Eighteen Suspected Illegal Immigrants Arrested In Butler County
May 19, 2006 08:51 AM EDT
It wasn't a planned crackdown but the Butler County Sheriff's Department arrested 18 people suspected of being illegal immigrants.
It started when officers responded to a home construction site in Wayne Township. Someone there reported a disturbance.
Officers say that the language barrier made it difficult to find out the construction worker's legal status.
"Some of these individuals did present to us some documents that were obviously false and we'll more than likely pursue state criminal charges against some of those individuals," said Captain Norman Lewis of the Butler County Sheriff's Department.
The owner of the home would not speak to police and referred them to his attorney.
Police are also trying to find out who employed the workers.

Cincinnati area law dares to stand up to the federal kwa, way to go!
Great! That cop said he was going to CHARGE the Federal Government for jailing illegals. Hope he does!
That Sheriff just kicks ass. Last year he said publiclly that he was getting sick & tired of housing, feeding, and maintaining illegals who wound up in his jail on county taxpayer's dimes. He sent a bill to the federal govt., (not sure specifically to who) and it got a hell of a positive reaction in Cincinnati area. This is a pretty g.w. bush loving conservative area so it is very cool to see Whites support one of their own as he busts his ass to enforce the law as it is meant to be enforced.
