I was traveling through Mississippi on Saturday and several military vehicles traveling in as many directions. It was after all a Saturday and apparently the weekend warriors were playing their games of life and death. (Likely to be yours and mine.)
However, I saw this one convoy of military vehicles traveling in the opposite direction that intrigued me. I had never seen such vehicles in these particular configurations and thought they were photo worthy. Just so happened that I had my best camera with me so I made the necessary course corrections and was able to take the following images.
Note that these vehicles are marked as U.S. Air Force inventory. I suspect that these are some sort of 'crowd control' personnel carriers with the option of having a machine gunner on top although he wouldn't be very well protected from incoming fire with their current configuration.
Some of you have doubted some of my observations of various unusual circumstances and situations in the past but I will try and document any future such items as in this instance so that they will not be dismissed with the worn out name calling propaganda.
'Camps' are Marine Corps bases while 'Forts' are Army bases. It appears that Camp Shelby is a Marine Corps base of some sort. Maybe those Mississippi posters will have more info on Camp Shelby. Likely some sort of National Guard Marine Corps training base although clearly it's being used for all branches of the military.
I welcome any and all comments and observations.
