Re: yesterday’s post, here’s another Baruch item, from 2011, in case you missed it the first time:

“When FDR was introducing Mme. Chiang Kai-sheck (sic) to some of his friends he said ‘This is Bernard M. Baruch. Bernie’s raised me for about 30 years.’ Baruch countered: ‘And don’t you think I’ve done a pretty good job of it?'”

    1. CW-2 Says:

      Jew Baruch was born and raised in South Carolina and appeared even to the critical observer to be fully assimilated to the American way of life. But in conversation with his old friend Ben Hecht he describes himself thus;
      “… think of me as one of your Jewish fighters in the tall grass with a long gun. I’ve always done my best work that way, out of sight”.
      ‘Nuff said!

    2. Tim McGreen Says:

      Oh yes, the Jew can be very chameleon-like. Mr. Baruch, to all appearances, looked very respectable and goyishe. But just below the surface, underneath the pince-nez glasses and arrow-collar shirts he was just another uncouth peddler of cheap trinkets and mangy camels outside of some caravanserai along the Silk Road.
