A website that highlights black criminal suspects in Quebec is now itself a target to be shut down. The Canadian Human Rights Commission agreed to start an inquiry into the website, dossiernoir.blogspot.com, after the Montreal-based Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations lodged a complaint last week. CRARR also made a complaint to Montreal police, who referred the matter to a Crown prosecutor. ''This site is reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan,'' said Fo Niemi, executive director of CRARR. ''It says anything bad that happens to a white person is because of someone who is black.'' Niemi said the site violates sections of the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code of Canada that forbid hate speech. Richard Warman, an Ottawa human rights lawyer, said the Internet is now the frontline for white supremacist and terrorist propaganda. ''It's the wave of the future. There's no need to hand out leaflets,'' said Warman, waho has won six online hate speech cases. The Supreme Court of Canada clearly defined hate speech as targeting a person or group for contempt or hatred because of race, among other factors, Warman said. A site found to contain hate speech could be ordered to shut down and face a $10,000 fine, Warman said. Dossier Noir, part of a hub for online discussion forums operated by Google-owned Blogger, had posted some of the names, addresses and phone numbers of black suspects in a recent high-profile gang rape case in Montreal. The information was removed last week. A comment posted on the site said comments will now be screened for ''moderation.'' Another posting said the site stands by its mission to highlight what it called ''anti-white racism.'' ''The multiple initiation-style assaults by street gangs, racist rapes and targeted home invasions are just a few examples of what Quebecers must endure day after day, year after year,'' reads a passage posted Friday by the site's main contributor, Alain Fisette. ''As if having light skin was something shameful and reduces our rights and freedoms, making us second-class citizens.'' Fisette could not be reached for comment Sunday. The site details recent criminal incidents involving black suspects and provides links to similar sites. Const. Olivier Lapointe, a spokesman for the Montreal police, said police are generally reluctant to make the race of suspects public. ''That's like adding fuel to the fire,'' he said. ''We only give that out if it's essential to the investigation.'' Niemi said the rights commission's bureaucracy could mean CRARR's complaint won't be dealt with for months. CRARR complained about another site, bcwhitepride.org, in the fall of 2003. Last fall, the commission referred the case to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, a separate body, which is set to hear the case in November. In the meantime, the commission advised Niemi to try to get Dossier Noir shut down through the Canadian Association of Internet Providers. Niemi said a CRARR staffer was preparing a formal request to the group to shut down the site. Barry Gander, the association's vice-president of communications, said Sunday he was not familiar with Dossier Noir, but confirmed sites have been shut down in co-operation with the sites' hosts.

This is an [color="Navy"]important legal victory for our cause! If the Canadian government were able to block access to any website they don't like, you could kiss goodbye the best means of disseminating cause related material, including e-books, articles, forums, and the whole range of online options we've been using to reach out to our people.

Sorry, this is no 'legal victory'. The main reason the CRTC ruled as they did is that there are way too many cross-border Internet connections already in place for the CRTC to just issue a blanket order forcing ISP's to block access to Overthrow.com.

In a letter to the law firm representing Warman, the commission said it would be inappropriate to consider granting the interim order without first giving Internet carriers and other interested parties the opportunity to comment.

"Such a public process would allow for consideration of the broader policy and legal issues regarding the scope, and appropriate use, of the commission's powers," wrote secretary-general Diane Rheaume.

What seems more likely is that the CRTC is essentially asking Canadian ISP's to propose methods whereby they /could/ implement such an order in the future.

Though, just like in america, a very good portion of our population are sheep. We havnt been "alright" in quite awhile. Either way, the harder they make it for us evil racists, the more support we will gain (worse is better). Dont take your freedoms for granted, they can be stripped away quite easily.

Though, just like in america, a very good portion of our population are sheep. We havnt been "alright" in quite awhile. Also, dont be so naiive to place all the blame on jews, weak willed white people are to blame just as much if not more.
