I purchased some silver coins tonight from someone needing cash. I paid $9 per face value or $61 in paper notes.

It appears that one coin alone is worth a minimum of $60 and could be worth several hundred to several thousand. It's an 1830 "Capped Bust" half dollar and looks like the one below.

Also bought a 1909 Barber half dollar which also appears to be worth somewhere between $75-$175.

Silver dollars 1880, 1881, 1921, and 1922.

I would be interested to know if anyone has any additional information on the 1830 Capped Bust half dollar.
