Zimbabwe's white farmers say they have been invited to apply for land - in an apparent U-turn by the government which has seized their land.
All but 300 of the 4,000 white farmers have been forced off their land since President Robert Mugabe started his "fast-track" land reform in 2000.
A farmers' leader says some 200 applications have already been made and more are coming in.
Critics say the reforms have devastated the economy and led to massive hunger.

Much of the formerly white-owned land is no longer being productively used - either because the beneficiaries have no experience of farming or they lack finance and tools.
Many farms were wrecked when they were invaded by government supporters.

The government has admitted that the exercise has been beset by corruption.But Mr Mugabe blames Zimbabwe's economic problems on a plot by Western countries to topple him.
"There is an understanding that our members want to play a significant role in agriculture production, food security and generation of foreign currency for the country," Trevor Gifford, Commercial Farmers' Union vice-president told Reuters news agency.
"It is within this context that we were invited to submit the applications and I do know that instructions have been given to provincial land committees to process the applications and we are now awaiting responses," he said.
'No going back'
Didymus Mutasa, the minister in charge of land reform, could not be reached for comment.
But on Wednesday he said: "There is definitely no going back on our policy on land."
He also said that 99-year leases for commercial farms would be distributed by June, which he hoped would lead to higher agricultural output.
Earlier this year, Agriculture Minister Joseph Made told the BBC News website that any Zimbabwean was free to apply for land, whether white or black, as long as they used it.
Under colonial rule, the best agricultural land was reserved for whites - a policy which Mr Mugabe says he is trying to reverse.
But many white-owned farms were highly mechanised, productive businesses which formed the backbone of the economy.
The opposition says Mr Mugabe is using the land to buy votes.

These white Rhodesian farmers who go back while Mugabe is still in power have got to be the slowest learners on the planet.
Less than a year ago there was a similar news story:

One tobacco and cattle farmer, who was forced off his property by armed squatters in 2000, said: "He can't be serious. My house has been burnt down, my fields destroyed and he wants to invite me back?
"There has to be a proper return to respect for property rights. We need facts, not words and a legal framework. No one's going to go back on the basis of this."

This would be the equivalent of a nigger armed robber taking you into a back room to show
him how to open the safe. What do these Whites think will happen to them after Sambo is
taught how to run the farms?

Mugabe acts like the typical nigger. Kicks out all the productive whites in his country and then blames the white man ("Western democracies") for his own peoples' genetic inabilities.

The niggers in what is now "Haiti" begged the whites to come back. Then they murdered all the whites again. One nigger platoon actually used a white baby as a standard. They speared a white infant and raised the corpse up as a flag.

Blacks can't farm , anymore than havin mammy raise a row of yams . Beyond that, blacks have no concept of farming . Farming requires hard work, forethought , self-denial , saving , planning etc. All attributes that blacks lack .
Blacks are 13% or the US population and they do less ( actually far less ) than 1% of the farming . They don't carry their own load , never have, never will !
( you'll never hear NAACP talk about blacks not doing their fair share , never !)

Sure , that is what is needed . I don't think that whites have ever done that , except to other whites . Whites always want to save 'souls' and have cheap labor , you sure don't want to pay a living wage to a white man , do you ?
You know, there are various types of intelligence , math ,verbal , spatial etc.
Just because a person is a genius in one area doesn't mean that he is competent in others . Thinking in that same vein , whites are racial tards !

For white Rhodesians to accept Mugabe's offer to return would be like a woman who has been raped agreeing to marry the rapist.
Wait a couple of years until the country is prostrate, then go back and take it outright. And bring some SAS-trained mercs along to make it stick!

Seriously, how did the blacks in Zimbabwe/Angola/etc get to the point
of not being able to feed themselves? Has reliance on White colonialism
over a few generations done this? They obviously knew how to subsist
before Whites arrived. I recently watched some news story about the
famine in some African country (can't recall which), and they showed
the starving blacks collecting beetles and other insects. What caught
my eye was the fact that they were surrounded by lush grasses, trees,
and other vegetation - so obviously it is possible to grow SOMETHING.
But they just scrambled around the ground, picking up bugs, like some
sort of retarded children who were abandoned in the wild to fend for
themselves.
I just don't get it. How does something like this happen to a people?
What happened in the last couple of hundred years to undo tens of
thousands of years of evolution? They are still around, so they were
at least advanced enough to feed themselves. What changed?
