Whites Rally in Newport

by Billy Roper

19 January 2004

In the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains, in Newport, Tennessee, over 200 White Nationalists gathered to protest the planned Martin Luther King celebration at the county courthouse. The front-page story of the Citizen Tribune reads, "A planned rally to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King did not materialize Saturday." When the event you are protesting is cancelled as a result of your protest, this can only be described as total victory.

The protest was organized by Ken Gregg of the Knights of Yahweh and attended by activists from the Cleveland Knights of North Carolina led by Virgil Griffin, the Confederate Hammerskins, independent skinheads, the Confederate Knights, Ray Larsen and his Klan people from Indiana, Pastor Richard Butler -- founder and leader of Aryan Nations -- as well as Aryan Nations Chief of Security Rick Spring, Aryan Nations state leaders from Ohio and Tennessee, White Revolution Chairman Billy Roper and White Revolution members from Massachusetts, North Carolina, Arkansas and Tennessee. Some White Revolution members drove as far as 950 miles to attend the event.

In total there were about 100 movement activists at the courthouse demonstration and, more significantly, over 100 local White residents showed up to join the protest, making this, from a recruiting viewpoint, one of the most successful demonstrations in recent memory. As one local resident asked, "Where were you guys at a year ago?" Chairman Roper's reply was, "We just started about a year ago -- and you ain't seen nothin' yet."

As usual there were about a dozen or so counter-demonstrators from groups with poor bathing habits such as the ARA, Earth First, and a group of HIV-positive fags known as Ass Up, err, I mean Act Up, which stands for AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power. They were joined by about a dozen local jigaboos.

There were over 200 local and state troopers in full riot gear, helicopters flying overhead, FBI, Homeland Security, Anti-Terrorism Task Force, you name it they were there.

Newport, Tennessee, is a town with a 92% White population. U.S. Census statistics shows the population includes 6,668 White people, 388 niggers, 95 spics, 37 people who claim to be American Indians, 17 gooks, 1 Samoan and 33 ethnically challenged people. Despite the overwhelmingly White populace Newport somehow managed to elect a nigger mayor, Roland Dykes, primarily because he happened to be the only one of the ballot, a situation that is likely to change during the next election. A ruckus was caused two days prior to the event, on January 15th, when Mayor Dykes found a wooden cross burning in his yard. This was either an expression of how local residents feel towards their duly elected representative, or, a likelier scenario, the cross was lit by Dykes or one of his AIDS-infected supporters from Ass Up in order to elicit sympathy and publicity. Nevertheless, after discussions with the townspeople, it seems Roland Dykes won't be returning to office.

The original Martin Luther King celebration was planned by the Cocke County Ministerial Association, a Baptist church with a majority White congregation and a nigger preacher. Apparently the White members of the Baptist Church weren't as excited about Martin Luther King Day as was their nigger preacher. Go figure. Members of the Cocke County Ministerial Association may be wondering why their efforts and their financial contributions are going towards a Martin Luther King celebration in the first place. A nigger preacher, a nigger mayor, a majority White population, and a demonstration that sparked a charged atmosphere -- look for changes in Newport, Tennessee, coming soon.

Talking to attendees of the protest, one of the most amazing things was the overwhelming welcoming reception. Pastor Butler, along with Rick Spring and Chairman Roper, were hailed as conquering heroes upon their arrival, when a dozen or more White high school students greeted them by roaring into the parking lot, honking their horns, playing Dixie and shouting, "White Power!"

To re-emphasize what Chairman Roper said, "You ain't seen nothin' yet." 2004 has started off on the right foot and promises to be the most exciting year for White Nationalists to date. At the end of this month Volksfront is sponsoring Aryanfest in Phoenix, Arizona. Speakers include Chairman Roper, Pastor Butler and Tom Metzger with an all-star lineup of White Power bands. Chairman Roper would like to thank the organizers of this event as well as the White Revolution members and members of other organizations that were able to attend and make this event a success. And where were the people who planned to attend the Martin Luther King ceremony? According to County Sheriff, Maurice Shults, "They're probably at home praying."
