Rabbi Gavriel Bodenheimer was sentenced yesterday morning to three years of “sex offender probation,” a source close to the case told FailedMessiah.com.

He pleaded guilty in July to to endangering the welfare of a child – a misdemeanor.

Bodenheimer was originally charged with three felony counts of a first-degree criminal sexual act and one count of first-degree sex abuse for alleged oral and anal sex with a 5-year-old child and could have served 25 years in prison.

But the generous plea deal guaranteed Bodenheimer, a respected local yeshiva head, would not serve even a day in prison.

The victim's family supported the deal because it saved their now 12-year-old son from having to testify in open court, prosecutors said.

Bodenheimer’s unusual sentence calls for him to be forbidden entrance to any school where children under the age of 18 are present, the source said. He also may not leave Rockland County without the express permission of his Sex Offender Probation officer.

WOW Mr. Barron I'm shocked! If you really want to know the truth, the Rabbi never did anything to the boy. That's a fact. It's also a fact that he had no choice but to plead guilty. For anyone who knows how the criminal justice system really works, you understand why he plead guilty. This boy is a liar, his parents are liars, his grand-parents are liars and everyone who supported him was/is gullible to a liar. They caused more pain then the crime Rabbi Bodenheimer was accused of committing. The Rabbi was given a generous sentence because there was no crime against his accuser. He voluntarily took a polygraph at the DA's request, and passed. This man is no criminal. As for his defense attorney, there are many who are far better whom you can learn from. If it were true, the Rabbi would never have been allowed to remain Principal among all those children until 10/27. Next time ask someone who really knows, before you say "WTF".
