Or rather, "fact". I'll leave "truth" to the religious fundamentalists who have a stroke if they see a Cosmology book. Facts are my passion, and many Facts are out there ready to blow up in many people's faces because of the terrifying realities they represent.
I'm not even sure why I'm here right now, I'm bored. But I think I have a few things to say that will interest and enrage many people, simply because they are facts, stripped naked of tact or bias, and I think just about everyone knows them already; it's just that to admit them to oneself is unthinkable.
Racial diversity is generally a well-meant, huge mistake. The problem now is essentially that, in America anyways, we've got it and have to deal with it. The African-American population, in particular, poses a sad problem that has not even a very difficult solution: the "white men" of a long-gone age brought a naturally inferior race over here, gave them all the reasons in the world to hate us, and now they're free and hate us. I must stress that this is a general fact, of course there are countless African-Americans who far surpass the average Caucasian in every capability. But to rely on this as proof of genetic racial equality is moralistic fallacy. Rather than quote the exhaustive scientific evidence, I'll just pose a few questions: why do blacks represent so much of the criminal/prison population? The poor? Why do they, in general, exhibit lower I.Q scores, regardless of every imaginable environmental influence? Last but not least, Why is Africa such a Godforsaken crap-hole? ... And rap music sucks.
Female sexuality needs another revolution. I don't know what should be done, but I do know that turning back the clock 400 years-- the apparent goal of many religious types-- is not going to happen without a nuclear apocalypse. "It's my body"-- sure it is, babe-- until you use it to hurt others. A big man goes to jail for punching a smaller one with his fist. "He looked weak, it just seemed like it would be fun". Now, a sexy woman flaunts her goods before the eyes of a man whom God saw fit to equip with an ugly face, a flabby body, and no charm. This man will die without knowing the pleasure of making love with someone to whom he's mutually attracted, for reasons beyond his control. This breach of rights is more complex, but the pain it causes is the same. Women are not men's sexual equals, and they need to get over themselves and take responsibility for their God-given power. In a more mature legislature, any woman who takes three or more lovers a week is forbidden by law to spurn the advances of any man.
The institution of child-bearing needs to be stripped of its holiness. You have a right to bear arms-- but your right to bear children is highly questionable. Children who are raised by single parents, or in hurtful/abusive environments, are far more likely to take from society far more than they contribute. A free country must find that even legal indulgences come with price tags: being a parent is a serious thing, but reproductive irresponsibility has no cultural enemies anymore. Both man and woman have a job in raising a kid that's less likely to shoot you if you look at him cross-eyed. It's easy to blow this off as uptight idealism, but the asshole rate in this country is steadily rising, don't you think?
And oh yeah, a military comprised mostly of youths from impoverished areas. There are many reasons why America has become so Balkanized. What if the kids in the army look at some senator's gleaming limo, throw down their guns, and just say "what's in this for me and my family?"?
