I was going home tonight from a more or less nice evening with some friends in a relatively White part of London.

At the train station I’m checking the times on the clock when I hear a black spitting near me as I walk past. I couldn’t actually tell whether it was a male or female at first. They were of small build with their hair in a tight platts and a puffy jacket and trousers. A more or less androgynous being, it was somewhere between about 15-18 I would guess. They were alone.

In the end it was decided that is was female.

(Apparently a lot of whites don’t realise that blacks are spitting at them, or they might unconsciously realize it but can’t face it, or make allowances for it (‘street culture’ etc.) We’ve written about this before… You should see the look on their faces when they realize.

This female being I could see was unrestrained and not afraid of me. I’m a pretty big guy. And that puts me in a position where I honestly don’t know what to do.

The look on its face is vacant, with no sense that there could be consequences to what they are doing. Mixed with anger, indignation that I exist, and a deep rooted, almost instinctual and unquestioning assumption that I’m supposed to accept this.

Then they spat again as I walked back the other way.
