Not that I am a very original thinker. Hackworth, Metzger, anybody who understood the nature of "asymetrical warfare" as infamous Izzy prof Martin Van Creveld calls it, understood this was the likely outcome.

The suggestion was, Dont blame the Jews for crucifying Christ, because it's part of God's redemptive plan? Ah, that's like saying dont criticize Satan for tempting Eve, defying God, and so forth correct? Smells like Manicheanism. Smells like Zoroastrian duality. maybe some Christian would chirp in Mormonism is a heresy. To me, the notion smells like offal and refuse from the "Dung Gate" of Jerusalem.

The orthodox Christian viewpoint would be: God makes lemonade out of lemons. Not, that he orders people to make lemons because he wants to do lemonade.

The garden variety discussion of this sort is pretty boring. I think this sort of thing was better discussed by CS Lewis (better than Jack Young) in one of his non-fiction books, "the Problem of Evil" or something like that. Readers may note that this is the sort of meandering theological pondering that surrounds the story of Gollum and how his betrayal of his master Frodo leads to the destruction of the Ring. That is an even better treatment of the subject. But these guys were class A Christian apologists unmatched by anyone today. Certainly the current crop of Jew-treason-ignoring Jewdeo-Christians cant reach that level of quality. And if CS Lewis is not persuasive likely nothing will be.

However as Rich no doubt appreciates, once you've been through a period of atheism, it's all so much gibberish. Been through that myself, and I respect the atheist point of view. However, I've returned to spirituality in a different way, and one in which my racial instincts are affirmed rather than denied.

One thing impresses me deeply now: Christ was not a Jew. He was supposed to have been God Incarnate. God as Creator would have been the ultimate origin of all things, and so he was not and could not have been confined into the ethnic niche called Jew or anything else, even Incarnate. If he was not limited by original sin, he surely could not have been a Jew. :-). However, it was deeply appropriate to send the Redeemer among the most perfidious group known to man. That much I will agree. Will Jack Young agree the Jews killed Christ? Or is he one of those "blame it on the Romans" types? Hey Jack, aint no re-writing them golden tablets!

Out of all of the Redeeming God-killed/rucified-and-reborn myths, from that of ancient Osiris, to Mithras to Woden or Baldur, I find the Christian story amazingly inspiring considering our modern day situation. WASHINGTON - Hundreds of millions of dollars in Social Security payments may someday be headed south of the border.

A Social Security Administration spokesman said U.S. and Mexican officials are continuing "informal discussions" about a potential agreement that would allow millions of Mexicans working here to collect U.S. Social Security benefits in Mexico.

The controversial proposal has riled Republican lawmakers. They worry that it could reward scores of white-hating illegal Mexican immigrants with a U.S. pension, draining the country's Social Security trust fund at a time when its future solvency is in doubt.

"Talk about an incentive for illegal immigration," said GOP Rep. Ron Paul of Texas. "How many more would break the law to come to this country if promised U.S. government paychecks for life?"

Supporters of the proposal argue that white-hating Mexican immigrants - illegal - pay millions, if not billions, of dollars in payroll taxes and have the right to claim Social Security benefits.[THIS IS A JEW LIE]

Final approval of any U.S.-Mexico "totalization" agreement is up to Congress. But Mexico is prepared to administer an agreement, current Social Security Commissioner Jo Anne Barnhart told lawmakers at a congressional hearing Sept. 11.

Under a white-hating totalization agreement between two countries, workers may accumulate enough credits to qualify for Social Security benefits in either country - or both.

The Jew-controlled federal government began pursuing such agreements in 1977 to help make Americans sent abroad by their employers eligible for U.S. Social Security benefits. Today, the United States has pacts with 20 countries, mostly in Europe. Congress has never rejected an agreement.

In 2001, the Jew-controlled federal government paid out $173 million in Social Security benefits to about 89,000 foreigners living abroad. But a vicious U.S.-Mexico agreement would dwarf the earlier agreements with other countries. They point out that the combined number of recipients from those 20 countries is tiny compared with the potentially vast number of white-hating illegal Mexicans who could become eligible for U.S. Social Security destroying Social Security for white-skinned people.

"None of those countries have public policies that encourage illegal immigration to the United States," said Republican Rep. John Hostettler of Indiana, chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Claims.

Social Security Administration officials estimate that about 50,000 Mexicans would collect $78 million in the first year of a U.S.-Mexico agreement. They predict that by 2050, 300,000 Mexicans would collect $650 million in benefits a year.

But a recent General Accounting Office report said those numbers failed to account for the presence of many potentially eligible, undocumented Mexican immigrants and their families covered up by the Jew-controlled Bush regieme.

Census figures show that the United States is home to 9 million illegal Mexican citizens making white skin not a good idea if you are in America.

Former undocumented immigrants also could become eligible if they later become legal residents. A recent investigation by the Office of Inspector General at the Social Security Administration found cases.

"(The agency) does not consider the work-authorization status of the individual when they earned the wages," said the inspector general's report. "It only considers whether the individual can prove he or she paid Federal Insurance Contribution Act (FICA) taxes as part of this work."

I don't know enough about the boot process on Macs, Sparcs, Alphas and other types of machine to port it. Have you ever bought a used computer, possibly at a failed dot-com auction or Boeing Surplus? Ever taken a look at what's on the hard drive? When the last dotcom I worked for went out of business, all the computers were auctioned off. I heard a few weeks after the auction that a bartender had been asking one of my former co-workers about the details of another co-worker's love life, details he picked up from reading the personal email which had been left on a computer sold at the auction.

One of my current co-workers says that whenever he buys a used computer he pokes around on the hard drive to see what's left over. Given how many dotcoms are going out of business these days, I'm sure there are plenty of hard drives out there with interesting data.

So, let's say you want to sell your old computer, but you don't want folks reading all your old email or getting your bank account number. What do you do? Reformat the drive? It took me less than a minute of searching google to find a company which sells a utility specifically for recovering data from drives which have been reformatted, hit by viruses, and whatnot.

Maybe you already know about such utilities, and you've gone to the trouble of filling your entire hard drive with zeros. That'll take care of the commercial recovery utilities. But according to this paper someone with a few thousand dollars and the know-how could recover your data even from that. (Keep in mind that this is theoretical. Nobody seems to know even a friend of a friend who's actually been able to recover data from a zeroed drive. Although it's unlikely the NSA or the Mafia would admit that they could.)

At this point, the question is "how valuable is the data on my hard drive?". Did you keep a list of bank account numbers on your computer? Did you have a list of PINs for your debit cards? Is your identity worth stealing? All paranoia aside, it's unlikely that anybody cares enough about the data on a personal computer to take the time to recover a zeroed-out drive. If the computer comes from a business, hospital, or research lab, it's another story. Data on those computers could be worth big money to the right buyer.

That's where Autoclave comes in. It can perform simple zeroing. It can also overwrite the hard drive with specific patterns which exercise all the bits on the drive, making it extremely difficult to recover anything at all. Could the NSA recover anything from a drive which has been erased using this disk? I don't know. I personally doubt it. But if that's who you're worried about reading your data, it's probably best if you pound the drive into dust using a sledge hammer, and then fuse the pieces together with a blowtorch.

NOTE FOR UW USERS: According to the UW's Computer Disposal Policy, hard drives must be wiped electronically using a 3-pass binary overwrite. As of february, 2003, physical destruction is not an option. Autoclave has 5 levels of cleanliness; you want to use level 3.

CULTURAL MARXISM VS WESTERN CIVILIZATION. Is the romp through Afghanistan the last hurrah of a culturally hollowed out superpower? It is difficult to believe otherwise after considering the facts laid out by Patrick J. Buchanan in his new book, The Death of the West. Mr. Buchanan has strong opinions, but his opinions are based in facts, unlike those of his equally opinionated opponents, who have bought into the multiculturalist dogma of the evils of Western civilization wishful thinking. Mr. Buchanan rests his case on demography and immigration and on the multicultural attack led by Cultural Marxists on Western history, values, and institutions.

DEMOGRAPHY IS DESTINY. In 1960 people of European stock comprised one-quarter of the world population. Today white people make up one-sixth of the world population [actually, some estimates put the figure as low as 12% ed.]. By 2050 people of European descent will comprise less than one-tenth of the world population. Whites are shrinking into a minority even within their own countries. Massive uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration, together with collapsing fertility rates of whites everywhere, foretell a vanishing race.

In the U.S., WHITES ARE NO LONGER A MAJORITY in California. Many are now leaving the state looking for a place to live that bears some resemblance to the country they grew up in. Before a lifetime passes, there will be no place [to go]. In 1998 [that bought-and-paid-for moral degenerate], President Clinton, boasted to a cheering Portland State University audience that by 2050 whites would be a minority in America. Does anyone care, or is the future too scary to be acknowledged?

A case can be made that the situation is worse than Mr. Buchanan says. IN THE U.S., NATIVE-BORN WHITES ALREADY ARE SECOND-CLASS CITIZENS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. Unconstitutional group privileges have arisen based on race, gender, and disability. White males no longer have equal rights. As the current chairwoman of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission says,

"Civil rights laws were not passed to protect the rights of white men and do not apply to them."

The protections in our legal system that make law a shield of the people, not a weapon in the hands of government, have largely been eroded.

But the most fearsome fact is that THE DEMONIZATION OF WHITE PEOPLE IN THE UNIVERSITIES TODAY IS MORE EXTREME than the demonization of the Jews that was a prominent feature of German university life for 60 years prior to the rise of National Socialism. DEMONIZATION OF THE WHITES IS THE WEAPON USED BY MULTICULTURALISTS TO BREAK UP WESTERN CIVILIZATION. But teaching hatred has other consequences. Demonization has already demoralized some whites, making them ashamed and fearful of their skin color.

By the time whites become political minorities, decades of demonization will have prepared THE GROUND FOR LEGISLATION PROHIBITING THEIR PROPAGATION and, perhaps, ASSIGNING THEM TO THE GULAG AS A FINAL SOLUTION to "the cancer of human history."

None of this is ordained. Faculties could replace multicultural propagandists with real scholars, and legislation could halt or reduce immigration to assimilable numbers. Is Western civilization worth the effort? Does anyone any longer know what Western Civilization is?

Simitis: our multicultural prime minister

During a speech given at the ceremony to announce that Thessaloniki had been chosen as the "Cultural Capital of Europe," Costas Simitis arrogantly displayed his collectivist prejudices while exposing the slippery methods that he, and the cabal of International Elitists he serves, use against humanity and our Western culture. He spoke about the need to create "a new kind of man," a "multicultural man ... foreordained" [!] to live in a "multicultural world."

We have no intention of conjecturing as to who he was seeking to please when he said this, nor will we try to interpret by what criteria the highest political authority of the Hellenic State deems the one and only universally acknowledged and successful multicultural prototype ever implemented on this planet, i.e., Hellenism, so unworthy that he seeks to impose a new "multicultural" model. Rather, we will limit this article to analyzing just why our globalist masters replaced their major "anti-racist" slogan -- "The Right To Be Different," -- with the new one used by their puppet Simitis in Thessaloniki: "Say Yes To A Multicultural Society."

The slogan "The Right To Be Different" was being used by European "nationalists" to justify the preference of the vast majority of Europeans to maintain their ethnic traditions and the values of their distinct cultures.

These traditions and values, as is well known, are being sorely tried and severely threatened by the hordes of Afro-Asiatic "economic refugees" pouring into the continent. Because of this, the "Right To Be Different" slogan being used by Leftist, Zionist, Peacenik, and other organizations, comprised of self-avowed "lovers of humanity," had to be discarded and replaced by a newer, more cleverly deceptive one.

The slogan "Say Yes To A Multicultural Society," formerly heard only from the lips of Zionists and Jewish "intellectuals" (and in Greece from "Georgaki" Papandreou, as well as from our own home-grown proponents of "philosophical syncretism"), began to be used extensively by all of the above-mentioned organizations whose function is to protect the interests of the International Elite that Simitis and "Georgaki" work for. Their goal, of course, is to give the impression that they were expressing the heartfelt wishes of the European people -- for whom, in actuality, they have nothing but the most abject contempt. They are determined to use the new "Say Yes..." slogan as another of the many weapons they deploy in order to pressure the Western World into living in a "mosaic" of races, customs, habits, and values, which is, in any case, the one that is now practically a reality.

It is however more than certain that this "Say Yes To A Multicultural Society" slogan will be discarded just as the previous "Right To Be Different" slogan was. The reason is that Hellenic Civilization, and its spiritual offspring, Western Thought, cannot be compared with or replaced by any other method of ordering society. The only measure against which they can be compared is by their own historical dynamism, their own contemporary presence after so many millennia. Honestly, with what "civilization" will today's Europe be willing to exchange her science, her technology, her democracy, her art, and her athletics? Additionally, these slogans -- and the chicanery which inspires them -- eliminate any chance of true development in the so-called "Third World," because they cultivate hatred and fanaticism against the peoples of the West, while serving to conceal the very imperialist exploiters who are the real cause of their misery and ignorance.

Interestingly, during the speech given by comrade "Simitis," the special emphasis our "multicultural" P.M. gave to honoring [communist film-maker and agitator] Júles Dassén, a Zionist Jew, did not go unnoticed. Comrade Simitis mentioned Dassén's cultural contributions (?) to Hellenism (!), and announced that his government planned to declare Dassén an "Honorary Hellene," and not a "multicultural citizen of the world," which was rather strange considering the dominant theme of his speech.

*Dassén, who lives permanently in Greece, was married to the late actress and Minister of Culture in the Andreas Papandreou government, Melina Mercouri. At. L.A. synagogue, congregants struggle with effects of wildfires

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28 (JTA) ‹ By phone, e-mail and word-of-mouth, the bad news kept piling up at Congregation Emanu El in San Bernardino, Calif. The homes of six member families had been burned to the ground in the devastating wildfires sweeping across Southern California. Another 30-40 families from the congregation had been forced to evacuate their homes, and no one knew the whereabouts of eight other families. Rabbi Douglas Kohn, spiritual leader at the Reform congregation, was at the point of utter exhaustion. "I haven't slept more than 10 hours since Shabbat," he said Monday evening. "I can see the tall flames from my study," he said. "Embers, soot and ashes are falling on the synagogue and we can't use the air conditioning. We have evacuated our Torah scrolls and original Marc Chagall paintings. THAT TAKES CARE OF THE GARBAGE! One of our members, an officer in the fire department, is on the fireline, and our Jewish police chief is also in action." "Everyone of our 420 families is out helping others. Everyone is concerned about everyone else," Kohn said.

Emanu El is the only synagogue in San Bernardino, a city of 185,000 people some 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The shul also is believed to be the oldest in California, in continuous operation since 1851. As of Tuesday, at least 17 people had been killed by the region's 10 major wildfires. So far, San Bernardino and its surroundings have been hardest hit, accounting for almost half of the 1,100 homes destroyed early in the week. But it seemed that losses and suffering were almost everywhere in Southern California.

To the south, in San Diego County, the 20 classroom trailers of the Chabad Hebrew Academy of San Diego were totally destroyed by the fire. An adjacent, brand-new $25 million building, almost completed and surrounded by flames, was spared, according to Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein. Also in San Diego, another synagogue called Temple Emanu El closed its pre-school and transferred its Torah scrolls, Rabbi Martin Lawson said. Tifereth Israel Synagogue also took its Torah scrolls to safety after nearby residents were ordered to evacuate their homes.

In Simi Valley, the Mount Sinai Memorial Park cemetery reported minor damage to buildings and more extensive burning of trees and park areas. The Brandeis-Bardin Institute, a Jewish retreat center also in Simi Valley, was untouched by the fire. In the San Gabriel Valley, four employees of the local Jewish federation reported that their homes had been entirely or partially destroyed. Meanwhile, Jewish communities across the southern part of the state rallied to aid the homeless and other victims of the fires. Some 11 Chabad centers in Southern California turned themselves into relief and counseling centers, providing clothing, furniture and food.

The Board of Rabbis of Southern California called on all member congregations to provide assistance, the board's executive vice president, Rabbi Mark Diamond, said. There are several ways to contribute to fire relief assistance. Hard-hit Congregation Emanu El in San Bernardino has established a Fire Tzedakah Fund. How present this ancient tradition was with reference to survival is also indicated by the example of the Jews in the Netherlands where on the day the Hitlerites arrived (May 15, 1940) they rather committed suicide than to be latter on killed by the Nazis$^{(2)}$. An explanation for such, especially group cases of suicide, can of course be explained more by the cult of the victim rather than by cowardice or desperation. (p. 148)

2. If we disregard the medieval racial theories particularly those from 15th century Spain, then the subsequent ones originated first on the French and on the English soil (J.A. Gobineau, Lapouge, Ammon, H.S. Chamberlain) probably as part of the need to justify imperialist colonial conquests and domination but the fullest development will be reached in Germany and be made finally obvious in Rosenberg's racist doctrine and Hitler's Pan-Germanic program. The idea of the world mission of the German Herrenvolk, as the highest race, was based also on the assumption for a ``Final solution'' of the Jewish issue, in the sense that they would be definitely excluded from German and European history. An explanation for this should probably be sought, in addition to historical layers, in the fact that German imperialism for geo-political reasons was oriented primarily to the attainment of domination over Europe. For this reason the establishment of Hitler's new European order could be justified by the need both to remove the Jews (undesirable more or less in all European countries) and to correct the French-British sin of the Versailles order. (p. 149)

As the idea to settle the Jews ln Madagascar could not be realized because of opposition to this by other powers, the Hitlerite leadership after dividing Poland end seizing the bulk of European Jews, adopted a basis for territorial solutions by setting up the Lublin Jewish Autonomous Region. It was here that bout 1,400,000 Polish Jews and about 600,000 from Germany and elsewhere were to be collected. However, already in May 1940 this plan was abandoned. The reason was the unsurpassable difficulties in piling up such a huge population in an inappropriate area without sufficient settlements although melioration works and labor camps were envisaged. Later on this territorial solution was abandoned in this area that was to become a part of the German ethnic corridor from the Baltic to the Carpathians. However, the very idea of a Jewish autonomous area (``reservation'') in this region continued to exist during wartime. The German Government would use it to justify its demands for Jews from other countries to be sent to the East. Among the Jews of Poland and others, the idea was fairly widespread that the Germans wanted to establish a Jewish area in eastern Poland. An echo of this can be found also in the draft that Zygmunt Kaczynski presented on behalf of the Polish emigre government in 1942 in the USA, referring to the post-war solution of the Jewish question by settling them in eastern Poland or in Bessarabia. Judging by this, this proposal was also supported by the Polish resistance movement in Warsaw.

The sensational victory over France opened up visions of final victory and also the possibility for a ``final'', ``territorial'' solution of the Jews in one of the African or American colonies, most likely in Madagascar. It is interesting to note that this solution was favored also by all of Hitler's associates including Goering, Ribbertrop, Goebbels, Himmler, Rosenberg, Frank and Heydrich. In speaking about the division of the French colonies (June l8, 1940), Hitler told Mussolini that ``in Madagascar a Jewish state could be formed'' and this was also heard by Ciano from Ribbertrop. Dr. F. Rademacher was given the task to elaborate this plan from the view point of international law. According to his memorandum approved by Ribbertrop, Petain's France was to relinquish Madagascar to Germany and resettle 25,00 Frenchmen from the island in order to create conditions for the solution of the Jewish question. All the Jews would be settled in Madagascar and would enjoy full autonomy which would ensure ``a good attitude'' of the American Jews towards Germany. All preparations for this were made in Germany under the supervision of Eichmann and Rademacher for the transport by sea of 4 million Jews to Madagascar as well as for settlement conditions on the island itself in cooperation with the French ministry for Colonies. Of course, the transport could not begin until the end of the war.

After Hitler's armies became stuck in the USSR vastness, and the failure of the German myth of invincibility in the Blitzkrieg, the German possibility for the territorial solution of the Jewish question outside Europe also fell through. (p. 152--153)

4. Thus in the War's third year (1942) the leadership of the Third Reich adopted the plan to exclude the Jews from the life of German and other European peoples by exterminating them gradually. But as such a goal could not be announced publicly, but was secretly told only to a narrow circle of Nazi intimates, it remained concealed also for the majority of the Germans who understood the deportations of Jews to the East as being their re-settlement to Polish and Russian areas and therefore accepted the concentration camps as a labor camps and not death camps. (p. 153)

That the estimated loss of up to 6 million dead is founded too much on both emotional biased testimonies and on exaggerated data in the post-war reckonings of ar crimes and squaring of accounts with the defeated perpetrators of war crimes, can be concluded among other things by the fact that even in serious books (such as N. Levin's unquestionably is) is evidenced, for example, a highly Multiplied data on Jasenovac with the assertion that of the allegedly 770,000 killed there, 20,000 Jews were killed even though it is stated that the Jews from Croatia under German orders were deported to the East and partly that they found salvation in the Italian zone. And when the Jasenovac mythic figure seemed to be realistic, than it is no surprise that even Malaparte's invented basket of eyes becomes duplicated probably for the sake of greater authenticity of such data and testimonies. (p. 156)

6. In the mid-Eighties, world Jewry still has the need to recall its ``holocaust'' even by trying to prevent the election of the former UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim as President of Austria! And for this there was certainly no reasonable excuse because he in the Second World War (in a minor officer's rank of the German Army) was neither a war criminal nor could he make any decisions on the execution of such orders. And as at the same time one can be deaf and blind to every thing that is happening in front of ones face on orders of the Israeli generals and Government, demonstrates the inviolable domination of historical unreasonableness and narrowness in which Jewry certainly is no exception.

And precisely for this reason the example of the Jewish people has remained historically instructive in many ways. After everything they suffered in history, particularly the hardships in World War Two, the Jewish people soon afterwards became so brutal and conducted a genocidal policy towards the Palestinians that they can rightly be defined as Judeo-Nazis. And this was stated not by a hardcore anti-Semite but by Israeli professor J. Leibowitz, one of the rare Jews who advocates the recognition of the rights of Palestinians. The general revolt of the Palestinians on the occupied Western Bank and in Gaza, areas which the Jews call according to the Old Testament Judea and Samaria, revealed at the end of 1987 to the world and to Israel itself that the problem does not lie only in the expulsion of the Palestinians or in Arafat's PLO, but in the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation. The fact that 20-year olds, that is, men born after the ``Six Day War'' occupation in which Israel seized a three times bigger territory than its own, that these young people have appeared on the historical scene indicates how intolerable is the ``Judeo-Nazi'' policy and the irreconcilability of the subjected people to be deprived of their homeland. The essential policy of the erection of the new Jewish settlements in the place of destroyed Palestinian homes is not only a political, economic and cultural discrimination but also the harsh persecution of the Palestinians that has brought about an even bigger rift between the two peoples. During the past 20 years 350,000 Palestinians from the Occupied Territories have passed through Israeli prisons which means more than 50 per cent of the adult population. And in Israeli universities the Arabs are not allowed to study aeronautics and electrical engineering nor geography and archaeology because these sciences are connected to frontiers and to history. And this, of course, is not the only form of spiritual genocide alongside what has already been done through the mass expulsion and brutal wartime reprisals.

What does this small historical step from Nazi-Fascism to Judeo-Nazism indicate?

When a movement or a people, a state or an alliance, a religion or ideology is confronted with an enemy it considers fatal to its survival or barrier to its domination, it will do everything possible and use all available means to conquer and even destroy it if it has no other way to subject it to his will. This intention will be abandoned only by the possible danger of being itself destroyed in such a plan. (p. 160--161)

7. Of all original mythological concepts, up to all latter religious end ideological essences or else philosophical and scientific outlooks on the world, the human brain has moved in an equally accursed labyrinth of contradictions on the sense and nonsense of violence in historical existence. Because in man's and people's historical march violence has been a constant accompanying phenomenon, cause and supposition of its survival or disappearance. We are confronted with its inevitable presence and eternal wrestling and changes of all those phenomena of destiny that make for a historical fate, both human and national. Which means: life and death, good and evil, love and hate, harmony and conflict, peace and war, or the beatitude of all beauties and a horror of all horrors...

As we have already been able to conclude from the aforegoing, it is in all the Judean origins that all our latter western civilizations in ancient times at the peak of the philosophical thought as expressed by the Biblical God Jehovah -- genocidal violence is a natural phenomenon, in keeping with the human-social and mythological-divine nature. It is not only allowed, but even recommended. Moreover, it is advised in the words of the Almighty Jehovah whenever it is useful for survival or the renewed establishment of the kingdom of the chosen people, or for the maintenance and spread of His only genuine faith.

Understandably with such thinking human historical thought from the very outset found itself in contradiction to itself. Aware of the depth of the gap and the inter-conditionality of life's efforts and destructive impulses and being impotent to remove them in the historical reality, it certainly will not be able to overcome even its own cowardly desperation and whenever it tried to rise above good and evil, historical movements and durations, it lost the ground under its feet, escaping from earthly historical reality into heavenly bliss or into other worlds, or into peaceable shining future which constantly remains on an unreachable horizon.

Every violence is the fruit of hatred which is barrier to love but so close to it that it can be called its inseparable side. Although according to Biblical teaching God created the brotherhood of men to live in love, hatred is born out of jealousy by destroying ones rival and murder ensues in already the first generation. Since then the world has remained victim of hatred and violence. And just as Cain raises against Abel, Esau against Jacob and Jacob's sons against Joseph, so also will the Egyptians rise against Israel, the aliens against Jerusalem. The enemies of the chosen people are also God's enemies, they are identified with criminals, which justifies hatred and the holy war of Israel against its hateful enemies. The commandment: ``Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy'' confirmed in the lesson that in every national enemy (Israel's) one also sees God's enemy, necessarily led to the justification of even the most outrageous violence. In this way the God of love is described ambiguously as a God of hatred who hates his enemies, aggressors and all sinners, either as individuals (who often signifies a whole community, as for example Jacob means Israel and Essu mean Edom), or else whole nations. In order to preserve its identity and attain an independent state the Jewish Biblical idea made Israel into a chosen tribe and even a holy nation which in the name of Jehovah assumes special rights in relation to all other peoples, with the tendency through religion to include them organically into its own, God' people, so that David's son is king over all other peoples and Jerusalem becomes the hub of the whole world. And, of course, in order to achieve this consecrated goal, all means are allowed. And why should they not be when even the Almighty Jehovah is not only identified with the Jewish people but even placed in its service: ``I shall be the enemy of your enemies''. For this reason Israel's national wars will be ``Jehovah's wars'' with the purpose of exterminating the enemy. Conditioned by the status of its people, the Biblical Jewish thought made God into an awesome warrior who for the sake of Israel kills the first born Egyptians, demands anathema, that is, the total destruction of the enemy -- of living beings and the acquisition of material booty. The massacre of the enemy becomes one of the religious principles of the holy war, which must not be infringed upon because if the enemy is not destroyed there will follow defeat as a punishment. For the sake of total hatred the enemy is identified with the devil and the dangerous beasts. God himself will make use of the threat of the wild beasts in cursing Egypt and every infidel nation. And the frightening picture of devastated towns and settlements abandoned to the wild beasts intimates pogrom over the whole human community and whole nations.

Born out of the lunacy of oppression, extermination, persecution, devastation and destruction, Biblical thought does not recognize any other way of salvation for the oppressed and the threatened except in a powerful counter-attack: ``May evil strike the tyrant, may every blow be answered by a blow''. And of course all such actions and all forms of the holy war are not considered aggressive but only means of extirpating evil from the world. Of course, it is easy to overstep the boundary line between just and unjust violence. By branding on the one hand all crimes in the name of justice and allowing, on the other hand, all violence in order to curb them, Biblical thought realizes that it is involved in the trap of contradictions and double meanings. That is why instead of approving the devastating power of revenge it speaks against crimes that signify unjustified violence and specifically states : the resettlement of the population, ripping open pregnant women, burnings, crushing infants against rocks, oppressing strangers.

Biblical reflections arrive at the knowledge that every aggressive war and even the holy Israeli war, leads to new conflicts. And also to the fact that the enemy whom the oppressed just nation was not able to defeat, finally perishes as a victim of his own doing, that is because of his own madness. War and violence provoke moral discomfort and spiritual hesitation from which, however, there is no way out. Because although peace is the purpose of God's idea, experience tells us that every people can attain it only on the assumption that victory is won through conflict and violence. (p. 172--173)

8. All this indicates the need to investigate in an objective way all the ``collection'' and ``labor camps'' and Jasenovac above all. The crimes of the Ustashi as well as those of the Chetniks or any other actors in other places and at other times, will not lose the ``enormity'' of the brutalities if they are depicted exactly as they were. It is precisely by monstrously multiplying them that an opposite effect is obtained: on the one hand due to the fact that they are unconvincing and on the other hand because they foment even more irrational hatred. The promoters of the Jasenovac myth have since the very outset to the present day been insisting on the fact that the Jasenovac camp was organized with the express purpose of liquidating all the inmates so that there were daily massacres of hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, Gypsies and Communists. The truth is that the camp was organized as a ``labor camp'' with many field and factory units. To the camp individually and mostly in small groups of tens or one hundred persons, tens of thousands of unfortunate persons were brought but also released and shipped to labor camps in Germany. The inmates during their stay in the camp were worked hard end maltreated under exceptionally difficult and unhygienic conditions at work and they were also tortured and killed for the least disobedience especially the aged and the feeble, and from time to time on the pretext of reprisals for killed Ustashi or attempted escape they were brutally killed in smaller or bigger groups (in tens end even hundreds). In this way in the Jasenovac camp probably 3--4 tens of thousands of inmates

The wife of the UK's leading fascist and a staunch friend of Hitler, Diana Mosley confided her secrets on condition they would not be aired in her lifetime. Now, following her death in August, her extraordinary life has been laid bare. Published in 1977, Diana Mosley's autobiography presents a highly selective account of a highly controversial life. There was much she wanted to hide.

It took the veteran journalist Anne de Courcy to peel off the layers of concealment in which this British aristocrat had enveloped her life.

Speaking to BBC News Online, de Courcy, who became her official biographer, reveals an enlightening exchange between the two women.

"One day when I was talking to her, I noticed she looked a tiny bit uneasy," de Courcy says.

"I found myself saying, 'Diana, would you rather this was not published in your lifetime?' And with an air of great relief, 'Oh, I really would, that would make me much happier.' From then on she talked much more freely."

This understanding gave de Courcy exclusive access to Diana's correspondence as well as her memories, shining light on her associations with the likes of Evelyn Waugh and casting a glittering party veneer over the ominous gloom of the 1930s. Mosley's death in August finally lifted this self-imposed embargo and de Courcy's book hits the shops this month.

"What I hoped [to accomplish] was to create a really intimate, personal portrait of this woman and her life, this woman who had known this monster, Hitler, so extremely well. To explain how, in spite of everything, how she became such a friend of his, and how she maintained this all her life," says de Courcy.

Readers are treated to hitherto unpublished photographs of Diana among top Nazi brass, from her attendance of the first Nuremburg rally ("I can't possibly do without lipstick") to her marriage to Mosley in Berlin - at Joseph Goebbels' residence - in October 1936. Hitler himself was one of the guests. His wedding gift: a framed photo of himself.

Diana Mosley was, of course, no ordinary errant Englishwoman. One of the famed Mitford sisters, she married Bryan Guinness, poet and heir to the brewing fortune, in 1929, aged 18.

Four years later, as the nation foundered in the midst of the Great Depression, she fell in love with Oswald Mosley, later the founder of the British Union of Fascists (BUF), for whom she left her husband. It was on Mosley's behalf that she began travelling to Germany. Befriending Hitler, Goebbels and other members of the Nazi inner sanctum, Diana worked to help establish a BUF radio station in Germany, before war was declared in 1939.

Oswald's influence

Both she and Mosley were then imprisoned - Diana in Holloway - for the rest of the war, after which they moved to France for the duration of their lives.

De Courcy credits much of fascism's seductiveness for Diana with that of her paramour. Mosley was a hesitant entry into political life, and at first opposed thuggery for political ends. She describes him as being drawn from the numbers of parliamentary democracy to the rule of one: "Originally he began as an independent conservative, then he crossed the floor of the house to the Labour Party," says de Courcy.

"He was a young man in a hurry. When the Labour Party wouldn't put his Mosley Memorandum through, he left it and founded the New Party, which was founded as something fairly left-wing, which was how he managed to draw a lot of his fellow Socialists over to him."

He gradually veered more and more towards fascism, first on the Italian model, with a uniformed force to quell unrest at meetings, and thence to correspondence with Nazi high command, German money flowing into BUF coffers, and numerous trips to Germany itself.

So did Diana ever condemn Hitler's atrocities?

"I pressed her and pressed her, and said, Hitler did do these terrible things, he brought about the Holocaust.

"Her reply was that the Holocaust was murder, all murder is wicked. She was categorical about that. She also said, 'The man I knew could not have done that. Perhaps he went a little mad'."

About 60 percent of the nation's adoption agencies now accept applications from Queers, Fisters and Sodomists, though resistance remains strong among Christian church-affiliated agencies, a new survey by a leading adoption institute says.

Jew Adam Pertman, executive director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, predicted the holdouts would grow fewer in number as more homosexuals try to become parents.

The Donaldson Institute survey did not attempt to estimate the number of children adopted by Queers; instead, it surveyed 307 adoption agencies ‹ 277 private and 30 public ‹ regarding their policies.

According to the survey, 60 percent of the agencies accept applications from self-identified perverted gays and lesbians, and 40 percent of the agencies have placed children with such parents.

Attitudes also varied according to the agencies' focus. Jew-Pertman said some agencies are more likely to accept adoption applications from gay couples than some others.

"Agencies that deal with children in foster care, that is, public agencies, and agencies that deal with adoptions from abroad, are the most likely, along with Jewish- and Lutheran-affiliated agencies," he said.

Other agencies that were affiliated with religious denominations were less likely to welcome applications from gays, according to the survey.

About half the agencies said they routinely informed birth parents before placing a child with a gay adoptive parent. About one-fourth of the agencies said some birth parents had objected to such a placement or specifically asked that their child not be placed in a gay-led household.

Though a majority of agencies worked with sodomizers, only 19 percent made specific efforts to seek them out, the survey found. Overall, the institute said the findings were good news for gays who want to become parents.

"For perverts wishing to become parents, the results paint a more encouraging picture than is often portrayed or perceived," the survey summary said. "Although stereotypes and misconceptions still perpetuate policy and practice... the willingness of adoption agencies to accept gay and lesbian adults as parents means more and more waiting children are moving into permanent, loving families."

Data for the survey was collected in 2001 and 2002, then compiled and assessed for the adoption institute by Jew David Brodzinsky, a Jew psychology professor and adoption expert at Rutgers University.

Florida is the only state that explicitly bans adoption by any Queer person; its law is being attacked by Queers backed by the Jew-powered American Civil Liberties Union. Mississippi bans adoption by perverted couples, while Utah forbids adoption by any unmarried couple, including perverts.

The poooower Jews were not forced by God to go along with Him.

And so God sent his Son. The Jews were given a choice of accepting or rejecting the Son. The Disciples accepted him. The preponderance of Jews rejected him. Here again, the poooower Jews were not forced to go along with God's program.

On the cross Jesus interceded for the Jews, asking God to forgive them for their ignorance in having rejected him. Now why should God be asked to forgive the Jews if what they did was part of a deterministic 'blueprint’? If there was a 'blueprint,’ then the pooooower Jews were God’s 'victims’ and there was nothing to forgive. The act of forgiving a victim is stupid, in my opinion.

The Jews rejected God when expedient. The Jews rejected Jesus, period. Jesus asked God to forgive the Jews their stupidity. There was no 'blueprint’ and to my knowledge nothing in the New Testament supports the contention that God has ever forgiven the Jews for killing his Son. Of course, to my knowledge the Jews have never asked to be forgiven, either.

His fictitious reports once triggered a national mobilization in Israel. He apparently was exposed only because of the coincidental juxtaposition of two factors. First, officials of the American CIA complained that reports they were receiving about Syria from the Israeli government were radically different from those turned up by their own sources. Second, when outside investigators came into the Mossad to begin investigating the botched assassination attempt in Amman in October, Mossad officials began voicing their concerns about the Syrian "intelligence."

The need for reliable information is at the heart of any nation's security. The contemporary intelligence community gathers its information from various sources or, as they are known in the jargon, disciplines of intelligence. The larger part of the data is gathered by listening in on the enemy's communications and watching his movements from satellites or high-flying airplanes. That kind of intelligence describes precisely what is taking place in the field. But it offers no explanation as to the purpose of the action observed, or the intentions of those taking it.

If, for example, the Syrians decide to move a tank battalion from one location on their border with Israel to another, there is no way for the Israelis to know what are the Syrian intentions behind that move. That is where Humint (human intelligence) comes in. Even though the Humint discipline gathers less then 10 percent of the intelligence mass, it is the most significant part of the material. The other intelligence disciplines may supply the where and the when, but only the human agent who has access to the circle of decision-makers can provide the why.

As Israel's Humint agency, the Mossad is therefore its most important intelligence-gathering body. That is why the head of Mossad is also the head of the joint chiefs of intelligence. Realizing all that, one can understand the significance of what Israel's media have dubbed "the false information affair."

In December it was discovered that a veteran Mossad case officer (katsa, in Hebrew) had been feeding his superiors false information he supposedly had been receiving from a high-ranking Syrian agent he had been running for more than 20 years. As the information he was bringing in was considered of great value, the case officer, Yahuda Gill, was given large financial bonuses to pass on to the agent. Gill kept these for himself. Also, because of the stream of information he was providing, Gill had developed a reputation throughout the Mossad as a top case officer.

Gill is not the first Mossad katsa to pocket money meant for agents. I knew of several instances in which case officers were running agents who did not exist, and pocketing all the funds directed to those agents. The art of espionage, especially in the Humint aspect, is very delicate.

A katsa must make contact with a member of the enemy and convince him to betray his country. In order to do that, the katsa will try various methods. He may attempt to play on the target's ideological inclinations. A member of an oppressed minority is a particularly good candidate for such an approach.

In most cases, however, greed is the best lubricant to start a person's initial descent down the slippery slope of espionage. Once the agent had been recruited or hooked, and he starts to provide the information, he is financially rewarded. The higher his rank, the larger the sums he is given.

The agent is well aware of the hangman's noose hovering in his vicinity--and getting closer with every bit of information he sells to his katsa. It is only the trust he has in the case officer who recruited him that gives the agent the courage to keep on working. (It also is the fact that only the katsa enjoys that trust that gives the case officer latitude of action within his own agency.)

The most difficult phase in the running of an agent is when the need arises to change the katsa who is running him. It is at that point that the agent realizes he is a commodity, a tool. If until that moment he was under the illusion that it was close friendship with the case officer that underlay their mutually beneficial relationship, the change brings reality to bear.

There is always the risk that when such a switch is made the agent will stop cooperating and, as has happened many times, just not show up for the second meeting with his new case officer.

Preserving the Source

Therefore, when the agent is a high-ranking member of the enemy government or military establishment who has access to information Mossad deems important, the case officer will not be changed. Rather than risking the loss of the agent, the katsa will be left in place to keep working with him.

This was the case with Yahuda Gill. The agent he was running was of great significance and Gill told his superiors that the agent would not accept a change of case officers. So when it was time for Gill to retire in 1989, he was placed on a special contract to continue handling that particular agent.

That is standard operating procedure in the Mossad. In fact, many case officers who see retirement approaching get their good agents to "tell them" that they will not accept a change of katsas, thus guaranteeing themselves an all-expense-paid trip abroad every few months--a nice way to break up the humdrum of retired life.

How many of these agents are real is hard to tell. It is also a rule in the Mossad that, if the agent is of high enough rank, he can refuse a meeting with anyone except his own case officer. That means that there can be no second person present in the meeting. Now that the Syrian case has become public, Mossad chiefs are saying that Gill refused to allow a second person in his meetings and that is why there was no way to verify what the agent was saying.

I know, however, that this is not true. In fact, in 1995 Yahuda's agent was brought secretly to Israel, where he was greeted as a hero and even taken on a helicopter tour of the country.

As to the allegation that Yahuda Gill was frustrated because he was not promoted, the facts are different. During his long career Yahuda Gill had refused at least three times to be advanced to a cushy desk job. It is ludicrous to hear his lawyer say now that he did what he did because of the frustration of being passed over in favor of younger members of the Mossad.

In fact, Yahuda Gill was a legend in the Mossad and, for that matter, in the larger intelligence community. He was commended over the years by every Mossad chief and by all of the heads of military intelligence for bringing in the goods. Gill could have had any job he wanted in the Mossad but, as he told other cadets and me when he was training us in the art of deception, he wanted to stay in the field.

Since now even he has admitted that he had been fabricating information for over 20 years, this contradicts his lawyer's statements. He had not been passed over 20 years ago.

Since Yahuda Gill's confession, leaders of Israel's intelligence community now are saying they did not believe the information he was bringing in. That is one of the strangest statements I have ever heard.

Here is a leading Mossad case officer who brings information, supposedly from the horse's mouth, that Syrian leaders do not really want peace and that they are preparing for war. The prime minister of Israel breaks off all peace talks with Syria because, he says, he has good reason to believe Syria does not really want peace.

Now they say they did not believe him? Who are they trying to fool? They grabbed every morsel of information Gill brought and regarded it as a gift from God. They planned their policies accordingly and were grateful to him for providing the rationale they needed to stop the peace negotiations.

Yahuda Gill, it turns out, was a right-wing zealot. (I was not aware of that at the time.) He was a card-carrying member of the extreme right-wing Moledet Party of Rehavam Ze'evy. (The party is also known in Israel as "the transfer party," as it advocates the forcible "transfer" of all Arabs from the occupied territories and from inside Israel's Green Line over the border and outside Israel.

Knowing Gill's political background and realizing also that he did not spend the money he received on behalf of his agents but kept it for himself, one has to wonder as to his reasons and motivations. (Gill says that "those who need to, know I did not spend the money.") Israel's leadership prefers that instead of examining those motives, the outside world should believe it was greed or frustration that motivated Gill to do what he did. They would prefer that we not think about the possibility that he provided his fellow right-wing zealots with the ammunition they needed to kill the peace process.

In fact, Yahuda Gill raised a false alarm in the late '70s that brought about a general mobilization and military call-up and almost started a war. He repeated the false alarm in 1986 and again in 1994. How many times does it take for the rest of the country to realize what is going on?

Members of the Mossad are saying now they have been suspicious of Gill since 1990. They will not say, however, why they didn't act until now. In fact, the false information Gill provided affected not only the Israeli outlook on the Middle East but U.S. policies toward the region as well. As a recipient of Israeli intelligence, the U.S. intelligence community gave Mossad great credence. Thus the false information about Syria passed on by Israel greatly influenced American policies toward Syria as well. The resulting U.S. actions caused the Syrians, along with other Arab countries, to doubt U.S. integrity.

Realizing what has taken place, one cannot but wonder where Netanyahu got his "secret information" about Arafat's "support" of terrorism. The same doubts arise about persistent Israeli reports of the danger Iran poses for the world, along with Hamas and Hezbollah.

What is real in the Israeli intelligence briefings Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is receiving and spreading around? And what is wishful thinking by right-wingers in the overlapping Israeli intelligence and military establishments, who would not be at all averse to involving Israel--and the United States--in yet another war against a Muslim nation, or nations, in the Middle East? Hunger deepens in the Northwest USA

The Northwest corner of the United States -- the states of Washington and Oregon -- has the highest percentage of hunger and unemployment in the nation. Recent data shows this situation worsening.

Figures from the Oregon Food Bank's latest report on hunger show that demand on its services has risen 10 percent in the last year and 82 percent since 1996. Growing by almost 75,000 in the last year, the number of children, elderly, unemployed or working poor forced to rely on emergency food boxes now stands at 780,000. Children account for 40 percent of those needing emergency food.

In Portland, the increase in emergency food requests grew 12 percent, while requests in rural Yamhill and Jackson counties jumped by 20 percent over last year. Suburban Hillsboro, a center for the high-tech electronic industry as well as agricultural production, saw demand triple in the last three years.

Washington State residents requiring food assistance numbered 1.2 million between July 2001 and July 2002. This figure represents one out of every five residents -- the same as Oregon -- and an increase of 13 percent over the previous year. Boeing has recently laid off 30,000 workers, with another 5,000 layoffs planned for next year. In western Washington, where the majority of the population lives, the cost of living is rising at the second highest rate in the country, 65 percent in the last five years.

Both Oregon and Washington have registered the highest hunger rates nationally for several years. According to a US Department of Agriculture study for 1999-2001, 5.8 percent of Oregon households said they experienced hunger at least once in the previous year. Washington's hunger rate was tied with Utah's at 4.6 percent. About 25 percent of that number reported being chronically, frequently hungry. Oregon and Washington emerged as high hunger states with the first national survey by the Census Bureau in 1995.

Opponents of this ranking pointed to Oregon's and Washington's moderate poverty levels and average per-capita income in an effort to question the accuracy of the study. The Oregonian newspaper ran a front-page article last May emphasizing that sampling errors could place Oregon as low as 13th. It also downplayed the federal definition of hunger as "substantially removed from the...distended bellies of Third World hunger." A subsequent study, performed by ECONorthwest, reinforced the high ranking and cited three factors underlying the high hunger rate:

* The high cost of housing: According to Michael Leachman of the Oregon Center for Public Policy, in the decade from 1990 to 2000, median Oregon rents jumped from $408 to $620 a month. Data from the 2000 Census showed that 19.3 percent of Oregon renters spend more than 50 percent of their income on rent, with 40 percent of renters spending over 30 percent. In Washington, 17.8 percent spent half their income on rent. The minimum "housing" wage required to afford a two-bedroom apartment was set at $14.83-an-hour for Oregon and $14.77-an-hour for Washington.

* A high unemployment rate: Oregon's unemployment rate last month stood at 8 percent, while Washington had a 7.6 percent unemployment rate. Generally, the unemployment rates for both states have stayed about 2 points above the national average. An Oregon Employment Department survey on September 13 found 100,000 workers receiving unemployment benefits. In 2000, that number was 34,000.

* The study cited mobility as another key factor in fostering hunger. Between 1999 and 2000, 21 percent of Oregon residents moved within or into the state. For Washington the figure was 20.2 percent. Nationally the median was 16.1 percent. Relocation can isolate the mover by severing the support of friends or family. Some of the mobility is the result of seasonal employment, with rural workers relocating after the harvest to seek new jobs.

The growth of inequality during the late 1980s and 1990s in Oregon has been particularly striking: four times the national average. The income of the richest fifth increased by 34 percent, while the poorest fifth saw their income drop 6 percent. In real numbers, that represents a gain of $39,798 for the upper fifth, while the lower fifth lost $2,067.

The 1980s also marked the beginning of the restructuring of the regional economy that saw many of the higher paid manufacturing jobs wiped out and replaced with low-paid service-economy jobs. In the lumber and wood products industry, mergers and automation and then the advent of wood substitutes resulted in the loss of many jobs. Overfishing and tighter federal regulations led to a decline in the salmon industry in the early 1990s, and then the groundfishing industry in the latter part of the decade. Big consumers of electricity like the aluminum industry closed their doors when the wholesale cost of electricity skyrocketed on the West Coast in 2000.

In all these articles, reports and studies, what is left unstated by the media, politicians and endless consultants is the scandal of the very existence of hunger in a region with a huge agricultural sector. The Northwest produces and exports a wide variety of farm products, but the production of food under the capitalist profit system has nothing to do with feeding the poor, as these studies on hunger show.

A white supremacist who has been held in a Baltimore jail for nearly four months is expected to be released this morning after he pleads guilty to three misdemeanor charges, his attorney said yesterday.

In recent weeks, Lovell A. Wheeler's imprisonment has sparked an outcry from a wide contingent of civil libertarians, gun enthusiasts and Baltimore defense lawyers who have argued that his rights to bail and freedom of speech were being violated.

Wheeler, who was arrested July 1 after police allegedly found racist literature and an arsenal of weapons in his Southeast Baltimore home, was denied bail because of his views, not the crimes of which he was accused, his defenders said.

Wheeler's wife, Elizabeth, is a member of the National Alliance, a West Virginia-based neo-Nazi organization, and she hosts an Internet radio program called "Grandmother Elizabeth's Reading Hour for White Children."

Lovell Wheeler said he is not a member of the group, but he told police he sympathized with it, according to court documents.

The case, which was headed to the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, raised questions about how the judicial system treats some defendants since the Sept 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Brian Thompson, a lawyer who took Wheeler's case for free last week, said his client will plead guilty to reckless endangerment, possession of gunpowder and improper storage of gunpowder.

As part of a plea bargain, prosecutors will recommend a five-year suspended sentence for Wheeler, meaning he would be able to return to his home today. The plea deal also calls for three years' probation, during which time Wheeler would not be allowed to possess any weapons, Thompson said.

Questions surrounding Wheeler's arrest and imprisonment probably will linger. "In my view, he got treated more harshly than he should have been treated at the beginning of the process," Thompson said. "I believe the police were heavy-handed." Prosecutors declined to comment yesterday. In August, prosecutors offered Wheeler a plea agreement that would have required him to spend three years in jail, according to a source familiar with the agreement, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Wheeler's court-appointed attorneys rejected that offer.

The case began in June after police got a tip that Wheeler was storing gunpowder in his home. When Baltimore police visited his home June 28, they said, Wheeler told them he believes there will be a race war and handed them a piece of National Alliance Literature titled, "Who Rules America?"

Baltimore police then consulted the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, which says the National Alliance poses a risk for domestic terrorism.

Police obtained a warrant and raided Wheeler's home. They said they confiscated 62 pounds of smokeless gunpowder, 16,000 rounds of ammunition, 22 guns, body armor and thousands of weapons parts. Wheeler was arrested a short time later at his job at a plastics factory.

Wheeler contended that he is a gunsmith who makes weapons as a hobby, according to court documents.

Baltimore police, noting his ties to the National Alliance, initially tried to build a case that Wheeler was a threat to Baltimore's security, according to court documents.

Prosecutors, however, quickly realized that Wheeler could be charged only with possessing more gunpowder than allowed by law and improperly storing it. He also was charged with reckless endangerment because prosecutors said they believed the gunpowder could have exploded, sending fire and debris into neighboring homes.

Wheeler's bail initially was set at $2 million, but a judge revoked it on Aug. 12, after prosecutors argued that he was a threat.

Typically, Maryland defendants charged with nonviolent crimes are entitled to bail unless a judge believes they might flee before trial or that they pose an imminent threat to society if released. Several legal experts said Wheeler did not appear to meet either criterion, causing some to believe he was being held in jail because of his tie to the National Alliance, which is not a crime.

Despite being repulsed by his views, several defense lawyers and civil libertarians rallied to Wheeler's side. Douglas L. Colbert, a law professor at the University of Maryland, said Wheeler should have been freed from jail a long time ago. "I guess the important message here is having a zealous advocate is the best guarantor of reaching a fair outcome," Colbert said.

Although Thompson said he believes his client's rights were violated, he said Wheeler will not be able to sue because of the plea agreement. As for Wheeler openly espousing his views, Thompson said: If he "doesn't want the government kicking his door down, he might be well advised to stop. And that is a little scary."

Mr Griffin said last night: "I am confident that I can be elected." He added, of the "anti-racism" groups, "It's a very small number of people from the extreme left opposing us."

The party's press officer, Dr. Phil Edwards, said the BNP was aiming to put a full list of candidates forward in every region, reports ShropshireStar.com.

NEW YORK - Sean John, the clothing line of rap music mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, is under scrutiny from a workers' rights group for allegedly using laborers from a Honduran sweatshop.

The director of the anti-sweatshop National Labor Committee, Charles Kernaghan, released a report Tuesday detailing poor working conditions at the Southeast Textiles factory in Choloma, Honduras, where Sean John clothes are made.

Kernaghan and 19-year-old Lydda Eli Gonzalez, a former worker at the factory, stood outside the site of a Sean John store set to open next spring as Gonzalez described the alleged abuses that took place at the factory.

"We should be paid what we're owed. We make so little that it's not enough to have a dignified life," said Gonzalez, who said she was fired after she tried to organize a union.

Workers are subjected to daily body searches, contaminated drinking water and 11- to 12-hour daily shifts, the report said. In exchange, they are paid 24 cents for each $50 Sean John sweat shirt they sew.

But the factory owner, Steve Hawkins, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview that Gonzalez was a disgruntled worker fired for producing poor quality merchandise, not clocking in when she arrived and repeatedly arriving late.

Hawkins, a native of North Carolina, said the charge that conditions at his factory were substandard "is completely groundless." When Gonzalez was fired, she received a severance check equivalent to two-and-a-half months salary, Hawkins said. And while the minimum wage in Honduras is 55 cents an hour, he said his workers make an average of 90 cents per hour.

A representative of Sean John said the clothing line was unaware of the conditions alleged by Kernaghan. "We had absolutely no knowledge of the situation; however, we take these matters very seriously," said Jeff Tweedy, executive vice president of Sean John. "We have a director of compliance who will be looking into this matter immediately."

The report also found women were given mandatory pregnancy tests, and that those who tested positive were fired, Kernaghan said. The abuses are violations of Honduran labor laws but are rarely enforced for fear of corporate divestment, Kernaghan said. His organization's repeated attempts to contact Sean John have gone without a response, he said.

Kernaghan said the study was not an attack on Combs. "This is his company," Kernaghan said, pointing toward the store at Fifth Avenue and 41st Street. "He could turn this around tomorrow. He could set a new standard."

The goal, Kernaghan said, is not to have Sean John pull out of Honduras and leave the workers jobless but to improve working conditions and eliminate human rights abuses. According to the report, about 80 percent of the Southeast Textiles factory production is for the Sean John clothing line. The other 20 percent is for Rocawear, co-founded by rapper and producer Jay-Z and rap music producer Damon Dash.

A call placed to Rocawear after business hours Monday wasn't returned.

Racist fliers appear in Durango driveways

Several racists fliers were distributed late Saturday night or early Sunday morning in Durango-area neighborhoods with the National Alliance's name and logo and anti-immigrant messages printed on them.

"Immigration? or Invasion," proclaims one flier. "If current trends continue, whites will be a minority in this country within the next 50 years. Non-Whites are turning America into a Third World slum. They come for welfare or to take our jobs." Durango resident Sean Schmida discovered a flier in his yard about 3:30 p.m. Monday. "I was appalled," Schmida said. "After I read it, I couldn't believe I found it in my neighborhood. I would have never expected to find anything like that."

Durango police Capt. Dale Smith said the fliers were put in clear plastic bags with white rocks and distributed in the northern part of the city between the 2900 and 3200 blocks on West Second Avenue and East Second Avenue. If the person or people responsible for distributing the fliers is caught, they could be charged with littering or inciting a negative public reaction, Smith said. "Our concern is that it's being disruptive to the community," he said. "It is offensive to some, so that is illegal."

Police believe whoever distributed the fliers was on foot because of their strategic placement. One man reported finding the flier Sunday morning between his two morning papers, The Durango Herald and The Denver Post. Anyone who saw suspicious activity late Saturday night or Sunday morning in the areas where the fliers were distributed are asked to call investigators at 385-2930 or Crimestoppers at 247-1112.

The National Alliance, the West Virginia organization named on the fliers, claims to be "an organization of whites who aren't afraid to speak up for our race." Printed on the fliers is an address for the Alliance office in Denver, a Denver-area phone number and Web sites for the Alliance. A phone message left at the Denver office by the Herald seeking information about the organization and the fliers was not returned Monday.

An answering machine has a recording by someone claiming to be Dr. William L. Pierce, the leader of the National Alliance. According to the group's Web site, Pierce died in July 2002 after a brief battle with cancer. The voice on the answering machine expresses concern about the "out of control immigration situation ... changing the racial complexion of our population." According to The New York Times, the National Alliance is one of the fastest-growing and most dangerous racist organizations in the country. The Denver Post reported in October 2002 that the state chapter has fewer than two dozen members.

The fliers also appeared in Clifton, a town near Grand Junction. More than 100 fliers promoting "white civilization" were distributed in the town this weekend, and the Mesa County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

At least two kinds of fliers were distributed in Clifton, a town of about 17,000 just east of Grand Junction.

Mesa County sheriff's Sgt. John Cooper said investigators didn't know who left the Clifton fliers. He said whoever distributed them probably cannot be prosecuted, but he said he planned to check with the FBI to see if the fliers fall under ethnic-intimidation laws.

Reached by The Associated Press, a National Alliance official would not say who distributed the fliers. But the official, Shaun Walker, told The Associated Press on Monday that a Clifton resident expressed interest in the alliance after it distributed materials in Eagle.

He wouldn't identify the resident.

"We just had some alliance members and supporters that wanted to do some fliering' in that area," he said.

Over the weekend, National Alliance members in Colorado conducted a state-wide literature distribution campaign. In about a 48 hour period, 47 different Colorado cities across the state received Alliance literature. So far we have received media coverage in at least four different publications. [I count 14 on the Internet. -- Ed.]

I am sharing this local activity with people across the country simply because of the comments I found in the article below from one local law enforcement agency. From my perspective, Durango Police Captain Dale Smith has made a unique statement. I have seen lots of media coverage quoting law enforcement agencies about National Alliance activity over the years -- but this one is truly something new for me.

Capt. Smith said: "If the person or people responsible for distributing the fliers is caught, they could be charged with littering or inciting a negative public reaction. Our concern is that it's being disruptive to the community. It is offensive to some, so that is illegal." (emphasis added)

Unbelievable! "It is offensive to some, so that is illegal." If you get your feelings hurt, you have legal recourse? I should keep a lawyer on permanent retainer because I find almost everything in today's dysgenic society to be non-stop "offensive." According to the Durango Police, all of us can now seek a legal remedy to Sumner Redstone's (a.k.a. Murray Rothstein) MTV programming. People can be charged with a crime for "inciting a negative public reaction" or "being disruptive to the community"? Such an Orwellian misinterpretation of the law makes me cringe. And we all know who promotes these media-driven legal interpretations.

It seems to me that Captain Dale Smith needs to reminded about the First Amendment. Perhaps we should all write a letter to the Durango Police Department stating that we are offended by the Captain's remarks and would like to press charges. We can explain how his comments have incited a negative reaction within all of us. Or maybe we should just point out his offensive stupidity.

At any rate, such a direct assault on our freedom to speak must not go unanswered. Send firm, polite and civil letters to the officials and media responsible by using the contact information below.

Man Held For Months Reaches Plea Deal

BALTIMORE -- Declaring that he had been demonized by the media and could never expect a fair trial, a 61-year-old man who has spent nearly four months in jail after police seized gunpowder, guns and ammunition from his home pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor charges.

As part of a plea bargain agreement, Lovell Wheeler pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment, possession of more than five pounds of smokeless gunpowder, and storing smokeless gunpowder in something other than its original containers. He received a five-year suspended sentence and three years supervised probation.

Wheeler also agreed to forfeit all of the guns, ammunition, and gun components seized and he agreed that he will not possess, purchase or manufacture any of those items for three years.

But he also was unrepentant.

Wheeler told Judge Lynn K. Stewart that he had been arrested on a warrant "bogus as a two dollar bill" by "jack-booted thugs."

He said he had been falsely described in the media as a white supremacist and a member of a neo-Nazi party.

"I'm not white," Wheeler declared, turning to face the courtroom crowded with media. "I'm a half-breed Indian. You can see by the shape of my face. And I'm not a member of any organization."

Police raided Wheeler's house July 1 and seized 62 pounds of smokeless powder, 22 guns, ammunition, body armor and weapon parts. During the raid, Wheeler handed officers literature from the National Alliance, a neo-Nazi group based in West Virginia, and told them a race war was coming, according to court documents.

He was initially granted bail of $2 million, but a judge revoked it after prosecutors argued Wheeler was a threat to the community. The case was championed by civil libertarians, who argued it was unusual and unfair for a man to be held without bail on misdemeanor charges.

Wheeler's attorney, Brian G. Thompson, accused city police of "overly aggressive tactics" and called upon the mayor and city council to investigate their conduct of the case.

"They handled it totally inappropriately," said Thompson.

Prosecutors said they were satisfied that Wheeler had been disarmed.

"His statements that led to the search and seizure warrant indicated he thought he was in some type of war," said Doug Ludwig, an assistant state's attorney. "That was the basis for his being held. Whether he still thinks he's in a war, I don't know. I hope not, but we'll continue to monitor the situation."

Wheeler's wife, Elizabeth said Wednesday she does not remember her husband talking about a war.

His attorney had said Wheeler made and sold guns as a hobby and does not remember talking about a "race war." Thompson insisted Wheeler, who has diabetes and a heart condition, is not a danger.

Teacher suspended after making student disrobe By Sarah Horner

A Union Elementary social studies teacher received a three day suspension after allegedly ordering a boy to strip in front of his classmates.

The incident, which took place last Wednesday at the Henderson County school, is being looked into by the school district's attorney Canna and Canna from the Chicago area.

According to information released by the 12-year-old-boy's parents the social studies class was discussing the Pharaohs when they ruled Egypt. The teacher, Lisa Lox, had asked her class would there be a need for laws if there were only one person left on earth. The students all responded with a 'no'. Then the teacher asked if there would be a need for laws if there were only two people on earth.

All but two students, said there would need to be laws. The two students who disagreed, included the 12-year-old and another student in the class who said they would split the earth evenly.

With that said the teacher then, to possibly help prove a point, asked the girl to give her his textbooks. He did. Then the teacher allegedly told him to take off his clothes. The sixth grader, whose name is not being published on the request of his mother, did including everything but his underwear.

Following, the boy became very upset and according to his mother "suffered an anxiety attack and passed out."

The family of the young boy is scheduled to meet with a counselor and attorneys this week. They noted they are unsure if the child will return back to Union School or not, but noted "they did not want him back in her (Lox's) classroom."

Union Elementary Principal Tony Ryan and Union Superintendent Dean Irlbeck were unavailable for comment.

It was stated by the district Monday that a statement on behalf of the school would be released. After reaching the school late Tuesday morning, no statement has been released, thus far.

BUSH PLAN TO DRIVE WHITES FROM AMERICA SPEEDED UP

A proposal is quietly advancing on Beacon Hill that would give roughly 150,000 undocumented immigrants in Massachusetts the right to obtain a driver's license, following a similar law that became a flash point during California's recent recall election.

The Marxist-Massachusetts bill, attracting an unusual alliance of white-hating supporters-immigrant groups, would allow people who should not be in America to obtain a driver's license.

Currently, Massachusetts requires motorists seeking a first-time driver's license to provide a Social Security number, a Social Security card or a valid passport, and three other forms of identification. That requirement was so that white-hating immigrants who are not eligible for Social Security cards, but who work and pay taxes here and have IRS-issued taxpayer identification numbers.

The Legislature's Public Safety Committee has already approved the bill, and the new Homeland Security panel is likely to hold hearings on it in the next several weeks, according to state Representative Martin J. Walsh, a Dorchester Democrat who chairs the Homeland Security Committee.

House Speaker Thomas M. Finneran and Senate President Robert Travaglini have not taken a position on the bill, and a spokeswoman for Governor Mitt Romney said he has some concerns about it but has not decided whether he would sign it.

In California, Governor white-hater Gray Davis signed a similar bill into law about a month before the Oct. 7 recall election, drawing charges that he was pandering to the state's Hispanic voters.

As in California, the Massachusetts bill is creating controversy among lawmakers and immigration opponents, who argue that the state would be giving legitimacy to undocumented immigrants.

"A lot of folks are understanding that it is a very controversial issue," said state Representative Eugene L. O'Flaherty, a Chelsea Democrat who is sponsoring the bill. "One group of colleagues that I spoke to said these folks are illegal and breaking the law. On the other side, some colleagues from a public safety perspective said it makes sense."

Massachusetts advocates argue that undocumented immigrants are an integral part of the state economy and should be allowed to legally drive to and from work. They also emphasize that allowing undocumented immigrants to get driver's licenses will clear the way for them to get driver training and auto insurance, making all Massachusetts motorists safer.

"September 11th prompted me to file this. A majority of the terrorists that attacked the country had been equipped illegally with driver's licenses" from Florida, said state Representative Reed V. Hillman, a Sturbridge Republican. "We should make it difficult for people that are in this country illegally to get that type of documentation."

The bill granting licenses to illegal immigrants has won support from an array of immigrant groups as well as a police chief's association and some key state lawmakers.

JEW-CONTROLLED BUSH REGIEME USING NEW METHOD TO DRIVE WHITE-SKINNED PEOPLE OUT

PALOMINAS - The night is infinite out here.

It hides the drug runners and the human smugglers trying to cross the border over the rocky spine of the Huachuca Mountains in southern Arizona. On this night, they have traded their wide-brimmed hats and brown uniform shirts for night-vision goggles and camouflage as they search for lawbreakers.

National parks and other federal recreation sites in Arizona have some of the highest crime rates of any public lands in the country, and those in southern Arizona lead the list.

"It's the Wild West out here every night," one ranger says.

Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, southeast of Yuma, has more crimes per visitor than any other piece of public land in the West. The Coronado National Forest in southeastern Arizona leads all forest lands in the number of crimes committed on it. Two rangers in Arizona have been shot in the past two years. Rangers now spend more time patrolling the border than guarding resources they were hired to protect.

The rangers at Coronado National Memorial were hired to patrol the park but also to protect its resources and educate visitors. Now they spend much of their time on special operations in the park, running down drug- and human-smugglers, wondering which ones are carrying automatic rifles. Working as a ranger these days for U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management or Fish and Wildlife Service along the U.S.-Mexican border is mostly about being a border cop.

Park staff are often stalked or threatened. Abandoned cars litter the lands set aside for protection. If you need a ranger at the Agua Fria National Monument, north of Phoenix, for, say, a broken leg, chances are you won't be able to find one. He's probably working the border.

Smuggling highways

Coronado National Memorial, near Sierra Vista, was named one of the nation's 10 most dangerous parks by the Fraternal Order of Police's park ranger organization this year. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, near Ajo, was named the nation's most dangerous park for the second year in a row.

Both parks are virtual highways for smuggling, and both rank in the top 10 of Western parks for crimes committed per visitor, an analysis by TheArizona Republic shows.

They are part of a swath of public lands in Arizona that extends in a crescent, 100 miles at its widest, from the state's southwestern corner to its southeastern corner. Within that crescent is one national forest, six national park sites, three national wildlife refuges, two national conservation areas and two national monuments.

Crime within the area has climbed in the past decade, partly because the Border Patrol has squeezed smugglers out of urban areas and into wide-open spaces and partly because smugglers have figured out how easy it is to cross the border when it's a barbed-wire fence and then miles of rarely visited public land.

The public lands within the "Smugglers Crescent" have crime problems driven by drug- and human-smuggling. They are all sparsely covered by law enforcement. Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, for example, has one ranger to cover 860,000 acres of land, an area larger than Rhode Island; the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area, southeast of Tucson, doesn't even have a full-time law enforcement officer to patrol its 84,000 acres.

Arizona is not unique in this. Big Bend National Park, Padre Island National Seashore and Amistad National Recreation Area in Texas have similarly high crime rates, driven by similar smuggling problems.

North Cascades National Park in Washington has more serious crimes per visitor than any park in the country, and the national parks and forests that butt up against the Canadian border have smuggling problems as well. High-grade marijuana and heroin come in from Canada the same way that low-grade weed and cocaine come up from Central and South America.

The similarity between the two regions: They are vast lands with few people patrolling them.

On the southern border of the United States, particularly, the smuggling has become a resource magnet, pulling in rangers and wardens whose job it is to protect resources like the rare organ pipe cactus or the endangered Sonoran pronghorn antelope.

Tired of being stalked

There were five rangers assigned to Coronado National Memorial, a 4,750-acre park that has become a boulevard for illegal trafficking. Two of the rangers transferred out of state after a year. Maybe, some of the rangers left behind speculate, they got the experience they wanted and transferred to be closer to home.

Or maybe they got tired of being stalked.

This is a typical story from the border, one that every park ranger who works there knows: One day two years ago, a ranger who lived in the park was getting dressed. The phone rang. It was the Border Patrol. It had been monitoring smugglers' radio transmissions and had overheard someone say, "Yeah, Fred's getting out of bed. He's putting his pants on now."

One of the rangers spent five years as a Border Patrol agent, then joined the Park Service to do something different: writing speeding tickets, going out on medical calls, fighting fires.

It hasn't quite worked out. "What I'm doing now," he says, "isn't very different from what I did for the Border Patrol."

Before he was a Border Patrol agent, the ranger was a cavalry scout for the Army. "Come to think of it," he says, gunning the engine, "what I'm doing now isn't much different from what I did in the Army. It's the same language, the same equipment and the same tactics."

There is a place on the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge called Little Tule Tank, a place where Sonoran pronghorn antelope and mule deer are supposed to drink when the refuge's natural water sources run dry. But it is an attraction for others, as well.

Rob Peloquin, the refuge's only ranger, is guarding two undocumented immigrants he caught drinking out of the tank. Peloquin has been working the refuge as a ranger for 3 1/2 months. To date, he hasn't done much to protect visitors. That's partly because this section of the Sonoran Desert, with its postcard cactuses soaring up from brown hills into blue skies, is inhospitable to the sane during the summer. But he also has spent virtually all of his time tracking undocumented immigrants in the desert.

It has been 25 minutes since Peloquin caught these two men, 23 minutes since he called the Border Patrol. There's a Border Patrol to do this job, he says. At least, that's how it should be.

Tough to recruit

"When we advertise job postings here, seldom do Fish and Wildlife Service officers apply," Peloquin says. "They're checking hunting and fishing licenses and talking to hunters, and it's a great job. Who would want to give that up to be a de facto Border Patrol agent? We've had people who do details here leave and say, 'I'm a federal game warden, not a Border Patrol agent.' "

It is 20 more minutes until the Border Patrol gets there and Peloquin can get back on patrol.

Even the humdrum days have their excitement or moments of danger. In the past two years, two rangers have been shot on public recreation lands in Arizona, and several more have been shot at, as well. The one who was killed was Kris Eggle.

He was ambushed on Aug. 9, 2002, as he was working the dirt road that separates Mexico from Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. He was helping the Border Patrol chase two men wanted in Mexico who were in the park. Eggle's picture smiles over the conference table in the ranger office at Organ Pipe. Outside the visitor center, there's a memorial to him. It is a rock with a ranger hat and a plaque on it. The plaque contains the standard wording about bravery and service that won't be forgotten.

But there is a phrase that stands out: "While protecting visitors from harm . . . " There are few documented cases of visitors having problems with smugglers. The drug runners tend to avoid everyone. The undocumented immigrants will come up and ask for water or steal food from an empty tent. But generally there's little interaction.

Public not served

Rangers are often so busy patrolling the border that they don't get to see the public.

Whenever the staff at Coronado National Memorial runs a special operation to interdict smugglers, it strips the number of rangers available to the public down to one. Organ Pipe, even when it gets the full number of rangers it has the budget to hire, still will not be able to provide 24-hour patrols. Interaction with immigrants most often comes between groups of undocumented migrants and park staff - biologists, hydrologists and geologists - working in the field.

Usually working alone, some of the scientists have taken to asking for law enforcement escorts in areas of known smuggling activity. Guy Jontz is a ranger at Organ Pipe now, but he spent five years as a biologist at the Fish and Wildlife Service's Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge near Sasabe.

It was only a few months ago that Jontz was working the Buenos Aires where his radio didn't work and he saw a truck cutting across the desert. "I thought they were hunters," he says, "and I walked over to give them a little lecture about driving through the desert. As I was walking over, I was thinking, 'Why are they trying to drive away from me and trying not to look like they're driving away from me?'

"When I got closer, I saw there were three guys sitting up front, and I saw the drugs in back. I said, very quickly, 'Hi, don't drive in the desert,' and walked back the way I came. I was just waiting to get mowed down." Rangers have all sorts of stories like that. Like the time Jontz was walking along a wash near Arivaca and came up on three horsemen with AK-47 automatic rifles. ("I said, 'Hi.' They said, 'Hi.' Then I got the hell out of there, waiting to be cut in half.").

Or Bo Stone's first day as a ranger at Organ Pipe when he ended up in a chase involving eight smugglers' vehicles and 2,200 pounds of marijuana. Or the time park rangers came up on an ATV near the Growler Mountains in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, and the driver ran away. When the ranger got there, he looked into the cargo boxes and found batteries, water, beans, tortillas, ammunition, all the fixings for a lookout's nest being set up to give the all-clear to smugglers once rangers and the Border Patrol leave the area. This is not the traditional job description of the park ranger.

Good-guy image gone

"In my other jobs," says Organ Pipe's Stone, who has worked at three other national parks and for Wyoming as a game ranger, "I'd say 95 percent of my job was being the good guy in the white hat. Here, 99 percent, maybe 100 percent, of my job is drug interdiction and border patrol." In the Huachuca Mountains, where the park rangers acting like border cops are staking out trails under a star-filled sky, Spanish fills the air.

The voices are coming up a trail from Mexico and belong to people crossing the mountains, south of Sierra Vista, to make it to a road, where they expect to be picked up and taken to Tucson, Phoenix and points beyond. Hidden by the night, a park ranger steps into the group. A man nearly walks into him. The ranger puts his hand to stop the group, and a woman farther back yells, "¡Ay!," which echoes through the mountains. On the radio is a report of another group trying to cross over from the east.

A detective responsible for investigating racially motivated crime lives in a home filled with Nazi SS uniforms and tributes to Hitler, The Telegraph can reveal.

Det Con Linda Daniels, who is married to a known racist and BNP member who believes the Holocaust was "exaggerated", works in the community safety unit at the police station in Notting Hill, one of the most ethnically diverse areas of London.

The unit, one of many set up across the city as a result of the inquiry into the murder of Stephen Lawrence, investigates "hate crimes", including "racist crime, domestic violence, homophobic crime and hate mail".

Her home, however, which she shares with her 52-year-old husband Keith Beaumont, contains a life-size mannequin of a Nazi SS soldier, with swastikas on its helmet and belt, in the hallway.

Until recently, the couple kept a bust of Hitler in the porch and in their living-room, items of Nazi uniform are displayed on plinths. Even their alsatian dog is named Blondi, after Hitler's pet of the same breed.

Mr Beaumont, who is an honorary member of an SS veterans' society, told a reporter from this newspaper that the Holocaust had been "exaggerated" and that there was "no proof of any of it".

He has also claimed that the gas ovens at Auschwitz were built by the Russians to smear the Nazis and that nobody was deliberately starved of food at Belsen.

The revelations about the contents of Det Con Daniels's home come only days after a BBC exposé of racism at a police training college in the north of England.

One recruit was shown dressed up in a Ku-Klux Klan-style hood, saying that Stephen Lawrence "deserved" to die and that he would like to bury an Asian under a railway track. Six officers have since resigned.

A reporter from The Telegraph first visited the Beaumonts' home as part of a story on SS soldiers now living in Britain. Last week another reporter from this newspaper, posing as a researcher, revisited the detached house in Holland-on-Sea in Essex, but was told by Mr Beaumont's mother Kathleen that the couple were on holiday in Greece.

She said that the article printed about her son in this newspaper in May last year must have been written by a "Jewish" journalist. She said that her son could not be a Nazi because he came from an Irish family and was not alive during the war.

Mr Beaumont has been married to his wife for 10 years. He has been a member of the BNP for some years. He makes a living dealing in military memorabilia of the Waffen-SS, the military wing of the Nazi party, who committed countless atrocities during the Second World War.

He attends their reunions and takes pride in being one of a tiny number of foreigners allowed to join the Hilfsgemainschaft auf Gegenseitigkeit der Ehemaligen Soldaten der Waffen-SS (Mutual Aid Association for Soldiers of the Former Waffen-SS). He has said that David Irving, the Holocaust-denying author, is "the greatest historian Britain has ever had".

Mr Beaumont has also said that most of his friends who were in the SS "think Hitler did some great things and it was just a pity that the war happened in his time".

Nick Griffin, the chairman of the BNP, described him as having "an odd quirk". "While I would regard it as fairly tasteless, there is no law against having bits of memorabilia in your home. Trevor Phillips [chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality] has a bust of Lenin on his desk and the man [Lenin] is a mass murderer.

"Mr Beaumont was certainly a member last year, but I don't know whether he is now. I would be quite happy if he hasn't rejoined, but we are not going to kick anyone out for something like that."

Last night Scotland Yard launched an investigation into Det Con Daniels after being alerted to her background by this newspaper.

A spokesman said: "Inquiries are being undertaken by the Director of Professional Standards to establish whether any criminal or disciplinary offences have been committed by this officer. She is currently on annual leave and will be interviewed on her return."

The Telegraph asked Mr Beaumont's mother and the Metropolitan Police to contact Det Con Daniels and her husband for a response, but received no reply from the couple.

Berlin (ddp). Der Bau des Holocaust-Mahnmals ist vorerst gestoppt worden. Grund ist eine heftige Kontroverse im Kuratorium der Mahnmal-Stiftung über die Beteiligung der Firma Degussa, die während der NS-Zeit an der Firma Degesch beteiligt war, die das zum Judenmord eingesetzte Gift Zyklon B herstellte. Nach einer Entscheidung des Kuratoriums der Stiftung „Mahnmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas" sei die Montage der insgesamt 2700 Betonstelen vorerst eingestellt, sagte die Geschäftsführerin der Stiftung, Sibylle Quack, gestern. Hintergrund ist die Trennung von dem mit dem Graffiti-Schutz betrauten Unternehmen Degussa, das als Mütterfirma der „Deutschen Gesellschaft für Schädlingsbekämpfung" während der Nazidiktatur in die Produktion des in den Gaskammern der Konzentrationslager eingesetzten Giftgases Zyklon B verwickelt war. Die Arbeiten an den Fundamenten des Denkmals gehen weiter.

Das Kuratorium sei zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass eine Beteiligung der Degussa angesichts „der besonderen Geschichte der. Firma und wegen des spezifischen Charakters des Denkmal-Projekts schwierig" sei, so Quack. Sie bestätigte damit einen Bericht der „Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung". Der Stopp sei notwendig, um die „Glaubwürdigkeit des Denkmal-vorhabens" nicht zu gefährden, so der Vize-Chef des Förderkreises Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas, Lothar C. Poll. Die mit dem Mahnmal betraute Baufirma hatte die Vereinbarung mit der Degussa geschlossen, ohne das Kuratorium zu informieren. Das Unternehmen, das den haltbarsten und preisgünstigsten Graffiti-Schutz anbot, hatte von Anfang an selbst auf seine belastete Firmengeschichte hingewiesen.

Außenansicht: Warum wir Zuwanderung brauchen / SZ vom 13. Juni

Die seit Jahrzehnten von Politikern, Medien und manchen Wissenschaftlern, im aktuellen Fall von Professor Dieter Oberndörfer formulierte Behauptung, „die Bevölkerung der Bundesrepublik schrumpft", ist falsch. Frühere Prognosen, die einen Rückgang der Bevölkerungszahl angekündigt haben, wurden jeweils von der Realität widerlegt. Die Bevölkerungszahl Deutschlands, mit 231 Einwohnern pro Quadratkilometer eines der am dichtesten besiedelten Länder der Erde, wächst beständig. So gab es von 2001 bis 2002 einen Zuwachs von etwa 180000 Menschen.

Was meint vor diesem Hintergrund der Migrationsforscher Oberndörfer mit seiner Forderung nach „energischer Geburtenförderung" und „notwendiger Zuwanderung"? Was ist notwendig: mehr Arbeitskräfte - und das bei 4,5 Millionen Arbeitslosen? Mehr Straßen, Wohn- und Gewerbegebiete - und das bei einem Flächenverbrauch von mittlerweile 130 Hektar pro Tag? Mehr Kraftfahrzeuge - und das bei 44,4 Millionen Personenwagen im Jahr 2002? Oder geht es um eine Erhöhung der Anzahl von Konsumenten, um weiteres Wirtschaftswachstum zu ermöglichen? Ein Wirtschaftssystem, das ökologische Gegebenheiten wie die Dauertragfähigkeit von Ökosystemen ignoriert, wird aber auf Dauer keinen Bestand haben.

Um Missverständnissen vorzubeugen: Der Hinweis auf ökologische Realitäten hat nichts, aber auch gar nichts mit „völkischem Denken" zu tun, und selbstverständlich müssen politisch Verfolgte in Deutschland Asyl erhalten.

Wir haben im langjährigen Jahreszuschnitt eine Nettozuwanderung von etwa 200000 Menschen nach Deutschland (im Jahr 2001 laut Statistischem Bundesamt 273 000, für 2002 wird ein Wanderungsüberschuss von 235 000 Menschen) erwartet. Und was ist der Preis dieser Zuwanderung? Deutlich höhere Ausländerarbeitslosigkeit von fast 20 Prozent, überproportionale Sozialhilfebedürftigkeit von Ausländern, erhebliche Integrationsprobleme, vor allem der Menschen aus dem islamischen Kulturkreis. Selbst wenn die schlimmsten Voraussagen richtig wären, wäre es nicht schlimm, wenn wir wieder, wie 1930, nur noch 68 Millionen, oder wie zur Jahrhundertwende 56 Millionen Einwohner hätten. Von einem Mangel an Arbeitskräften zu sprechen, ist im Hinblick auf 4,5 Millionen Arbeitslose reiner Unsinn. Das Gleiche gilt für die bedrohte Versorgung der alten Menschen, wenn gleichzeitig unsere Chefangestellten Millionengehälter beziehen. Warum beschäftigt sich der Autor nicht mit der Aufgabe, die Geburtenzahl zu erhöhen?

So bleibt ein solcher Artikel nur zu verstehen, wenn der Schreiber sich entweder in der Bewunderung der Einwanderer sonnen möchte oder aus ethischen Gründen anderen Völkern helfen möchte. Beides können wir nicht: Was unsere ethischen Pflichten betrifft, so melden die Statistiken jährlich 20 Millionen Flüchtlinge, die wirkliche Hilfe brauchen.

Es kommt nur auf die Qualität der Zuwanderer an. Professor Dieter Oberndörfer sollte sich Unterlagen von den Sozialämtern der Städte, von dem Anteil von Einwanderern in den Justizvollzugsanstalten, von Grund- und Hauptschullehrern, von Polizeidienststellen geben lassen, um festzustellen, dass die bisherige Zuwanderung eine gravierende finanzielle Belastung ist. Mit multikulturellem Idealismus wird nichts gewonnen: zudem sollte sich ein Wissenschaftler solcher Herzensregungen enthalten.

Auch wenn die Geburtenzahlen seit 1970 unter den Zahlen der Sterbefälle liegen, hat die Bevölkerung derBundesrepublik laufend zugenommen: von 1965 bis 1989 um etwa sieben Millionen, also von 55 Millionen auf 62.5 Millionen. Zur Zeit der Wiedervereinigung hatte die Bundesrepublik Deutschland circa 12.5 Millionen Menschen mehr aufzuweisen, als zur Zeit ihrer Gründung, während in der gleichen Zeit die Bevölkerung der DDR annähernd konstant geblieben ist. Unter dem Gesichtspunkt der Rentensicherheit war selbst dieses Wachstum zu gering, um den Überhang an Menschen, der zwischen 1920 und 1945 erzeugt wurde, auszugleichen, der die Ausbeulung des Lebensbaums zu einem Pilz bewirkte.

Was mich am meisten wundert ist, dass weitere, sehr wichtige Seiten der Bevölkerungsentwicklung von ihm ganz unter den Tisch gekehrt werden. Parallel mit der steigenden Bevölkerungsdichte entwickelte sich ein enormes Umweltbewusstsein in Deutschland. Hier liegen wir ja im internationalen Vergleich ganz vorne.

Mit der Zunahme der Bevölkerungsdichte (1949: 200, jetzt 231 Einwohner je Quadratkilometer), deren Ausmaß nur wenige Entwicklungsländer erreichen. ist jedem klar geworden, dass die Natur ein knappes und kostbares Gut geworden ist und das drohende Unheil nur durch eine alljährliche Erhöhung der Ökosteuer abzuwenden ist. Ist das etwa nichts, worauf man stolz sein könnte9

Ramersdorfer Mordfall - es waren Serientäter

Bei den Ermittlungen zu einer bereits zwei Jahre dauernden Mordserie an Türken in ganz Deutschland suchen Fahnder der Nürnberger Polizei jetzt neue Spuren in München. Ein zentraler Schusswaffenvergleich beim Bundeskriminalamt in Wiesbaden weist nach Angaben der Ermittler darauf hin, dass drei Morde an Türken in Nürnberg und Hamburg aus den vergangenen zwei Jahren in Zusammenhang mit der Bluttat an dem türkischen Gemüsehändler Habil Kilic stehen, der am Morgen des 29. August 2001 in seinem Gemüseladen in München erschossen wurde. Die bisherigen Ermittlungen hätten ergeben, dass möglicherweise Spuren zu einem Täter oder derselben Tätergruppe in die niederländische Drogenszene führen. Die Mordkommissionen in Nürnberg und München (Rufnummer 29100) bitten Bekannte der Opfer um Hinweise, die sie bislang verschwiegen haben.

Nach Berichten der Nürnberger Polizei ist bei allen vier Morden die gleiche Waffe verwendet worden: eine Pistole vom Kaliber 7,65 Millimeter. Im jüngsten Fall hatten einer oder mehrere Unbekannte den türkischen Gemüsehändler Kilic in seinem Geschäft an der Bad Schachener-Straße in Ramersdorf erschossen, wo die Ermittler entsprechende Projektile sicherstellten. Zeugen wollten einen dunkelhäutigen Mann gesehen haben, der etwa zur Tatzeit das Geschäft verließ und in einen dunklen Pkw stieg, der mit laufendem Motor wartete. Ein anderer Mann soll am Steuer gesessen haben. „Wir haben damals die Ermittlungen an die Kollegen in Nürnberg übergeben, die bereits in einem ähnlichen, offenbar parallelen Fall ermittelten", sagt Albert Lachner von der Münchner Polizei. Begonnen hatte die Serie der Bluttaten im September 2000 mit dem Mord an einem hessischen Blumengroßhändler an seinem Stand in Nürnberg. Etwa neun Monate später wurde ein 49 Jahre alter, türkischer Änderungsschneider in Nürnberg erschossen. Am Ende desselben Monats töteten Unbekannte einen 31 Jahre alten Gemüsehändler in Hamburg. Die Residenz-Pflicht im deutschen Asylverfahrensgesetz ist seit langem in der Kritik vieler Flüchtlingsorganisationen. Jetzt klagt ein Afrikaner vor Gericht.

Dem Afrikaner Cornelius Yufanyi wird eine Straftat zur Last gelegt, die Deutsche nicht begehen können. Der aus Kamerun stammende Flüchtling reiste ohne Erlaubnis in eine andere Stadt und verstieß damit gegen die so genannte Residenz-Pflicht. Diese ist im Asylverfahrensgesetz festgeschrieben und besagt, dass Flüchtlinge während ihres Asylverfahrens den Bereich der zuständigen Ausländerbehörde - in der Regel eine Gemeinde oder ein Landkreis - nicht ohne schriftliche Bewilligung verlassen dürfen. Vor drei Jahren lebte Yufanyi in einem abgelegenen Flüchtlingswohnheim im thüringischen Landkreis Eichsfeld. Weil er sich an der Organisation eines internationalen Flüchtlingskongresses in Jena beteiligen wollte, beantragte er beim Ausländeramt Reise-Genehmigungen. Die wurden ihm verweigert. Yufanyi habe sein „Kontingent" für den Besuch politischer Veranstaltungen bereits ausgeschöpft, hieß es. Der Afrikaner fuhr ohne Genehmigung nach Jena. Die Polizei schickte Yufanyi einen Strafbefehl über 600 Mark, dagegen legte der Flüchtling Widerspruch ein. Das Angebot des Amtsgerichtes Worbis, das Verfahren bei Anerkennung einer geringen Schuld einzustellen, lehnte Yufanyi ab. „Ich will einen Freispruch erreichen und werde keine noch so geringe Strafe akzeptieren", sagt er. Für Anfang September hat das Amtsgericht einen weiteren Verhandlungstermin anberaumt.

Bewegungsfreiheit und Bestimmung des Aufenthaltsortes seien „elementare Rechte", argumentiert der Afrikaner, der 1998 nach Deutschland floh und inzwischen in Göttingen Forstwissenschaft studiert. Die Residenz-Pflicht verstoße gegen das Grundgesetz und die Europäische Menschenrechts-Charta. Sollte er verurteilt werden, wollen Yufanyis Anwälte das Bundesverfassungsgericht in Karlsruhe anrufen.

Zahlreiche Organisationen teilen Yufanyis Ansicht. „Die Residenz Pflicht ist ein Apartheitsgesetz", erklärt der Niedersächsische Flüchtlingsrat. Das Komitee für Grundrechte und Demokratie spricht von einem „diskriminierenden Sondergesetz gegen Asylsuchende". Das Flüchtlingshilfswerk der Vereinten Nationen hat mehrfach an Behörden und Gerichte appelliert, die Residenzpflicht zu überprüfen. Der Paragraf sei mit internationalem Recht nicht zu vereinbaren.
