Belly up to the bar: Keegan Ales opening brew pub
By Katie Young, Freeman staff02/18/2007
THERE won't be any intimate tables for two at Keegan Ales' soon-to-open brew pub on St. James Street in Kingston.
Owner Tom Keegan III envisions more of a German beer garden environment
, with large picnic tables that encourage strangers to mingle and a deli counter with hot panini sandwiches.
"We're going to have a lot of regulars and locals, so hopefully they'll meet each other and come back," Keegan said of his picnic table plan.
KEEGAN began the brewing business 3{ years ago, branching off from his father's brew pub on Long Island.
Keegan Ales' red brick building off Broadway, on the border of Uptown and Midtown Kingston, housed the Woodstock Brewing Co. in the 1990s but sat dormant for a couple of years until Keegan set up shop in 2003.

Sounds like a nice place to visit.
