Gorbachev: 'Americans Have a Severe Disease'
July 12, 2006 — Mikhail Gorbachev is generally regarded as the man who broke down the "iron curtain" that separated the communist world from the West and thawed the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union.
Now, 15 years after a coup removed him from power and the Soviet Union dissolved, he has some stern words for the United States, whose relationship with Russia has soured lately.
"We have made some mistakes," he said, referring to recent attacks on Russia's democracy. "So what? Please don't put even more obstacles in our way. Do you really think you are smarter than we are?"
The former general secretary of the Soviet Union Communist Party
accused Americans of arrogance and trying to impose their way of life on other nations.
[color="Blue"]"Americans have a severe disease — worse than AIDS. It's called the winner's complex," he said. "You want an American style-democracy here. That will not work."Gorbachev found a partner in former President Bush in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
During their time in power, communism fell in East Germany, when Germans tore down the legendary wall separating the democratic West from the communist East.
The collapse of communism quickly spread across eastern Europe, and the leaders worked together to create a partnership in the changing world
Gorbachev, however, is wry about the current president, George W. Bush.
"He's very determined," Gorbachev said. "You can't say he does not have character."
The former Soviet leader had severe criticism for two of the most important people in the Bush administration: Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.
"They are just hawks protecting the interests of the military — shallow people," he said.

Let be honest, the only way the 'Kwa's hubris and arrogance can be tamed is if we are 1) militarily humiliated or 2) suffer an economic catastrophe.
The Jews and their appeasers have set this nation on a path for suicide. Frankly, I don't see any mechanism standing in the way - except for a catastrophe.
A White World (Pierce's Vision for our Race):
Let be honest, the only way the 'Kwa's hubris and arrogance can be tamed is if we are 1) militarily humiliated or 2) suffer an economic catastrophe.
Or both.
Gorby is quoting the late Sir James Goldsmith, who said the same thing. The Kwa has a terminal illness, it's got to do with seeing the world as a slot machine and not people, and so on.
Neither guy knew any "Americans", they only knew the jerks who run the place and the crap they see on the tube. Happily, there are lots of people working on alternatives to both.
“When I get re-elected I'm going to fuck the Jews" -- Jimmy Carter, 1980.
Their embassy here has the road totally blocked off with some kind of giant fire hydrant looking steel or iron painted knobs. There are some painted concrete barriers too. (The back of the building, abutting my back yard, has vaulting 24 foot polished stainless steel 4" or 6" poles a few inches apart). But at the front, they have these things straight across a public street at both ends. In other words, the quaint street literally ceases to function as a street where it hits the edges of the American embassy's property. You can tell we're really loved everywhere we roam. Perhaps if we pragmatically decided we needed to fuel our tens of millions of cars more than we need a daily diet of the horrors of the holybollocks... But Gawd in Hayven would surely smite us then!

You just gotta dig the irony of this. Commies have no conscience at all.
Materialists love to do things the hard way.
