The New Age is best approached by understanding George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff's advice, putting on your blinders, and running your own race. Gurdjieff is for all seasons, and as a bonus he remained a Russian Orthodox despite his sage-knave ways so Christians can enjoy him too.

There's another Gurdjieff bonus besides: Herbie Brennan once implied that George Ivanovitch was at least a Nazi sympathizer. Probably false, but Gurdjieff did live in Paris under Vichy and got along with them just fine.

The best introduction to Gurdjieff's thought is a small book by Brit jack-of-all-trades Colin Wilson (almost a pamphlet, less than a hundred pages). It's called The War Against Sleep. Sleep, in Gurdjieff's mind, is where most humans are from cradle to grave, just reacting like automatic bug-repellers most of the time but not really alive much less aware. If you've read anything about what National Socialists believed this is nothing new.

Let me add that George Ivanovitch is strong medicine, even confronting him in Wilson's short book is like tossing a live high voltage wire into a puddle. Be sure you want to wake up.

Funny you should say that Franz I have heard about Gurdjief for several years as I bought a book about him and his teachings called "In Search of the Miraculous" back in 1993. I remember reading him disgusing sleep, he said we are like robots or machines I think was the word he used and just do things a certain way without really thinking why.And also I have been getting into Colin Wilson lately little by little I checked out a huge book of his called The Mysteries" a couple of months ago or so from a local library I didn't have time to read it all but I perused it pretty darn good. I also just saw a book of his for sale at a flea market called 'The Exorcist' not the same as the famous movie by the same name but based on a supposed real happening with a malovelent spirit of a former monk haunting some place. I also recently read up about him and his life's work on the internet.

The truth is that they have already conquered so many minds amoung the christians that they are quite simply moving on to the next religious victims who they can currupt and drain of money and values. They arent interested in Buddhism......The are doing recon...Jew style.

Colin Wilson is highly dependable, whether he writes about the Occult (many books) or his more recent books about suppressed and alternative history. A few years ago he co-wrote The Atlantis Blueprint which is an EXCELLENT compendium of all the reasons why academic history is a bunch of fairy tales.

With Wilson, like Gurdjieff, there's no Talmudic bullshit or dues to pay. They both just summarize what they know, offer their interpretation, and you are free to accept or reject any or all of it. They present the material and let the reader use it as he sees fit.
