We're stressing Indian callers

CALL-CENTRE workers in India are having nervous breakdowns after being abused by fed-up Australians – but they aren't getting much sympathy.

For some of the workers, abuse and overnight working hours are contributing to stress, sleeping disorders, fatigue and migraines.

A survey of Mumbai call centres found most call-centre workers suffer from burn-out stress syndrome.

The abuse included racial taunts, the Global South Research Group survey found.

"Racial abuse by foreign customers is a job hazard that most employees have to deal with," a report on the survey says.

"The US and Australia are the worst abusers," said Vino Shetty, from his Young Professionals Collective office in Mumbai.

James Organ, director of Australian research organisation Callcentres.net, said "lots of poor innocent Indian workers" were abused regularly by Australians.

.. don't they call Canada? or are Canadians too scared to tell the ragheads where to go?

Hahahaha!

I certainly did my part. After having to deal with Dell support from India one day, I was so pissed at them that I told them,"fuck you and fuck all the god dammed dot heads in India," then I hung up. They deserve all the crap they get. They do nothing but read off of a script and have no discretion to do otherwise. You can't understand them because of their accent and the delay in communication from the other side of the planet. It's infuriating. I think everyone should give them shit just out of principle.

I always hang up whenever I hear a Asian,Nigger or Spic answer on the other end.

If it is a occasion where I absolutely have to use that service,THEN it becomes a challenge as how I can circumvent the nonwhite creature or do without.Period.

Service,delivery and maintenance people who are nonwhite never receive an answer at my door.

I will only shop and use white,or white predominate, facilities and establishments.If this means I have to travel a longer distance,at more inconvenience and expense;then I will do so.No nonwhite waiters,clerks,service counter people or cashiers.

To me,this is the very bear minimum that I can do to show my disapproval to owners,managers and employers of nonwhites.:cool:

This is one subject which I have been able to post about on lemming boards and get a very positive response. No English speaking American likes to call a customer service center in the middle of a tech crisis only to be more frustrated by some subhuman middle easterner working for 75 cents an hour. I almost always seize the opportunity to yell at them and demand to speak to a "White Person":D Back when I used AT&T wireless as my cell provider my customer service calls were always routed to ebonics speaking niggers in Texas:eek: which is just as maddening. I now have a Kentucky based cell provider whose customer service agents are mostly females with a Southern drawl:cheers:

I know exactly what you mean, Demonica. Whenever I have to call for service, govt., private, whatever, when it is an American that answers, it'll be a nigger. They always talk like they can't move their lips and have a warm, wet, dog turd wallowing around in their mouths.

Standard procedure is to have to go through three niggers on average, take ever so long, finally get to a White person, and TA! DA! Problem solved almost at once.

When I recieve or make a call to Master Card Canada out of Toronto, 75% of the time I get some mud immigrant with an accent so thick, I can cut it with a knife. Sometimes I can be somewhat rude. If I'm not sure of the accent, I will ask them were there from and expect an answer. I will make a point of being polite if I get a person who speaks perfect English or if the person with an accent is of EUROPEAN decent (which is rare).

If you want to hire someone to answer phones, isn't the most important qualification a nice sounding voice and good English skills?? When I press 1 for service in English, I expect good Canadian English, not bastardized English from some non-white immigrant invader with a thick accent.

This reported by our "friends" the BBC awhile ago - made me chuckle when i read it as i have to deal with dell on a daily basis and they are all in india and there english skills are laughable at best......

I was working onsite for a two clients yesterday.

The first client (Accountant for Building Contractor) mentioned that she had always bought Dell computers and then the subject turned to their poor quality tech support. She said "I'm not prejudiced but..." and went on to complain about the difficulty of communicating with them. Her reaction is fairly typical.

The second one, a retired professor (Political Science) told me the last time that he called Dell for tech support, he asked them where they were located - when they responded "India" he immediately hung up. That was actually the first time I had heard of anyone doing that.

This issue is the only one with racial/national implications that I really get to talk about freely with people. They universally agree that it is not good - but I haven't heard anyone say explicity racist statements.

About the only good thing is that it is job security for me and for other skilled techs. White Americans are VERY happy to call a company which will answer the phone immediately, listen to their problem, and fix it for them, even if it costs money.

You ever notice how the women on this forum will post here, for example, but not show the same amount of emotional involvement in threads where White men (i.e. Duke players) are being raked over the coals?

Don't mind me though, just trying to make trouble.
