Gary Winnick

Founder and Chairman of the Board - Pacific Capital Group and Global Crossing, Ltd.

 

Gary Winnick received his BA/C.W. from Post College in Brookville, New York. Mr. Winnick is Founder and Chairman of Global Crossing, Ltd., the world’s leading independent developer, owner, and operator of open access, undersea and land-based fiber optic global telecommunications networks. Global Crossing, Ltd. was launched in May 1997.

Gary Winnick is also Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Capital Group, a principal equity investor and merchant bank. In addition, Winnick serves on the National Advisory Board to Chase Manhattan Bank, and is a director of Guber-Peters Entertainment Company and RB Industries, Inc.

The Winnick family foundations have established the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo at the Los Angeles County Zoo. The foundations have endowed Hillel Centers at three East Coast Universities and are major supporters of the Jewish Federation, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Tufts University Library. Mr. Winnick also serves as a Director on numerous boards, including Tufts University and the U.S. Holocaust Museum.
