Jewish Media Blackout: Nose Biting Attack on 16-Year-Old White
Teen Press release EURO Expresses Horror and Outrage at Nose Biting Attack on 16-Year-Old White Teen. Urges Alabama Prosecutors to Pursue Hate Crime Charges against Black Attacker. New Orleans, Louisiana, February 4, 2002 . The European-American Unity and Rights Organization (EURO) today expressed horror and outrage at the vicious attack on sixteen-year-old Jason Smith, a White teen from Collinsville, Alabama, who had his nose bitten off by a Black attacker. EURO is urging state prosecutors to charge 22-year-old Michael Dewayne Jackson using Alabama's Hate Crime Statute. Police say Jason Smith was approached by two Black males while pumping gas at rural Collinsville, Alabama store on Tuesday, January 29. Michael DeWayne Jackson told Smith he wanted $5. When Smith told him he didn't have the money, Jackson trip Smith, threw him to the ground and bit off the left side of his nose. Local police officials have contacted the FBI to investigate this as a racially motivated crime. "EURO is urging State Prosecutors to use Alabama's Hate Crime Statute in this case," said Vincent Breeding, EURO National Director. "For years, EURO has warned that anti-hate laws were being used to selectively prosecute European-Americans. In the last two years EURO has followed dozens of racially motivated cases in states with hate crime statutes. Of these cases, prosecutors have applied these statues in only one case. We urge Alabama State Attorney General Bill Pryor to oversee this investigation to ensure that these statutes are used equally and fairly, regardless of race."
