Israel lobby funded half of Keir Starmer’s cabinet
Exclusive: Labour’s top team has accepted hundreds of thousands of pounds from pro-Israel funders.
Pro-Israel lobbyists have donated to 13 out of Labour’s 25 cabinet members since they were first elected to parliament, Declassified can reveal.
The list of recipients includes prime minister Keir Starmer, his deputy Angela Rayner, chancellor Rachel Reeves, foreign secretary David Lammy and home secretary Yvette Cooper.
Jonathan Reynolds, who will oversee arms exports to Israel as UK trade secretary, is another beneficiary, alongside Labour’s election mastermind Pat McFadden, whose responsibilities now include national security.
Some of the donations were provided by Labour Friends of Israel (LFI), a lobby group which takes MPs on “fact-finding” missions to the region.

(JTA) – A British lawmaker who has said that he supports Zionism will replace Jeremy Corbyn as the head of Britain’s Labour Party. Keir Starmer, who managed the party’s Brexit approach under Corbyn, won 52 per cent of the vote in the Labour leadership election, whose results were announced Saturday. His share of the votes was almost double that of the runner-up, Rebecca Long-Bailey, a close ally of Corbyn.

In February, Starmer, a 57-year-old human rights lawyer, told The Jewish News that he would tackle antisemitism within the Labour Party “from day one” if elected the party’s leader. He told the news organization that his wife, attorney Victoria Alexander, comes from a Jewish family and has family in Israel, where he said he hoped to travel soon with his two children. “I absolutely support the right of Israel to exist as a homeland,” Starmer told the British Jewish newspaper. He added, “I support Zionism without qualification.”
