How do you folks feel about body armor? Period. It gives you the edge in a fight in my opinion. I know a lot of movement leaders wear it from time to time as well as some secmen.

Depends.
In a combat situation, yea I want it. And throw in Tac-Air support and artillery if you can. My point being I want every edge I can possibly have. Death is rather final.
As for movement people wearing it, when it's appropriate to the situation, I have no major reservations. Public rally with tons of muds? Might be prudent. Interview from your home on CNN? Not so much.
who's a good vendor for this now? used stuff or new? state law restrictions if any? protection ratings? might as well make this an informational thread. I dont have time to put that stuff up now but maybe someone else can research that.
Body armor???
Jeesh! What a bunch of "lightweights." You'd better be more prepared than simply strapping on a vest. By way of illustration, here's a pic of me visiting the gf this past Valentine's Day:

Seriously though -- chest-protecting body armor is a pretty good idea when venturing into "naughty" neighborhoods or readying yourself to get busy in a SHTF scenario. But, it's not the end-all solution to every potentially dangerous situation. Some years back, I was watching G. Gordon Liddy on his cable televitz show. He was lecturing folks -- believe it or not -- on how to combat feds (BATF, FBI, DEA, etc.) in a firefight. Since these G-men are easily spotted simply by the jackets they're wearing identifying which depts. they belong to, and you can be absolutely sure they're wearing body armor underneath, he suggested practicing head shots, as this way you're not wasting precious split seconds shooting at an area of the body that your ammo's going to have no or very limited effect on -- though of course this just augments the argument for wearing body armor in the first place.
Now, for any and all of ZOG's minions out there who may be monitoring this board, let me just make clear that I'm not trying to clue people in on how to effectively shoot it out with you guys. I'm simply relating what G. Gordon Liddy said on a nationally-televised TV show. So there...

The bullets don't simply bounce-off. The target still suffers the full force of the bullet's impact. In fact, kevlar can cause more damage by ensuring full ballistic energy transfer from the the round into you, instead of the round simply passing through soft tissue and causing little damage. Think baseball bat at full swing to the chest. A magnum round at close range - even if the round fails to penetrate the vest - will cause the vest to penetrate you. Meaning broken ribs, damaged organs, etc. Of course, hollow points wouldn't pass through you anyway, so you are definitely better off with the armor. I'd rather be wearing my vest if I were shot with a handgun. But without the military grade plating, a big rifle at a fair distance, or a big handgun at close range will probably kill both you and your armor.
Vote from the rooftops
Good concealable kevlar armor is a good thing to have. In a combat situation it is an edge, and even a small advantage is worth the extra weight and cost. For wearing on the street, the crackheads will probably not be thinking that you are wearing it and that could save your ass if you are jumped and mugged,. ect. The proper use of tactics to take cover and return accurate fire are the best protection, but if your enemy gets off the first shot the armor may be the difference between going home or not.

This is the body armor is called Dragon Skin, and is the armor that the soldiers aren't allowed to have, for some illogical reason.

I have a level IIIA vest - not concealable - with level IV ceramic inserts which will stop a .30-06 at essentially point blank range. However the ceramic plates are very uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. Even without the plates, though, it will stop essentially all handgun rounds. It also has a 5"x8" trauma plate that rests over the heart and will reduce damage from blunt trauma.

The generals get to wear it though...
"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information."

IF I were going into combat, being shipped off to Iraq, or going hunting with Dick Cheney, then wearing body armour would certainly be warranted.
As for "movement" people wearing body armour to rallies (particularly of the Nazi Dress up variety where there are a mere handful of people as we've seen in recent NSM rallies, where they are protected by hundreds of cops) -it is not only NOT warranted, and a display of cowardice and over exaggeration of self-importance - I would feel silly wearing body armour. Actually, I would DIE of embarassment!
What (a lot) of "movement leaders" would that be? Please be specific if you can.

If you want to get an idea of how useful (and effective) body armour can be, check out the news accounts of the North Hollywood bank robbery where the perps wore full body armour.

Watch some of the 44 minutes of actionwhere they use up over 1500 rounds of ammo. Even Bob Matthews would have been impressed.

Body armour is effective, that is why George W. Bush outlawed it for american troops in Iraq. He wants american soldiers to die. Only less effective body armour bought for a ridiculous price from a jew is allowed.

Wouldn't help. Dick Cheney aims for the head. He must've been listening to G. Gordon Liddy.
Body armor is for pussies.

Shitty Body Armor
Why just the other day, the NY Times reported that a Pentagon study found that as many of 80% of marines killed in Iraq from wounds to the upper body could have survived if they had extra body armor.
Today I read at Soldiers For Truth, the US Army/USMC won't let soldiers deploy if they have purchased Pinnacle's Dragon Skin Body Armor and furthermore, if they were killed in action wearing it, their loved ones wouldn't collect from the $400,000 SGLI life insurance policies. The story reports that ALL commercially manufactured body armor is forbidden... however the story also reports that there are 9 generals in Afghanistan supposedly 'evaluating' the armor. hmm. Do generals actually see any combat?
The only body armor allowed in the Army/USMC is the Interceptor OTV which apparently is not that good.
But guess who makes it? The dad who spent $10 million on his daughter's bas mitzvah! Ah what a fabulous government contract.
Again its from a blogger, take it for what its worth.
