Oh deer! Coyote dines in Wayland

WAYLAND - Twenty four hours after a coyote attacked and killed a deer in his yard, Yaacov Shapira was still staring at the bloodied carcass and fuming about the town's slow-footed response. "They know it's a public hazard and nothing doing," Shapira said yesterday as he waited for the town's animal control officer to haul away the half-eaten deer. "I think it's a scandal." (what a whiny fucking kike)

At about 4:30 p.m. yesterday, more than a day after the attack, Wayland's animal control officer removed the gruesome carcass.

Shapira and his neighbor, Gayle Stanney, who witnessed the attack blasted the town for taking too long to act. They called the dead deer a health hazard that demanded a quicker response.

"This is the sad part about this. The town does nothing," said Stanney, who described the town's actions as "reprehensible."

According to Shapira and Selectman Alan Reiss, because the deer was killed on private property, the town is under no obligation to remove it. Residents can hire the animal control officer, David Poirier, as a private contractor for $100 to do the work.

Reiss yesterday defended the town's actions, though he said he understood Shapira's demand for quicker service. The incident occurred on a weekend, Reiss said, and there is only one animal control officer.

"The expectation that someone should come out instantly is not realistic," he said. "People just have to be patient in these situations."

Reiss also pointed out that Poirier decided not to charge Shapira the $100 fee. (the honest French Canadian couldn't stand to hear the whining kike) Poirier, who as a private contractor could have refused to remove the deer, did not return a call seeking comment. (hehe, he didn't want to express his true feelings about Shapira)

"He did it out of the goodness of his heart to come and do this, and in the end he did it free of charge, so I'm pretty impressed with what happened," Reiss said.

Stanney said she was coming home Friday afternoon when she saw the coyote eating the deer in Shapira's yard. Shapira and his wife, Alva Nash Shapira, were not at home at the time.

"I thought I was going to be sick. It was terrible," said Stanney, who called police and was told the deer was Shapira's responsibility.

The coyote eventually walked across the street. At about 6 a.m. the next day, Shapira saw the coyote dragging the carcass across the yard toward the stone wall that separates his property from Stanney's, leaving a trail of blood in the snow.

A group of crows started picking at the body about an hour later. For the rest of the day the deer lay on its side, its bloody hind area visible from Shapira's and Stanney's property.

Shapira said he does not care about the $100 fee (yeah, because he didn't pay it!), but he argues the town should have responded immediately after Stanney called the police and billed him later because of the threat that the coyote would return.

"I was stunned," he said. "I thought, there can be a kid around. Who knows? There could be a dog around. A coyote can kill anything."

Hehe, go back to Brookline, Shapira! The wildlands of Wayland are just too much for ya Coyotes might eat you! Or maybe even, werewolves!
