The best example of current American 'heroism' I know of is the guys that get to lay back in their Aeron chairs in the air-conditioned control room in Florida and squeeze the little red button on the joystick as they watch a Predator UAV shoot a Hellfire missile into another group of Afghan or Iraqi resistance fighters 12,000 miles away.
