Outrage over what appears to be an Oklahoma City University student in blackface.

Reportedly a photo circulating on social media shows an OCU freshman at an off campus costume party.

"Just the insensitivity is shocking to me,” said OCUalumni Sache Primeaux-Shaw.

Shocked and appalled were some of the emotions Sache Primeaux-Shaw felt when she saw this photo of apparent OCU students on Facebook.

"The other girl is in blackface, which is extremely offensive to the black community and offensive to me as a black person,” said Sache Primeaux-Shaw.

Reportedly the photo was taken at an off campus sorority party with a Beyonce theme, which spurred the student to dress up as Jay-Z, wearing blackface.

"You don't parade around like another group of people, like that's never OK,” said Sache Primeaux-Shaw

OCU President Robert Henry wrote in a statement:

"Our academic institution has a duty to educate not only in academics but in moral conduct. When confronted with evidence of a deep need for teaching, we must respond to the opportunity carefully and properly."

He also says the university has a zero tolerance police for discrimination or harassment, and that the incident is being investigated, and appropriate action will be taken.

"OCU is supposed to be a liberal university where people are accepted and they're known to be inclusive and apparently that wasn't the case,” said Sache Primeaux-Shaw.

Sache says this further proves that colleges and universities need to take more action to promote diversity and tolerance.

"I feel like Universities especially like my alma matter need to take the initiative like OU did and have a cultural competency component,” said Sache Primeaux-Shaw.
