Sara Dorsey joined Tampa Bay’s 10 News in 2005, bringing a great deal of reporting experience to the station. Prior to joining Tampa Bay's 10 News she worked as a correspondent for CNN where she told the world about many big stories important to the Tampa Bay area, such as the hurricanes of 2004 and the tragic Jessica Lunsford and Sara Lunde cases. Other major stories she covered while at CNN include the Atlanta crane jumper, a story which originated in Florida, the presidential debate in Miami, the Runaway bride, Atlanta courthouse shooting, Michael Jackson’s jury selection and the sentencing of Eric Rudolph.

Before CNN she worked at WOI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, as a crime and court reporter. There she also had the opportunity to become involved in political reporting while covering the Iowa Caucuses. She started her television news career at WKAG in Hopkinsville, KY, a small station where she was able to do just about everything related to news, including anchoring.

A graduate of Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Mo, Sara earned a B.A in Communications with a certificate in writing. She enjoys the warm Florida weather, reading and traveling across the country visiting friends and family. She is proud to say that her most significant, life-changing event was watching her mother successfully fight breast cancer.

Sara lives in Tampa with her two cats Boz (10 years old) and Shoney (11 years old).
