Rusch, a student at St. John Fisher School, has spent much of his life in hospitals.

Rusch has had three heart surgeries to treat a defective valve and was awaiting a fourth surgery, said Cheryl Lenard, an assistant Cook County state’s attorney.

Lenard spoke Tuesday afternoon before Cook County Juvenile Court Judge Carol Kelly, who found that there was enough probable cause to have the 16-year-old suspect detained.

That teen, dressed in a white T-shirt and black basketball shorts, appeared next to his lawyer, Charles Snowden. His mother was in court too.

The suspect allegedly told police that he had targeted the boy to rob.

“He said he chose Ryan Rusch to mess with because he was a goofy looking white boy,” Lenard said in court.

The suspect allegedly took the family’s cell phone from the boy’s pocket and rode off, Lenard said.

An off-duty Chicago police officer who witnessed the attack then chased the teen and called police from his cell phone, Lenard said.

Chicago police found the boy about 15 minutes later, Lenard said.

Rita Shanahan, a West Beverly resident whose home abuts the park, said she noticed three teen boys riding bicycles west on 102nd Street and across South Artesian Avenue, where the street dead-ends by a Park District facility.

One rode alone, while the other two boys shared a bike, she said.

Shanahan said she chatted with another mom and thought little of the youngsters until she saw them riding east on 102nd Street followed by two neighborhood teens chasing them on foot.

“There were a lot of things happening at once. Right then we heard the ambulance and knew something must be wrong,” Shanahan said.

When she went to the back of her house, she saw paramedics lifting a boy onto a stretcher.

She recognized him and called his mother.

When Shanahan told Rusch’s mother he would be going to Christ Medical Center, she replied: “That’s his home away from home.”

Rusch, who will be in the 8th grade in the fall, is a determined pupil, said Sister Jean McGrath, principal of St. John Fisher.

“He’s a fighter,” McGrath said. “With his heart problems, we would send work to the hospital and he would try to keep up.”

Rusch’s classmates describe him as a gentle, helpful boy.

“He was the football team manager because he couldn’t play,” said Nick Schultz, 14. “He would just help coaches out with drills and stuff like that.”

Snowden denied the robbery and battery allegations and said the teen, a student at Corliss High School, has never had any problems with the law.

“He attends school regularly and is an average student. He minds his mother, he is not a problem at home,” Snowden said.

The judge ordered the boy appear before another judge in Juvenile Court on Monday.

I literally felt a wave of revulsion reading this story.

I’ve said it a thousand times — this country was civilized only when such matters were dealt with by vigilante justice. Nothing less than a quick brutal hanging — with the body left to twist and serve warning to others — would provide justice for Master Rusch

I served as a prosecutor for almost 2 years, and I can attest that the criminal (in)justice system in AmeriKa (the “K” is for “Kosher”) is a sick joke. Trials should be conducted only where there is a question of guilt. Where there is no question as to culpability – as here, and as in most Negro wilding cases — the rope should be employed post-haste.

Unless he has priors, this nigger serves less than 6 months, if at all. And Probation? Please…….the jigs that “serve” as probation officers in big cities just falsify their reports each month, so as to be able to spend more time on their couches, holding themselves and looking at the television.

The other scam I hear of is that a couple will follow one into a restaurant or other restroom and whack one on the back of the head while at the urinal.
