George Edward Pickett

Died July 30, 1875 in Norfolk, VA
Buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA

He was most famous for his division's participation in what was called 'Pickett's charge' at Gettysburg on the 3rd day of the battle. His division was virtually destroyed in that charge.

His career in the Confederate Army had ups and downs. Overall, I place him somewhat above average in his abilities. Notice he shares his middle name with perhaps the best known and most admired of the Confederate generals, Robert Edward Lee.
