DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― The events unfolded live before CBS 11 crews Saturday evening.
A shooting at a Dallas holiday celebration sent a teenage to the hospital. Isolated scuffles with Dallas police brought out pepper spray to disperse the crowd. One man was detained in handcuffs. Dallas Police reported two arrests, one for failure to disperse and resisting arrest. Another for assault.
Offices say these incidents were more likely tied to a surge of people leaving a rap concert, and not part of the earlier shooting outside the park.
The shooting happened as Kwanzafest was taking place at Fair Park Saturday afternoon.
A 15-year-old boy was injured in the shooting, he was hit in the behind and taken to Baylor University Medical Center, where he's said to be in good condition.
Over fifty officers had to work crowd control as the crowd from the automobile building left the fairgrounds. Specialized response teams from three patrol bureaus were called out. A SWAT unit was also called, but never had to be deployed.
Police are still trying to figure out how exactly the shooting happened. They believe a fight might have led to the shooting.
Assistant Cheif Floyd Simpson told CBS 11 "I don'tt know if this was a planned event, as a result of confrontation, or a random shooting by a person driving by."
Fair Park officials say all other events planned for Saturday evening went on without incident.

DALLAS — Shots were fired at the free KwanzaaFest 2008 celebration at Dallas Fair Park Saturday afternoon.
Dallas police said a 15-year-old boy was hit by gunfire. He was transported to Baylor University Medical Center, but his condition was not available.
Police said the shooting sparked a stampede, and fights broke out. Dozens of officers were called in and police set up a command post.
The 18th annual KwanzaaFest — featuring performances by R&B artists, gospel singers, jazz ensembles, dancers and more — had been scheduled to continue through 7 p.m., but was ended early after the incident.
KwanzaaFest is sponsored by AT&T and other businesses and is presented by Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price.
It was not known whether the event, at the Automobile Building, would continue on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. as originally planned.

The average kwan is of such low quality that he'd shoot himself if he had any self awareness.
