McCain wins Republican nomination
Senator John McCain has won the Republican Party nomination to run for president by sweeping all four of today's nominating contests, US media said.
The victories in Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island would give the 71-year-old Arizona senator more than the 1191 delegates to the party's national convention required to seal the nomination, CNN, Fox and MSNBC said.
