I'll just ramble a bit.
It is a strange day, today. The Dollar has tanked by about 2% against the Euro, and by that much or more against almost every currency. Oddly, though the Dollar has dropped against the Yen, it has only dropped a bit. Against everything else, it has plunged, and is continuing to plunge.
Usually when some market measure moves like this, other market measures move, in at least what appears to be correlated moves. For instance--and don't ask, I can't explain it--when the Dollar drops, the DJIA and other US indices, tend to rise. It makes no sense, but that is what usually happens.
Today, however, nothing much else is moving. Crude oil has risen a bit, but is still 10% or so below last weeks high. Gold and Silver prices, down for days now, have only barely risen today. The DJIA is piddling about...nothing there.
Someday, I'll get invited to the right cocktail parties and someone will explain all this to me.
