Come now, is this true art or just the kind of stuff you see on bank calendars and coffee mugs? True art has something to say, it makes you think, it makes you ponder. I don’t feel anything when I look at this kind of stuff. It’s not sublime, it’s not ironic, it’s not revolutionary. I’ll stick with Eugène Delacroix and John Singer Sargent, thank you very much.

Art needs to “say something”? I disagree. Art can simply be plain beauty, and nothing more.
