It boggles the mind the lengths that the Jewish supremacists will go to in order to set up a potential host nation for future exploitation. Of course they work it so that America picks up the tab. By my math we can chalk up another $262,000,000 IN U.S. TAX PAYER DOLLARS spent so far on this little media operation designed to help secure the interests of that lousy zionist dirt patch off the Jordan river, read on --

Iraq: Insurgents Target Media
By Tim Donahue

Prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration placed its Arab-language propaganda efforts under the operational control of fanatical Zionist Norman J. Pattiz (pictured). As chairman of the Middle East Committee of the U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors, Pattiz oversees television and print media in Iraq.

Billionaire Pattiz, 60, is founder and chairman of Westwood One, the largest radio network in the United States, with 7,500 stations. He's also an active force at the Israel Policy Forum (IPF) -- a think-tank that coordinates pro-Israel propaganda. IPF meets regularly with key Israeli politicians and hosts monthly roundtable discussions where prominent American Jews of the media and government meet with Israeli leaders in brainstorming sessions.

Pattiz created and now operates Al Hurra and Radio Sawa. Al-Hurra is an Arabic-language satellite TV channel that operates 24/7 out of Springfield, Virginia. It went online in 2004. The network cost U.S. taxpayers $62 million in its first year, including an extra $40 million for around the clock broadcasting to Iraq. It now drains $37 million annually for recurring operational costs.

Radio Sawa is a 24-hour boom-box operation targeting Iraqis with a meticulously researched blend of music, peppered with carefully crafted propaganda segments on the half-hour. It was launched in March of 2002 and is fully U.S. taxpayer-funded. An enthusiastic Congress has been more than generous in endowing the new station with an initial budget of $35 million, with another $22 million per year since. The station has its offices in Israel.

Pattiz and his associates also operate Radio Free Iraq, Al-Iraqiya television, and its posited "rival," Baghdad Television. Al-Iraqiya television is prudently positioned as being Shiite controlled, while Baghdad Television is depicted as being in Sunni hands. Complete with appropriate front-men.

Al-Hurra, Radio Sawa, Baghdad Television, Radio Free Iraq, Al-Iraqiya, and the rest of the Pattiz empire, is supposed to make Iraqis feel good about the Bush administration's blind support of Israel and its installation of an Israel-friendly regime.

However, so-called insurgents have targeted Pattiz media, killing more than 70 "news" people since U.S. forces toppled President Saddam Hussein three years ago.

Last Saturday, Amjad Hameed, 45, a former cameraman and programming executive who had helped run Al-Iraqiya television since July, was shot several times in the face and chest after the assailants cut off his car as he headed to work in central Baghdad. He died instantly, police said. Al-Iraqiya management reports that since 2003, 38 of its employees have been murdered.

The slayings of Hameed and his driver came four days after the shooting death of Munsuf Abdallah al-Khaldi, a news anchor on Baghdad Television. Senior management at Baghdad Television say another employee, correspondent Mahmoud Zaal, was gunned down in the Khalidiyah area, near the western Iraqi city of Al-Ramadi, in January. The same month, popular television personality Nagham Abdul-Zahra suffered minor injuries after leaping off her second-floor balcony to escape kidnappers.

In February of 2005, the body of Raiedah Wazan (pictured), the highly visible, western-style 35-year-old news anchor for Nineveh TV, was found dumped along a Mosul street in northwestern Iraq, six days after she was kidnapped by masked gunmen. She had been shot four times in the head. U.S. media claimed to "not known why Wazan was kidnapped and killed."

Other controlled media

In addition to the television and radio, newspapers carry forward the 'safe-for-Jews' party line. Those allowed to operate in Iraq under Pattiz guidance include:

  • Al-Sabah - The official occupation authority newspaper.
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Al-Ahali - Self-described as Iraq's first "liberal" newspaper.
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Iraq Today - The New York Times' Thomas Friedman recently gave the neocon mouthpiece a positive review.
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Al-Mouajaha - Operated by the Independent Media Center. The IMC directs its members to be "open and inclusive of individuals from a variety of different local left-wing, anarchist, communist and other anti-capitalist stances."
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Tareeq Ash-Sha'ab - Publication of the Iraqi Communist Party (ICP). The first paper allowed to be distributed in Baghdad after the fall of the regime.
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Regay/Tareeq Kurdistan - Publication of the Kurdistan Communist Party, Iraq (KCPI).
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Ash-Shuyu'iya Al-Umalliya - Publication of the Workers' Communist Party of Iraq.
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Iraq Press - Neocon mouthpiece, billed as an independent Iraqi news agency. The official occupation authority website links to it, which says it all.
  • [/*:m:f5elrmyv]

  • Al-Mutamar - Offical newspaper of Zionist stooge Ahmed Al-Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress.[/*:m:f5elrmyv][/list:u:f5elrmyv]
  • The Pattiz plan is to distort the news through careful selection and omission. To lure Iraqi youth into the hip-hop life-style, into the jungle culture of rap and filth and drugs. To promote homosexuality and feminism to divide and weakening Iraqi society. And to denounce every voice of opposition as "hate" and every act of opposition as "terrorism."

Pattiz wants to bring Iraq more and more tightly under the control of Israel. The tribe wants to eliminate every challenge and every potential challenge to their rule. They want to stamp out every influence and every idea that might become a danger to them, and that includes Iraqi nationalism and the Muslim religion, which they have not yet infiltrated and corrupted. Then they'll work to break down the border, pollute all ethnic populations with a flood of immigrants, wipe out all sense of ethnic and religious identity or loyalty, erase the memory of all traditions and all history, and undermine discipline and morality everywhere.

If successful, in five or ten years Iraq will be a disorganized, "democratized," cosmopolitan hash of various ethnic minorities which they can more easily penetrate and control.

Norman J. Pattiz: "We’ll use proven broadcasting techniques, which will be heavily research-driven, where entertainment softens up the audience for the message." -- Pattiz told Congress

William L. Pierce: "...When the Jews approach a healthy, homogeneous Gentile society with the aim of infiltrating it, they are looked upon as outsiders, as aliens, and regarded with suspicion -- and often with hostility if their reputation has preceded them. Facing such suspicion the Jews find it very difficult to gain power or influence so that they can exploit the society. Their way of dealing with this obstacle is to undermine the solidarity of the Gentile society: to destroy its homogeneity, to attack its morality and its traditions, to encourage alienation among its young people. They do everything they can to make the society more "diverse," more multicultural, more cosmopolitan, more rootless, more atomized. This is a slow process, often continuing for several generations, but as it proceeds the society's barriers against the Jews crumble. Ultimately it allows the Jews to control and then plunder the society, to suck it dry before moving on to another Gentile society and beginning a similar process anew..." -- The Frog And The Scorpion

ZOG CONTROL: Excellent post, thanks.

The Arabs have vehemently opposed jewish media infiltration for decades (ex: jews are openly banned from Saudi Arabia), and for good reason: they know it will completely destroy their culture. I have seen several surveys on this and I know the average Arab is completely horrified by the garbage shown on Amerikwan television.

Thanks Ouphe and thanks to who ever rated this thread. Yes this is an interesting case study on Zionsit media control that has been flying under the radar and needs exposed. Here is a really well written background article from 2004:

June 22, 2004
The Middle East Initiative
By Jeff Hook

Zionists get Arab-language media empire, U.S. taxpayers get to pay for it.

Most National Vanguard readers are aware that Jews have acquired a near monopoly of private media. But did you know that they also control publicly funded media? National Public Radio, the Children's Television Network, and of course the National Endowment for the Arts all market the same Jewish vision of a New World Order.

Now, with the creation of what the Bush neocons call the 'Middle East Initiative,' the White European concept of a 'fair and impartial press' has once again been turned on its head.

Throughout the war in Iraq, Al-Jazeera television and other Arabic media outlets have taken a less than favorable view of U.S.-led military actions, regularly showing images censored in the United States, such as dead coalition troops, and killed or maimed Iraqi civilians. Millions tune in to see the bloody, graphic details of Israeli war crimes, and to watch talk shows that accurately portray the US and Israel as acting together.

The neocon response was to bomb the offices of Al-Jazeera in both Afghanistan and Iraq -- as well as those of rival Abu Dhabi television -- yet the networks continued to operate. Now they've developed a new approach.

After having seduced most of the White world into self-destruction by way of movies, television and print media, Jews will now put their competitive advantage in fibtelling to a purpose that will even more directly benefit Israel. American taxpayers will foot the bill -- a bill of a quarter of a billion dollars over the next five years.

Norman J. Pattiz (pictured), vice chairman of the US-based Israel Policy Forum, has been appointed chairman of the 'Middle East committee' of the U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). The committee represents the propaganda arm of the Middle East Initiative, which seeks to "democratize" the region against its will.

In a February radio address in honor of Voice of America's 60th anniversary, Bush singled out Pattiz for his "perseverance and dedication to the project." The 'project' being the production of Arab-language propaganda for two new media outlets: The Al-hurrah satellite television network, and Radio Sawa.

The Beginning

Pattiz and a team of kosher media gurus created the empire from scratch, after selling the idea to the Bush administration. The Jews' main prop was a short video, prepared in response to doubters in Washington who would ask them: Why should the U.S. convert its international broadcasting into MTV? The video opens with images of angry mobs of enraged Muslims burning American flags. "These are the images that bombard over 300 million Arabs on a daily basis," says the voiceover. "And these are the images sent out by America in response." What you see, of course, is a completely blank screen. The video stressed the urgency of filling that screen.

Pattiz argued that the Middle East required a revolutionary approach because there is a media war going on. "In terms of the Middle East, the airwaves are clogged with hate speech, disinformation and incitement to violence, and it's doing serious damage to Washington's image," he would blather on trips to Capitol Hill.

In an interview on Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, Pattiz explained that entertainment could be used to reel in a young Arab audience. "We want to reach all young Arabs, from Palestinian kids throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers in the West Bank to college students and tomorrow's leaders," Pattiz said.

"After all," he said, "it was MTV that brought down the Berlin Wall."

Pattiz told Congress the US can't lead with policy and expect people to tune in because our policies are unpopular. "Clearly our policies in the Middle East are not embraced by most of the population, so you don't lead with policy," explained Pattiz. "We’ll use proven broadcasting techniques, which will be heavily research-driven, where entertainment softens up the audience for the message."

Norman J. Pattiz

Billionaire Pattiz, 59, is founder and chairman of Westwood One, the largest radio network in the United States with 7,500 stations. The $3.5 billion-company is also the largest distributor of commercial radio programming. Its news programs include CBS News Radio, Fox News Radio, CBS Market Watch, CNN Radio, and the NBC Radio Network. Pattiz helped pass the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which eliminated restrictions on how many stations a company can own.

Pattiz, who lives in a Beverly Hills mansion and sports a big, diamond LA Lakers championship ring on his pinky finger (a gift from Shaquille O'Neal), bought his way into the heart of Bill Clinton by contributing a paltry $300,000 to his campaign. (Pattiz pled guilty to charges that he skirted campaign finance laws and got a wrist-slap, paying a $75,000 fine.) The favor was returned when Clinton nominated Pattiz to the BBG. More recently, Pattiz helped fund Hillary Clinton's successful senate run, which he has since used to leverage her cooperation in attempting to win the release of Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard.

Pattiz is no stranger to Middle Eastern politics. He has been an active force at the Israel Policy Forum (IPF) -- a think-tank that coordinates pro-Israel propaganda. He meets regularly with key Israeli politicians, and hosts IPF monthly roundtable discussions where prominent American Jews of the media and government meet with Israeli leaders in brainstorming sessions. In 1999, Pattiz was honored by IPF at a tribute dinner where former Prime Minister Ehud Barak presented him with a Zionism award and called him "an important conduit of information."

Pattiz is dedicated to a "vibrant Jewish state" while using his media empire to promote multiculturalism outside of Israel. In an interview with the Jewish Journal in 2001, Pattiz credited this "community activism" to his Jewish upbringing: "My mother’s parents were Orthodox Jews. I have very fond and intense memories of my grandparents. Every Jewish holiday was a day where we would spend time in shul."

Al-hurra Television Network

Al-hurra, "the free one," is an Arabic-language satellite TV channel that operates 24/7 out of Springfield, Virginia. It went online in 22 Arab countries in February of 2004. The network will cost $62 million in its first year, not including an extra $40 million for around the clock broadcasting to Iraq. Once established, the network will drain $37 million annually for recurring operational costs.

What about content? Original programming is an expensive proposition, even $60 million a year isn't enough to fill all the hours. So Pattiz takes a lot of content right off the shelf. His fellow tribesmen at the networks are eager to help, providing the entertainment for free, or at "patriotic rates." Children’s programs, sports and a line-up of U.S. television shows and movies (all dubbed or subtitled) fill most of the programming schedule, while game shows provide cheap and attractive filler. The original part is the news: A morning broadcast like The Today Show, and an evening news program similar to Nightline.

Pattiz says that when it comes to television, there's no rival to good old Yankee ingenuity. Just the "production values" (slick formatting) will keep the Arabs riveted, he told Congress. "Making sure that the headquarters are safe is the main consideration," he added.

According to the February 2004 edition of the Christian Science Monitor, most of Al-hurra's 75 staffers were handpicked by Pattiz. Regardless, Iraqi journalists at the network are already clashing with their Hebrew overlord. The Washington Post reported that the two sides have feuded over whether to subject news content to outside approval. Apparently, the Iraqis don't understand why everything they write has to be 'Jew approved.'

The build-up to Al-hurra's launch was rife with controversy, as the Pattiz rhetoric about "targeting" Arab and Muslim youth with MTV fueled accusations of propaganda, brainwashing, and gimmickry. The network is already drawing fire in the Middle East as an American attempt to destroy Islamic values. Arab journalists have widely criticized its broadcasting [in editorials and columns] as unwanted and dangerous. "I think the main goals of launching such a channel are to create drastic changes in our principles and doctrines," said Jamil Abu-Bakr, a spokesman of the Islamic Action Front, the political arm of Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood movement. Mr. Abu-Bakr condemned Al-hurra as "part of an American media and cultural invasion of our region."

Egyptian newspaper editor and pundit Salama Ahmed Salama told the Agence France-Presse: "The channel and its presenters insist on the fact they are free, as if they were telling the Arab viewer he is not, that he is oppressed and the United States will teach him freedom. It's quite a stupid way of proceeding."

Taher al-Adwan, the editor-in-chief of Jordan's independent daily newspaper Al-Arab Al-Yawm, said: "The new American media campaign in the Arab world is not aimed at spreading democracy but hiding the truth and withholding information."

Islam Online dismissed [Al-hurra] as "slanted, arrogant and condescending" and as having been "launched to polish the image of Israel in the region."

Abdallah Schleifer, a Jew who grew up in Queens before converting to Islam, is now the director of the Center for TV Journalism at the American University in Cairo. Schleifer told the Associated Press: "MTV appalls them. This is one of the weird things, to hear the U.S. administration talking about American culture in its Hollywood and New York television manifestation, which is utterly devoted to undermining the values of a Christian society."

Radio Sawa

He who pays the piper calls the tune? Not in this case.

Radio Sawa is a 24-hour, boom-box operation, targeting young Arab listeners with a meticulously researched blend of music, peppered with carefully crafted news segments on the half-hour. The station broadcasts blocks of pop, hip-hop, techno and dance music, equally divided, roughly, between English and Arabic. (Pattiz views recording artists such as Britney Spears and rapper Eminem as "cultural warriors.")

The station has its headquarters in Washington DC, a regional broadcast center in Dubai, and offices in Jerusalem. It was launched in March of 2002 and is fully US taxpayer-funded. An enthusiastic Congress has been more than generous in endowing the new station with an initial budget of $35 million, with another $21.7 million for fiscal year 2003.

Radio Sawa has a Farsi format targeted to Iran and targeted programming in colloquial dialects all over the Gulf, from the West Bank and Gaza to Egypt and the Sudan. Again, all at US taxpayer expense. Music mixes are customized for various areas. And news call-in shows are hosted by broadcasters in the predominant dialects of five different regions: Egypt, Iraq, Jordan/Palestine, Sudan, and the Persian Gulf area of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Radio Sawa is supposed to make Arab youth feel better about the Bush administration's blind support of Israel and its installation of an Israel-friendly puppet regime in Iraq. To accomplish this task Pattiz has hired Edison Media Research to conduct weekly studies -- focus groups, telephone surveys and other polls -- to help him calibrate the music and news to the audience's tastes.

Edison is a Jewish outfit. Executive vice-president Joe Lenski is in charge of the Radio Sawa operation. His other clients include The New York Times and the pay television network HBO.

Lenski says those in the region aren't merely suspicious of the United States and Israel. "The average 18 to 30-year-old American is a minimal user of media for news, and also very trusting and in a lot of ways naive," the Jew explains. "However, 18 to 30-year-olds in the Middle East will say, 'If it's on the news, someone must have put it there for a reason. What's the reason?'"

Edison's latest polling data showed that Radio Sawa listeners express about 5% more favorable attitudes toward America and Israel than those who listen to other stations. That may not be much, Pattiz said, but it's a start.

Radio Sawa news director Mouafac Harb said the network will try to demonstrate the American value of embracing diversity. Harb, 34, who is Lebanese-American, worked with Zionist Ted Koppel for four years at ABC's Nightline program. In Beirut Harb helped Israel set up a Lebanese television station, which within two years became one of the most popular in Lebanon.

Pattiz and Harb expect Radio Sawa to be occasionally shut down by regimes when it broadcasts propaganda targeting them. But Pattiz has accounted for the roadblocks by creating what he calls "broadcast redundancy." Those who cannot tune into Radio Sawa on FM, can hear it on AM, which is being pumped out of transmitters in Djibouti, Kuwait and Cyprus. And then there are the satellite channels like Nilesat, which operates out of Cairo.

According to reports, the radio station receives a steady stream of complaints because it chooses to use the expression "suicide terrorists" instead of the word shahids (martyrs), as is the norm in the Arabic language media.

Five months after Radio Sawa first began broadcasting, Ali Abunimah, of The Electronic Intifada, made the following observations about its content while on a visit to Jordan:

The BBC led with news of a report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health documenting a 125% increase in child malnutrition in the occupied territories. Radio Sawa led with news that an Israeli "special unit" had arrested Hamas members. Saying nothing about the health report.

The BBC highlighted a new report from the World Bank that put the number of Palestinians living in extreme poverty at over fifty percent. Sawa said nothing about that.

Sawa did report that three Palestinians had been injured in an Israeli "operation" in Khan Yunis, but only the BBC bothered to add that these were civilians, one of them a sixteen year-old girl.

In a late night bulletin, Sawa led with news that the former director of the Palestine National Fund had gone into exile in London from Gaza, and had told Israeli newspapers that Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat had diverted millions of dollars meant for the Palestinian people into his personal bank accounts.

Only the BBC however mentioned that the same newspaper reports claimed that the former director had been spirited out of Gaza in a joint operation of Israeli, Jordanian and British intelligence, and that he had himself been accused of embezzling more than six million dollars from PLO funds.

Sawa did include news items that undermine declared U.S. policy, for example that the German Chancellor strongly opposes a U.S. attack on Iraq. Perhaps adding such information, which is in any case well-known to everyone here, helps boost the credibility of the station as an "objective" whole, making it a bit easier to sell the largely sanitized version of the news that Sawa offers.

Conclusions

The Pattiz approach is not to tell outright lies, but to subtly distort the news through careful selection and omission. As promised, he'll lure Arab youth into the hip-hop life-style, into the jungle culture of rap and filth and drugs. He'll promote homosexuality and feminism for the sole purpose of dividing and weakening Arab society. And he'll denounce every voice of opposition as "hate" and every act of opposition as "terrorism."

Pattiz wants to bring the Middle East more and more tightly under the control of Israel. His tribe wants to eliminate every challenge and every potential challenge to their rule. They want to stamp out every influence and every idea that might become a danger to them, and that includes all Arab nationalism and the Muslim religion, which they have not yet infiltrated and corrupted. They want one "regime change" after another. Then they'll work to break down national borders, pollute all ethnic populations with a flood of immigrants, wipe out all sense of ethnic and religious identity or loyalty, erase the memory of all traditions and all history, and undermine discipline and morality everywhere.

If they're successful, 30 or 40 years from now every country in the Middle East will be a disorganized, "democratized," cosmopolitan hash of various racial minorities which they can more easily penetrate and control. This behavior on the part of the Jews of working to destroy the solidarity and homogeneity of a society they intend to penetrate and control is thousands of years old. It's in their genes.
