Orange County Sheriff's Office helicopter pilot temporarily blinded

A Winter Park man faces up to 20 years in federal prison for pointing a
laser at an Orange County Sheriff's Office helicopter and temporarily
blinding the pilot.

Frank Newton Anderson, 43, signed a plea agreement in Orlando federal
court, which was made public this week, admitting guilt to a count of
interfering with the operation of an aircraft.

According to his plea agreement, Anderson aimed a green laser beam at
the Sheriff's Office helicopter April 13 as it was flying over Mercy
Drive and Princeton Street in Orlando.
