I hear many claim that this is largely a hoax, possibly as a means of controlling the people and a method for the government to make money via imposing taxes and fines etc when we break certain rules regarding the environment. I also believe that huge business plays a major part in this as well. What puzzles me is what would the big corporations have to gain from it? Surely reducing fuel consumption, using less electric, washing at lower temperatures (sounds ridiculous, I know) and trying to reduce your carbon footprint altogether would result in firms losing out on revenue? What do they know that we don't? Have they discovered a new way of making a killing through new technology, or are they trying to hoard all the resources for themselves for when another major war kicks off?
