Last time I went was pre-Sandy. I'll tell you, Sandy cleaned up that nigger infested shit hole pretty good. The streets were cleaner, the smell was bearable. Though, many of the stores were permanently closed, I suspect it had more to do with looting than it had with flooding damage. I really expected to see a lot of damage, but the looting caused more damage than the hurricane.
