Jamaican writer Michael Dingwall stated that contrary to popular opinion. He states slavery was the black man's first contact with "modernity". He states that this contact with "europeans" was beneficial for both the slaves and blacks that stayed in Africa.
Too bad he didn't dig a little deeper and he may have substituted the word "europeans" with Jews.
