Disturbed to see that a number of good men have died recently. Good not because I agree with their politics but because they wrote/edited stuff that was consistently educational in the serious sense. These good men are: Ray Bradbury, Paul Fussell, Northrup Frye and Hilton Kramer. Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451. Fussell wrote a number of works, including one of my all-time favorites, Class. Kramer edited New Criterion, a serious arts journal. In many ways he was just another neocon, but you could learn a lot from reading his essays about writers and artists generally.

Article on political views as genetically based, which I firmly believe. It doesn't cut as simply as left-right as the writer suggests, though.

Article on the future of education. Well, we've been hearing brick classrooms are outdated since I was writing about that stuff in the early nineties, but it's far from all online yet. Notice the main subject of the article is a German guy, at the forefront of a revolution that will provide the very best instruction the world has to offer for a reasonable price to anyone in the world on a computer. As always it strikes me this is an area that WN have signally failed to make any advance in, in any formal sense.

Here's an article in Yale's alumni magazine discussing the Madison Grants and other racialists that used to be common there back in the civilized day. Back then racial preservation of whites was driven by the same mindset that set up the national park system. Indeed, notable today, if you read the state wildlife magazines, is that they write about 'undesirable species' and 'invaders' without qualm or quiver. But to apply the same reasoning to human species would be Incorrect hence unthinkable. But if you're concerned about the future of, say, Missouri the fair, it is the meta-concern beside which the rest pale into the colorless insignifcance of a translucent cave-pool critter.

Paul Fussell died. He's most famous for writing about how World War One was written/thought about. Stuff I've read, but never really understood, as it doesn't seem deep or important to me. All you can demand of someone presenting himself as a smart guy is that he actually knows something worth knowing and can communicate it, at least, effectively, and, at most, brilliantly, memorably, entertainingly. I learned as much from Fussell as from any other writer; like John Murray Cuddihy he tied a lot my observations into patterns I was too dim or ignorant to make out. So from him I received a true education - drawn out of gulping whirlheaded confusion into perspective and enlightenment.

Here's an interview with jew Finkelstein. After jew Dershowitz got him blacklisted, what has he been up to? He lives in a 1BR apt, in a heavily jewish area - contrasted with jew Dersh, whom he claims lives among the tony goyim. My objection to Finkelstein is that he doesn't carry his analysis through to the natural starting point: were there really gas chambers run by the Nazis? Did the Nazis actually kill six million? He does not, as far as I know, ever entertain these questions. His entire 'thing' seems to be that the suffering his parents endured during the WWII period, which for all I know may have been real, was not acknowledged by the jews who created and profited from the 'Holocaust' industry. As always, notice that jewish publications intended for jews are written at an adult level. Whereas jewish publications for goyim are always always written with a breathy stupidity worthy of, at most, an eighth-grade cheerleading squad. I don't care what jebus and the booble say, it is not good to be stupid; nay, it is bad. Educate yourself, white man. It is not a thing you can acquire passively from the jails called public schools. Reading, thinking, observing, experiencing, talking to intelligent men -- going back and forth between these is how you gain genuine insight and understanding.
