Police shoot gunman who opened fire during Ferguson anniversary protest

Police came under heavy gunfire late Sunday, sending both officers and demonstrators scrambling for cover during protests marking the one-year anniversary of the fatal shooting of Michael Brown by a police officer.
Protester DeRay McKesson, 30, said he heard gun shots "whiz past" him before he ran as fast as he could from the scene. McKesson said he saw police also run and take cover behind their vehicles.
"This feels like August of 2014 all over again," he said.
