Alllergies: my nose is red and my car is yellow

I've had big allergy problems this year. With the longer cold season, even in Florida, the plants didn't slowly emerge from their winter slumber over a few months.

The sudden warming has caused an explosion of pollen, as all the plants and trees are shouting "Spring is here!" That combined with three weeks of high winds has caused my sinuses to revolt.

The constant sneezing, dripping, and nose-blowing is beyond annoying. My nose is a faint shade of red, despite using Puffs with lotion, and my once blue car has a greenish hue from the yellow pollen stuck to every surface.

I should have bought stock in Proctor & Gamble, the maker of Puffs, three months ago. I am surely helping their share price to soar with all the tissues I've bought.

I take prescription Allegra, which helps, but it's not perfect. I've tried all the other pills, and Allegra is the best for me. I've read about an injection, but I'm leery of all these shots that the doctors want to fill you with. I'm not so miserable that I want to be pumped full of some steroid.

So, I push onward, armed with my Puffs and moisturizing lotion. It's supposed to rain here tonight and tomorrow, which may help. The last time it rained it knocked a lot of the pollen down and washed it away. The next day was wonderful.

What else is there to consider? Maybe it's time to Google "sinus transplant"?
