The author doesn't twist the story to fit the PC agenda , but instead confronts reality, head on . It is more realistic than 99% of the things written in our Orwellian Age.

One subtle point that should be extracted from this article is the tipping point that is reached where everything starts to spiral downward. Corrupt cops breed crime, the increased crime costs more. The greater cost leads to reduction in crime fighting , good cops leave the department , more marginal cops replace the good ones . Reduced crime fighting breeds more crime and the cycle starts to self-perpetuate .

There is an evil irony in this story. The feds mandate affirmative action which makes the police department so corrupt that the feds move to take over the local police that their mandates ruined in the first place . If a person didn't know better, he'd think that these policies are implemented so that the local police can be federalized.
