during the kangaroo trial. The Man Downstairs (an androgynous demon played by Rosalinda Celentano) slithers undetected through the ranks of the Temple elders, obviously in their corner.

Gibson, a hard-line Roman Catholic Traditionalist, has attacked his subject with the fervor of a zealot. And, ironically, this is what makes his $30 million sermon (shot in southern Italy and on a Cinecitá studio set) not just sick but seductive. Numerous vignettes -- photographed by Caleb Deschanel and designed by Francesco Frigeri and Carlo Gervasi -- stand out as suitable for framing, including Judas' suicide and a remarkably restrained resurrection. But what stays in mind is the appalling, skin-flaying violence. It has been laid on with such ferocity that it clearly is directed more at the hell-and-brimstone set than at the less-fanatical churchgoer. In any case, such sadism should be branded NC-17 and kept well away from impressionable kids. Indeed, any parent who submits a child under 13 to this blood bath ought to be publicly pilloried himself.

You'll notice I didn't say ``flogged.'' That's Gibson's department. The Passion of the Christ

Why won't anyone say they are Jewish?

Friends help each other out. That’s why the US sends billions of dollars every year to Israel. In return, Israel advances US strategic interests in the Middle East. But despite this mutual back scratching, Israeli-American relations are enduring a rough patch. Last December, a senior State Department official blasted Israel for having “done too little for far too long” to resolve the conflict with its Palestinian neighbors. Indeed, President Bush himself had scolded Israel a month earlier with his demand that “Israel should freeze settlement construction, dismantle unauthorized outposts, end the daily humiliation of the Palestinian people and not prejudice final negotiations with the building of walls and fences.”

Harsh words, but is it all just window-dressing? This was not the first time Bush criticized Israel and he has made numerous calls for a “viable” Palestinian state during his presidency. Nevertheless, he has never concretely punished Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for ignoring US directives and shrugging off his commitment to the peace process. It’s also worth noting that diplomatic admonitions are the responsibility of the State Department which has been on the losing end of the policy wars in Bush’s White House. One wonders what Israeli-American relations, and indeed what American relations with the rest of the world would look like if the neocon hawks who control Rumsfeld’s Defense Department were also in charge at State.

A lot of ink has been spilled chronicling the pro-Israel leanings of American neocons and fact that a the disproportionate percentage of them are Jewish. Some commentators are worried that these individuals – labeled ‘Likudniks’ for their links to Israel’s right wing Likud party – do not distinguish enough between American and Israeli interests. For example, whose interests were they protecting in pushing for war in Iraq?

Drawing attention to the Jewishness of the neocons is a tricky game. Anyone who does so can count on automatically being smeared as an anti-Semite. But the point is not that Jews (who make up less than 2 percent of the American population) have a monolithic perspective. Indeed, American Jews overwhelmingly vote Democrat and many of them disagree strongly with Ariel Sharon’s policies and Bush’s aggression in Iraq. The point is simply that the neocons seem to have a special affinity for Israel that influences their political thinking and consequently American foreign policy in the Middle East.

Here at Adbusters, we decided to tackle the issue head on and came up with a carefully researched list of who appear to be the 50 most influential neocons in the US (see above). Deciding exactly who is a neocon is difficult since some neocons reject the term while others embrace it. Some shape policy from within the White House, while others are more peripheral, exacting influence indirectly as journalists, academics and think tank policy wonks. What they all share is the view that the US is a benevolent hyper power that must protect itself by reshaping the rest of the world into its morally superior image. And half of the them are Jewish.

The Passion, Mel Gibson's bloody mess.

Ever since his star began to rise after the 1979 Australian thriller Mad Max, Mel Gibson hasn't seemed fully alive on screen unless he's being tortured and mutilated. In the Road Warrior and Lethal Weapon films, as well as such one-shots as Conspiracy Theory (1997) and The Patriot (2000), Gibson courted martyrdom, and he achieved it. He won an Oscar for his labors in Braveheart (1995), which ends with its hero managing to scream "FREEEEE-DOM!!" as he's drawn and quartered. Gibson snatched the pulp movie Payback (1999) away from its writer-director, Brian Helgeland, to make the torture of his character even more gruelingly explicit: He added shots of his toes being smashed by an iron hammer. Payback: That's what almost all of Gibson's movies are about (including his 1990 Hamlet.) Even if he begins as a man of peace, Mad Mel ends as a savage revenger.

A devout Catholic-albeit one who believes that Vatican II, which formally absolved the Jews of responsibility for the death of Jesus [LIKE JEWS RESPECT CATHOLIC AUTHORITY], is illegitimate-Gibson has said that what moves him most about the Christ story is that Jesus was whipped, scourged, mocked, spat on, had spikes driven through his hands and feet, and was left to die on the cross-and that he didn't think of payback; he thought of forgiveness. But by wallowing in his torture and death for two hours, the director of The Passion of the Christ (Newmarket) suggests that he's thinking of anything but.

Gibson had an ingenious idea for promoting his Passion: as the film that the Jews don't want you to see. Now watch those lines form! Bad reviews won't matter, either, since Gibson has called his critics "the forces of Satan" or, more charitably, the "dupes of Satan." After Gibson's pre-emptive blasts, an attack on his Passion will be interpreted by some as an attack on their religious beliefs instead of on filmmaking that is theologically, morally, and-by the way-artistically suspect.

As you probably know, The Passion of the Christ recounts the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus of Nazareth (played by the lean, high-cheekboned Jim Caviezel), with flashbacks to the Last Supper and a few shots of the little-boy Jesus being hugged by his mother, Mary. (The latter are cross-cut with spikes being hammered through his hands.) The lashes of the soldiers (dispatched by the Jewish priesthood) begin about 15 minutes into the film; by the time Jesus is dragged into the presence of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate (the Bulgarian actor Hristo Naumov Shopov), his face has already been smashed to a pulp.

Pilate, whom historians identify as a surpassingly cruel ruler responsible for crucifying many thousands to maintain his authority, is portrayed as a sorrowful, even-tempered man whose wife (Claudia Gerini) shows acts of loving kindness toward Mary (Maia Morgenstern) and Mary Magdalene (Monica Bellucci). Pilate is shocked by the Jews' brutality and by the determination of the priest Caiphas (Mattia Sbragia) to see this so-called blasphemer executed. While Pilate wrinkles his forehead, searching his tender conscience, sundry Jews lean into the camera and hiss or keen through rotted teeth.

I know, it sounds like a Monty Python movie. You're thinking there must be something to The Passion of the Christ besides watching a man tortured to death, right? Actually, no: This is a two-hour-and-six-minute snuff movie-The Jesus Chainsaw Massacre-that thinks it's an act of faith. For Gibson, Jesus is defined not by his teachings in life-by his message of mercy, social justice, and self-abnegation, some of it rooted in the Jewish Torah, much of it defiantly personal-but by the manner of his execution.

That doesn't exactly put him outside the mainstream: The idea that Jesus died for the sins of mankind is one of the central tenets of Christian faith. But Gibson has chosen those sections of the Gospels (especially the Gospel of Matthew) that reflect the tension between Jews and Christians 50 years after the crucifixion, when the new religion's proselytizers were trying to convert, rather than incite, the Roman authorities. This is the sort of passion play that makes people mad.

Gibson uses every weapon in his cinematic arsenal to drive home the agony of those last dozen hours. While his mother and Mary Magdalene watch, Jesus is lashed until his entire body is covered in bloody crisscrossing canals. When he rises, amazing the Roman soldiers with his stamina, they go for the scourges, which rip and puncture his flesh in slow motion-all while the Romans and the Jews cackle wildly. Carrying his cross, he falls again and again in slow motion on his swollen, battered body while the soundtrack reverberates with heavy, Dolby-ized thuds. It is almost a relief when the spikes are driven into his hands and feet-at least it means that his pain is almost over.

What does this protracted exercise in sadomasochism have to do with Christian faith? I'm asking; I don't know. Gibson's revenge movies end with payback-or, in Braveheart, the promise of payback to come. When Jesus is resurrected, his expression is hard, and, as he moves toward the entrance to his tomb, the camera lingers on a round hole in his hand that goes all the way through. Gibson's Jesus reminded me of the Terminator-he could be the Christianator-heading out into the world to spread the bloody news. Next stop: the Crusades.

Weighing In: Synagogue

For a guy who isn't very spiritual, and you can ask my friends in the clergy or Doug Lund about that (Doug never wanted to sit next to me during the news for fear that a bolt of lightning would strike), my road trips always seem to take spiritual side trips.

While everybody else is basking in the sun on Maui, I'm the one who finds the shining little Buddhist temple tucked away down the beach in Lahaina.

On the second leg of my recent trek to Florida I round a curve to find a 198- foot cross dead ahead, put there at the junction of Interstates 57 and 70 in Illinois by an organization called "Cross USA." I didn't stop but, looming out of the haze, it is impressive.

However, it's in Florida that I stumble across the mother lode when I ask my daughter's father-in-law, who is Jewish, if they ever allow "observers" at his synagogue. He leaps at the idea, but he's not eyeing me as a convert. He says Judaism really doesn't encourage converts; it's something you're born to. I wonder how they felt about Sinatra's rat pack when they all converted.

Anyway, he's really pumped about it so on Friday night we troop off to the weekly Shabbat service at Congregation Schaarai Zedek in Tampa. This is a reformed congregation, so the yarmulke and even suit and tie are optional. Frankly, the ritual reminds me of Catholic mass, but all the music comes from the cantor rather than a choir. In this case, it's a woman cantor and women are seated with men in the congregation. Much like Christian churches the responses come from a book. It's Hebrew so the pages go from right to left even though you read them from left to right. It would drive a dyslexic nuts.

The Rabbi does a formal reading from the Torah, which is a scroll of the Old Testament, speaking in both Hebrew and English. The Torahs, of which this congregation has amassed five, are kept in a glass ark-like cabinet. The dead are mentioned on the anniversary of their death. And in this service, the living were recognized, as well. The Rabbi called a soldier just back from Iraq to the front, praising him for refusing to have his religion deleted from his dog tags as a safety option, offered a prayer for the soldier and then gave him a box of raisins from a jar under the pulpit, a treat he gives kids in the congregation. It got a good laugh in this blend of the ritualistically formal and the realistically informal.

I found myself squirming a little as the Rabbi took off on Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion," making a "reasonable doubt" argument about the Jews' complicity in the crucifixion since the Romans were running the area at the time. But it's hard to discount the version you've heard all your life even if you're not devout about it. In talking with him later, I told him I knew 750,000 people who might take issue with his version but nobody who was going to burn synagogues over it because of a movie. I figure he probably boosted the box office by a couple of hundred tickets in his own congregation.

Over homemade baked goods after the service, Rabbi Birnholz told me his son had served in Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls has a congregation but no synagogue or temple that I know of. A younger Rabbi looked it up and found only a post office box, a very small corner, indeed, in KELOLAND's growing ethnic diversity.

No matter what you think about Christianity, go see 'The Passion', quick, before the jews come up with some stunt to get in pulled from distribution. It's the only time you will be able to see a world of evil, slimey jewish characters with no redeeming features. (The same way they present Aryans.) Most of the jewish women are 'good', but I don't think any of the major jewish male characters are, except Simon who looks part black/ part anglo, and another guy that doesn't make much impact.

Mel reverses Hymiewood stereotypes every chance he gets. He takes a number of good shots at the jews, exactly as the jews have done to Catholics and Whites all these decades. Mel's message to the jews, queers and perverts: "You have to want to change." (The Romans, you could tell, were already going over to the side of good.) I thought it was brilliant - a tad longish on the bloody 'Way of the Cross', some hokey bits here and there, but overall it is a great movie.

Read your review of "The Passion" and thought it was like most of your writings, well done! Although I haven't seen the film yet I have read a couple of other reviews on it and many have made the same observation as you(minus your tact about jews of course), that is, "the refusal to explain the reason the jews are so hot on getting rid of Jesus".

Also, it is my understanding Gibson did leave in the kosher offending line, "his blood be on us and upon our children". The scene was left in the movie but minus the translation. Which unless one speaks Latin or Aramaic would have the effect of deleting the scene to english speaking audiences. However, that doesn't mean the translation can't be put back in at a later date when all the beanie furor has died down. My guess is Gibson made a temporary appeasement to the jew boys for the time being. We can only hope!

"The Passion Of Christ," my impressions.

I think Gibson did an excellent job, of showing jews as they really are, unflinching cowards with a penchant for spitting and violence, but no real guts to do their own dirty work. I noticed that the only virtuous ones in the whole film were Romans, namely Pilates wife and some of the Roman soldiers. Jews generally were portrayed as betrayers and rabble rousers.

This film leaves one with a feeling of alienation, a true blue Amerikwan feeling, it will not make any new converts to Christianity, it will not arouse anti-semitism, simply because it stikes a chord in a hollow shell called Amerikwa... Gibson does not open the door on Chrisitanity, he closes it, yes I believe this films effect will be a death knell for Christianity, because it is above all things too realistic. Its positive effect may only be to demystify the jew, showing them as swindling whining camel traders, or effete queers like Herod. Second thought is that this film presents the jews with a dilemna, having accomplished the destruction of Christianity, who's gonna listen to that wail about Jesus being a jew?

I wasn't moved one bit by the flaying of Christ, the redskin savages were more adept at toture, the only touching moment was when Christ conversed with his mother from the cross, "flesh of my Flesh", As if she personally felt all the pain.

Yes the jews made much ado about nothing, a tempest in a teacup. The sad thing about how jaded we've become here in the Kwa. The "passion was a good litmus test of just how low down the Kwan society is, if this were true-blue religion would it tolerate its most reverend messiah to be bandied around in movie theaters peopled with popcorn munching , baggy ass whiggers looking on with blank stares? No Christ is not hated by the blubbery popcorn munching crowd, its just Ohh hum, could you give me freedom fries with my burger.

February 20, 2004-Years ago my dear friend, the eccentric but brilliant British writer Frieda Utley, used to say after evenings of impassioned arguing about politics, life and love: "It finally all comes down to washing up." Then she'd go do the dishes.

Me? I have my own little responses. When some smarty-pants in some administration says vaingloriously that HE cannot tell ME something, I tell him (admittedly in a somewhat smart a...lecky way), "Just remember, I'll be here long after you're gone." Others I tell for the good of their soul, "You know, this story is going to come out in the end anyway."

Those little nuggets of wisdom seemed to resurface this week in the next chapter of the "Chalabi Saga," which is getting so sinuous it might replace the never-ending Forsytes.

What we're seeing is a continued washing up after the dirty business of getting America into war in Iraq, thanks to my smart-alecky journalist friends.

You DO remember Ahmad Chalabi? He's the sleek, arrogant one from the corridors of political London who wants desperately to be president of Iraq. Chalabi courted American neocons here and figured he could "buy" an American war, even on the cheap, by feeding false intelligence to gullible fanatics. He is wanted in Jordan on his conviction as a bank embezzler who was sentenced in absentia in 1992 to 22 years of hard labor -- but hey, nobody's perfect.

In fact, Chalabi was made to order for the people who wanted to invade Iraq -- and it is abundantly clear that his intelligence was made to order, too.

This week, Chalabi, who has been serving as president of the Iraqi Governing Council in Baghdad, gave an interview there to the London Daily Telegraph in which he effectively admitted that the intelligence he avidly supplied to the civilians at the top of the Pentagon and others was cooked up.

"We are heroes in error," he said in the interview, shrugging off the criticisms coming from Washington. "As far as we're concerned, we've been entirely successful. Our objective has been achieved. That tyrant Saddam is gone, and the Americans are in Baghdad. What was said before is not important."

Months ago, United Press International's Martin Sieff reported that Chalabi and his Iraqi National Congress coached a number of Iraqi army defectors and others, in great detail, to convince American intelligence that Saddam was hiding a veritable arsenal of chemical and biological weapons as well as an active nuclear bomb program.

American officials last week actually named one of the most bold cases. It was the claim that came from an INC-coached major in the Iraqi intelligence service who said that Saddam had mobile biological weapons laboratories -- the man even passed a lie detector test. But the claim had a life of its own and continued to be cited by American officials until arms inspector David Kay returned from Iraq and confirmed that the trucks had been built to hold equipment to make hydrogen for weather balloons.

All along, Chalabi was bitterly distrusted in Washington by both the CIA and the State Department. The intentions of Chalabi & Co. could not have had access here -- or the success in getting us into this war -- without the "American Likudniks" within the neoconservative war party.

Douglas Feith, deputy to Donald Rumsfeld, has long been known as a far-right supporter of Ariel Sharon's Likud Party in Israel. He argues that there is no difference between U.S. and Israeli security concerns; other officials such as Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle and David Wurmser are right behind him.

The fact that so many of the authors of this war are Jewish is not important. That they uncritically fit the alien shroud of Israeli far-right expansionist policy over American security policy is. They supported Chalabi so recklessly because he promised to immediately open relations between Iraq and Israel and begin piping oil to Israel.

As this incredible saga of using America to fight other people's wars continues -- some analysts here call it a "coup," some call it a "hijacking" of our policy; I prefer "conspiracy" -- the wash-up takes ever new configurations. The beleaguered neocons, responding to allegations that they led America into a falsely defined war, are diverting attacks from themselves to the CIA. Richard Perle, who as head of the Defense Policy Board had great input into the preparations for war, actually said this week: "The CIA has an almost perfect record of getting it wrong in relation to the Gulf going back to the Shah of Iran." He called for a "shakeup" in the intelligence establishment, which means "heads should roll." Neocon David Brooks even wrote in a New York Times column recently that there were no neocons! And one story going around town has Dick Cheney angrily accusing Colin Powell of bungling Iraq because he didn't let Chalabi immediately take over.

A coup? A hijacking? A conspiracy? Come to think of it, the situation more closely resembles the word "neocon" -- just take off the "neo."

The editors of the California Aggie, the University of Davis daily newspaper, decided to run "Undaunted by History - Revisionist Tabloid rejects 60 Years of Holocaust Scholarship" until Friday. A retraction was printed today, making sure people know that the wrong picture was given my name. Features editor Zachary Amendt wrote the piece. I have really no idea what the editorial policies are from the largest university paper in California, but it is fine with me if they run the piece until the end of the week.

A dear friend from France gave me a good straightening out by pointing out that we should actually be pleased with the way the article came out. She pointed out that "holocaust denier" was only used once in the entire piece, while "revisionist" or "revisionism" was used 15 times:

I realized that she was absolutely right. I re-read the piece, and it is true. Compared to what we have seen, this was actually decent. Interestingly, though, above "Revisionist Tabloid rejects 60 Years of Holocaust Scholarship" you will find a story about "Hillel House celebration of Shabbat Shalom."

The fall-out has been incredible. I have received, so far, 36 phone calls of the worst kind. So classic though, not one who actually wanted to discuss facts. All vulgar and vile and incoherent.

My God, this guy actually puts together the biggest revisionist conference ever, and is successful with it. He doesn't have our education. For crying out loud, he is just a chef.

You still don't get it. There were no gas chambers at Bergen Belsen, Dachau or any other concentration camp in the former Reich. Like it or not the gas spewing shower heads have long been debunked by mainstream historians.

Even at the notorious Auschwitz, it has been shown after much research, that there were no gas chambers, thanks to the work of revisionists and others.

See Fritjof Meyer's report pages 631-441 in the Historical Journal "Ost Europa" published May 2002 (ISSN 0030-6428). Meyer is hardly a revisionist being Senior Editor at Der Spiegel Magazine.

If you and your readers still believe in the human soap, shrunken heads, and human lamp shades propaganda of IMT fame you need to attend a holocaust detoxification program.

A thing that bothers me is the media's description of "The Passion." Have you noticed, they continue to use "very violent". I think it is a tactic to generate on one hand negative vibes, and on the other hand attract the young crowd. I don't get it. Every action movie that is currently coming out of Hollywood is violent. As Mel Gibson's controversial film, The Passion of the Christ opens in movie theaters this week in the United States, and then shortly thereafter in Canada, Europe, and the rest of the world, the Simon Wiesenthal Center has been one of the leading vocal critics of the film because of its stereotypical negative portrayal of Jews and sympathetic portrayal of Roman authorities that could, in turn, fuel antisemitism around the world.

In last June's Los Angeles Times editorial piece, Mel's Passion, Rabbi Marvin Hier wrote, "Gibson should consider the political context before bringing out his film. Globally, antisemitism is at its highest peak since the end of World War II. Synagogues and Jewish schools have been firebombed and Jews beaten on the streets of France and Belgium. According to some recent polls, 17% of Americans (up from 12% five years ago) hold to political and economic stereotypes about Jews; 37% hold Jews responsible for the death of Jesus. On the Internet as well as in print media around the world, the new demonization of Israelis as Nazi-like oppressors is fusing with the old libel of the Jews as "Christ killers." A cartoon in the Italian newspaper La Stampa (see above left) depicted an Israeli tank rolling up to a manger with little baby Jesus staring up in horror and crying out, 'Do you want to kill me once more?'"

Since last year when senior Wiesenthal Center officials began publicly expressing their concerns and endorsed changes to the film proposed by Christian and Jewish scholars, the Wiesenthal Center received an unprecedented wave of hate mail and calls. One letter stated, "...What this tells me is that you do not want the real truth to be shown on a public setting that will remind millions of Americans that the jews [sic] were in fact totally responsible for the death of Jesus Christ ...some of these enlightened folks will go for the throat of you jews [sic] and some of your offices of hate such as the ADL main office in New York, or maybe even the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Every time I hear of a suicide bomber killing jews [sic] in Israel I think to myself YES!"

Earlier this month, in an attempt to reach out to Mr. Gibson, Rabbi Hier (pictured left), who has seen the film twice, expressed his concerns directly to Mr. Gibson in a letter stating, "I have spent my adult life building an institution that promotes tolerance and commemorates the Holocaust. I have been a critic of your film, "The Passion of the Christ" which I sincerely believe portrays the Jews in a very negative manner and can once again stereotype them as being collectively responsible for the death of Jesus." Rabbi Hier proposed, "We can either go our separate ways or find a path to seek a middle ground..."(to read entire letter click here). To date, Rabbi Hier's letter has gone unanswered.

The controversy surrounding the film has escalated and given rise to misconceptions and distortions that threaten the status of Jewish-Christian relations and also takes away from the achievements of Vatican II's landmark 1965 document, Nostra Aetate, declaring "the Jews should not be presented as rejected or accursed by God, as if that followed from Holy Scriptures."

To combat this, the Center has written and distributed An Appeal to People of Faith, a document addressing the spate of misinformation regarding Jewish sentiment to the film and to reiterate the Jewish community's gratitude for decades of work on the part of the Christian community to distance itself from the religious roots of antisemitism. It also encourages the Christian community to proclaim that the Crucifixion's message is not one of violence or blame and that there is no room in Christian teaching to support the notion that today's Jews should be seen as the killers of God. An Appeal to People of Faith has already been sent to select leadership of all branches of the Christian faith. As Rabbi Hier noted, "Though we may differ over the film, our long term objectives to fighting bigotry and speaking out against antisemitism are too important to ignore." In Los Angeles, the day before The Passion of the Christ opened on Ash Wednesday, senior Wiesenthal Center officials met with Jewish and Christian leaders at the Center's Museum of Tolerance to address Jewish concerns and fears of antisemitic fallout over the film. We condemn unequivocally the cancer of anti-Semitism. We reject as unchristian with all the power we can muster any assertion that Jews collectively bare exclusive responsibility for the death of Christ...We will speak out against hatred of Jews...and we will declare loud and clear that we will not allow bigotry to drive a wedge between us."

In response, Rabbi Hier added, "... As we have said many times, our disagreement is not with Christian churches, nor with the Gospels. We are painfully aware that the power of vivid imagery has a history of inspiring in some people violence and hatred against the Jewish people. It is these concerns, against the backdrop of resurgent antisemitism in Europe and the Middle East that forces us to raise our voices.

U.S.: Israel's raid of Ramallah banks could destabilize PA banking system

The United States said Wednesday that Israel's seizure of some NIS 37 million in cash in Palestinian banks could destabilize the Palestinian banking system, and reiterated its call for Israel to coordinate such moves with the sector's Palestinian authorities.

Security forces on Wednesday raided four banks in the West Bank city of Ramallah, seizing the money which Israel said was mostly sent by Iran, Syria and Hezbollah to fund Palestinian militants. "Some of these actions that were taken risk destabilizing the Palestinian banking system, so we'd prefer to see Israeli coordination with the Palestinian financial authorities in order to stem the flow of funds to terrorist groups," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher told reporters in Washington.

An aide to Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat on Wednesday called the operation "a provocation" that was "asking for Palestinian retaliation." The joint operation by police, the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet security service marked the largest-scale effort since the start of the intifada to stop the flow of funds to militant groups, officials said. "The purpose of this operation is to impair the funneling of funds, which oil the wheels of terror against Israel," said an IDF statement. The operation is part of the "global war" on terrorist funding, the military said.

Palestinian medics said 42 people were injured, five critically, when stone- throwers confronted the biggest raid for months into Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's headquarters city of Ramallah. Palestinians rained stones on Israeli jeeps. Flames leaped from one of the vehicles as it was struck by a Molotov cocktail. Israeli troops rejected the accusation of Palestinian medics that they fired back some live rounds. The soldiers also used tear gas to repel the protestors, and a curfew was placed on the city center, witnesses said.

According to Palestinian sources, security forces presented some of the bank clerks with warrants issued by the GOC Central Command, and asked to inspect the bank's computers for transactions carried out by individuals suspected of financing terror attacks. The troops checked several hundred bank accounts - including those at branches of the Arab Bank and the Cairo Amman Bank - some belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad, Israeli security sources said.

In one case, bank employees were confined to several rooms. The troops were accompanied by computer experts of two of the banks, who had been arrested overnight, Palestinian security officials said. A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said soldiers were also looking for evidence of possible involvement by Arafat in funding terror attacks.

The forces took millions in cash from the bank vaults, corresponding to the amount of money they found in the targeted accounts, Israeli security sources said. Much of the funding came from Hezbollah, Iran and Syria, the sources said. Israeli security sources said the seized money would be used to fund Palestinian humanitarian projects. The offices of an Islamic charity in the West Bank city of Tul Karm were also raided on Wednesday. Computers and documents were taken from there too. "It's like the mafia, it's like a kind of mafia war," Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia told Channel 10 television news.

Palestinian Cabinet minister Saeb Erekat said the raids were unjustified. "This is destructive to the Palestinian economy and people are really worried," Erekat said. He said he fears Palestinians will lose confidence in their banking system and their would be a run on the banks Thursday. Arafat aide Tayeb Abdel-Rahim told Reuters: "This is provocation. They are asking for Palestinian retaliation. I do not see any justification."

The raid came on the day that leaders of Arafat's Fatah movement were to start discussing reforms and whether to dismantle its militant group the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, which has been behind suicide attacks on Israelis since the Palestinian uprising broke out in 2000. Palestinian security officials had confirmed Tuesday that Hezbollah helped fund the last two Jerusalem bus bombings - one on January 29 and the other on Sunday - in which 19 people were killed.

Security sources said the particular targets of the bank raids were the Islamic factions Hamas and Islamic Jihad, sworn to destroy the Jewish state. But troops were also looking for money sent by the Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah. The raids marked the largest search yet for money transfers to militant groups and the first time forces hauled cash out of Palestinian banks. Last year, troops raided a bank in a West Bank suburb of Jerusalem, and the Palestinian Authority briefly froze the bank accounts of Palestinian charities in the Gaza Strip to check for possible links to Hamas.

Palestinian Finance Minister Salam Fayad said the raids broke a banking agreement between the Palestinians, Israel and the United States. "Such measures will for sure hurt, to a large extent, the Palestinian economy and its institutions," Fayad said. A security source said Israel was not trying to harm the banks, and those whose money was confiscated can appeal to the army. "The banking system is the easiest and safest way to transfer money," the source said. "We have to deter them [militants] from using the banking system and get them to use other less safe methods."

I love the VNN for lots of reasons. I enjoy the wide range of WNist philosophy and strategy that many of the readers contribute. Although lately there has been more and more apocoliptic garbage put forth. I can only get a kick out of some of the things being mentioned. One gets the sense that Edgar Steele has a hard on for the 'coming collapse'. Hey, he may be correct, but I wouldn't bet on it. History shows that hedgemones and empires fall gradually over a long drawn out time. Amerikwa will be no different (or should I say IS no different). Now I know one reason why open and loud WN is rare. Let me ask Steele and others one simple question: HOW will the collapse come forth???

Nuclear attack? Possibly. But whoever is willing to launch a nuke at the US will most likely only have one or 2 nukes and will probably not have the capability to launch it from a far. Forget a nation-state nuking the US. Won't happen. Ideological/Religious terrorists would be the only group who will be willing to go this route and they will probably only have one or 2 bombs (most likely a dirty bomb).
